TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP COMPASS. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE RPMS WOULD GO UP AND DOWN AND THE VEHICLE WOULD JERK, LUNGE FORWARD, AND LOSE POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF MARLOW HEIGHTS (5060 AUTH WAY, CAMP SPRINGS, MD 20746, (301) 423-5111) WAS CONTACTED AND A SECOND DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 98,716.
TAKATA RECALL : MY 2014 JEEP COMPASS AIRBASE DASH LIGHT HAS ILLUMINATED, AND WILL RANDOMLY TURN ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING. I LOOKED INTO THE RECALL AND DID NOT SEE ANY COMPLAINTS FROM MY VEHICLE MODEL. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ON AND STATIONARY THE INDICATOR WILL ILLUMINATE. WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AT ANY SPEED THE INDICATOR LIGHT WILL RANDOMLY POP UP.
WHILE SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY, THE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT LAUNCHED WITHOUT PROVOCATION. CAR WAS NOT ON WHEN THE AHS BLEW, HITTING ME IN THE HEAD. IT WAS LATER DISCOVERED THAT THE PLASTIC CLIP THAT IS SUPPOSED TO HOLD THE HEADREST TOGETHER WAS BROKEN. I WAS DRIVING, AND MY CAR STARTED TO GET HOT. THE HOT ENGINE LIGHT STARTED TO BEEP. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY SO I TRIED TO GET TO A SAFE AREA TO PULL OVER. BEFORE I COULD EVEN DO THAT I HEARD AND FELT THE CAR SHAKE AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPS TO COLD AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT TURNED ON. DROVE IT HOME AND IN THE MORNING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON.
WHILE DRIVING, THE ENGINE LOSES POWER AND THROTTLE CONTROL, TRACTION CONTROL, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON. VEHICLE GOES INTO "LIMP" MODE AND WON'T ACCELERATE ABOVE 10-15 MPH. THIS SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE, BUT THERE ISN'T A RECALL. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD.
THE ENGINE STALLED AND CUT OFF WHILE I WAS SLOWING DOWN WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THE CAR WENT COMPLETELY DEAD, I COULD NOT TURN ON WARNING LIGHTS AND CARS WERE RUNNING FAST BEHIND ME. AFTER 2 MINUTES OF TURNING THE IGNITION TO TRY TO START THE CAR, THE DASH LIGHTS WENT BACK ON AND THE ENGINE STARTED AGAIN. THE CAR ALSO CUT OFF WHEN I WAS SLOWING DOWN IN TRAFFIC BEHIND OTHER CARS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP COMPASS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE "CIRCUIT LOW" WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED PERTAINING TO THE TORQUE CONVERTER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND FAILED TO CHANGE OVER FROM PARK INTO DRIVE SEVERAL TIMES. IT WAS DIAGNOSED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REBUILT. CLINTON AUTO GROUP (2850 VALLEY WEST DRIVE, STE A, CLINTON, IA 52732, (888) 373-1135) WAS CONTACTED AND WAS UNABLE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT UNTIL JULY 30, 2019. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,416.
ACTIVE HEADREST RESTRAINT SYSTEM DEPLOYED WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY OVERNIGHT, THE FOLLOWING DAY WE NOTICED THAT THE HEADREST HAD SPRUNG FORWARD. UPON INSPECTING THE HEADREST SYSTEM I NOTICED THAT THE RETAINING PIN WAS STILL ENGAGED IN THE RETAINING MECHANISM AND THAT IT HAD SPRUNG BECAUSE THE PLASTIC THAT HOLDS THE RETAINING PIN HAD BROKEN.
DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT LATCH IS NOT LATCHING TO THE BUCKLE. WHILE PUTTING SEAT BELT ON IT DISENGAGES FROM THE LATCH SYSTEM COMPLETELY. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO RE-SECURE THE BUCKLE INTO THE LATCH CONTINUES TO ALLOW THE SEAT BUCKLE TO BECOME UNLATCHED. EXTREMELY UNSETTLING AS WHILE OPERATING MY VEHICLE KNOWING MY SEAT BELT COMES UNDONE AT ANY TIME. NOTHING IS TOUCHING THE BUCKLE OR LATCH SYSTEM TO CAUSE THE UNBUCKLE AT ANY TIME. HAVE CHECKED BY LOOKING INTO THE LATCH SYSTEM TO ENSURE NO DEBRIS IS INSIDE.
