Inside the engine the rocker arm is making a ticking noise all the time and is rubbing against the shaft. My safety is at risk because the engine could fail at any moment while driving. This is an ongoing problem with these engines; 3.6 liter pentastar engines. There were no warning lamps prior to this failure.
I have had my vehicle in for the same problem at least 6 times, since August of 2022. The battery keeps dying. This is a know problem with this model. If it is not started for more than one day it will not start. The dealerships have replaced the batteries, main and auxiliary, multiple times, they have replaced the cable and wires, connectors and alternator. It still happens and no aftermarket parts have been installed related to the electrical system. I am missing two of the receipts to upload at the moment.
I have been having problems with my steering 17 thousand miles after I bought this 56k dollar jeep. sometimes the steering wheel locks to the left or to the right when pulling out of parking lots.than it also pulls to the left in the high way. My motor mounts also are not good any more because they make noise and my motor rocks back and forth. The shock absorbers all 4 also need replacement. This jeep is steering and handling is very unstable and I don’t feel safe driving it. My starter needs replacement for the 3rd time. my gas consumption is 10 miles to the gallon!!!!my day running lights don’t turn on and this issue with lights and electrical problems been with this jeep since 7k miles after I bought! If you leave this jeep on you can take the keys with you it some one can just drive off no keys necessary. my speakers are sounding scratchy for a long time and no repairs to this yet. 35k miles driven, my jeep has been at the dealership for several times getting all kinds of repairs.
I have had this vehicle in the shop more times than it has been on the road. It originally started with the auto start stop sensor. They told me to turn that off. They did an update. And it kept happening over and over again where it would cut itself off and I couldn’t get it restarted. The fix worked for maybe a month and it started all over again. Now the engine light is on I can be doing 30 miles an hour down the middle of town and it dies even with the auto start stop turned off. The steering is so loose that you have to fight it all the time to keep it in the road. The engine light is on and stays on. And it sounds like a scraping when the vehicle is in motion but the tires have clearance and no issues with their clearance. Checked under the vehicle nothing is under the vehicle. This vehicle has never been off road. I believe it qualifies as a lemon.
The sun visor bracket failed on both the passage and drivers’ side of the vehicle. On the driver’s side when the bracket fails it impends the driver’s vison as gravity defaults the position in a down angle.
I need help with the service shifter message , the truck get un drivable after this message blinks three times , is so annoying bc you loose power steering control and the truck don’t go up to 3000 rpm , please fix these Issues
The driver (and passenger) Sun visors have a defect that causes the sunvisor to fall into the field of driver view while driving. I almost hit a pedestrian because I couldn’t see while trying to frantically get the visor into a safe location. Jeep won’t issue a recall and it is deadly serious. I almost killed a human today because of this defect.
There is a well documented design defect with both the driver and passenger sun visor. They are known to just fall in front of the driver’s view creating a driving hazard. This happened to my wife and her visibility was immediately obstructed while driving. A recall needs to be created to minimize risk on our roads.
The driver side sun visor collapsed while I was driving over 60 mph on the freeway on a vehicle under 3K mileage. It appears this issue is common for many jeep owners. Aside from the reactionary swerve to a random object falling & obscuring your view while driving on the freeway, I managed to regain control, pull over and wedge it back temporarily. Apparently it's not an easy fix and glue does not work.
My truck malfunctioned at an automatic car wash. It has approximately 54k miles. I had no warning lights or system alerts on vehicle or Uconnect app. I stopped in the parking lot & put the Gladiator in Park, I left the ignition on. I got off truck & got a towel to clean interior. There are several spaces to vacuum. I put the vehicle in DRIVE to move forward & out of the way of a patron that was going to reverse out. In DRIVE, I pushed the gas pedal in a slight & normal way. The truck REVERSED in DRIVE position. It accelerated to an unknown speed, it felt constant. I pushed break with foot I pushed D with. Right foot. The breaks didn’t work. I tried breaking several times during incident, it was approximately 10 seconds. I didn’t have time to use e- break. I don’t believe back up camera was displayed. I concentrated on physically looking at surroundings & steering. I avoided hitting 1 car, a SUV & a brick wall. The truck made contact with around 4 trees & a sign. The damage was mainly to L side. There’s damage to R side & R back tire had a bulge on it. I went over a concrete, grassy area & felt the impacts of front & back ends going over it & landing. I went over another concrete curve & hit a tree at an angle around the middle of front L cab. The impact caused the car to bounce forward. It didn’t move. I put the truck in Park from D position. I pushed off button. I couldn’t get out of truck of driver side door it’s damaged. 1 witness & lady from suv stopped to check on me. I called police to crash site. He noted witness & lack of break marks. Roadside service wait was long, officer called one. I made a report to Uconnect that evening. They gave me a case # told me they’d move vehicle to a dealer, inspect, analyze & call me. I’ve called, recorded calls & told case was elevated to higher level & no info can be given to me. They refused to tell me where car was, if inspected, warranty info, or what malfunctioned. My ribs, clavicles, r shoulder hurt for a month.
