THE CONTACT CALLED CLARK CRAIN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (7245 US-61, ST FRANCISVILLE, LA 70775, (225)635-2900) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HUNTER DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (1130 AUTO MALL DR, LANCASTER, CA 93534(661) 948-8411) WHO STATED THAT THE REMEDY PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE DOES NOT START AT TIMES, IT ALSO HAS STARTED JUST DYING ON THE ROAD. IN NOVEMBER 2019, WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ON OUR JEEP OWNER PORTAL. THERE IS A FUEL PUMP RELAY FAILURE. SINCE THEN, WE HAVE REGULARLY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND A REMEDY IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE. THIS IS BECOMING A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN FOR OUR FAMILY AS THE VEHICLE IS NOW DYING IN TRAFFIC. WHEN I HAVE MY FOOT ON THE GAS, I CAN FEEL THE VEHICLE IS NOT RECEIVING GAS. SOMETIMES IT DIES ENTIRELY AND OTHER TIMES IT PUTTERS AND JOLTS BACK TO LIFE. THIS HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK. I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND THEY SAID NO REMEDY IS AVAILABLE. I DESCRIBED WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE VEHICLE AND THEY STATED THAT SOUNDS LIKE THE RECALL CAUSING THE ISSUES. TODAY I WAS ALMOST HIT BY A SEMI TRUCK BECAUSE THE JEEP DIED IN TRAFFIC.
A FAMILY MEMBER IN ANOTHER STATE OWNED AND PAMPERED THIS VEHICLE FOR MANY YEARS, PRIOR TO MY ACQUIRING IT. RECENTLY THE HOSE TO THE POWERING STEERING PUMP BLEW OFF WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING IT (NON HIGHWAY) AND IT WAS TAKEN IN TO BE SERVICED (THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP), WELL AFTER THEIR INITIAL REPAIR, WE WERE TOLD THAT DURING THEIR TEST DRIVE "AFTER" THAT REPAIR, THE HOSE HAD AGAIN BLOWN OFF SO MORE DAYS WERE NEEDED WITH THE VEHICLE TO AGAIN REPAIR THE ISSUE. A FEW DAYS LATER WE WERE CALLED AND TOLD THAT ISSUE HAD BEEN SOLVED AND THAT WE COULD RETRIEVE THE VEHICLE. THAT SAME NIGHT, I, WHILE SITTING IN THE VEHICLE (WITH IT IN IDLE), HEAR A "POP" WHICH TURNS OUT TO BE THE HOSE AGAIN, MIND YOU, EACH TIME THIS HAPPENS, THE PUMP SPEWS POWER STEERING FLUID ALL OVER THE ENGINE, THIS PARTICULAR NIGHT I EVEN FOUND IT ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE ENGINE ROOF. WELL THE CAR WAS AGAIN SENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY, THEY HAD IT APPROXIMATELY 3 DAYS BEFORE AGAIN WE GOT THE CALL THAT THE REPAIRS HAD BEEN COMPLETED, WE WERE TOLD THAT THIS TIME IT WAS DUE TO PROBABLY WHAT WAS A FAULTY POWER STEERING PUMP, WHICH THEY REPLACED. TWO DAYS LATER I TOOK POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE AS THE ORIGINAL OWNER (FAMILY MEMBER) WAS TOO CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING IT AGAIN. THANKFULLY MY DRIVE BACK TO MY STATE (2 DAYS LATER) WENT UNEVENTFUL, HOWEVER, 2 DAYS AFTER BEING HOME AND DRIVING IT (NON HIGHWAY), SURE ENOUGH I HEAR THAT FAMILIAR "POP" AND AGAIN THE HOSE HAS BLOWN OFF, POWER STEERING FLUID EVERYWHERE, ALONG WITH MY SANITY. I SEE THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE BACK IN 2012 BUT IT NEVER BECAME A RECALL, BUT, A FIX WAS IMPLEMENTED, SO IF THIS IS THE CASE WHY IS THIS HAPPENED WITH THE SAME PIECE OF EQUIPMENT NUMEROUS TIMES AND THE DEALERSHIP CAN'T SEEM TO SOLVE THIS KNOWN ISSUE??
