THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY JEEP HAS BEEN SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR WHILE DRIVING FREQUENTLY AND ALL THE CAR DOES IS REV, AS IF IT IS IN NEUTRAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED OFF AND ON OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE ABOUT IT. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY TELL ME THAT EVERYTHING IS FIXED. THEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN WHEN I LEAST EXPECT IT. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS FOR THIS TO BE HAPPENING WHILE I'M DRIVING WITH MY 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN THE CAR. I CALLED THE CHRYSLER RECALL NUMBER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND TO JUST TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHICH I HAVE ALREADY DONE SEVERAL TIMES AND AM TIRED OF WASTING MY MONEY. THIS IS HAPPENING TO MY CAR AND I DON'T WANT TO WAIT UNTIL AN ACCIDENT HAPPENS. I WILL CONTINUE TO LOG COMPLAINTS AND DOCUMENT EACH TIME THIS HAPPENS UNTIL SOMETHING IS DONE. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR FAILED TO RESPOND TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS AS ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,667.
WHILE DRIVING JEEP LOST ALL POWER THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES I TOOK IT BACK TO DEALER BUT THEY DIDN'T FIND ANY THING THIS LAST TIME IT WAS IN A REAR END ACCIDENT SO CHRYSLER TOOK IT BACK TO INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM THE DEALER HAS HAD FOR A TOTAL OF OVER 9 WEEKS AND STILL DON'T HAVE A ANSWER FOR IT I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO KNOW CAN YOU HELP.
MY PREGNANT WIFE HAS HAD THIS ISSUE BEFORE WITH THE CAR AND WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WITHOUT ANYONE BEING ABLE TO FIX IT. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 15-60 MPH THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN. NO POWER STEERING, BRAKES, OR ELECTRICAL. YOU HAVE TO THROW IT IN NEUTRAL AND START IT BACK UP. THIS HAS TO BE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE AS OTHER QUIRKY THINGS HAVE BEEN HAPPENING AS WELL SUCH AS THE HEADLIGHTS WILL FLICKER ON AND OFF AND THE VOLUME AND STATIONS SELECTORS ON THE STEERWHEEL OFTEN DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT JEEP NEEDS TO IDENTIFY AND FIX. VERY SCARY TO BE GOING 50-60 MPH AND LOSE CONTROL OF YOUR CAR GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. OVER THE PAST TWO DAYS THIS HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH ONLINE AS WELL AND THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER JEEP OWNERS THAT HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE. JEEP NEEDS TO HAVE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. I AM SHOCKED THAT THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED YET. *TR
AFTER N23 RECALL WAS PERFORMED, MY JEEP WILL NOT ENGAGE IN 4WHEEL DRIVE LO. ON STARTUP IT STATES, "SERVICE 4WD SYSTEM". MANY PEOPLE ARE REPORTED THE SAME PROBLEM. THE CAR WILL NOT SHIFT INTO 4WD LOW OR INTO NEUTRAL FOR TOWING. CHRYSLER ERROR CODE IS C140F AND IT IS EVEN LISTED IN THE REPROGAM INSTRUCTIONS. I DID NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE PRIOR TO THE N23 RECALL. *TR
TL * THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRANSMISSION MADE A LOUD SOUND. THE CONTACT STATED THE FAILURE BEGAN AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER A MANUFACTURER RECALL FOR THE GEAR BOX. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, HOWEVER THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL ROAD & WEATHER CONDITIONS THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHUTTING OFF & ON SOMETIMES RESULTING IN A COMPLETE STALL THAT REQUIRED RESTARTING THE ENGINE AFTER ROLLING ONTO THE SHOULDER WITHOUT ANY POWER! WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE THAT DETAILS THEIR RECOMMENDATION THAT IT SHOULD BE DRIVEN WITHOUT ONLY THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AS A TEMPORARY APPROACH. THE PROBLEM PERSIST EVEN UNDER THIS PRECAUTION & HAS BECOME WORSE! DRIVER HAS TO HOLD THE KEY WHILE DRIVING WHEN IT STARTS TO SHUT DOWN TO AVOID THE STALL.

