I RECEIVED THE SAFETY RECALL REGARDING MY AIR BAGS. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO SULLIVAN'S NORTHWEST HILLS DEALERSHIP IN TORRINGTON, CT, ON 12/17/15 AND 1/28/16. THEY SAY THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS YET. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND HAVING PASSENGERS WITH ME UNTIL I CAN GET THE AIRBAG FIXED
VECHILE HAS 167,000 MILES ON IT. JUST THIS PAST MONTH AFTER PUTTING ON A NEW TENSION PULLEY THE AIRBAG AND SEATBELT LIGHTS CAME ON. WAS NOT AWARE OF ANY RECALL UNTIL WATCHING THE NEWS TONIGHT AND FOUND THIS WEBSITE. DID NOT RECEIVE ANY TYPE OF NOTIFICATIONS THAT I WAS READING ABOUT. HAVING ALOT OF OTHER ISSUES WITH VECHILE AS WELL.

FCA WILL NOT PROVIDE ME WITH A RENTAL VEHICLE UNTIL MY VEHICLE IS FIXED, KNOWING THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH MY AIR BAG SYSTEM, AS WELL AS MY SRS, KNOWING THAT MY AIR BAG COULD GO OFF AT ANYTIME, CAUSING A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING. I WILL NOT ENDANGER MYSELF OR MY FAMILY BY DRIVING A VEHICLE THAT I AND FCA KNOWS COULD CAUSE A CRASH.

THIS IS THE 2ND TIME I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. THE HEATER/BLOWER/VENT SYSTEM FAILED AND NO HOT AIR COMES OUT THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR INCLUDING THE DEFROSTER WHICH IS DANGEROUS. IT TURNS OUT THAT THERE ARE CHEAP PLASTIC TEMPERATURE DOORS ON THE HEATING SYSTEM UNDER THE DASH THAT BREAK. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON 1999-2004 JEEPS WITH DUAL HEATING SYSTEMS. I HAD THIS REPAIR DONE AT 72,500 MILES AND NOW AGAIN AT 141,900 MILES. BOTH TIMES THE REPAIR WAS ABOUT $1500. THE REPAIRS WERE DONE ON NOV 9, 2009 AND DEC 2, 2015. I AM TAKING THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER TODAY BECAUSE THE AIR IS STILL NOT COMING OUT OF THE VENTS PROPERLY. I WAS CHECKING ABOUT RECALLS BEFORE I GO TO THE DEALER, AND I JUST FOUND THIS WEBSITE THAT DESCRIBES THE COMMON PROBLEM AND A LOW COST WAY TO FIX IT YOURSELF. TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED A NOVEMBER 25, 2015 RECALL NOTICE. I HAVE CONTACTED MY DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES AND EACH TIME I AM TOLD THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. WE ARE NOW ALMOST 5 MONTHS LATER AND I CALLED AGAIN TODAY AND STILL NO PART. I HAVE TWO CHILDREN THAT RIDE IN THIS CAR DAILY AND I AM VERY UNCOMFORTABLE KNOWING THE AIRBAG COULD DEPLOY AT ANYTIME AND ENDANGER OUR LIVES. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY IT IS TAKING 5 PLUS MONTHS TO HAVE PARTS AVAILABLE AND WHEN I ASK WHEN TO EXPECT THIS TO BE RESOLVED I AM TOLD THEY HAVE NO IDEA. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

LAST YEAR, 11/25/2015, I TOOK MY 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE TO A JACKSONVILLE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE ORC MODULE REPLACED TO PREVENT AN INADVERTENT DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE A REPLACEMENT PART LAST YEAR AND WHEN I CHECKED WITH THEM TODAY, 11/2/2016, THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE A REPLACEMENT PART. IS THIS SOME KIND OF JOKE...MY AUTOMOBILE HAS THE POTENTIAL OF AN INADVERTENT DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAGS, AND POSSIBILITY OF CAUSING A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING, AND ALL DEALERSHIPS HAVE NOT PROVIDED A REPLACEMENT PART FOR THIS RECALL IN ALMOST A YEAR? JEEP ACCELERATED WITHOUT STEPPING ON GAS. ACCELERATOR CABLE DID NOT SEEM TO OPERATE SMOOTHLY, WHEN APPLYING, FELT SOMEWHAT "ROUGH/NOTHY" OWNER AGREED TO CHANGE AS SUGGESTED. CABLE CHANGED TOTAL $477.39 IN 5/2010.THIS TIME CAR WAS TOWED TO JEEP DEALER. C. STATED JEEP ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN, TOWED IN. JAN. 13,11 JEEP TOWED IN TO JEEP DEALER FOR BUCKING AND ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN, NO ISSUE WAS FOUND. MAY 13,11 TOWED INTO JEEP DEALER, CHANGED SEVERAL COMPONENTS AND $1,074.68, NEVER HAD A DEFINITE ANSWER, AND AFTER EACH INCIDENT TOOK ITS TOLL ON MY NERVES, SCARED TO DEATH TO DRIVE MY JEEP, WHICH I PURCHASED TO MAKE OUR FAMILY SAFE. FAST FORWARD, 11/23/2015 THIS JEEP ONCE AGAIN STARTED ACCELERATING AND RACING IN PARK AND WITH THE HAND BRAKE UP. MY JEEP HAS 64,K AND IS TAKEN CARE OF, LOOKS GREAT. BUT, ONCE AGAIN I CANNOT RISK PUTTING MY FAMILY OR MYSELF IN IT TO DRIVE. I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS STORIES LIKE THIS AND SOME A LOT WORSE. MY INSTINCTS WERE TO JUST SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND I DID ALL4 TIMES OVER THE YEARS. I AM NOW ON A FIXED INCOME AND WOULD LOVE TO BE HAPPY AND KEEP THIS JEEP GRAND CHEROEE BUT, I CAN NO LONGER TAKE THIS CHANCE. I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE MUST DIE OR HOW MANY ACCIDENTS HAVE TO HAPPEN BEFORE CHRYSLER WAKES UP AND RECALLS, I'M GUESSING THEY DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT TO FIX. I ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY TAIL LIGHTS AND HAD REPAIRS SEVERAL TIME, WHEN I GOT A TICKET AFTER IT WAS ALREADY FIXED A FEW TIMES I HAD TO PAY. FAILED NJ INSPECTION 1 TIME DUE TO WHAT THEY CALLED A WIG WAG, WHICH JEEPS ARE KNOW FOR, WHO OUT THERE IS ON THE CONSUMERS SIDE, NO ONE IT APPEARS. NO RECALLS ON THIS THIS BUT, THEY WILL GET BACK TO ME ON A PASSENGER RESTRAINT MODULE, MAYBE NEXT YEAR 2016, IF WE ARE LUCKY. ALL 4 TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN AND THE ONLY THING THAT WORKED WAS SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE USING THE KEY. MY VEHICLE MUST BE SAFE FOR GRANDCHILD.

