TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT FELT THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOWERED WITHOUT WARNING. AS THE VEHICLE LOWERED, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL AS HE DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND SAW THAT PART OF THE SUB FRAME WAS DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE DRIVE SHAFT HAD DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE VEHICLE LOST ACCERLATION. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I STEPPED ON GAS IT WOULDN'T ACCERLAT. I THEN PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO SIDE OF STREET. PUT IT IN PARK AND THEN TURN IT OFF. THEN I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND A LIGHTING BOLT CAME ON DASH. I COULDN'T GAIN SPEED, THE ONLY THING MY VEHICLE DID WAS ROLL IN DRIVE NOT SPEED AT ALL.
I TOOK MY JEEP TO HAVE FUEL PUMP RELAY AND ALTERNATOR RECALLS SERVICED AT NAPLETON JEEP IN KISSIMMEE FL AND THE CAR BROKE DOWN A FEW DAYS AFTER BEING SERVICED, HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY CHARGED ME $189 TO SAY IT WAS THE STARTER THAT WAS BAD AND QUOTED ME $800, I FELT PUT OFF AND GOT THE CAR TOWED TO A DIFF PRIVATE OWNED SHOP FOR A SECOND OPINION, THE MECHANIC DID A FULL DIAGNOSIS AND PROVIDED PROOF THAT THE STARTER IS GOOD AND ITS THE ALTERNATOR, STATED THAT THE DEALERSHIP NOT ONLY INSTALLED IMPROPERLY BUT THAT THE PART IS FAULTY,. GROUND WIRE WAS NOT CONNECTED TO THE ENGINE AND THEREFORE IT COULDN'T BE STARTED ALTERNATOR CHARGE WIRE INSTALLED IN AN INCORRECT POSITION AND TUGGING ON HARNESS AND PROTECTIVE COVER CAN'T BE PLACED OVER POWER WIRE ALTERNATOR NOT CHARGING AND GETTING EXTREMELY HOT, ALL OF WHICH SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, SO I WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND ASKED FOR THE SERVICE MANAGER, OSCAR, WHO TOLD ME HE WOULD NOT ONLY NOT REFUND ANY MONEY FOR THE MIS DIAGNOSIS BUT HE WOULD ALSO CHARGE ME FOR ANY FURTHER REPAIRS EVEN THO THE PART THAT WAS INSTALLED TWO WEEKS AGO IS THE ONE THAT HAS AND ISSUE AND SHOULD ONE STILL UNDER THE SAME WARRANTY. THEN I WAS HARASSED BY SERVICE MANAGER WHO THREATENED VIOLENCE ON MY FAMILY OVER THE PHONE. THE JEEP NOW EVEN ONCE REPAIRED COULD HAVE SO MANY ISSUES ARISE AS WELL BECAUSE OF THE NEGLIGENCE THIS DEALERSHIP HAS SHOWN, THE HAVE UNDERQUALIFIED AND UNSUPERVISED TECHNICIANS DOING JOBS THEY ARE NOT READY TO BE DOING ALONE. NOW I WORRY FOR MY SAFETY AND LONGEVITY OF MY VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP ALSO LEFT THE CAR RUNNING THE ENTIRE TIME THEY HAD IT. SO MY BATTERY WAS SHOT AND IT IS BRAND NEW. I HAVE ALL RECEIPTS AND DOCUMENTS AS WELL JUST YOUR WEBSITE ISN'T ALLOWING TO UPLOAD THEM ALL SO I INCLUDED A PHOTO TO SHOW HOW NEGLIGENT THIS DEALERSHIP WAS.
THERE HAS BEEN A FUEL PUMP RELAY RECALL FOR TWO YEARS, FINALLY COME OUT WITH A REPAIR AND NOW THERE AREN'T ENOUGH PARTS. THIS IS A SERIOUS RECALL AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ASAP.
STARTED THE VEHICLE TO GO PICK LUNCH UP. DROVE 1/2 MILE TO RESTAURANT. PULLED INTO PARKING SPOT WHEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHUDDER. PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK WHEN IT BEGAN TO STALL AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. MULTIPLE CALLS MADE TO DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE RECALL FIXED. THEY HAVE GIVEN EXCUSE AFTER EXCUSE ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO FIX IT. NO OPTIONS WERE GIVEN TO HELP REMEDY THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
FOR 2 YEARS I'VE BEEN GETTING RECALL NOTICES TO REPLACE A FAILING FUEL PUMP RELAY FOR OUR JEEP. EVERY TIME I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO ADDRESS THE RECALL I'M TOLD THAT THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY STALL OUT AND WILL NEED TO BE RESTARTED. THIS SITUATION POSES A SAFETY ISSUE AND COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT WHICH COULD BE POTENTIALLY FATAL. STARTING EARLY IN 2019 MY VEHICLE STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH STALING . A RECALL (V62) WAS ISSUED TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. MY VEHICLE WAS "REPAIRED " PER V62 RESOLUTION ON 1/5/2021 @ CORINTH CDJR IN CORINTH MS. SINCE, THE 5TH MY VEHICLE HAS STALLED 10 TIMES IN LESS THAN 100 MILES DRIVEN. GENERALLY WHILE BREAKING ON AN INCLINE OR DECLINE. INCLUDING 2 TIMES TODAY WHILE TAKING MY KIDS TO SCHOOL.