VEHICLE HAS NO DIAGNOSTIC CODES SHOWING UP BUT HAS STALLED ON US SEVERAL TIMES ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENT TWICE NOW. ALSO PULSATES AT SPEEDS AROUND 45 AND AGAIN AT 60MPH. SINCE THE LAST STALL IT NOW HAS A VERY ROUGH IDLE. WE HAVE CALLED DEALERSHIP ABOUT RECALL AND THEY STATE YES THERE IS ONE BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE A FIX. ARE WE SUPPOSED TO JUST KEEP DRIVING WITH THESE SAFETY ISSUES ? VEHICLE WILL STALL WHILE AFTER DRIVING COMING TO A STOP AT LIGHT. WE LOSE STEERING ABILITY AND BRAKING. WE ARE USUALLY GOING STRAIGHT AND ON CITY STREET OR COMING OFF FREEWAY
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND A MESSAGE INDICATING THE PARK ASSIST NEEDED SERVING CAME ON. IN .5 OF A MILE MY DRIVER'S SEAT BELT LIGHT CAME ON, EVEN THOUGH I HAD THE SEAT BELT SECURED. I DROVE ANOTHER .5 OF A MILE AND MANY ADDITIONAL LIGHTS CAME ON IN MY VEHICLE. I PULLED IT OFF THE ROAD AND MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. THEN THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS CAME ON AND THE CAR STOPPED WORKING. IT WOULD NOT TURN ON AGAIN. THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY WERE BOTH REPLACED. THE SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED THE NEXT DAY. MY ALTERNATOR WAS MELTED WHEN THE GARAGE LOOKED AT MY CAR AFTER TOWING THE SECOND TIME.
MY ALTERNATOR BURNT UP AND RUINED MY COMPUTER IN MY JEEP AS WELL. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR AND MANY OF THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD WENT OUT. MY POWER STEERING ALSO WENT OUT. THE ALTERNATOR WAS SO HOT, IT CRUMBLED AND MELTED THE CASING. CHRYSLER WILL NOT ADMIT TO THE ALTERNATOR BEING FAULTY OR NEEDING TO BE REPLACED IN THE RECALL FOR THE VEHICLE, STATING IT WAS NOT ONE OF THE ALTERNATORS AFFECTED.
FEB 13 2020. WIFE AND I WERE DRIVING OUR VEHICLE ON PUBLIC STREET IN OLYMPIA, WA. WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE VEHICLE DID A TOTAL POWER FAIL. EVERYTHING STOPPED, EVEN THE DOME LIGHTS. WITH THE HELP OF STRANGERS, THE VEHICLE WAS PUSHED ONTO BUSINESS PARKING LOT TO WAIT FOR TOW. BATTERY TESTED GOOD, ALTERNATOR WAS REMOVED AND TESTED GOOD.
MY 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HAS ISSUES STARTING. PUSH TO START ON KEY NO LONGER WORKS. PUSH TO START IN THE CAR TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE ISSUE SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. BATTERIES HAVE BEEN REPLACED IN KEYS. THE ISSUE PERSIST WHEN NOT USING PUSH TO START AND INSERTING KEY AND CRANKING. IT TRIES TO CRANK, ELECTRONICS FLICKER, THEN NOTHING. WHEN I FIRST NOTICED THE ISSUE THE CAR WOULD START TYPICALLY ON THE SECOND ATTEMPT. YESTERDAY IT TOOK AROUND TEN ATTEMPTS TURNING THE KEY TO GET THE CAR STARTED.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. I RECEIVED SAFETY RECALL #19V-813 IN FEBRUARY OF THIS YEAR. THE RECALL WARNS OF AN ENGINE STALL WITHOUT ANY WARNING. WE LIVE IN A REMOTE AREA AND CANNOT RISK DRIVING THE VEHICLE. WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE THE CAR FOR OVER FOUR MONTHS. I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER MULTIPLE TIMES BUT THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY. THIS DELAY IS INTOLERABLE.

The contact owns a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V813000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact indicated that on several occasions the vehicle would not immediately start-up. The approximate failure mileage was 74,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ST CHARLES CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM DEALER, (1611 E MAIN ST, ST. CHARLES, IL 60174) AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FORWARD COLLISION SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ISSUE WAS DUE TO NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. THERE WAS NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
THE JEEP HAS STALLED SEVERAL TIMES. IT HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN A FEW TIMES. USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN COMING TO A STOP AT LIGHT/STOP SIGN. HOWEVER THE SCARIEST TIME WAS WHEN THE ENGINE UNEXPECTEDLY TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 45-50 MPH ON STREET. WIFE ABLE TO BRING THE JEEP TO A COMPLETE STOP AND RESTART. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND WERE TOLD CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF ISSUE. THERE IS GOING TO BE A RECALL AS SOON THEY HAVE A FIX.