WAS CONTACTED BY JEEP ABOUT RECALL SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. HAVE CONTACTED THEM TO SCHEDULE REPAIR AND THEY SAY THE PARTS NOT AVAILABLE YET. CONTACTED JEEP RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER AND THEY CANNOT GIVE ANY TIME FRAME FOR MAKING THE PART AVAILABLE. SEEMS TO ME IT HAS BEEN LONG ENOUGH THAT THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO GIVE SOME KIND OF TIME FRAME FOR A REPAIR.

I PURCHASED AT FROM MICHIGAN AUTO WHEEL & TIRES (MAWT) AT 38190 VAN DYKE AVE, STERLING HEIGHTS, MI 48310 AND HAD THEM MOUNTED, BALANCED, AND INSTALLED ON MY VEHICLE IN PREPARATION FOR MY VACATION TRIP. WHILE ON MY TRIP ONE OF THE TIRES WENT FLAT. WHEN I HAD THE TIRE REPLACED, I LEARNED THAT THE 4 TIRES WERE NOT NEW, BUT WERE ALL ABOUT 5 YEAR OLD AND EACH HAD A PATCHES ON THE SIDEWALL. WHEN REPUTABLE DEALERS HAVE A TIRE THAT AGES OUT OF THEIR INVENTORY AT APPROXIMATELY 5 YEARS, THEY DESTROY THE TIRE BY DRILLING THE SIDEWALL. THEY PAY A RECYCLER TO DISPOSE OF THE TIRE. IN MY CASE, THE TIRES HAD NO SIGN OF WEAR AND APPEARED NEW. IT APPEARS THAT MAWT IS INVOLVED IN PURCHASING SCRAP TIRES AND REPAIRING THEM, OR PURCHASING REPAIRED SCRAP TIRES, AND SELLING THEM AS NEW. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PRACTICE. I HAVE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND DOCUMENTATION.
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN NOVEMBER OF 2015 ABOUT MY AIRBAGS SO I IMMEDIATELY CALLED DICK HANNAH JEEP WHO TOLD ME THAT THE PARTS WEREN'T RELEASED YET AND THAT SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME. I HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT IT BECAUSE THEY SAID THEY WOULD CALL ME ONCE THEY HAD IT. LAST WEEK I WAS GOING THROUGH MY PAPERWORK AND FOUND THE RECALL SO I CONTACTED JEEP ON TWITTER WHO SAID THE PARTS WERE IN FACT AVAILABLE.SO I TOLD THEM AND THEY STILL SAID THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE SO I TOLD THEM THAT MAKES NO SENSE JEEP SAID THAT THEY ARE AND THEY CHECKED AND THEN HERE WE ARE 10/15/16 FINALLY GETTING IT DONE. SO I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THIS CAR SINCE THEN AND I COULD HAVE DIED.
I UNDERSTAND THAT THE NHTSA IS REQUIRING FCA TO EXTEND THE $100 GIFT CARD OFFER TO OWNERS OF THESE SUV OR TO INSTALL A REAR TRAILER HITCH TO PREVENT GAS TANK EXPLOSION IN THE EVENT OF A REAR COLLISION. I RECEIVED A CARD FROM JEEP, CALLED THE HOTLINE BUT THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THERE ARE NO REMEDIES AVAILABLE FOR THE 2004 GRAND CHEROKEE. ARE THERE ANY OTHER RECOURSES AVAILABLE TO ME OR IS THE IFORMATION I AM GETTING FROM FCA CORRECT?
THERE HAS BEEN AN OPEN AIRBAG RECALL, WHERE THE AIRBAG COULD DEPLOY WITHOUT CAUSE, SINCE NOVEMBER 2015. CHRYSLER HAS YET TO COME OUT WITH A FIX FOR IT. WE FEEL UNSAFE HAVING OUR FAMILY IN THE VEHICLE UNTIL THERE IS A FIX. SIX MONTHS SHOULD BE MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME FOR THEM TO HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM.