Electrical system malfunction. Gladiator is burned down completely. Copart now has it under my insurance companies instruction. Large electrical fire. I took my vehicle into the dealer because the start stop feature stopped working. I received a call at the end of the day and was notified that both my batteries where bad. They replaced both under warranty and kept it over night for testing. Received a call the fallowing late morning informing my that my vehicle was repaired and was ready to be picked up. On my way home I was stopped at a light and noticed smoke coming out around the hood. I immediately pulled over and opened the hood. The electrical wire on the passenger side below the fuse panel were burning. I tried to put it out with a towel but was burned. I called 911 but by the time the fire department came it was too late. My Gladiator was completely burned down. This incident happened in front of a school as they where letting out. A police officer was there directing student to walk around the dangerous incident. The incident was inspected by the fire department and was confirmed in a report that it started in the engine compartment. No warning lamp or messages.
at 70 mph after hitting expansion joint, the steering wheel and front end will violently shake until speed is below 50 mph. Dealership acknowledged this a known problem with jeeps-aka the death wobble. They think it is the tires but cannot replace them with fiat-chrysler approval. this is an absolutely unsafe scary to operate vehicle.
The contact owned a 2020 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle began to shake violently. The contact stated that the steering and brakes still functioned as needed and was able to safely exit the highway. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer, where it was diagnosed with a severe oscillation event and advised that the tie bar and steering gear needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 21,633.
This vehicle wanders and pulls you all over the road if your going over 30 miles an hour. Steering is very hard to control and feels like you can can over correct if not careful.
The vehicle wants to wander from side to side when you go over 30mph. You arfe constantly having to correct for it.
My wife and I took delivery of a brand new 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport on 4/28/2021. The vehicle is completely stock and has only been serviced by the dealership we purchased it from. In October 2021, we drove over a defect in the highway at approximately 70 miles per hour. The entire vehicle started shaking. It felt like the shaking was coming from the front suspension and steering. We pulled off the highway to the shoulder. As we slowed to about 50 miles per hour, the shaking stopped. There were no warning lights or indicators before, during or after this event. The incident was very frightening and could have led to losing control of the Jeep on a very busy 4 lane highway. We took the vehicle to the selling dealership to have it looked at. The service manager could not duplicate it but a steering damper replacement was ordered. We were able to duplicate the shaking in the same location on 10/21/2021 at 55 miles per hour and again 10/22/2021 in the same location, at 58 miles per hour. It happened several subsequent times. The steering damper was replaced on 12/13/2021. There were 12,887 miles on the Jeep then. The "Death Wobble" still occurred. A new steering gear was ordered by the dealership. The steering gear was replaced 2/14/2022. Mileage now 15,502 miles. As I was driving home from the dealership on 2/14/22, I ran over a transition strip onto the entry ramp to a 4 lane highway. I was going 70 miles per hour. The shaking started and was shaking so hard, my face skin was vibrating as were the numbers on all the gauges. If I were not kind of expecting this, I could have easily lost control. And as I was in a curve, I would have crashed in the very busy highway. The shaking did not stop until I was below 50 miles per hour on the exit ramp. The dealer has not been able to reproduce this. And to this point, the manufacture has not inspected the vehicle. Which they are able to do at anytime.