MY 18 YEAR OLD SON WAS DRIVING HIS 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OVERLAND ON A BRIDGE AT NIGHT WHEN IT ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR STALLED!!! THE BATTERY LIGHT FLASHED, LOTS OF OTHER LIGHTS FLASHED, THEN ALL POWER SHUT OFF! HE COULD NOT STEER, NO LIGHTS WERE WORKING, NOTHING! THANK GOD HE WAS ABLE TO STOP IN-BETWEEN LANES IN A SMALL AREA WHERE CARS WERE NOT TRAVELING. HE CALLED 911 AND THEY SLOWED TRAFFIC DOWN AND AFTER DIFFICULTY GETTING CAR INTO NEUTRAL, HE WAS TOWED OFF THE ROAD. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED CHRYSLER CORP AND LEARNED OF A RECALL OF THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WHICH WHEN DEFECTIVE COULD CAUSE EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO MY SON TO HAPPEN. WE WERE INVITED TO TAKE VEHICLE INTO MIKE STEAD CHRYSLER JEEP IN RICHMOND, CA FOR THEM TO INSTALL A NEW FUEL PUMP RELAY AS INSTRUCTED BY CHRYSLER CORPORATION (FCA). THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO INSTALL THE PART, ASKING ME TO PAY A $199 DIAGNOSTIC FEE AND CLAIMING THAT OUR VEHICLE HAD OTHER PROBLEMS THAT HAD TO BE FIXED BEFORE THEY COULD EVEN CHECK THE RECALLED PART. I AM VERY DISSATISFIED AND HORRIFIED THAT THEY NOW WANT TO CHARGE ME $50/DAY STORAGE BECAUSE I REFUSE TO PAY FOR WORK WHEN I WAS PROMISED THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE THE RECALLED PART. WE NEED HELP! I BELIEVE ALL THESE VEHICLES ARE A COMPLETE DANGER AND SADLY, THE NEW PART HASN'T BEEN MANUFACTURED YET. I AM APPALLED THAT SUCH A LARGE CORPORATION KNOWINGLY IS ALLOWING VEHICLES TO OPERATE WHEN SUCH A DANGER IS POSSIBLE. MY SON COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED! VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP AND FUEL PUMP RELAY WAS IDENTIFIED AS THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM, RECALL EXISTS AND THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WAS REPLACED. HOWEVER, FUEL PUMP RELAY CAUSED THE BATTERY TO DRAIN ALSO NECESSITATING REPLACEMENT. FCA/MOPAR ONLY AUTHORIZED REIMBURSEMENT OF THE FUEL PUMP RELAY AND NOT FOR THE BATTERY EVEN THOUGH IT WAS DIRECTLY RELATED AND THE DEALERSHIP TECHNICIAN STATED THE SAME. SPOKE WITH MULTIPLE REPS FROM FCA WHO COULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. AN OIL CHANGE AND SYSTEMS DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE JUST BEFORE THE FUEL PUMP FAILURE AND NO ISSUES WITH THE BATTERY WERE IDENTIFIED. I WAS TOLD THE BATTERY COULD NOT BE REPLACED BECAUSE I TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE...WHICH SEEMS INCREDULOUS TO ME AS THAT IS WHAT MOST PEOPLE DO WHEN THEY LEAVE FOR WORK. HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THE FUEL PUMP RELAY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED UNLESS I TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULDN'T TURN OVER?
THE CAR WILL START THEN THE POWER TO THE FUEL PUMP CUTS OUT. THEN THE CAR WILL NOT START FOR MORE THAN 5 MINUTES. IT IS RECALL 19V-813 THAT WAS IDENTIFIED A YEAR AGO AND IT IS THE FIX TO A FIX OF THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FIRST CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM LOCATED AT (280 E WASHINGTON ST, NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, MA 02760) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE TAKEN APART FOR FURTHER EVALUATION TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE I GO GET GAS TO FILL MY CAR UP AND WHEN I'M DONE I GO TO START THE THE JEEP UP IT STARTS UP THEN CUTS BACK OFF LIKE 2-3 TIMES!
THE CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE AT TIMES WHEN DRIVING AND CAR HAS A PROBLEM STARTING. THEY DON'T HAVE THE PART YET.
