NOISE IN REAR END. DEALER REPLACED DRIVE SHAFT, U JOINTS, PINION SEAL. DEALER UNABLE TO DUPLICATE ENGINE MISS PROBLEM; REPROGRAMMED COMPUTER. DEALER HAD VEHICLE 22 DAYS (11/7/07-11/29/07). *TR
REAR END 'WHINING NOISE'. DEALER CANNOT DETERMINE PROBLEM. ENGINE MISSES AT IDLE. DEALER CANNOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. DEALER SAID IT WOULD TAKE SEVERAL DAYS, "... BRING IT BACK WHEN YOU HAVE TIME." PROBLEM NOT REPAIRED. *TR
ON MANY OCCASIONS MY CAR HAS STALLED OUT WHILE I AM DRIVING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS MY POWER STEERING GOES OUT AND MY WHEELS LOCK UP. IT MAINLY HAPPENS WHEN I AM GOING AT A SLOW SPEED...BUT ON 2 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS IT HAS HAPPENED ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70 MPH. I HAVE SENT MY CAR IN TO 2 DIFFERENT 5 STAR CHRYSLER REPAIR PLACES...BOTH OF THESE PLACES HAVE STATED THAT THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO IDENTIFY A PROBLEM AND THUS COULD NOT FIX MY CAR. *TR

THE CONTACT DROVE TO A LOCAL DEALER. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY IN THE REPAIR SHOP AND THE CONTACT IS WAITING TO FIND OUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 16,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ENGINE STALLED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V438000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 900.
TL*- THE DRIVER OF A 2006 JEEP CHEROKEE STATED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR WHEN SHIFTED INTO DRIVE, WHICH CAUSED HIM TO CRASH INTO A VENDING MACHINE. A PEDESTRIAN SUSTAINED A SPRAINED ANKLE, CUTS AND BRUISES. AS OF OCTOBER 3, 2007, THE DEALER HAD NOT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES, VIN, AND PURCHASE DATE OF THE VEHICLE WERE UNKNOWN.
WE HAVE HAD TWO BROKEN WINDSHIELDS IN OUR JEEP COMMANDER AND NOW ARE ABOUT TO FIX OUR THIRD BROKEN WINDSHIELD. EVEN THE SMALLEST STONE BREAKS THE WINDSHIELD. WE THINK IT IS BE CAUSE OF THE ANGLE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THIS SEEMS VERY DANGEROUS AND HAS BEEN EXTREMELY COSTLY. WE ARE SATISFIED WITH THE CAR EXCEPT FOR THIS MAJOR DEFECT. *JB
ENGINE HAS CUT OFF NUMEROUS TIMES BETWEEN 5-30 MPH. I HAVE TO STOP AND RESTART JEEP, HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED SEVERAL TIMES. HAVE TAKEN INTO DEALERSHIP AND THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THEY CAN'T FIX IT. *TR
I OWN A 2006 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 4X4 LIMITED. WITHIN THE PAST TWO WEEKS ALL FOUR OF THE AIR VENT KNOBS THAT CONTROL THE FLOW OF AIR BOTH UP AND DOWN AND SIDE TO SIDE ON THE DASHBOARD FELL OFF. 2006 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING. LOTS OF CONSUMERS REPORTING THIS ISSUE. DRIVING IN CITY TRAFFIC AT SPEED OF 45 MILES PER HOUR, VEHICLE AND ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. LOST STEERING MOMENTARILY. I SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED- BUT UPON RETURNING HOME AND RESEARCHING PROBLEM ON INTERNET, FOUND NUMEROUS CUSTOMER CITING THIS PROBLEM. LUCKILY, NO CRASH OCCURRED ALTHOUGH IT WAS CLOSE. IGNITION SWITCH MALFUNCTIONING CAUSING TRANSMISSION TO FUNCTION IMPROPERLY. SOMETIMES CANNOT START VEHICLE WITHOUT 'JIGGLING' THE IGNITION AND SHIFTER. DEALER KEPT VEHICLE FOR 23 DAYS (8/31/07-9/22/07) REPLACED IGNITION MODULE. *TR