IN THE SUMMER OF 2019 I STARTED A SUMMER JOB TO EARN A LITTLE CASH FOR COLLEGE. AROUND 3-4 WEEKS WHEN I GOT THE CAR. I WENT TO WORK AND ARRIVED FOR 4:30 AM, BECAUSE I WORK WITH MY MOM AND THAT IS WHEN SHE STARTS WORK. FOR ME I START WORK AT 5:00 AM SO I SIT IN THE CAR FOR 30 MINS JUST LISTENING TO MUSIC. AROUND THAT TIME I SUDDENLY HEAR A POP NOISE AND MY HEAD WAS PUSHED FORWARD WITH A DECENT AMOUNT OF FORCE THAT I STARTED HAVING A HEADACHE. I LOOKED AROUND TO SEE IF A CAR HAD HIT ME, BUT I SAW NO CAR IN MOTION AROUND ME AT ALL. THAT'S WHEN I SAW THAT MY HEADREST WAS POPPED OUT AND WAS CONFUSED AS TO WHY. I STILL CONTINUED TO GO TO WORK WITH A HEADACHE AFTERWARDS.*DT CONSUMER STATED HEADSET WAS REPLACED.*JB
WHEN IN MOTION, WHEN BRAKING TO ALLOW A VEHICLE IN FRONT TO TURN WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE VEHICLE HESITATES AND LURCHES FRONT TO BACK NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE RESUMING ACCELERATION. THIS OCCURS AT HIGHWAY AND CITY SPEEDS. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO A MECHANIC MULTIPLE TIMES WITH NO SENSORS OR ISSUES FOUND.
2014 JEEP COMPASS SPORT LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THIS VEHICLE WENT FROM GOING 65-70 MILES PER HOUR TO BARELY BEING ABLE TO GET UP TO SPEED OF 30MPH THAT IS WITH PRESSING ACCELERATOR ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. ONCE EXITING OFF OF THE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO LOSE POWER WHEN PRESSING ACCELERATOR PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE WILL START, BUT BARLEY HAS ANY POWER TO DRIVE. THIS IS VERY LIFE THREATENING AND DANGEROUS! THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN NOTED AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED WAY BEFORE NOW. I HAVE SEEN REVIEWS ABOUT THIS HAPPENING TO OTHER JEEP COMPASS OWNERS. PLEASE FIX ASAP! BEFORE LIVES ARE TAKEN..
MY JEEP COMPASS WANT TO STALL WHEN I PRESS THE GAS! IT HAS BEEN DOING IT NOW FOR 2 DAYS AND IT DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME BUT DID ALMOST CAUSE ME TO WRECK ON A HIGHWAY YESTERDAY! THIS HAS HAPPENED ON HIGHWAYS AND SIDE ROADS. THE CAR HAS NOT STALLED OUT COMPLETELY BUT IT WANTS TO AND WHEN IN DOES IT CAUSES THE CAR TO JERK AND LOSE SPEED. MY CAR ONLY HAS 33,000 MILES ON IT.
THERE IS A RECALL THAT IS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN BY JEEP AND IT'S THE CATYLICTIC CONVERTER AND ALSO THE THROTTLE BODY JUST WENT OUT.
I PULLED ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND THIS STRANGE LIGHT LIT AND THE CAR SEEMED TO BE RACING BUT NOT GOING ANYWHERE. I PULLED INTO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD, PUT THE CAR IN PARK, AND THE LIGHT WENT OFF. I TRIED GOING AGAIN BUT WITHIN 500 FT AND THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. FRANTIC I PULLED INTO A SHOPPING MALL AND PULLED OUT THE CAR'S MANUAL. I FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY LIGHT. I MADE THE TRIP HOME AND THE NEXT DAY TOOK THE CAR TO MY MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC SCANNED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND REPLACED THE FAULTY THROTTLE BODY. MY CAR IS A 2014 JEEP COMPASS LATITUDE WITH 52,363 MILES. I WAS CHARGED $556.54 TO FIX MY NOT YET 5 YEAR OLD CAR!