RECALL REPAIR: UNABLE TO REMEDY THIS SAFETY RECALL FOR FUEL PUMP RELAY IN A TIMELY MANNER: 3.5 MONTHS AND STILL WAITING. THAT EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP RELAY IS SOMETHING YOU CAN ORDER ON AMAZON FOR $10; HOWEVER, THE DEALERSHIP INDICATES THAT THEY CAN ONLY PROCURE ONE PER WEEK. AT 2 MONTHS WAIT, THE DEALERSHIP ALLEN SAMUELS IN WACO, TX INDICATED "THE RECALL YOU HAVE HAS HAD SERIOUS PARTS RESTRICTIONS. WE ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO SECURE ONE PER WEEK....BUT IT STILL MAY BE A FEW MONTHS BEFORE WE CAN PROCURE ONE FOR YOU. SAFETY RISK--A VEHICLE STALL WHILE DRIVING CAN CAUSE A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.
My vehicle will not start from time to time. At times, when it starts, it quickly shuts off and does not run. I am nervous that my vehicle could crash or be harmful to my family or others. My vehicle is currently unreliable at this time as I am unable to get the recall fuel pump relay part at any nearby dealership as there is a waiting list and they can only order one part every 7-10 days. These series of events have been happening for the past 6 months. Our records indicate that your vehicle [1] was included in previous Safety Recall P54 (NHTSA 14V-530) or Safety Recall R09 (NHTSA 15V-115). The remedy for the previous recalls was to replace the fuel pump relay. If you had either of these recalls completed, the installed remedy relay is susceptible to silicon contamination on the relay contacts, which can cause the relay to fail. A fuel pump relay failure can result in a no-start condition or an engine stall condition if the vehicle is running. A vehicle engine stall while driving can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. (RECALL RELATED INCIDENT) TS

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and making a turn, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was determined that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.
On or about December 15 2020 my wife was on her way to work and hit a water puddle and hydroplaned at 60 miles per hour and lost control and hit the wall head on at 55 mph and no airbags deployed I have the car in my front yard

DEALERSHIP OFFERED TO TOW VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP BUT NO ESTIMATE ON TIME FOR REPAIR. RECALL R09 WAS PREVIOUSLY COMPLETED.
THE LATEST INCIDENT HAPPENED SUNDAY 11/29/20. PRIOR TO THIS, THE EVENT HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 4 OTHER TIMES. WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED 55-70 AND SLOWLY COMING DOWN TO A STOP ON A RAMP OR TURNING THE VEHICLE WHILE DECREASING SPEED, THE ENGINE WILL STOP RUNNING. NO VISUAL OR AUDITORY WARNINGS HAPPEN, YOU'RE ONLY AWARE WHEN YOU FEEL THE POWER STEERING HAS GONE AWAY, AND THE TACHOMETER READS ZERO RPM. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OFF AND STOP IN EACH EVENT, THE VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE CYCLED OFF AND THEN RESTARTED. THE SAFETY CONCERN IS THIS EVENT COULD HAPPEN INTO LEFT TURN ACROSS ONCOMING TRAFFIC WITH NO ABILITY TO ACCELERATE OUT OF HARMS WAY.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING MY CAR RANDOMLY SHUT OFF WHILE IN DRIVE FOR OVER A YEAR. I'M SCARED OF DRIVING MY OWN CAR. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME WELL OVER 25 TIMES. I'VE ASKED THE CONNECTICUT DEALERSHIPS (WETMORE'S AND NORTHWEST HILLS) ABOUT THIS MULTIPLE TIMES AND AS OF TODAY THEY SAY THERE IS NO FIX AND THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THERE IS NO FIX FOR THE RECALL. IT HAPPENS WHEN I'M DRIVING AND BRAKING AND TURNING LEFT, SUCH AS TURNING LEFT OFF A RAMP OR GOING DOWN A HILL AND SLOWING TO TURN LEFT OR SLOWING ON A BIG HILL AT A STOP LIGHT. THE CAR COMPLETELY STOPS. THE BRAKES STOP WORKING AND POWER STEERING IS LOST. THEN I HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK AND WHEN I PRESS START IT RESTARTS. BUT THIS IS DANGEROUS. I ALSO HAVE A SPECIAL WARRANTY I PAID FOR AND BECAUSE THERE IS A RECALL THE DEALERSHIP SAID MY WARRANTY THAT I PAID $4K FOR IS USELESS BECAUSE OF THE RECALL. DUE TO THE SAFETY RECALL V62 I'VE EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE INCIDENTS OF MY 2012 GRAND CHEROKEE STALLING WHILE DRIVING. WITHIN 6 MONTHS