BRAKES LOCKING UP WHEN APPLIED, EMERGENCY BRAKE HANDLE HAS NO RESISTANCE. PASSENGER SIDE REAR BRAKE CABLE FAILED. DEALER REPLACED. VEHICLE WAS WITH DEALER 23 DAYS (8/31/07-9/22/07). *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP, THE VEHICLE WOULD ABNORMALLY LUNGE FORWARD. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD SPORADICALLY FAIL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER AND THEY REPAIRED THE TCM. SEVERAL WEEKS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED WITHOUT ANY WARNING. SHE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS REFERRED BACK TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT IF THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE DID NOT PROVIDE ANY CODES, THEY COULD NOT SUCCESSFULLY REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
NEED TO REPLACE BRAKE ROTORS AT LESS THAN 35,000 MILES. MULTIPLE POSTING ON INTERNET SITE IDENTIFYING HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND THAT JEEP IS AWARE OF BUT CHOOSES ONLY TO MAKE THE CUSTOMER REPLACE AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE. *TR

IT APPEARS, THE DEALER HAS FINALLY FIXED THE PROBLEM, ON 4/14/2008 AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS. REAR PASSENGER BRAKE ROTOR WORN SEVERELY. BRAKES MAKING TERRIBLE NOISE. DEALER REFUSED TO FIX, SAID IT'S NOT A WARRANTY ITEM. LOW TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT COMES ON FREQUENTLY. CLAIMS WE MUST HAVE A LEAK IN TIRE. CONTINUES TO DO THE SAME THING TODAY 4/2008. VIBRATION, LIKE AN ENGINE MISS AT IDLE. DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM, NOT REPAIRED. EBS LIGHT FLASHES AT RANDOM TIMES ON DRY, FLAT, STRAIGHT ROADS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM NO REPAIRS MADE. *TR
NEW 2006 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, PURCHASED ON 3/31/07. LEAK IN SUN ROOF REPAIRED 3 TIMES AFTER CALLING MANUFACTURER. TODAY WHILE DRIVING 10 MILES MPH ENGINE SHUT OFF, LOST ALL STEERING AND BRAKES. *AK
PREVIOUS REFERENCE # 10190692 TODAY WITH NO WARNING WHILE DRIVING MY CAR AT APPROX 1:00 PM MY CAR WAS ONCE AGAIN UNCONTROLABLE AND THE STEERING JERKED ME TO THE LEFT WHICH CAUSED ME TO BE IN ANOTHER LANE AND I WAS ALMOST INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION WITH AN ONCOMING VEHICLE. ALSO, ONCE AGAIN MY DASH LIGHTS WERE COMPLETELY OUT WHICH INLCUDED MY SPEEDOMETER, ODOMETER, TEMP & FUEL - EVERYTHING WAS BLACK & I HAD NO TURN SIGNALS AND MY AIR CONDITIONER WOULD NOT BLOW ANY AIR AT ALL - THE ONLY THING THAT WORKED WAS THE RADIO AND MY POWER WINDOWS. ONCE AGAIN I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CAME OUT AND TOWED MY VEHICLE TO BUCHANAN AUTO PARK. I'VE SINCE THEN SPOKE WITH CHRYSLER AND THEY ARE LOOKING INTO A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE AND I'VE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE AND THEY ARE ALSO GOING TO TRY TO HELP ME GET OUT OF THIS VEHICLE. I WAS ONLY TRAVELING APPROX 15 MILES AN HOUR IN LUNCH HOUR TRAFFIC IN HAGERSTOWN, MD 21740. I EXPLAINED BEFORE THAT IF I WERE ON THE INTERSTATE GOING 50 + MPH I FEEL VERY CONFIDENT THAT THE OUTCOME WOULD BE VERY WORSE AND MYSELF, MY FAMILY AND OTHER INNOCENT DRIVERS COULD BE INJURED. I REALLY THINK THAT THIS NEEDS CHECKED INTO. I FEAR FOR MY SAFETY, MY FAMILIES SAFETY AND OTHRE INNOCENT DRIVERS.