While going 65-70 mph my gladiator shakes violently if I hit nearly a crack in the road. My jeep is stocked. No special tires or rims. No lift kit. Today I was going 55-60 mph on the highway and I don’t recall even hitting a bump and my car started to shake the worse it has ever shaken before. This definitely should classify as a recall and they should do something about this. This a serious safety concern. I have 36k miles on it. This issue started 16 months ago, while my vehicle had 20k miles.
Driving at 68mph a a very drastic wobble in the steering occured. Have an appointment with jeep dealership. Truck has thirty eight thousand miles with no warning of any kind . Sudden and abundant violent shaking .
Driving at speeds between 55-75 mph, when the gladiator hits a bump in the road (most commonly a straight bridge gap) the entire front end shakes uncontrollably. When speeding up the shake gets worse. The only remedy is to drop the speed 7-10 mph to stop the shaking. The jeep has been taking in and the steering dampener was replaced, the problem started again about 1 year later. It seems to be worse when the temperature is below 40 degrees.
I am getting a "service shifter" error and then my power steering goes out and the vehicle goes into "limp mode" This has happened at 70mph on the highway causing me to almost lose control of the vehicle around turns and slow down to an unsafe speed. I have taken it to multiple dealers that could not duplicate the issue but could see codes in the system. The vehicle is once again in the shop now and they are trying to blame everything but the Jeep itself. I know a few other Gladiator owners this has happened to.
First, my secondary battery died 1.5 yrs into ownership and completely disabled my vehicle at a stop light, which left me nearly getting slammed into multiple times from the rear at an extremely busy intersection. There was no warning that the battery was failing — no “idiot light” — and a fire truck had to assist in getting me to safety. I was stranded for 3.5 hrs awaiting a tow to the dealership, who kept it for a week before it was replaced. Secondly, I have had no less than 5 terrifying “death wobble” incidents to date with the truck when traveling on the freeway at high speeds of 65 - 75 mph. My truck is stock from the factory with no modifications to suspension, tires, or anything, so this should NOT be happening. I stopped by a local dealership and was told that I would need the Fox steering dampener to fix this but no one seems to be able to asses my truck to rectify and replace it without forcing me to leave it for days or even a week or more, which I cannot do since I’m in outside sales and this is my work truck. As per your website, I have discovered an existing recall on this same issue for the 2018 - 2019 Jeep Wrangler. Apparently, Jeep has carried forward this issue to their new Gladiators. This is an VERY DANGEROUS defect. This appears to have generated 91 reports as per this article: https://pickuptrucktalk.com/2020/08/jeep-addresses-gladiator-wrangler-steering-issue/ It is also addressed in this article: https://www.motorbiscuit.com/the-2020-jeep-gladiator-has-a-major-steering-problem/ Lastly, I am on my second “head” or “stereo deck” and am still having multiple issues with the interface, which causes a random variety of heat/AC, lighting, stereo, phone, maps and auto start comfort settings (no heated steering or seat) and more. Local Jeep dealerships pretend to not know of any issues with a claim that there are no active recalls. I find this response appalling. I appeal to you for assistance for my safety. Thank you.
Center rear brake light failed. Detected 18 months after purchase.
Driving at highway speeds vehicle is almost uncontrollable. Has dead spots in the steering. When you hit a bump it is super hard to control. Have to slow down most of the time to keep from veering into other lanes. Now it makes a horrible popping sound. Hate driving thus thing
Two missing Bolts on Rear Drivers side break caliber.
Constant issue with what is commonly known as death wobble. Dealer will not fix. Nearly uncontrollable when hitting uneven bumps. Have to slow down well below traffic speed to get it to stop.
While driving there is a lot of steering play, which makes it hard to control at time. The steering wheel shakes while driving over 45.
2020 JEEP GLADIATOR. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO AN ISSUE WITH THE REAR LEFT AXLE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE MADE A CLUNKY NOISE. MULTIPLE REPAIR ATTEMPTS WERE MADE AND DID NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE. THE LAST REPAIR ATTEMPT WAS TO REPLACE THE DIFFERENTIAL, BUT THE PART WAS UNAVAILBLE WITH NO POSSIBLE ETA INFORMATION.