A RECALL (N23) WAS ISSUED (JULY 2013) BY CHRYSLER CORP. TO RESOLVE A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSFER CASE NOT ENGAGING 4LOW AND / OR SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL. ALL THIS HAPPENS AT RANDOM. ONCE THE IN-DASH WARNING OF "SERVICE 4WD SYSTEM" APPEARS, THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE RETURNED TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR. AFTER TWO ATTEMPTS THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. A THIRD APPOINTMENT IS SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY JANUARY 17. VARIOUS INVESTIGATING (INTERNET) SUGGESTS THAT MOST THAT HAVE RETURNED THEIR VEHICLES FOR CORRECTION HAVE ALSO NOT BEEN RESOLVED. CHRYSLER CORP. HAS BEEN UNRESPONSIVE TO VARIOUS COMMUNICATION FROM MANY JEEP OWNERS AND THE JEEP DEALERSHIPS ARE NOT COMMUNICATING TO THE FACTORY REGARDING THE MANY COMPLAINTS. I WANT TO SELL THIS VEHICLE AND WITH THE RECALL LIABILITY NOT BEING RESOLVED I'M UNABLE TO SELL IT. *TR

DESINTEGRATING DOOR PANELS, ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION THAT COULD CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL IN TRAFFIC, WHAT NEXT. CHRYSLER MAINTAINS THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR THESE KNOWN SAFETY HAZARDS. CRAZY. RE: SAFETY RECALL M35/NHTSA 12V-527 I RECEIVED THE AFOREMENTIONED RECALL NOTICE 3 MONTHS AGO. I HAVE CALLED THE KEY WEST DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES TO ARRANGE TO GET THE PROBLEM FIXED ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT CHRYSLER WAS STILL TRYING TO RESOLVE THE TECHNICAL ISSUE. TODAY I CALLED THE MARION, NC DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT CHRYSLER WOULD ONLY ALLOW THEM TO FIX ONE PER WEEK AND THAT THEY HAD 6 AHEAD OF ME. MEANTIME I AM DRIVING A MY JEEP VEHICLE WITH THE SERVICE AIRBAG ICON LIT UP. I CAN'T WAIT 6-8 WEEKS TO GET THIS REPAIR DONE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

STILL NO WORK. 10/7/13 & 10/8/13 80856 MILES, AFTER RECALL FIX FDCM CODE C140F IS ACTIVE ' DEALER PERFORMED CODE ERASURE 12/6/13 85,085 MILES, SERVICE WRITER [XXX] CHECKED WIRING AND INSTALL OF T-CASE MOTOR. 2 CODES C1405 & C140F ' WANT TO REPLACE MOTOR AND RETEST. MOTOR ON BACK ORDER. 12/27/14 CALLED CUSTOMER CARE, THEY STARTED A FILE CARE# . NEW ACTUATOR SHOULD BE IN 3/21/14. THEY OFFERED ME A FREE OIL CHANGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TWICE AND THEY STATED THAT THE TRANSFER CASE ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. APPROXIMATELY 9 MONTHS AGO OUR GRAND CHEROKEE BEGAN HAVING RANDOM ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THE FIRST SYMPTOMS TO APPEAR WERE WITH THE DASH BOARD PANEL AND VEHICLE GAUGES. SPEEDOMETER AND RPM GAGE WOULD BOUNCE BACK AND FORTH TOGETHER FROM 0 TO 75% BACK TO ZERO...WHEN THE VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING THESE ISSUES, THE ODOMETER DOES NOT RECORD MILEAGE. THE DOOR LOCKS AND FRONT WINDOWS DON'T OPERATE. THE HEADLIGHTS WILL SPORADICALLY TURN ON AND OFF WITHOUT BEING IN THE VEHICLE. THE STEREO WILL SHUT DOWN. TURN SIGNALS WILL "STICK" IF THEY ARE BEING USED WHEN VEHICLE HAS IT'S ISSUE. LOSS OF POWER HAS ALSO HAPPENED. ON A FEW OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START, ONE TIME FOR 3 DAYS. BATTERY TESTED GOOD AT THE SHOP. WITHOUT DOING A THING, DAY #4 IT STARTED FINE. WHEN ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ACTS UP LOSS OF MAJOR CONTROL FUNCTIONALITY OCCURS. OBVIOUS RESULTS OF THAT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON THE FREEWAY DON'T NEED MENTIONING. ONLINE COMPLAINTS IN THE HUNDREDS YET JEEP HAS "NO CLUE"? UNFORTUNATELY, THIS ISSUE WILL ULTIMATELY CAUSE LOSS OF LIFE IF IT HASN'T ALREADY. *TR
WAS NOTIFIED OF A SAFETY RECALL INVOLVING A FAULTY IGNITION. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER WAS TOLD THE PART WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. TWO YEARS LATER THE PART IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE. I HAVE CONTACTED SEVERAL LOCAL DEALERS AND THEY SAY THEY CAN'T HELP ME. PLEASE HELP!