I WAS EXITING A FREEWAY OFF RAMP AND HAD MY FOOT LIGHTLY ON THE ACCELERATOR TO KEEP THE MOMENTUM UP THE INCLINED OFF RAMP WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND STEPPE D ON THE BRAKES TO BEGIN SLOWING DOWN THE CAR KEPT ACCELERATING AT THE SAME RATE OF SPEED, ABOUT 30 MPH. I WAS PUSHING DOWN ON THE BRAKES AS HARD AS I COULD, AND I COULD FEEL THE ANTILOCK BRAKES PUMPING, AND THE CAR WAS ONLY SLOWING SLIGHTLY. I THEN HAD TO VEER OVER FROM THE RIGHT LANE TO THE LEFT LANE AND THEN RUN THE CAR INTO THE CURB IN ORDER TO SLOW IT DOWN AND AVOID OTHER CARS PARKED AT THE TOP OF THE OFF RAMP. AFTER RUNNING THE VEHICLE INTO THE CURB THE CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING AND CAME TO A STOP SEVERAL FEET LATER. AS A RESULT OF THE INCIDENT, I WAS LEFT STARING OVER THE SIDE OF A ROUGHLY 100 FOOT TALL OFF RAMP ONLY A FEW FEET FROM THE EDGE. THE RIM OF THE WHEEL WAS GOUGED BY THE CONCRETE CURB, AND THE SIDE WALL OF THE TIRE HAD A DEEP SCUFF ON IT. I TOOK IT TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHERE THEY CHECKED THE CAR, WHICH WAS STILL ON ITS ORIGINAL WARRANTY. THEY FOUND NO PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR, AND SAID THAT BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM THEY W FIX IT. THEY DID MENTION THAT ONE OF THE MECHANICS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH HIS WIFE'S CAR, THE SAME MODEL AS MINE, AND HER CAR WAS TOTALED. *AK IN SUMMARY, I THEY MANUFACTURER DID NOTHING TO REMEDY THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, AND I REALLY HAVE NO OTHER RECOURSE BUT TO HOPE THAT THIS SERIOUS ISSUE HAPPENS AGAIN, SO THAT THEY CAN POSSIBLY REPLICATE IT AND FIX IT!
WHILE DRIVING WITH AC ON ALL LIGHTS AND GAUGES GO OFF, AC TURNS OFF , LUCKELY ENGINE KEEPS RUNNING , THIS HAS HAPPENED AL LEAST THREE TIMES , TOOK TO DEALER AND HAD IT CHECKED ,CAR WAS CHECKED AND WAS TOLD EVERYTHING IS OK. THIS IS NOT A VERY RELIABLE VEHICLE. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS ANY RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE FOR THIS KIND OF , OR ANY OTHER ELECTRICAL PROBLEM . THANK YOU *JB

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. ONCE AGAIN, THE DEALER COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WHENEVER CONTACT WAS MADE WITH THE KEY WHILE IT WAS IN THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO REMOVE THE KEY CHAINS FROM HER KEY. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 4,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 24,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
DUE TO THE FIXED FORWARD TILTING HEAD RESTRAINT ON THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIT A CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT IN THE OUTBOARD POSITIONS OF THE REAR SEAT. PLACING MORE THAN ONE CHILD RESTRAINT IN THIS VEHICLE IN THE FORWARD FACING POSITION IS IMPOSSIBLE. *TR
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS MY 2006 JEEP CHEROKEE HAS FAILED TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER ON 2 OCCASIONS THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. THEY HAVE INSTALLED AN "AUTO PILOT" CAMERA THAT I AM SUPPOSED TO TURN ON THE NEXT TIME THIS HAPPENED. IT HAPPENED 30 MINUTES AFTER I PICKED IT UP, AND I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT THE CAMERA CAUGHT THE PROBLEM. THE 2007 CHEROKEE HAS A RECALL ON THE BRAKES, THE 2006 JEEP COMMANDER HAS HAD A RECALL ON THE BRAKES, AND THE 2005 JEEP CHEROKEE HAS HAD A RECALL ON THE BRAKES. PLEASE HELP. *TR