RIGHT NOW IT DOESN'T RUN BECAUSE THE BRAIN WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING BACK TO WORK FROM LUNCH. THERE'S NO RESPONSE TO THE VEHICLE AND THE OTHER DAY IT COMPLETELY STOPPED DEAD WHILE I WAS DRIVING 65 ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK. TO TOP MY MATTERS OFF WITH THIS VEHICLE IT'S HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL RECALLED AND REPLACED AND MANY OTHER PARTS IT'S A TERRIBLE VEHICLE. TO TOP MY STRESS WITH IT MY SEATBELT DOESN'T LOCK WHEN IT'S SUPPOSED TO SO IF I WRECK LOOKS LIKE I'M GOING THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. I HONESTLY WISH I COULD AFFORD ANOTHER VEHICLE BECAUSE MINE I FEEL IS GOING TO BE THE DEATH OF ME. I HAVE A VIDEO OF WHAT IT WAS DOING BEFORE IT COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN CAN'T UPLOAD ANY PICTURES BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T DO JUSTICE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP COMPASS. WHEN THE TURN SIGNALS WERE ACTIVATED, THE INTERIOR LIGHTING INSIDE THE VEHICLE ILLUMINATED AND TURNED OFF ONCE THE TURN SIGNALS WERE DEACTIVATED. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT HAD TO RELEASE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IN ORDER THE ENGINE TO RETURN TO NORMAL. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. ON ONE OCCASION, THE ENGINE COMPLETELY FAILED. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE WHEEL BEARING AND ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
TAKATA RECALL COMPLAINT - ENGINE, FUEL PROPULSION SYSTEM, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL 2014 JEEP COMPASS SPUTTERS AND JERKS, DIFFICULTY ACCELERATING DAILY ON ALL TYPES OF ROADS AND HIGHWAYS SINCE 2016 UNTIL CURRENT AND NOW SINCE 5/6/209 AND 5/10/2019 THE ENGINE LIGHT RANDOMLY CAME ON ALONG WITH THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE LIGHT. UNABLE TO ACCELERATE ABOVE 45 OR 50 MPH..ONLY GAIN SPEED WHEN GOING DOWNHILL. I WAS SCARED AND HAD THE CAR TOWED HOME I WAS ON THE FREEWAY MY LIFE WAS IN DANGER
VEHICLE HAS ISSUES ACCELERATING SPUTTERS AND JERKS BETWEEN 25 AND 45 MILES PER HOUR. HAD A MECHANIC CHECK THIS ISSUE AND SAYS IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH A DEFECTIVE OR DAMAGED TRANSMISSION. VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 100,000 MILES AND WAS JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED FROM A DEALER AND HAD A GOOD RATING. VEHICLE HAD THIS PROBLEM SINCE PURCHASE AND HAS BEGUN TO GET WORSE. THIS ISSUE ONLY HAPPENS WHEN SHIFTING FROM 2 ND TO 3 RD.
DRIVING WHEN I LOST POWER, EVEN PUSHING ON THE GAS... THE CAR SLOWED TO UNDER 20MPH. A FEW LIGHTS CAME UP ON DASH (CHECK ENGINE, TRACTION CONTROL, LIGHTNING BOLT) ENGINE STUTTERED AND CARS WERE SWERVING TO GO AROUND ME BECAUSE I HAD NO POWER NO MATTER HOW MUCH I PUSHED ON THE GAS. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED TO ME, I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY.