The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated while driving at approximately 60 MPH, The front end of the vehicle was wobbling violently. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced the Death Wobble. The contact stated that he decelerated below 50 MPH and the vehicle operated as needed. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving above 55 MPH and when hitting a bump. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer referred the contact to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that unknown tires, the socket drag link outer, the steering damper, the front bar, the power steering gear and the arm Pitman needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle failed to respond when shifting into reverse (R). The contact stated that the vehicle made an abnormal sound shortly after driving from a complete stop. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the transmission fluid was flushed; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed twice due to the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the transmission failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH, the front end of the vehicle suddenly experienced severe shaking and vibration. The contact indicated that the failure occurred immediately after driving onto a bridge. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 24,000.
Ever since my Jeep Gladiator had recall 21V-028 performed my reverse lights and reverse camera do not work. Harr Dodge of Worcester Ma did the recall. I now can not get a Ma state inspection sticker because these lights do not work. I took the Jeep to another dealer to repair but they refused. No problems with the vehicle before the recall was done.
While exiting the vehicle from the front passenger door, I put my left hand on the door frame to close the front door. Simultaneously, the passenger in the rear passenger side exited the vehicle and closed the door. One of my fingers got caught between the door frame and the door and severed part of my my finger off. While I understand closing the door on my hand is not Jeeps fault, the normal result of closing the door on a finger is not instant amputation! I used a stick to see if I could replicate the results, and 100% of the time the door snapped the stick when placed above the door hinge. If that had been a childs hand, it would have cut it clean off.
Driving at 40-65mph vehicle begins to shake violently, known as the death wobble. Extremely unsafe to be on the road. Transmission gets stuck in 3rd gear, hard shifts and does not respond when shifting to reverse. Mileage is 69110 but has been an issue since about 27000. Unfortunately I have no money to take to a mechanic. Very disappointed in Jeep will not be purchasing Jeeps in the near future.
My Jeep Gladiator at high speeds drifts constantly from side to side. I just completed a 14 hour trip mostly at highway speeds and I was in fear of my life as the jeep CONSTANTLY drifted in my lane and into other lanes the entire trip. It is clear that the steering mechanism and how the car handles is very SUB PAR and will cause accidents. I am very concerned about going back on the road with this car and will NOT use this on long trips. I am completely exhausted from making adjustments with the wheel to keep me from running into other cars and trucks. I need to know what can be done to FIX this problem?
I was driving, accelerating into heavy traffic, and just about to go under an overpass (sunny day), when the Forward Collision System activated and hard-braked me to a stop, nearly causing an accident with the vehicle behind me. Although there was a car in front of me, it was not close and there was no danger of a collision (it was accelerating). Worse, no warnings came from the system until it started braking. This has happened several times, always in heavy traffic, and always on a underpass or lower bridge deck. I'm going to have to turn this system off, because I don't want to get rear-ended. My FCS is on the medium setting.
At any speed above 10 miles per hour, the steering feels really loose. Very dangerous at highway speeds where I am constantly having to correct my wandering vehicle in order to keep it in a lane. I only have 4500 miles on the truck and it has been like this since I purchased it. For an almost 60k vehicle, it handles like an 60’s model Ford with manual steering. The dead zone in the steering wheel is ridiculous for a vehicle from the 21st century. This vehicle will cause a crash if you are not careful with the over-correction.
Truck had very low power from day 1. Start/stop functionality mpcb short. Engine shacking and making noises. Engine burns oil. Trucks fuel economy is worse then a v12!I was getting 14 miles per gallon. The steering sucks it tilts to the right. Truck feels very unsafe to steer. The steering radius on ir is terrible. Trucks engine temperature goes up when is idling. Starter was staying on and hard to start. Engine would stall crossing the street. Engine stalled in the highway going 65 mph.it generated 10 check engine codes.the chassis of the truck is not completely welded trough. There is gaps all over it.over all the truck flimsy and unstable. The 4x4 was making noises. My oil would get black after 3k miles of driving it.If I was to leave truck on for it to get warm or cold any body could jump in and steal it, even if I have the keys. Truck started having issues at 7 k miles Ac didn’t blow very cold air. Hot air from outside will come in the pit. At last truck broke down it stalled in the middle of a intersection, or would not no into neutral to push it out of the road. I was trying to start it but the stater was very sluggish and after 3 times of me pushing on the start button it started smoking, when I saw this I panicked and trying to make it stop from starting but the starter kept going and going until it kept smoking after 5 minutes it stoped, I open the hood and it smelled like a electrical fire, I was going to call the fire department but it ceased smoking, so I stopped and somehow got it to a safe place. Truck didn’t want to start ever since. I never did any upgrades so that I would not void my warranty, I always did my oil changes and did my tire rotations. Never overloaded my truck or took it off-road. I never put a big trailer on it.I always washed it and took the best care of it as possible.mind you this all happened at 34 thousand miles and I am under new car warranty, even after all this I would still buy another Jeep gladiator
WHEN DRIVING 35MPH TO 65 MPH HITING ANY BUMP IN ROAD WILL CAUSE STEERING WHEEL TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY BACK AN FORTH UNCONTROLLABLE.