I'VE HAD THE RELAY SENSORS REPLACED TWICE (NO CHARGE) AND A NEW FUEL PUMP, $1,200 OUT OF POCKET AND MY JEEP STILL STALLED. THIS IS NOW THE 4TH TIME MY JEEP IS SITTING AT THE DEALERSHIP WITH NO FIX AND FCA WILL NOT REIMBURSE ME FOR A RENTAL. MY CASE MANAGER FROM FCA SAID I AM OUT OF WARRANTY, SINCE WHEN DOES A SAFETY RECALL FALL UNDER A WARRANTY? SO EITHER I DRIVE AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN OR CONTINUE TO PAY FOR A RENTAL SO THAT I CAN GET BACK AND FORTH TO WORK. VEHICLE STALLS WHILE IN MOTION. ALL ELECTRICAL CONTINUES TO OPERATE, ENGINE SHUTS DOWN WITH NO WARNING. LIKELY RELATED TO NHTSA RECALL 19V-813. ALWAYS OCCURS WITHIN ~10 MINUTES OF START. THIS RECALL WAS PUBLISHED 12 MONTHS AGO (ON TOP OF A PREVIOUS RECALL FOR SAME ISSUE). MANUFACTURER STILL DOES NOT HAVE A FIX "NO PARTS AVAILABLE". THIS ISSUE IS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE, IF IT HAS NOT ALREADY.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. MY WIFE WAS STRANDED WHEN THE ENGINE STOPPED AND WILL NOT RESTART. MECHANIC MADE US AWARE HE CANNOT FIX AS THIS IS AN ISSUE UNDER AN OPEN RECALL FOR THE VEHICLE SINCE NOVEMBER 2019. I CALLED A JEEP SERVICE CENTER WHO SAID THEY CANNOT APPLY THE RECALL WORK BECAUSE JEEP/FIAT HAVEN'T MADE THE PARTS AVAILABLE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOP AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND THAT THE BODY AND FRAME OF THE VEHICLE HAD COMPLETELY SEPARATED ITSELF FROM THE VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE INSPECTED MY VEHICLE INCLUDING THE DEALERSHIP AND INSURANCE COMPANY THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT TO MY VEHICLE. EVERYONE WHO HAS INSPECTED THE VEHICLE HAS STATED THEY HAVE NEVER IN LIFE SEEN A VEHICLE COME APART THE WAY MY JEEP HAS AND IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED. THE DEALERSHIP AND I HAVE BEEN TRYING SINCE OCTOBER 6, 2020 TO GET MOPHAR AND FCA CUSTOMER CARE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE VEHICLE AND SEND AN ENGINEER OUT TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE FOR RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP HAS EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THE VEHICLE HAS SLOWLY BEEN SEPARATING ITSELF FROM THE BODY DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT.

THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED SO WE TOOK IT FOR DIAGNOSIS TO A JEEP/CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE DIAGNOSIS FOR MY VEHICLE IS LOW COMPRESSION IN CYLINDERS #1 AND #2 CAUSING A MISFIRE. THE CODE IS P0302. THE IRONY OF THIS DIAGNOSIS IS THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS ALL ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND HAS ISSUED A CYLINDER HEAD EXTENSION WARRANTY FOR ONLY THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ENGINE. MEANING THAT CHRYSLER WILL REPAIR THE LEFT SIDE (UNDER WARRANTY) BUT WILL NOT WARRANTY THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE THAT SUFFERS FROM THE SAME PROBLEM. CYLINDER #1 IS COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY 10 YEARS 150,000 MILES AND CYLINDER #2 WAS COVERED UNDER THE ORIGINAL POWER TRAIN 5 YEARS 100,000 MILES AND WE ARE STILL UNDER 100,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. UNUSUAL WEAR AND FAILURE IN THE UPPER CYLINDERS AND VALVES ARE PERVASIVE PROBLEMS WITH 2011-13 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES WITH THIS ENGINE I WAS ADVISED BY THE TECHNICIAN AT LARRY MILLER CHRYSLER THAT LKQ AND C&K DO NOT OFFER AFTERMARKET ENGINES FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL SO THE FACTORY MOTOR SEEMS TO BE OUR ONLY HOPE. WE HAVE SUBMITTED A CLAIM TO CHRYSLER CORP AND AM GETTING THEIR "GENERIC AUTOMATIC EMAIL THAT STATES OUR CLAIN HAS BEEN CLOSED". ONE REPRESENTIVAE EVEN ASKED US TO SUBMIT THE STAMPED WORK ORDER AND ANY RECEIPTS, WHICH WE DID 10 DAYS AGO. CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND ISSUED AN "X-81" EXTENDED WARRANTY (WHICH THEY FAILED TO COMMUNICATE TO CONSUMERS) AND IS NOW REFUSING TO TAKE STEPS TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. THIS PROBLEM CAUSES A DISTRACTION WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE AND IF IT CONTINUES TO WORSEN IT MAY IMPEDE VISIBILITY.