KEEPS JERKING AND LOSING POWER WHILE ACCELERATING ON HIGHWAYS/BUSY ROADS/HILLS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP COMPASS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS REPLACED. SEVERAL DAYS LATER, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AGAIN AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
MY PASSENGER SEATBELT CLIP BROKE. ALL ON ITS OWN. NEVER IN AN ACCIDENT. NOTHING SHOULD OF CAUSED IT. I HAVE LOW MILES ON THE CAR AND I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. THIS SEAT BELT CLIP IS GOING TO COST ME MORE THEN $300. I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR A YEAR AGO. NOT FAIR!
WHILE DRIVING ON BOTH CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAY THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THIS CAUSES A LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND ABS BRAKING MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SAFELY GET THE CAR OFF THE ROAD AND AVOID ACCIDENTS. ONCE I'M ABLE TO STOP AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK IT WILL RESTART AND DRIVE NORMAL AGAIN. BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN THERE ARE NO LIGHTS ON THE DASH OR CODES IN THE COMPUTER THAT IDENTIFY AN ISSUE. THIS HAPPENS AT LEAST THREE TIMES A WEEK IN ALL TEMPETURES AND CONDITIONS.
ETC LIGHTS COMES IN AND THE CAR THE LOOSES POWER. IT GOES LIMP AND WANTS TO STALL. IT LOSES CONTROL OVER THE THROTTLE.
TAKATA RECALL OUR 2014 JEEP COMPASS WAS INVOLVED IN A 5 CAR ACCIDENT 3/4/2019 IN HENDERSON NV. PROCEEDING EAST BOUND ON I-215, A WHITE HYUNDAI WAS STALLED IN THE CENTER LANE IN THE BEGINNING OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. A RED TOYOTA TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH STRUCK THE REAR END OF THE HYUNDAI CATAPULTING THE HYUNDAI ACROSS LANES INTO THE PASSENGER DOORS (FRONT AND BACK) OF OUR 2014 JEEP COMPASS DESTROYING THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR WHERE MY 12 YEAR OLD SON WAS SEATED CAUSING INJURY TO HIS SHOULDER NECK AND ARM. AT NO TIME DID THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOY AS THEY SHOULD HAVE, WERE DESIGNED TO DO OR MARKETED AS A SAFETY FEATURE. IN ADDITION THIS CRASH WAS AFTER FULFILLING THE REQUESTED TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL WORK AND RETURNING OUR 2014 JEEP COMPASS TO CHAPMAN CHRYSLER JEEP SERVICE CENTER FOR RECALL WORK SPECIFICALLY ON THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER . THE RECALL WORK WAS COMPLETED BETWEEN 12/10-13/2018. OUR 2014 JEEP COMPASS WAS ALSO EAST BOUND ON I-215 TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH AND WAS JUST PASSING IN THE LEFT FURTHERMOST LANE THE STALLED HYUNDAI WHEN THE TOYOTA REAR ENDED THE HYUNDAI CATAPULTING THE HYUNDAI INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF OUR JEEP COMPASS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. TWO UNKNOWN DEALERS WERE CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH ON A COUNTRY ROAD, AFTER A CURVE IN THE ROAD, MY JEEP"S TRACTION CONTROL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL STARTED FLASHING. MY JEEP THEN WENT INTO "LIMP MODE" AND I COULDN'T DRIVE FASTER THAN 40 MPH. I'M SO GLAD THAT I WAS ON A COUNTRY ROAD BECAUSE IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED ON A HIGHWAY IT WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET MY JEEP HOME AND IT HAS BEEN FINE SINCE BUT NOW I'M CONSTANTLY WORRIED THAT THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN AT ANYTIME.
I'VE TRIED REFUELING MY KEEP. AND NUMEROUS TIMES THE FUEL HAS SHOT BACK OUT OF THE FILLER NECK AND SPILLED ON THE FLOOR AND ALL OVER ME. THOUGHT IT WAS ME AND ASKED A MECHANIC AT ANNADALE SERVICE CENTER IN STATEN ISLAND TO HELP AND THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED TO THEM. SO OFF TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS SERVICE AT ISLAND JEEP CHRYSLER. A DIAGNOSIS WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE FILLER TUBE.