WHILE I WAS SITTING AT A RED LIGHT TODAY I WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED WITH MY RIGHT FOOT ON THE BRAKE. I FELT THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SURGE. I LOOKED AT THE TACHOMETER AND THE NEEDLE SHOT UPWARDS AND I HAD TO REALLY STAND ON THE BRAKE TO KEEP THE SUV FROM MOVING. I SLIPPED THE TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL TO ELIMINATE THE SURGE ON THE BRAKES AND THE ENGINE WHINNIED AND THEN IDLED DOWN. I IMMEDIATELY MADE AN APPOINTMENT AT MY DEALERSHIP FOR FRIDAY APRIL 20, 2007. THIRD INCIDENT. I AM WELL AWARE OF SUDDEN ACCELERATION SYNDROME WHERE IT IS BELIEVED DRIVERS ARE STEPPING ON THE BRAKE BUT REALLY APPLYING THE GAS. I WAS ALREADY SITTING STILL AND MY FOOT NEVER MOVED FROM ANY PEDAL SO THIS THEORY IS ELIMINATED. *AK

WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH UP A HILL THE CONTACT WAS COMING TO A STOP LIGHT AND THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN BUT WOULD NOT STOP. THE CONTACT HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKES VERY HARD. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT DOWN PARTIALLY. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND THEN TOWED TO A DEALER. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. *AK . TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER, AND THE COMPUTER STATED THAT THE COMPONENT ETAX WAS FAILING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE REPAIR PART WAS ON BACK ORDER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,690, AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,800.*AK
I BOUGHT MY 2006 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO 4X4 USED AT 40,000 A YEAR AGO THIS MONTH. SHORTLY AFTER OWNING IT IT STARTED STALLING WHILE IN MOTION OR STOPPED IN GEAR SUCH AS A TRAFFIC LIGHT. WHEN SITTING STILL, COASTING AND SLOWING DOWN, THE VEHICLE WOULD DIE. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DID NOT LIGHT UP AND EVERYTHING SEEMED NORMAL UNTIL I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE TO ACCELERATE OR JUST ACCELERATED FROM A COAST (SUCH AS A SCHOOL ZONE SLOWLY MOVING TRAFFIC), THEN I WOULD REALIZE THE CAR HAD STALLED. IF I WAS ON A HILL GOING UP THE CAR WOULD TAKE OFF BACKWARDS. DIES TURNING INTO PARKING LOTS, ETC. I LOOSE POWER STEERING. THE BRAKES STOPPED ME IF I APPLIED THEM. HOWEVER, IF I WAS IN THE FORWARD MOVING POSITION, I WOULD JUST THROW IT IN NEUTRAL AND RE-START THE ENGINE WITHOUT PROBLEM. THIS CONCERNED ME, BECAUSE I BUY MY VEHICLES USED, I DID NOT KNOW IF DIRTY INJECTORS AND THROTTLE BODY WAS CAUSING CARBON RESIDUE TO CLOG THE INJECTORS SO I HAD IT ALL CLEANED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS ON A BUMPY ROAD, THE VEHICLE STALLED WHEN THE CONTACT'S KNEE STRUCK THE IGNITION KEY. THE DEALER FOUND NO FAILURE WITH THE VEHICLE, BUT SUGGESTED THAT THE CONTACT REMOVE EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE IGNITION KEY FROM THE KEY RING. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWO WEEKS LATER AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE CRANK AND CAM SHAFT SENSORS. THE FAILURE RECURRED A THIRD TIME AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE YEARS AFTER THE LAST REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,500. A FEW DAYS AFTER ITS PURCHASE I NOTICED A LITTLE JUMP WHEN I ACCELERATED, THEN I CARRIED THE CAR TO TAMIAMI CHRYSLER SERVICE ON APRIL 2, 2007. I READ ABOUT THE RECALL ON THE 2007 WRANGLER AND NITROS. IT SOUNDED LIKE THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAD LOSS OF ENGINE POWER SEVERAL TIMES, SIMILAR TO RUNNING OUT OF GASOLINE. MOST TIMES IT WOULD NOT STALL, BUT IF AT SLOW SPEEDS OR AT A STOP THE ENGINE WOULD COMPLETELY QUIT. ONE TURN OF THE KEY WOULD START IT UP AGAIN. ON ONE OCCASION, SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE EBS SYSTEM WAS NOT REGISTERING AND THE CODE WAS EXSP-BAS. THE SYSTEM FAILURE WAS WITNESSED BY FAMILY MEMBERS. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER. PURCHASED A NEW 2006 GRAND CHROKEE. AFTER I REACHING 1,200 MILES THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHUDDER OR SURGE, ALMOST FEELING LIKE A MISS. THIS MAY HAPPEN AT ANY SPEED, AND IN ANY DRIVING CONDITION, BUT ESPECIALLY BETWEEN 35-60 MPH. BELIEVE IT OR NOT IT WAS WORSE WHEN IT WAS CLOUDY AND COOL OR DAMP. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING THAT I KNEW TO GET THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER TO REPAIR THIS. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP OR DOWN THERE BEING TEST DRIVEN AND CODES TAKEN 8 TIMES. THEY TRY TO TELL ME THAT THIS WAS NORMAL. NO WAY!!!! THIS WAS EXTREMELY ANNOYING, REDUCED THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE AND MY FAITH IN IT. THE DEALER, AND THE MANUFACTURER. , AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 2005 MODEL FOR SOMETHING VERY SIMILAR. THE CAUSE WAS MOISTURE ENTERING THE TRANSMISSION FILL TUBE AND CAUSING THE TORQUE CONVERTER TO SHUDDER. ALSO, THERE WERE SOME ENGINE FIRES DUE TO THIS. PURCHASED THE 2006 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED (4.7L) NEW FROM DEALERSHIP. IT STALLS UNEXPECTEDLY. USUALLY AT LOW SPEEDS. MOST OF THE TIME WHILE TURNING. IT DOES IT PROBABLY ONCE EVERY TWO OR THREE MONTHS, WHICH MAKES IT NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE TO DUPLICATE AT THE DEALERSHIP. IN ADDITION, NO CODES ARE EVER TRIPPED, LEAVING NO PROOF OF AN EXISTING PROBLEM. I BOUGHT A 2006 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE IN 2009. SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, I EXPERIENCED ENGINE POWER LOSS & POWER STEERING LOSS. I TOOK MY JEEP INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT, BUT THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM AT THE TIME. THIS HAPPENED TO ME MULTIPLE TIMES, YET THE DEALERSHIP NEVER FOUND THE PROBLEM. IN 2014, I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM CHRYSLER (RECALL P41) STATING THE SOME JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE VEHICLES MAY EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE. THEY ADVISED IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE. PER RECALL P41, "THIS INCREASES THE RISK OF A CRASH AND DISABLING ONE OR MORE OF THE VEHICLE'S SAFETY FEATURES INCLUDING THE FRONTAL AIRBAGS." I WAS PREGNANT AT THE TIME SO I CALLED CHRYSLER'S GROUP RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER AT 1-800-853-1403, AND WAS ADVISED THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I TOLD THEM I WAS CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF MY UNBORN CHILD, ESPECIALLY SINCE THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES TO MY VEHICLE ALREADY. I CALLED CHRYSLER BACK RECENTLY AND TOLD THEM IT HAPPENED AGAIN TO ME, WHILE I HAD MY HUSBAND AND NEWBORN IN THE CAR. I WAS DRIVING ON THE PARKWAY & MY ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF! I WAS SCARED TO DEATH! I ASKED CHRYSLER FOR A RENTAL VEHICLE TO USE UNTIL THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. THEY SAID THEY DO NOT OFFER THAT. SO I AM SUPPOSED TO KEEP DRIVING THIS "DEATH TRAP?" I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS JEEP, BUT DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO BUY ANOTHER CAR NOW. PLUS, I HAVE A NEWBORN BABY TO THINK ABOUT. I FEEL THEY SHOULD OFFER RENTAL VEHICLES TO PEOPLE WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE. TRANSMISSION WILL SPORADICALLY CHOOSE NOT TO ENGAGE ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO FREE WHEEL. PROBLEM NOTED MAINLY AFTER INITIAL START WHEN LEFT OVERNIGHT AND WILL GO AWAY AFTER ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO WARM UP SUFFICIENTLY (3-5 MINUTES). *CN

WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE AFTER A STOP, VEHICLE WILL ONLY COAST AFTER ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE. THIS ALSO HAPPENS AFTER MAKING A TURN; THE VEHICLE WILL INITIALLY ATTEMPT TO BEGIN TO MOVE THEN WILL ONLY COAST WHILE GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN A COUPLE OF ACCIDENTS BECAUSE PEOPLE THINK I AM ACCELERATING AND THEY ALMOST RUN INTO THE BACK OF ME. *JB