I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY CAR STALLING RANDOMLY SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW OFF THE LOT. I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR 8 YEARS NOW AND THEY HAVE NEVER ONCE OFFERED TO FIX IT. THEY KEPT TELLING ME NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR. THE LAST TIME I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR RANDOMLY STALLING (WHILE ON THE FREEWAY), MY WARRENTY HAS JUST EXPIRED AND THEN THEY TOLD ME I HAD TO REPLACE MY ENTIRE FUEL PUMP SYSTEM. NOW A FEW WEEKS AGO I RECEIVED A RECALL ABOUT MY FUEL PUMP SYSTEM SAYING DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE BEAUCSE ITS UNSAFE. THE MANUFACTURE HAS TOLD ME THEY WILL NOT SUPPLY ME WITH A RENTAL CAR, PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION PASS NOR WILL THEY REIMBURSE ME FOR RIDESHARE SERVICES. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE RECALL PART AS MANUFACTURER HAS NOT YET SUPPLIED IT, SO THE DEALER RECOMMENDED A 'FIX AROUND' WHICH I AGREED TO IN THE ABSENCE OF THE RECALL PART. THE FIRST LOCATION IS ABOUT 2.5 MILES FROM MY HOUSE, AND THE OTHER TWO ARE 5 MILES EACH FROM MY HOUSE. TWO OF THE THREE LOCATIONS ARE AT INTERSECTIONS WITH RED LIGHTS, WHILE THE THIRD IS SIMPLY THE LOCATION OF WHERE I WORK WHERE IT HAS STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE JUST TURNING INTO THE DRIVEWAY. AGAIN I'VE BEEN TRYING TO SCHEDULE THIS FOR 1 1/2 YEARS AND AGAIN THE DEALERSHIP BLAMES FCA AND FCA SAYS THE DEALERSHIP ISN'T ORDERING CORRECTLY AND FCA HAS RECENTLY TOLD ME THAT "SOMEONE" AT JEEP HAS BEEN CANCELLING THE ORDERS SUBMITTED WITHOUT EXPLANATION. THE FUEL PUMP RELAY IS A SAFETY RECALL GOING ON FOR THE PAST 1+ YEARS. UNKNOWN: Fact: My 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland fuel pump relay can fail while driving and cause a vehicle crash without warning. This information was provided in December, 2019, in a letter/notice from FCA. The recall number is V62/NHTSA 19V-813. Replacements for this Fuel Pump Relay are being supplied to Dealerships at the rate of 1 per week. This is unnacceptable and is forcing owners of these vehicles to put their families at risk. I cancelled my, and my family's vacation because my dealership is unable to provide a fix for this fuel pump relay, actually the SECOND fix. The first was R09/NHTSA 14V- 115.

CHRYSLER RECALL V62 SAFETY RECALL FOR FUEL PUMP RELAY IS NOW OVER 6 MONTHS OLD. STILL NO PARTS MADE AVAILABLE TO DEALERS TO PROVIDE REPAIR. PERIODICALLY CANNOT START VEHICLE DUE TO LACK OF POWER TO THE FUEL PUMP, SO CANNOT DRIVE VEHICLE SAFELY WITH POSSIBILITY ENGINE COULD STOP WHILE DRIVING. CANNOT DRIVE UNSAFE VEHICLE. WHEN I CONTACTED CHRYSLER NUMEROUS TIMES, NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHEN THIS WILL BE REMEDIED. VEHICLE IS PARKED SINCE DECEMBER. HAVE TO BORROW A CAR FROM SON. NHTSA SHOULD FORCE CHRYSLER TO DECLARE THIS AS MANDATORY RECALL. IT AFFECTS OVER 520,000 VEHICLES. ALL THOSE PEOPLE ARE RISKING THEIR LIVES AND THOSE OF THEIR FAMILIES BY DRIVING A VEHICLE WHOSE ENGINE COULD STALL WHILE DRIVING. A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT OF CHRYSLER MAY BE NECESSARY IF NHTSA CANNOT FORCE CHRYSLER TO DELIVER THE REMEDY. IF PEOPLE DIE DUE TO THE DELAYS AND NEGLIGENCE, NHTSA AND CHRYSLER ARE BOTH RESPONSIBLE. SICK AND TIRED OF THIS INCOMPETENCE AND DANGEROUS DELAY. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO MATTER HOW MANY PEOPLE COMPLAIN TO NHTSA OR CHRYSLER. LIVES ARE AT RISK AND NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