WHEN GOING OVER 30MPH OR UPHILL MY TRANSMISSION STARTS SPUTTERING. I CANNOT ACCELERATE. FREQUENTLY HAPPENS WHEN ON HIGHWAYS. THERE IS A SUDDEN SHIFT ALMOST LIKE IM SWITCHING GEARS. RPM SHOOTS UP BUT CAR WILL NOT GAIN SPEED. HEADLIGHTS WILL GET VERY DIM, INSIDE LIGHTS WILL FLICKER. WHEN STARTING THE ENGINE ITS LIKE IT ALMOST DOESNT WANT TO START. FRONT WINDOW MOTORS WORK WHEN THEY PLEASE
MY PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR KEEPS RANDOMLY POPPING UP. I WAS DRIVING & A LIGHT SIGNALING AIRBAG POPS UP.
MY CAR CAUGHT FIRE AND IS A TOTAL LOSS. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT IT WAS ELECTRICAL AND STARTED FROM THE HEADLIGHT
UPON DRIVING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY, MY CAR CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP CAUSING TRAFFIC TO SHUTTER AROUND ME AND MY NOW 60MPH CAR JERKED TO A 20MPH SPEED. THIS WAS UNSAFE AND NOW THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE ABOVE 20MPH. THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ARE MENTIONING THIS ONLINE AND SOMEONE NEEDS TO TAKE NOTE!
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD DOING 40 WITH 2 OF MY CHILDREN WHEN I LOST ALL POWER CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE IN 90 DEGREE WEATHER. I ENDED UP ON SOMEONES LAWN AND PULLED UP ON MY EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP MY CAR, ONLY WAY. I ENDED UP BEING TOWED HOME. CAR STARTED NEXT DAY. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP THEY SAID IT WAS THROTTLE CONTROL SENSOR WHICH THEY STATED WASN'T COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. JUST THIS WEEK I TOOK TO GET ITS FIRST INSPECTION SINCE PURCHASING AND IT FAILED FOR EMISSIONS. I WAS TOLD BY INSPECTOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL HAD BEEN FAILING FOR FUEL SYSTEM FAILURE AND TO CONTACT DEALERSHIP. I CONTACTED DEALERSHIP WHO STATED THIS IS THE FIRST THEY'RE HEARING OF THIS ISSUE AND I WASN'T ABLE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT UNTIL NEXT WEEK AND SAID THAT THERE MAY BE A CHARGE FOR ME TO FIX???? I HAVE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE BOTH REAR HUB BEARINGS. I CALLED THE JEEP MANUFACTURER WHO WAS ABSOLUTELY USELESS AS WELL AND SAID CERTAIN THINGS ARE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND THIS MAY BE ONE THAT ISN'T. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY LUDICROUS THAT I HAVE A 4 YEAR OLD CAR THAT FAILED ITS FIRST INSPECTION. I HAVE A CLAIM WITH THEM.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON INTERSTATE WHEN IT LOST POWER, TOOK IT TO MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD IT NEEDED ANOTHER MOTOR CAUSE 2 CYLINDERS WERE GETTING COMPRESSION WHICH MEANS NO POWER... IT WILL ONLY GET UP TO 2500 RPMS AND LOSES POWER, NO START POWER AND NO POWER UP HILLS AT ALL
DRIVING THE CAR AND IT JUST STOPPED ENGINE JUST DIED THEN RESTARTED
THE HEADREST ON THE DRIVER SIDE SEPERATED. (SPLIT AS IF IN AN ACCIDENT) THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS IF I HAD BEEN DRIVING WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I WAS NOT IN THE CAR WHEN THIS HAPPENED. AFTER INSPECTING THE HEADREST I NOTICED THAT A PIECE OF PLASTIC HAD BROKEN AND RELEASED THE SPRING LOADED HEADREST. THE CAR WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY, I FOUND THE BROKEN HEADREST IN THE MORNING.
