STEERING MAKES A SQEAKING NOISE WHEN RIGHT HAND TURNS ARE MADE. DEALER HAS REPLACED GEAR BOX TWICE . THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. THE DEALER IS STARTING TO IGNORE ME AND REFUSING TO AKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM NOW THAT THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY.A FORMAL COMPLAINT WILL BE FILED WITH DAIMLER=CHRYSLER. *AK
FRONT ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES/ WERE RESURFACED ONCE, AND REAR ROTORS WERE REPLACED ONCE DUE TO VIBRATION IN VEHICLE.*AK CONSUMER STATED THAT THE PCV VALVE FAILED, FUEL FILTER FAILED, AND FRONT SHOCKS LEAKING FLUID AND REPLACED FRONT SHOCKS, ALSO THE TRANSMISSION PAN WAS LEAKING FLUID, WIPER BLADES WERE REPLACED.*YD
DUE TO PROBLEMS WITH ROTORS STEERING WILL START TO SHAKE. CONSUMER HAS HAD ROTORS REPLACED TWICE ALREADY. CONTACTED DEALER, AND THE DEALER KNEW ABOUT PROBLEM, BUT WOULD NOT FIX IT FOR FREE.*AK
WHEN APPLYING BRAKES THERE IS PULSATION AND STEERING WHEEL SHAKES. FRONT ROTORS WERE TURNED AT 10000 MILES, THEN REPLACED. AT THIS TIME, ROTORS NEEDED REPLACEMENT AGAIN DUE TO WARPING.*AK
REAR DIFFERENTIAL: COMPLETE LOCKUP AT 55 MPH !!! AS I TRAVELED DOWN A COUNTY HWY TO JUST OUTSIDE OF TOWN AFTER WORK. ALMOST KILLED 2 PEDESTRIANS AS THE BACK END SKIDDED 100 FT IN COMPLETE LOCKUP, DEALER REPLACING THE REAR AXLE AND LOOKING AT THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL SINCE IT SEEMS TO HAVE PROBLEMS CAUSED BY THIS SUDDEN FAILURE OF THE BACK. BRAKES: I HAVE HAD ROTORS TURNED 3 TIMES (TWICE BY DEALER UNDER WARRANTY AND ONCE BY INDEPENDENT SHOP) AND SINCE PURCHASED COMPLETE NEW ROTORS AND PADS ON ALL 4 TIRES WORK BY MIDAS DUE TO SEVERE PULSATION WHEN BRAKING. BRAKE ROTORS WARP AND WARP AND WARP. A $30,000 CAR/SUV WITH A BRAKING SYSTEM THAT IS A TOTAL ENGINEERING FAILURE. NOW WITH 40,000 MILES, I'VE HAD THE BRAKE ROTORS TURNED THREE TIMES! FRONT ROTORS HAVE WARPED 5 TIMES SINCE BUYING THE VEHICLE. *AK
DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS FAIL. THOUSANDS OF THESE VEHICLES HAVE DONE THIS. REAR TAIL LIGHTS QUIT WORKING. *TR
ON 2 OCCASIONS AND WHILE MAKING A NORMAL STOP WITH FOOT ON BRAKES , RPM'S WILL GO UP HIGH ,FEELS LIKE IT GOES TO THE MAXIMUM ,LASTING ABOUT 5 SECONDS AND THEN IT WILL GO BACK TO NORMAL. WHILE EXPERIENCING THE DEFECT, CONSUMER MUST STAND ON BRAKES, AND HOLD ON TO STEERING WHEEL TO KEEP CONTROL. DEALER CLAIMS CANNOT DUPLICATE DEFECT. DEALER HAS SCANNED SYSTEM FOR CODES, BUT NO CODES SHOWED UP ,PERFORMED TEST IAC PER STARR WHICH TESTED OKAY. ALSO, TOOK VEHICLE TO ROAD TEST FOR 562 MILES WHICH RAN ACCORDING TO SPECIFICATIONS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING, ENGINE STOPS AND LOCKS THE STEERING WHEEL RESULTING NO CONTROL ON THE JEEP.
