IGNITION SWITCH STICKS AND HARD TO TURN, ALSO HAVE SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. STARTER KEEPS TURNING.
THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTS OUT OF ITS GEAR AS IF THE LOCKING MECHANISM OF THE SHIFTER IS NOT WORKING.

I REPORTED THIS PROBLEM A MONTH OR SO AGO ABOUT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT BREAKING AND BREAKING OFF THE VEHICLE FRAME. PLUS THE A/C ISSUE UNDER THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT OVERHEATS AND MELTS THE MECHANISM AND CONTINUES TO BURN. WHEN I REPORTED THE ISSUE, NO WRECK WAS INVOLVED. SINCE REPORTING THE PROBLEM, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND TOTALED. MY FIX APPARENTLY ALLOWED THE SEAT TO STAY ON THE FRAME BUT THE SEAT STILL BROKE. FORTUNATELY, NO SERIOUS INJURY, ONLY SORE NECK AND BUMP TO THE HAND.

MY CAR WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR R06/NHTSA 15V-046 RECALL 3 TIMES SINCE MARCH 2015. EACH TIME THE ITEM TO REPAIR THE RECALL WAS ON BACK ORDER AND RECALL COULD NOT BE FIXED. CONTINUED CALLS TO THE DEALER WAS "THEY WILL CONTACT ME WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. THE LAST TIME WAS ON OCTOBER 7, 2016 STILL UNABLE TO FIX DUE TO BACK ORDER PARTS. WHAT CAN I DO???

WIRES GET HOT THAT LEAD TO THE HEATER/AC FAN. THE INSULATION OF WIRE AND CONNECTOR MELTS. THIS CAUSES THE HEATER TO GO OFF AND BACK ON INTERMITTENTLY AND FREQUENTLY UNLESS YOU WIGGLE THE WIRES. WIGGLING THE CONNECTOR WILL HELP FOR SHORT PERIODS OF TIME. THIS OCCURS WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING(DOES NOT HAVE TO BE MOVING) AND THE BLOWER IS ON. I HAVE TRIED TO PRESS IN THE CONNECTOR OR WIGGLE THE CONNECTOR WHILE DRIVING AND THIS IS A DISTRACTION. THIS HAS HAPPENED CONSISTENTLY BEGINNING ABOUT A MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR. THE LOCATION OF THE CONNECTOR IS UNDER THE GLOVE BOX AREA. THERE ARE MANY INSTANCES ON THE INTERNET THAT DISCUSS THIS ISSUE.

CONTACTED LOCAL JEEP DEALER, EVERY TIME THEY PUT ME OFF SAYING IT IS NOT APART OF THE RECALL AND WILL NOT FIX MY PROBLEM. MAKES TWICE THEY HAVE DONE SO.

IF MY AIRBAG COULD DEPLOY INADVERTENTLY YOU'D THINK THEY'D WANT TO BRING IT IN RIGHT AWAY BUT, GUESS NOT. I GUESS THE COMPANY WOULD LIKE MORE LAWSUITS BECAUSE I'M ASSUMING EVERYONE ELSE IS HAVING THIS ISSUE IN MY AREA. HOPEFULLY THEY PULL THEIR HEADS OUT THEIR ASSES AND MAKE RECALL NOTICES A PRIORITY OR BRING IN SOME MORE TECHNICIANS TO MAKE TIME FOR THE RECALLS.

I WAS SITTING AT A RED LIGHT AND UPON THE LIGHT TURNING GREEN I TURNED TO THE RIGHT AND WAS ABOUT TO MERGE INTO THE LEFT LANE WHEN BOTH AIRBAGS EXPLODED FOR NO REASON. NO ONE WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT NOR WAS THERE ANY OTHER CARS CLOSE BY THAT I COULD HAVE HIT. THE BAG BURST WITH SUCH FORCE THAT I SAW STARS FOR A SECOND. DAMAGE LEFT ME WITH A BRUISED CHEEK, CUT ARM AND BRUISED HAND ALONG WITH A SORE CHEST PAIN. THE SMELL AND SMOKE FROM THE AIR BAG FILLED MY VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH I COULD STILL SEE IT WAS FOGGY. IT HAPPENED RIGHT NEAR MY HOME SO I WAS ABLE TO PARK THE CAR. THE SOUND WAS LIKE SOMEONE WAS SHOOTING A GUN AT MY CAR. THE RESULT IS CHRYSLER DOES HAVE A RECALL ON THESE AIRBAGS, THEY HAVE MY VEHICLE BUT ARE UNABLE TO FIND THE PARTS TO MAKE REPAIRS. THE FORCE WAS SO HARD THAT IT DAMAGED MY WHOLE DASHBOARD. CHRYSLER DEALER NOW HAS MY CAR AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THEY WILL NEED TO DO AN INVESTIGATION ON "THEIR RECALLED AIRBAGS" AND DO NOT KNOW WHEN OR IF THEY WILL BE ABLE TO GET MY CAR FIXED NOR ARE THEY WILLING TO PROVIDE ME WITH TRANSPORTATION DURING THIS TIME. I AM A PROPERTY MANAGER AND COULD LOOSE MY JOB OVER THEIR NEGLIGENCE.