IN MOTION; CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, SWAY AT DISCONNECT, SHIFTER, SPEED CONTROL, NO BUS, SERVICE AIRBAG, COOLING FAN BEGAN RACING, SHIFTED OUT OF DRIVE TO NEUTRAL , FUEL GAUGE MALFUNCTION READING EMPTY, RED LIGHT OVER TEMP GAUGE WENT ON , ERRATIC STEERING AND BRAKING ; VERY UNNERVING, WENT IN TO BE FIXED AND AFTER 2 1/2 WEEKS I RECEIVED IT BACK LAST TUESDAY APRIL 27TH, AND YESTERDAY MAY 1ST CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON , THIS TIME WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURNED ON AND CAN'T TURN OFF , ABS LIGHT ON AGAIN.
THE VEHICLE RADIO WILL EXPERIENCE A VERY LOUD POPPING SOUND THROUGH THE BASE RADIO SPEAKERS AS IT APPEARS TO SHORT OUT WHILE AT START UP OR DRIVING. THIS IS VERY STARTLING AND DISTRACTING TO THE DRIVER AND MAY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. THE RADIO ALSO LOSES TIME OFTEN, THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AT LEAST 13 TIMES FOR THIS. JEEP CARES ADVISED ME TO GET TSB ( TECHNICIAN SERVICE BULLETIN) # 08-015-21. THIS UPDATE WAS SUPPOSE TO FIX " EVERYTHING " THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. WHEN AT START UP THE RADIO WENT TO A BLACK SCREEN AND LOCKED UP FOR NEARLY A WEEK. THE NEXT WEEK IT BEGAN TO WORK AGAIN AND THEN WHILE BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY THE LOUD POP APPEARED AGAIN AS THE RADIO SHORTED OUT AS IT HAS BEEN. A VIDEO OF THE LOCKED UP RADIO AND INFORMATION WAS SENT TO JEEP CARES WHO DISMISSED THESE EVENTS SAYING TO JUST TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHEN IT OCCURRES. THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE AS IT ONLY LAST ABOUT A MINUTE WHEN IT SHORTS OUT WITH THE STARTLING POP SOUND. JEEP HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX THESE BASE RADIOS SINCE 2018 AND NOW IN 2021 MY JEEP GLADIATOR IS STILL UNCHANGED, THE SUPPOSED TSB FIX HAS FIXED NOTHING. THE SUDDEN STARTLING LOUD SOUND HAS JARRED ME ENOUGH TO NEARLY GO OUT OF MY LANE WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AS IT IS COMPARATIVELY LOUD AS A RIFLE BEING FIRED FROM THE SPEAKERS. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS SAFETY CONCERN AS JEEP SEEMS TO BE IGNORING CUSTOMERS CONCERNS ON THIS ISSUE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.
I HIT A GUARDRAIL AT 70 MPH ON AN INTERSTATE WITH THE FRONT RIGHT BUMPER AND ROLLED THE VEHICLE WITHOUT ANY AIRBAGS DEPLOYING.
DRIVER VISOR AT MOUNT POINT BROKE CAUSING VISOR TO HANG AND OBSTRUCT DRIVER VIEW OF WINDSHIELD. TRUCK HAS BEEN DRIVEN LESS THAN 3000 MILES/3 MONTHS. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE. I HAVE ATTACHED PICTURES OF THE CHEAP, WEAK, PLASTIC FITTING THAT SWIVELS AND HOLDS MOST OF THE VISORS WEIGHT.