2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE BRAKE ROTORS CONTINUE TO WARP CAUSING SEVERE PULSATION IN STEERING WHEEL DURING BRAKING, PARTICULARLY AT HIGHER SPEEDS. I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS DUE TO A DESIGN FLAW WHICH BEGAN IN THE 1999 MODEL AND HAS NOT YET BEEN CORRECTED IN NEW MODELS. DAIMLER-CHRYLSER WILL NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM, THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN BOISE IS KEENLY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. FIRST WARPING OCCURRED ON ALL 4 BRAKE ROTORS UNDER 4900 MILES. FRONT ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES AND RESURFACED TWICE, BACK ROTORS RESURFACED ONCE AND REPLACED ONCE, ALL WITHIN 36000 MILES. I AM CONCERNED THAT MY FAMILY AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD ARE AT RISK IF I AM UNABLE TO STOP AND/OR CONTROL THE VEHICLE. *AK
ONGOING PROBLEM WITH ENGINE STALLING WHILE TRAVELING AT ANY GIVEN SPEED. VEHICLE BEEN IN / OUT OF DEALER'S SHOP ON THREE OCCASIONS, AND PROBLEM IS REOCCURRING. *AK

WHEN BRAKING EXPERIENCING VIOLENT VIBRATION DURING DEACELERATION/ ROTORS ARE WARPED AT 26,000 MILES. DRIVING CONDITIONS EXPERIENCED BY VEHICLE ARE 80% HIGHWAY DRIVING.
THIS AUTOMOBILE SHUTS OFF THE ENGINE WHILE DRIVING. THERE ARE NO MECHANICAL INDICATORS OF THE PROBLEM. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THAT THE CAR HAS SIMPLY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS OCCURRENCE. *AK
TRANSMISSION WILL AUTOMATICALLY WITH GEAR WHILE DRIVING.*AK THE TRANSMISSION STARTED JERKING BETWEEN GEARS 1-2 AND 4-3. THE SUNFOOF SCREECHES WHEN CLOSING. THE FUEL CHIME LIGHT COMES ON AT QUARTER TANK. THE OVERHEAD COMPUTER READS INACCURATELY. *YH
VEHICLE HAS AN INTERMITTENT SHIFTING PROBLEMS. WHEN SLOWING DOWN, VEHICLE WILL JERK AS IT SEARCHES FOR GEARS. ALSO, IT SHIFTS DOWN ONE GEAR LOWER THAN IT SHOULD. DEALER HAS INSPECTED VEHICLE 4 TIMES, AND COULD NOT FIND CAUSE. *AK

THE CONSUMER IS EXPERIENCED A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES. THE PROBLEMS ARE AS FOLLOWED: SHIMMYING, SQUEAKING/SQUEALING IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM, SHIMMY/SHAKE IN THE STEERING WHEEL, AND WARPED ROTORS. THE VEHICLE IS WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO WAY POSSIBLE THAT THIS PROBLEM COULD BE COVERED BY WARRANTY, AND LEARNED FROM THE DEALER THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, WHICH IS A CALIPER PROBLEM. (WHICH INDICATES THAT THE PROBLEM WILL OCCUR AGAIN) THE ROTORS WERE REFACED AND RESURFACED, AND THE PADS WERE RESURFACED. REFER TO ODI#768226 *SCC
CONSUMER STATES THE FRONT AND BACK BRAKES WEAR EXCESSIVELY, WITHOUT EXCESSIVE USE. DEALER CONTACTED.*JB CONSUMER ADDS BRAKES HAD TO BE CHANGED THREE TIMES WITHIN THE LAST THREE YEARS. OWNER OF DEALERSHIP IS NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING. *TT

I HAVE TALKED WITH SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY HAVE HAD TO GET THE FRONT ROTORS GROUND BECAUSE THE ROTORS CAUSE A TERRIBLE VIBRATION WHEN WE PUSH DOWN ON THE BRAKES. DT
DT: SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAY, THERE WA S VIBRATION AND SHIMMYING WHEN BRAKING,. HAD THE ROTORS TURNED, REPLACED, AND TURNED AGAIN. IN MAY 2004 FOUND THAT ALL OF THE ROTORS WERE WARPED. IN NOVEMBER 2004, THEY DID FIND A VERY SLIGHT VIBRATION, BUT THEY DID NOTHING ABOUT IT. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES, AND IS TAKING WAS BACK IN NEXT WEEK. THIS RESULTED IN REPLACING THE TIRES EARLY.*AK