THE POWER DRIVER'S SEAT RETAINING BRACKETS HAVE BROKEN AND HAVE CREATED A VERY UNSAFE DRIVING SITUATION. RESEARCHING THIS BREAKAGE ONLINE REVEALS A WIDESPREAD SAFETY HAZARD THAT IS NOT BEING DEALT WITH BY JEEP. A RECALL SHOULD BE MADE DUE TO THE HIGH FREQUENCY OF THE BREAKAGE OF A CAR'S SAFETY FEATURES, WHICH I HAD NEVER ENCOUNTERED BEFORE ... A DRIVER'S SEAT RETAINING BRACKETS FAILING DUE TO INSUFFIECIENTLY STRONG METAL USED BY THE MANUFACTURER.

ON MARCH 8, 2016, WHILE DRIVING NORTHBOUND ON INTERSTATE 49 IN HARRISONVILLE, MO, THE ENGINE SPEED RACED WHEN TAKEN OFF CRUISE CONTROL. THE JEEP STAYED AT HIGHWAY SPEED -- ABOVE 60MPH -- AND EVEN PRESSING THE BRAKES DID NOT SLOW DOWN THE JEEP. THE ONLY WAY I WAS ABLE TO GET THE JEEP UNDER CONTROL WAS TO TURN OFF THE ENTIRE ENGINE IGNITION. ONLY BY EXERTING EFFORT TO OVERCOME AND COMPENSATE FOR THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES WAS I ABLE TO COAST TO A SAFE STOP OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE TOW OPERATOR WHO RESPONDED ATTEMPTED TO START THE ENGINE BUT FOUND THE SAME RESULT ' RUNAWAY ENGINE REVS. THE JEEP WAS TOWED TO DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT EVENING. THE NEXT MORNING, SERVICE ADVISOR INVESTIGATED AND DETERMINED THAT THE THROTTLE PEDAL WAS STUCK DOWN TO THE FLOOR. HE LOOSENED IT BY MANIPULATION. THE THROTTLE BUTTERFLY VALVE WAS FOUND TO BE STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION BY A SHREDDED PIECE OF RUBBER THAT FLAKED OFF THE RESONATOR BODY INTAKE CONNECTOR. SERVICE DEPARTMENT PERFORMED: 'RUBBER FROM INTAKE SEAL STUCK THROTTLE BODY. REMOVED DEBRIS'. THE TECHNICIAN SHOWED ME THE PIECE OF SHREDDED RUBBER AND GAVE IT TO ME. I KEPT IT, AND THE ENTIRE DEFECTIVE RESONATOR BODY, IN MY POSSESSION. THERE MAY BE OTHER REPORTS OF RUNAWAY ENGINE REVS BUT THIS INSTANCE SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO THE DESIGN OF THE RESONATOR INTAKE PATHWAY. ALTHOUGH MY JEEP HAS 246,289 MILES ON IT, THE DEFECT WAS NOT A RESULT OF WEAR BUT SEEMS TO BE RESULT OF DEFECTIVE DESIGN. THE INTAKE AIR PATHWAY IS SUBJECT TO SHREDDING RUBBER PARTS WHICH CAN COME LOOSE, ENTER THE INTAKE AIR PATHWAY AND BLOCK THE THROTTLE BUTTERFLY. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN UNNECESSARILY HAZARDOUS DESIGN.

TAKATA RECALL THE SEATS STOPPED HEATING AND GOT REALLY HOT IN ONE SPOT I PULLED THE SEAT COVER UP AND IT BURNED A SPOT IN ME SEAT COVER AND FOAM UNDERNEATH WHERE THE WIRE IS RUN THRU THE SEATS IT IS ON BOTH THE DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE SEATS THERE IS A RECALL ON THE HEATED SEATS ON SOME MODELS BUT NOT ON MINE BUT IT COULD HAVE BURNED ME OR MY KIDS OR COULD HAVE CAUGHT THE CAR ON FIRE.
I HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL SAFETY RECALL NOTICES (R06 / NHTSA 15V-046) FOR THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE CALLED MY JEEP DEALERSHIP (GARLITCH NORTH VERNON, IN) SERVICE DEPARTMENT SEVERAL TIMES SINCE FEB. 15, 2016 TO GET THE NEEDED REPAIR. THEY NEVER CALL BACK TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT OR EXPLAIN WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER 10 MONTHS, NOT A REASONABLE TIME TO MAKE A SAFETY RECALL REPAIR. CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHAT THE PROBLEM IS ?

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 182,378.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS RECALL PART R06 FOREVER. I CAN NOT PASS THE RI STATE INSPECTION WITH OUT IT. NOW I HAVE TO PRAY I MAKE IT TO WORK WITHOUT GETTING PULLED OVER. THIS IS NOT CONSUMERS PROBLEM SO WHY AM I PAYING THE PRICE.

OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL RECALL - I JUST HAD THIS PART REPLACED AT A JEEP DEALERSHIP. WHEN I TURNED MY VEHICLE ON, I NOTICED THAT BOTH THE AIRBAG AND SEATBELT LIGHTS ARE STILL ON. I IMMEDIATELY WENT BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE EMPLOYEE AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WERE ONLY AUTHORIZED TO REPLACE THE MODULE AND REFUSED TO TELL ME WHETHER THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED OR IF MY AIRBAGS ARE PROPERLY FUNCTIONING. HOW CAN I KNOW FOR SURE IF THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN RESOLVED IF THE LIGHTS WHICH INDICATED THE PROBLEM ARE STILL ON?
I WAS DRIVING AND HEAT STOPPED FLOWING AND A/C STOPPED FLOWING. IT IS WINTER TIME SO THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WAS UNABLE TO DEFROST, LEAVING THE WINDSHIELD FOGGY AND HAZARDOUS TO DRIVE IN.