CHRYSLER ISSUED A N23 RECALL NOTICE DUE TO CRACKING CIRCUIT BOARDS IN THE TRANSFER CASE ACTUATOR (VEHICLE MAY INADVERTENTLY SHIFT IN TO NEUTRAL). PRIOR TO THE APPLICATION OF THIS RECALL MY VEHICLE WAS CAPABLE OF ENGAGING 4LO. AFTERWARDS (IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS IN THE DEALERSHIP PARKING LOT) THE TRANSFER CASE WOULD NOT SHIFT. EACH ATTEMPT WOULD RESULT IN A "SERVICE 4XD SYSTEM" AND WOULD TRIGGER A C140F TROUBLE CODE. CHRYSLER REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE RECALL FLASH TO BE THE ISSUE. FROM JEEP FORUMS I HAVE FOUND MYSELF TO BE ONE OF HUNDREDS IF NOT MORE THAT ENCOUNTERED THIS ISSUE. THIS RECALL IS IN ESSENCE A SOFTWARE WORK-AROUND FOR A HARDWARE ISSUE. THIS RECALL IS OBVIOUSLY A CHEAP ATTEMPT AT FIXING A COSTLY ISSUE OF REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE ACTUATORS WITH NEW. AS A CONSUMER I EXPECT THE MANUFACTURER TO FIX POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ISSUES (SUCH AS WHAT N23 ATTEMPTS TO DO). HOWEVER, IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE IN DOING SO TO DAMAGE THE VEHICLE FURTHER OR RENDER SYSTEMS INOPERABLE. *TR

I HAD N23 RECALL DONE ON MY JEEP IN 8/2013. I HAVE HAD MY JEEP TO 3 DEALERS 9 DIFFERENT TIMES. SINCE THE RECALL MY 4WHEEL LOW/ NEUTRAL HAS NOT WORKED ON JEEP. I HAVE HAD MY ACTUATOR REPLACED AND THE FINAL DRIVE CONTROLLER REPROGRAMMED MANY TIMES. THE ISSUE WILL FIX FOR A DAY AND THEN BACK TO SAY FAULT CODE. THEY HAVE HAD ME TAKING MY CAR TO ALL THESE DIFFERENT DEALERS AND EVERYONE SAYS ITS SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND SAY THEY FIXED IT. I HAVE BEEN OUT OF 800 OR MORE IN GAS, 160 IN DIAGNOSIS FEES, 170 IN TOW BILL FROM ONE DEALER TO ANOTHER, AND 600 FOR ACTUATOR. I HAVE ONLY HAD MY JEEP SERVICED AT JEEP DEALERS AND IT HAS ALWAYS HAD ALL SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE ON TIME. I FEEL THAT THE SOFTWARE THAT WAS INSTALLED ON MY JEEP HAS CAUSED ALL THESE ISSUES. I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS OUT OF MY 4WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM. MY FIRST RECALL LETTER STATED THAT MY TRANSFER CASE MAY EXPERIENCE A TRANSFER CASE ACTUATOR ENCODER ELECTRICAL FAILURE THAT RESULTS IN UNINTENTIONAL TRANSFER CASE SHIFTING INTO OR THROUGH THE NEUTRAL POSITION. MY JEEP HAS BEEN SHOWING THE SAME 4WHEEL DRIVE CODE SINCE THE RECALL. I HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE MY ACTUATOR CAUSE THEY SAID IT WENT BAD AFTER THE RECALL. I FEEL LIKE I HAVE BEEN TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF I PAID 51,000 FOR MY JEEP AND HAVE TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF IT. SOMEONE HAS GOT TO DO SOMETHING SO JEEP WILL FIX EVERYONE'S SUV. N23 RECALL WAS PERFORMED TO KEEP TRANSFER CASE FROM SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL CAUSED BY CRACKED CIRCUIT BOARD. THE "FIX" TO THIS WAS TO FLASH THE SOFTWARE TO MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE JEEP TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND 4WD LOW. NOW EVERY VEHICLE THAT HAS HAD THIS RECALL DONE IS UNABLE TO TOW THEIR VEHICLE BEHIND A CAMPER BECAUSE THE TRANSFER CASE CAN NOT SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL, AND 4WD LOW IS INOPERABLE AS WELL. CHRYSLER HAS CLAIMED THAT THE N23 RECALL HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ALL OF THESE VEHICLES LOSING 4WD LOW EVEN THOUGH EVERYONE THAT HAS HAD THIS RECALL DONE HAS LOST NEUTRAL AND 4 LO. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE HAD NOT RECURRED UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP IS DON WHITE'S TIMONIUM CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE LOCATED IN COCKEYSVILLE, MD. I CALLED ON THE PHONE TWICE TO ATTEMPT TO SCHEDULE THIS SERVICE AND WAS DISCONNECTED BOTH TIMES. I WAS REVERSING AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE, WHEN I SHIFTED INTO DRIVE AND LET MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE, IT KILLED THE ENGINE AND COMPLETELY SHUT IT OFF. ALL ELECTRONICS REMAINED ON. I WAS DRIVING ON A BUSY ROAD AT NIGHT APPROACHING A 4 WAY TRAFFIC LIGHT INTERSECTION. I WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 35-40 MPH AND THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE DRY. SUDDENLY THE ELECTRIC, LIGHTS, GAUGES, STEERING AND BRAKING SYSTEM IN MY JEEP BEGAN FLICKERING AND SPASMING LIKE MY JEEPS ENTIRE ELECTRIC SYSTEM WAS HAVING SEIZURES AND WAS SWITCHING POWER ON AND OFF. TO THE CARS AHEAD OF ME IT LOOKED LIKE I WAS FLASHING MY LIGHTS AND THE CARS BEHIND ME AS IF I WAS TURNING MY LIGHTS ON AND OFF RAPIDLY. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD INTO A PARKING LOT AND MY JEEP CONTINUED TO SPASM AND FLICKER ON AND OFF. I TURNED MY VEHICLE OFF AND LET IT SIT IN HOPES THAT THIS ISSUE WAS A ONE TIME ELECTRICAL GLITCH AND ALSO BECAUSE I COULDN'T SAFELY DRIVE IT IN THIS CONDITION. I EVENTUALLY STARTED MY VEHICLE AGAIN AND BEGAN TO DRIVE THINKING IT WAS ALRIGHT. WITHIN MINUTES IT BEGAN DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN. MY VEHICLE HAS CONTINUED TO RANDOMLY EXHIBIT THIS BEHAVIOR ALONG WITH ADDITIONALLY ALL THE GAUGE LIGHTS AND SOUNDS BLINKING AND CHIMING FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AT A TIME. I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN BUT WHEN IT DOES IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND SCARY TO BE IN THE VEHICLE. I ONLY HAVE MY IGNITION KEY ON THE KEY RING BUT THAT DOESN'T SEEM TO MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE. I HAVE NOTICED THAT MY IGNITION SWITCH IS EXTREMELY SENSITIVE EVEN WHEN INITIALLY STARTING THE VEHICLE. *TR