VEHICLE EXPERIENCINGPROBLEM WITH LACK OF ACCELERATION AND STALLING( 4.7 V8 ENGINE). VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE MORE THEN 20 MPH. VEHICLE BEEN IN /OUT OF DEALER SHOP ON THREE OCCASIONS, AND PROBLEM STILL GOES UNRESOLVED. *AK
VEHICLE LURCHES FORWARD INTERMITTENTLY FROM A STOP POSITION. VEHICLE BEEN TO DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, BUT PROBLEM STILL REOCCURRING. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
VEHICLE WAS STRUCK IN THE FRONT FENDER ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE, THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE WAS FLOODED WITH GAS AND SOAKED CLOTHING IN THE REAR CARGO AREA AND THE BACK SEAT WHEN THE VEHICLE FLIPPED OVER DURING ACCIDENT EVEN THOUGH THE GAS CAP WAS INTACT POSSIBLE FUEL TANK FAILURE. YH
THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM, THE REAR AXLE HAS A WHINING NOISE AT ALL SPEEDS BUT REALLY LOUD AT 50 TO 60 MPH. I'VE HAD THE DEALER WORK ON IT SIX TIMES THE ZONE MECHANIC ASSISTED THE LAST TWO TIMES AND THEN THEY WENT INTO THE FROUNT END, THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE FROUNT AXLE. *AK
FRONT BRAKE ROTORS WARPED AT 9,000 MILES, RESURFACED, WARPED AGAIN BY 18,000 MILES, ROTORS AND PADS REPLACED. WARPED AGAIN BY 23,000 MILES, DEALER REFUSED TO FIX. WARP CAUSED PULSATION AND STEERING WHEEL WOBBLE.*AK
EXCESSIVE DRIVELINE WHINE AT SPEEDS ABOVE 55MPH, WHEN ACCELERATING & DECELERRATING. VERY ANNOYING/ UNABLE TO REMEDY SITUATION WITH DEALER. CALLED JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE. NO HELP AT ALL, DEALER SAYS NORMAL.
THE SPEED CONTROL WILL NOT HOLD A CONSISTANT SPEED, IT WILL SLOWLY DROP IN SPEED ON LEVEL GROUND, DOWN HILL, AND UP HILL. WHEN THE SPEED DROPS TO A CERTAIN LEVEL THE TRANSMISSION WILL SHIFT TO A LOWER GEAR AND THEN FOUNDER SOME MORE. THE DEALERSHIP DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE UNIT FROM THEIR COMPUTER CHECKING. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES WITH NO LUCK. *AK
THE FRONT DISKCBRAKE ROTORS ARE WARPING CAUSING THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE TO WOBBLE AND BRAKING VERY ROUGH.*AK
ROTORS ON ALL FOUR BRAKES CONTINUALLY OVERHEAT AND WARP OUT OF SHAPE. CHRYSLER TURNED THE ROTORS ON THE REAR BRAKES THE FIRST AND THEN TURNED THE ROTORS ON THE FRONT. THEY WERE WARPED AGAIN WITH IN 3 OR 4 THOUSAND MILES. CHRYSLER THEN REPLACED THE ROTORS WITH A NEW MATERIAL ??? AND THEY LASTED UNTIL ABOUT 22000 MILES. THEN THEY STARTED TO WOBBLE AGAIN.*AK

VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN FOR THIS AND OTHER PROBLEMS. TIRES ARE BECOMING SEVERELY WORN. WAS TOLD THAT NEW BALL JOINT HAS BEEN INSTALLED. VEHICLE STILL PULLS RIGHT. ALL TIRES WERE CROSS ROTATED WHICH EVENS WEAR AND REDUCES PULL FOR SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES. I WILL CONTACT DEALER AND CHRYSLER DIRECT IN ATTEMPT TO HAVE PROBLEM RESOLVED. I AM ANGRY THAT THE TIRES ARE WEARING AT AN UNREASONABLE RATE WHICH WILL CAUSE PRE-MATURE REPLACEMENT. I LIKE THE VEHICLE AND WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE PROBLEM(S) RESOLVED SO IT DOES NOT CONTINUE TO DRIVE TO THE RIGHT. THANK YOU. FRONT WHEELS SHIMMY VIOLENTLY WHEN BRAKING AT 40-50 MPH CAUSING THE CAR TO BE HARD TO CONTROL. THIS IS CAUSED BY ROTOR OVERHEATING AND WARPING DUE TO DESIGN DEFECT. THERE WAS 75% PAD REMAINING AT 15,000 MILE SERVICE, I HAVE TOWING PACKAGE, AND I HAVE NEVER TOWED ANYTHING. THEREFORE MY DRIVING HABITS ARE NOT TO BLAME. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY UNSAFE DESIGN DEFECT THAT DOES NOT PROVIDE SUFFICIENT COOLING. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT JEEP IS IGNORING.