DEALER DIAGNOSED AS FRONT TRANSFER CASE INTERNALLY FAILED, AND FRONT DRIVE SHAFT HAS FAILED. MY INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INDICATED THIS FAILURE IS COMMON AND MAY ALSO REQUIRE A FRONT DIFFERENTIAL REPLACEMENT. THE DEALER INITIALLY DIAGNOSED AS FRONT DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE BUT DETERMINED IT TO BE THE TRANSFER CASE. PARTS ARE NOT READILY AVAILABLE DUE TO THIS BEING A COMMON FAILURE (4+ WEEKS FOR PARTS). THE JEEP HAS HAD A NO START PROBLEM SINCE I PURCHASED IT 5 YEARS AGO. IT HAS BEEN IN DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENTS MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THE ISSUE WITH NO RESOLUTION WHEN STILL UNDER WARRANTY. ALL ONLINE RESEARCH POINTS TO A DEFECTIVE TIPM AND THERE ARE RELATED RECALLS. THE CURRENT OPEN SAFETY RECALL IS NUMBER V62 WITH FCA FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WHICH IS PART OF THE TIPM. THE LOSS OF POWER IS ONE ISSUE THAT CAN BE CAUSED BY THE FAULTY TIPM, AS WELL AS THE NO START PROBLEM MY JEEP HAS HAD THE ENTIRE TIME I'VE OWNED IT. I WENT TO JEEP TO SEE WHAT IT WOULD COST TO REPAIR (OR REPLACE) AND I WAS TOLD THAT THEY NO LONGER MANUFACTURE, NOR CARRY THE PART. ..... THEY NO LONGER MANUFACTURE NOR CARRY A PART FOR AN 8 YEAR OLD CAR? I FIND THAT VERY SUSPICIOUS. I'D LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT THIS. THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT HEADREST HAS NOT DEPLOYED (YET), BUT I HOPE IT DOESN'T DEPLOY INADVERTENTLY WHILE SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT.

(FUEL PUMP RELAY). I HAVE HAD THE RELAY REPLACED 3 TIMES, BUT NOT THE ORIGINAL AS SEEMINGLY IT IS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CAR HAS NEVER STALLED OR ACTED STRANGELY ONCE GOING. THE AGENT HAS FITTED ANOTHER RELAY, BUT NOW SAYS THAT THEY HAVE TO INSTALL A WCM, ELV AND KEYS. A DIAGNOSTIC WAS DONE AND SHOWED UP SOME ERRORS AFTER PUTTING IN THE LAST RELAY. WHEN WILL THE CORRECT RELAYS BE MANUFACTURED, AS I DO NOT WANT TO GO TO GREAT EXPENSE REPLACING OTHER PARTS IF IT IS STILL A RELAY ISSUE?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SHUT-OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V813000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. BILL LUKE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (2425 W. CAMELBACK RD, PHOENIX, AZ 85015) WAS CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO HAVE A TEMPORARY FUEL PUMP INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLE. DESPITE THE TEMPORARY REPLACEMENT, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. *BF *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE ON MY VEHICLE WAS NOT WORKING. I TOOK THE CAR TO BERGLUND JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE RAM DEALERSHIP IN ROANOKE, VA FOR RECALL 19V-813 (MANUFACTURER RECALL V62), JUST IN CASE THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WAS CAUSING THE ISSUE. THEY REFUSED TO PERFORM THE RECALL DUE TO LACK OF AVAILABILITY OF THE PART, THOUGH I WAS TOLD THAT THE PART WOULD TAKE 5-7 DAYS TO ARRIVE WHEN I MADE THE INITIAL APPOINTMENT. THEY ALSO DID NOT PERFORM AN INTERIM REPAIR TO ADDRESS FUEL PUMP FAILURE (THEY OFFERED TO FIX THE FUEL PUMP FOR $2100). THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED ANY FURTHER COMMUNICATION TO ADDRESS MY QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS ABOUT THE RECALL/WHEN THE PART WOULD BE AVAILABLE.