I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE DEC 15, 2020. I HAVE LESS THAN 3,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE, AND I HAVE DRIVEN THE VEHICLE LESS THAN 3 MONTHS. THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR BROKE AT THE MOUNT, WHICH CREATES A VISIBILITY ISSUE BECAUSE IT HANGS AND OBSTRUCTS THE VIEW TO DRIVE SAFELY. I NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER MOUNT FOR THE VISOR IS ALSO LOOSE/HAS A LOT OF PLAY. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH GLADIATORS AND WRANGLERS AS THE DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THEY HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THEM BEFORE AND THERE ARE A LOT OF OWNERS OF THESE MODELS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE ON PRACTICALLY NEW VEHICLES OR AT LOW MILEAGE.
MANUFACTURE SAFETY RECALL ISSUED NHTSA#21V-028, RECALL #Y07 2018-2020 JL & 2020 JT SOFTWARE UPDATE. THE IS STILL NO SOLUTION FROM JEEP. IT'S BEEN OVER 3 MONTHS.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED THE JEEP GLADIATOR AND THE STEERING SEEMS EXTREMELY LOOSE AS IF I DON'T HAVE CONTROL OVER 50 MPH. I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY MAKE CORRECTIONS WHEN DIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AS IT REQUIRES INTENSE FOCUS NOT TO VEER INTO OTHER LANES. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS THE LOOSENESS AND THEY EXPLAINED THAT THE STEERING BOX NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, IN WHICH THEY DID. NEEDLESS TO SAY; BECAUSE, I AM POSTING THIS COMPLAINT, THE STEERING STILL FEELS TOO LOOSE, MAKING ME REGRET PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE. THE STEERING PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY, IT IS TOO DANGEROUS.
I HAVE HAD THE JEEP GLADIATOR SINCE NOVEMBER 2019 AND IT HAS HAD MULTIPLE ENGINE ISSUES ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS LEADING UP TO WHAT I WAS TOLD WAS "BLOWN HEAD GASKETS". IT STARTED AFTER JUST A FEW MONTHS WITH LESS THAN 1000 MILES WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON. THE ENGINE WOULD ALSO RUN ROUGH. THEY BELIEVED IT WAS BAD FUEL. AT APPROXIMATELY 8 MONTHS THE SAME THING HAPPENED AT AROUND 3500 MILES. THIS TIME THE SAID IT WAS A BAD CYLINDER. NOW AT 14 MONTHS AND AT AROUND 8000 MILES MY HIGH TEMP LIGHT CAME ON OUT OF NO WHERE AND SMOKE APPEARED UNDER THE HOOD. I HAD PREVIOUSLY JOKED WITH THEM THAT THEY HAD JUST DISABLED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AS THAT NEVER CAME ON. I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 20 MILES PER HOUR AND PULLED INTO A GAS STATION. MEGEE MOTORS HAS FULL RECORDS OF THE ISSUES.
CURRENTLY ON MY 6TH BAD/DANGEROUS STEERING GEAR BOX. 4 BAD ALUMINUM & 2 BAD 'UPGRADED' STEEL BOXES. IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED BECAUSE OF THE GIANT DEAD-ZONE OR FREE-PLAY IN THESE BOXES. I THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WOULD BE FIXED WHEN THEY SWITCHED TO STEEL CONSTRUCTION, BUT I WAS SADLY MISTAKEN. THE PROBLEM REMAINS THAT THERE IS ZERO QUALITY CONTROL AT THE MANUFACTURING PLANT FOR THESE GEAR BOXES, AND IT'S FCA'S UNETHICAL PRACTICES THAT ARE TO BLAME. IMO. THEY COULD STEP UP TSB 08-074-20 TO A RECALL, BUT THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM STILL REMAINS. THESE UNETHICAL SCUM BAGS DO NOT CARE ONCE THEY HAVE OUR MONEY. CAN I CALL FOR A REAL FEDERAL INVESTIGATION INTO THE FCA ON THIS PLATFORM? WHEN YOUR KIDS RADIO FLYER WAGON HAS TIGHTER STEERING THAN YOUR BRAND NEW $50K JEEP, THERE'S A PROBLEM. ALL THE PLAY IS INSIDE THE STEERING BOX. I SENT ONE OF THESE BAD BOXES TO A SPECIALTY SHOP, AND HERE ARE THEIR FINDINGS........... THE BALL SIZING IN THE WORM GEAR NEEDS TO BE UPSIZED/RE-MACHINED TO GET THE PROPER FITMENT FOR NO FREEPLAY. THE PRELOAD ON THE VALVING WAS INCORRECT, THE VALVE WAS MISBALANCED, BEARING PRELOAD INCORRECT, THE ADJUSTMENT CAP FOR THE VALVING WAS NOT PROPERLY STAKED CAUSING IT TO TEAR UP THE THREADS, AND 'WE DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THE ENGINEERS THOUGHT THAT A STEERING GEAR, BUILT LIKE THAT WOULD BE OK'.
VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE RECALL, I AM PAYING A LOT OF MONEY FOR THIS JEEP THAT I DONT FEEL SAFE DRIVING AS IT CAN CATCH ON FIRE. THE FACT THAT THERE IS NO FIX RIGHT NOW IS RIDICULOUS. I HAVE DRIVEN JEEPS MY WHOLE LIFE AND NEVER HAD A LIFE THREATENING ISSUE LIKE THIS. IF THERE IS NO SOLID SOLUTION I WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER FCA AGAIN
THERE ARE NOW 2 RECALLS ON MANUAL TRANSMISSION CLUTCH FAILURES. ORIGINAL RECALL 20V124000 AND A NEW ONE 21V028000. BOTH ARE FOR CATASTROPHIC PRESSURE PLATE FAILURES FOR CLUTCH SLIPPING, OVERHEATING AND FRAGMENTING. WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO ALL THESE PRESSURE PLATES WHEN THE CLUTCH DISK WEARS DOWN OVER TIME AS IS NORMAL FOR A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND STARTS SLIPPING THEN? IT WILL MOST LIKELY OVERHEAT THESE PRESSURE PLATES AND CAUSE FAILURE THEN. IF THESE PRESSURE PLATES ARE DEFECTIVE THEY NEED TO BE COMPLETELY REPLACED AND NOT JUST REROUTE ELECTRICAL LINES AND REPROGRAM THE SOFTWARE TO LIMIT ENGINE TORQUE. FIX THE ISSUE!
I'VE OWNED MY GLADIATOR 6 MONTHS. I HAVE PUT JUST OVER 6,000 MILES ON IT, AND SINCE THE FIRST WEEK, IT HAS DRIVEN LIKE COMPLETE GARBAGE. IT WANDERS ALL OVER THE ROAD, AND CONSTANTLY NEEDS OVER STEER CORRECTION TO KEEP THE VEHICLE GOING STRAIGHT. AFTER DOING SOME LIGHT INVENSTIGATION, JEEP KNOWS THAT THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD ISSUE. THEY ISSUED A TSB REPAIR FOR THIS PROBLEM, AND I HAVE HAD IT COMPLETED. ONCE COMPLETED, THERE WAS NO NOTICEBLE DIFFERENCE. IF ANYTHING IT WAS WORSE. DRIVER FATIGUE IS EXPERIENCED WITH EVERY RIDE IN THE VEHICLE. IT HAS STEERING DEAD SPOTS AT 10 AND 2 ON THE STEERING WHEEL. THE STEERING WHEEL IS LIMP AND UNRESPONSIVE.
OUR 2020 JEEP GLADIATOR HAS A DEFROST ISSUE ONLY DEFROSTS CENTER AND IN WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS SNOW BUILDS UP IN THE VIEW OF THE DRIVER THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE JEEP FORUMS. AIR FLOW ONLY COMES OUT OF CENTER VERY LITTLE ON DRIVERS SIDE AND LITTLE ON PASSENGER SIDE. BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP TO HELP WITH ISSUE. THEN WAS TOLD THAT'S HOW IT'S DESIGNED. DUE TO SAFETY MY WIFE WILL NOT DRIVE LONG DISTANCE WHEN IT SNOWS JUST FIGURED ON ALL ISSUES JEEP WOULD HAVE A FIX FOR .