DRIVESHAFT AND YOKE ARE DEFECTIVE IN THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM TO CHRYSLER AND THE REFUSE TO FIX IT. I PAID OVER $39000 FOR MY VEHICLE, AND I'M CONVINCED THAT IT IS NOT SAFE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THERE ARE SEVERAL CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS UNDERWAY AGAINST JEEP FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. THEY HAVE EVEN SET UP COMPLAINT FORUMS IN SOME AUTOMOBILE REVIEW WEB SITES. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP YOU MAY BE ABLE TO PROVIDE IN THIS MATTER. CHRYSLER KNOWS OF THE PROBLEM BUT AFTER 4 SERVICE ATTEMPS THEY CANT FIX IT. *AK
THE FIRST WEEK I OWNED MY BRAND NEW VEHICLE, IT STARTED CLUNKING AND JERKING. SEVERAL WEEKS LATER, THEY REPLACED THE DRIVE SHAFT. I CONTINUE TO HAVE SIMILAR AND OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION, GEAR SHIFTING, BRAKES, ETC...I INQUIRED OF THE DEALERSHIP WHETHER OR NOT THERE WERE ANY REPORTED MANUFACTURERS DEFECTS AND THEY SAID NO. THEY LIED.
VEHICLE INVOLVED IN A REAR COLLISION OF 45 MPH IMPACT WHILE WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. UPON IMPACT, BOTH AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. ALSO, DRIVER'S SEATBACK REST COLLAPSED, CAUSING DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL AND COLLIDE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED DUE TO ACCIDENT. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
CONTINUAL PROBLEM WITH BRAKES. WARPED ROTORS,NUMEROUS PAD REPLACEMENT, PROBLEM CAUSES SEVERE VIBRATION WHEN BRAKING, AND CAUSES VEHICLE TO JERK. ALSO NOW IS SHIFTING AFTER COMING TO A STOP WHILE IN DRIVE, FEELS LIKE VEHICLE HAS BEEN HIT IN REAR. *AK

CONSUMER COMPLAINT CONCERNING THE ELECTRIC RADIATOR FAN FAILURE. *TS THE CONSUMER WAS DENIED REIMBURSEMENT BECAUSE ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER, NO FAN BLADES WERE PHYSICALLY BROKEN. THE CONSUMER STATED EVEN THOUGH NO FANS WERE BROKEN, HE STILL EXPERIENCED EXTREME ENGINE OVERHEATING. *JB
JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE CUSTOMER IS LOOKING FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR BRAKE PULSATION PROBLEMS**NAR**CC THE CONSUMER WROTE IN ABOUT 2 JEEPS THAT SHE OWNS. THE CONSUMER STARTED HEARING SOUNDS AT 15 THOUSANDS MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A SOFT PEDAL. IT WASN'T UNTIL 46,000 MILES THAT THE ROTORS HAD TO BE RESURFACED. AT 53,000 MILES THE BRAKES BEGAN PULSATING AND THE DEALER RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE ROTORS WHEN THE PADS WERE DUE FOR CHANGE, IN WHICH THE CONSUMER WAS CHARGED FOR THE INSPECTION AND ALSO STATED IT WAS A NORMAL JEEP PROBLEM. THE CONSUMERS SECOND JEEP ALSO NEEDED REAR ROTORS BECAUSE THEY WERE WARPED.(2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE) *JB
2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WITH A RECALL FOR THE FAN. THE CUSTOMER STATED HE WENT TO HAVE THE FAN REPLACED, HOWEVER AFTER HE LEFT THE DEALER AND DROVE 10 MILES, THE RADIATOR WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF WATER. *KB THE CONSUMER RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST $500.00 TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR. THE CONSUMER STATED HE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED UNDER RECALL.*JB
ENGINE DIFFICULT TO START WHEN HOT. WHEN ENGINE IS HOT AND YOU LET SIT FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AND TRYING TO RESTART, IT TURNS OVER BUT ACTS AS STARVED OF FUEL. NOW TURN THE KEY OFF AND TRY TO RESTART, IT WILL START BUT SOMETIMES CHOKES DOWN THEN SHUTTERS UP TO RECOMMENDED IDLE SPEED.