CAR SHUDDERS WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND SEEMS TO WANT SHUT OFF WHEN DRIVING A THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION IN THE HIGHWAY AND RUSH HOUR TIME. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID I NEED AN ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY AND GASKET. THE NEXT DAY AFTER THEY ACCESSED MY I RECEIVED A RED LIGHTENING BOLT SIGNAL AND THE CAR STALLED THEN IT STARTED BACK UP WITH A JERKING AND SHUDDERING IN THE STREET. I WAS ABLE TO CRUISE INTO MY JOBS PARKING LOT AT THIS MOMENT THE CAR US STILL THERE I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY HAVE OPENED A CASE NUMBER BUT HAVE TO GET BACK TO ME ON THEIR ASSESSMENT. SO I'M OUT OF CAR TO GET TO WORK MY BOSS AFTER WORKING 12 HOURS OFFERED TO TAKE ME HOME NOW I HAVE TO GET AN UBER OR LYFT TO AND FROM WORK
I SEE AN EXISTING RECALL THAT MATCHES ALL THE ISSUES MY CAR HAS BEEN HAVING AND YET MY CAR IS NOT ON THE RECALL. I WOULD LIKE TO TEST THAT THE RECALL DID NOT INCLUDE ALL THE CARS THAT IT SHOULD HAVE. THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD GO ON INTERMITTENDLY FOR THE ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, AND 4WD. WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE WILL PAUSE A FEW SECONDS, WARNING LIGHTS WILL GO ON, AND VEHICLE WILL PROCEED FORWARD. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT INSTANCE WAS WHEN I WAS TURNING LEFT INTO AN INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS, SPEED REDUCED TO 2MPH, WARNING LIGTS FOR ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, AND 4WD WENT ON, AND VEHICLE PROCEEDED FORWARD. I HAD VEHICLE SERVICED THREE TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS CONNECTED TO THE COMPUTER TO RUN DIAGNOSTICS, NOTHING IS INDICATED. THE MECHANIC CHANGED THE WHEEL BEARING 4 TIMES WITH THE HOPE THAT WOULD CORRECT THE PROBLEM. IT HAS NOT. WHEN DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO SHIFT INTO THIS ERROR MODE WITH THE PAUSE, ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, AND 4WD LIGHTS GO ON AND THE VEHICLE PROCEEDS FORWARD. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN WHEN BACKING UP. I FEAR THIS WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THE HESITATION OF THE ENGINE WHEN THIS HAPPENS..
JEEP ENGINE WILL CONSTANTLY STALL WHILE IN MOTION. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING ON A CONSISTENT BASIS FOR OVER A YEAR.
WHILE DRIVING MONTHS AGO MY CAR LOST ALL CONTROL OF THROTTLE, ALL CONTROLS SHUT DOWN, AND I BARELY MADE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. GOT THE CAR CHECKED, IT APPEARED TO BE THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR. HAD THE SENSOR COMPLETELY REPLACED, IT HAS BEEN 4 MONTHS SINCE REPLACEMENT, AND THIS MORNING WHILE DRIVING AROUND A CURVE THE CAR LOST ACCELERATION, ALL CONTROLS SHUT OFF, AND MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP, CAUSING ME TO BE STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF A SHARP CURVE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I TURNED THE IGNITION TO OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND IT STARTED UP AND DROVE FINE. I ALSO HAVE HAD AN ISSUE WHEN ACCELERATING WHERE IT HAS A HARD TIME CHANGING GEARS, AND IT GIVES A SLIGHT JERKING IN THE THROTTLE WHERE IT WON'T CHANGE. THIS MORNING AFTER MY INCIDENT THE CAR HAS STARTED VIBRATING WHILE IN DRIVE AND IDLES AT 1000 RPM. WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL THE VIBRATION STOPS, BUT IMMEDIATELY STARTS BACK ONCE I REMOVE IT OUT OF NEUTRAL.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the warning message "Automatic Transmission overheating " appeared on the instrument panel and the vehicle began to stall. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle for a short period. The contact stated as she restarted the vehicle, she was able to drive to her destination. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the automatic transmission system was overheating, and the thermostat needed to be replaced. The contact stated the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer who informed the contact that they could not provide further assistance and advised the contact to turn off the vehicle whenever the failure reoccurred so the vehicle could cool off. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
