ENGINE STALLED WHILE IN MOTION ON US HIGHWAY 101 ON 11/7/19; FORTUNATELY NO CRASH OCCURRED. WE TOOK INTO MECHANIC AT JEEP SANTA MARIA; THEY HAD IT ALL WEEK FROM 11/8/19 TO 11/15/19 AND SAID IT WAS FINE. IT APPEARS THIS WAS CAUSED BY A FAULTY PART THAT WAS INSTALLED PURSUANT TO A PREVIOUS RECALL THAT FCA HAS BEEN INVESTIGATING SINCE 2018. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
RECALL NOTICE V-62 SINCE 11/01/2019 FUEL PUMP RELAY IF BAD CAR WILL STOP CAUSE A CRASH
THE ENGINE UNEXPECTEDLY STOPS RUNNING WHEN SLOWING TO A STOP. STARTED A FEW MONTHS AGO BUT NOW IS HAPPENING ALMOST DAILY. THE VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS AT THIS POINT AS THERE HAVE BEEN A FEW CLOSE CALLS IN TRAFFIC WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THE DEALER SAYS JEEP IS WORKING ON IT BUT THERE IS NO SOLUTION. IT'S BEEN MONTHS WITH "NO SOLUTION". THIS IS DANGEROUS! THERE'S GOING TO BE AN ACCIDENT. SURELY JEEP CAN COME UP WITH SOMETHING TO RESOLVE THIS BEFORE SOMEONE DIES.

SAFETY RECALL V62 THE FUEL PUMP RELAY CAN FAIL AND THE ENGINE WILL STALL WHILE DRIVING. THE PART TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN UNAVAILABLE SINCE NOVEMBER 2019. THIS PROBLEM CAN CAUSE A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. THIS IS A PROBLEM WHICH MAKES THE VEHICLE UNUSABLE AND THERE IS NO SENSE OF URGENCY IN GETTING A REPLACEMENT PART TO FIX IT.

WHEN I PRESS THE PUSH START AND THE BRAKE, THE ENGINE WILL STALL AND NOT TURN OVER. IT HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE 4 YEARS I'VE HAD IT. THE LAST TIME I TRIED TO START IT, IT WOULD NOT CRANK. I USED JUMPER CABLES TO TRY AND REVIVE THE BATTERY. DOING THIS REVERTED POWER BACK TO MY VEHICLE, YET IT WOULD STILL NOT TURN OVER. I THEN HAD TO PUT THE KEYFOB INTO THE IGNITION AND TRY IT MANUALLY. STILL NOTHING WORKED AND MY CAR WILL NOT TURN OVER AND START. IT MAKES ONE CLICK, AND THEN NOTHING.
VEHICLE WILL NOT START DESPITE HAVING GOOD BATTERY, GOOD STARTER, GOOD PLUGS, AND GOOD FUEL PUMP. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE RELATED TO FAULTY OIL PRESSURE RELAY AND FAULTY TIPM.

THE CONTACT HAD TO RELEASE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO RETURN TO NORMAL. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MITCHELL CHRYSLER DODGE RAM (416 HOPMEADOW ST, SIMSBURY, CT 06070, (860) 408-6005) WHERE IT WAS TEST DRIVEN AND THE SPARK PLUGS FOR THE CYLINDER WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE LIFTER AND CAMSHAFT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 167,000.
IT WAS RAINING I HAD TO START BREAKING WAS GETTING CLOSE TO A RED LIGHT, COULD NOT STOP AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER CAR AND TOTALED MINE AND INJURED ME.
THERE HAS BEEN A SPORADIC ISSUE WHEN TRYING TO START MY VEHICLE WHERE IT'LL MAKE AN ATTEMPT TO TURN OVER AND GET STARTED BUT IT'S GETTING STUCK AS IF IT'S MAYBE NOT CATCHING THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL. I'VE ALSO EXPERIENCED SEAT BELT ISSUES WITH MY SEAT BELT LIGHT ON AND BEEPING AS IF IT'S NOT ON BUT IT WOULD ALREADY BE PROPERLY BUCKLED IN. I ALSO HAD AN ISSUE WITH MY ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM THAT WAS CAUSE SOME SORT OF LEAK
DRIVERS SEAT HEADREST POPPED FORWARD TO THE EXTEND POSITION WHILE SITTING IN CAR AT A STORE PARKING LOT . ENGINE AND ALL ELECTRICAL ITEMS TURNED OFF. THIS IS ONLY SUPPOSE TO HAPPEN WHEN THE AIRBAGS ARE SET OFF. THESE HEADREST COST FROM 400 TO 700 DOLLARS

THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JONES JUNCTION CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1510 BEL AIR RD, BEL AIR , MD 21014, (410) 879-6400) WHERE A TEST DRIVE WAS COMPLETED. THE DEALER NOTICED FAILURE WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT A FAILURE CODE COULD NOT BE FOUND. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK WHEN THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. PRIOR TO PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, IT WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V572000 (SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); HOWEVER, THE RECALL REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 58,738.
ON SEPT 21, 2019, JEEP'S TIPM FAILED CAUSING HATCH TO OPEN WITHOUT NOTICE, AND LIGHTS AND TURN SIGNALS TO BLINK WITHOUT ACTIVATION. WE HAD IT REPLACED AND PAID FOR THE REPAIR EVEN THOUGH TIPMS HAVE BEEN RECALLED DUE TO FUEL ISSUES. THIS REPLACEMENT TIPM FAILED AGAIN, CAUSING TURN SIGNAL TO FAIL AND NOT OPERATE. THIS "BAD" TIPM WAS REPLACED AGAIN ON OCT 10, 2019. PROBLEMS OCCURRED WHEN VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. *DT*JB
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ONE MORNING, WHEN I BEGAN TO SMELL SOMETHING BURNING. I THEN SAW SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER, ON THE SIDE OF THE STREET, TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF, AND POPPED THE HOOD. I SAW THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS LITERALLY ON FIRE! IT THEN, BURNED OUT AND BEGAN TO SMOKE. I THEN, DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AND CALLED A TOW TRUCK. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I HAD TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR. I THOUGHT THIS WAS RANDOM, UNTIL I SAW THE ISSUE ONLINE. I CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, BUT THEY SAID THEY KNEW NOTHING OF THIS ISSUE. CAN I BE REIMBURSED FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE REPLACEMENT ALTERNATOR?
I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AND TRANSITIONING THE VEHICLE TO PARK WHEN THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED. I HAD MY FOOT PRESSED FIRMLY ON THE BRAKE BUT IT DID NOT STOP AND IT WENT UP AND OVER A PARKING BARRIER INTO ANOTHER PARKED VEHICLE.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THEIR WAS A TRACTOR TRAILER TRAVELING AT A SLOW RATE OF SPEED. I PRECEDED TO PASS IT ON A TWO LANE ROAD. AS I PASSED THE TRACTOR TRAILER MY NOW FLASHING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE MY VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE, SO I PULLED OFF THE ROAD IMMEDIATELY. MY VEHICLE HAD ABOUT 100000 MILES ON IT AND HAD RAN GREAT UP UNTIL THIS POINT. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE LOCAL AUTHORIZED JEEP DEALERSHIP. THEY LET ME KNOW THAT MY LIFTERS AND CAM WAS DAMAGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IN WHICH WAS A $4000 JOB!
JUST RECENTLY BOUGHT THE CAR WITH 50,000 MILES ON IT CAR IS IN GOOD CONDITION BUT ONLY A MONTH AFTER I PURCHASED IT A LIGHT SAYING ' SERVICE 4WD' HAS POPPED UP ON MY DASH AND IVE TAKEN IT TO SEVERAL DEALERS AND THEY SAY ITS NEEDS A NEW TRANSFER CASE AND IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS. IF IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM THEN WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL ON IT, IT IS PRETTY RIDICULOUS AS MUCH AS PEOPLE PAY FOR A CAR AND THE PROBLEMS THAT GO WRONG WITH IT AND THE MANUFACTURER CANT EVEN FIX THERE OWN PROBLEMS ON THE CARS THAT BUILT! THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM AS IT IS NOT A CHEAP FIX AND IS OBVIOUSLY A PROBLEM WITH THE MANUFACTURING WHEN THE CAR WAS BUILT. WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY IT WILL NOT START WHEN THE BUTTON IS PUSHED. THE CAR SHUDDERS AND THE COMPUTER FREEZES. IT CAN ONLY START WHEN THE KEY IS USED IN PLACE OF THE PUSH BUTTON. IT SEEMS AS IF THE STARTER IS NOT RELAYING TO THE FUEL PUMP. THIS CAR UNDERWENT A BIG RECALL IN MARCH OF 2017. THE FUEL PUMP, FUSE BOX, BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR WERE REPLACED. IT WAS AT THE DEALERS FOR THREE WEEKS. THE JEEP BROKE DOWN AND HAD SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. UNFORTUNATELY, WE RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE THREE DAYS AFTER THE PROBLEM OCCURRED, SO WE HAD TAKEN IT TO OUR MECHANIC. THEN WE HAD TO HAVE AN ADDITIONAL TOW TO THE DEALERSHIP. (RECALL R09)

VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WITHIN MINUTES OF STARTING WHILE STATIONARY
WARNING LIGHTS ON DASH RANDOMLY COME ON AND OFF. BACK HATCH RANDOMLY OPENS WITHOUT ACTIVATION. HAPPENS WHEN VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND MOVING.
WHEN DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT NORMAL SPEED, THE VEHICLE JUMPED OUT OF GEAR AND INTO NEUTRAL WHILE IN THE PASSING LANE. WITH NO POWER I ALMOST HAD A CAR REAR END ME BEFORE I COULD PUT ON MY FLASHERS AND PULL OVER. WHEN I PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, IT ACTED NORMAL FOR A WHILE. BEFORE ARRIVING HOME THE VEHICLE DID THE SAME THING AGAIN. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A REPAIR SHOP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER HAD STARTED LEAKING AND THE VEHICLE WAS LOW IN TRANSMISSION FLUID. HOWEVER, WITH THIS VEHICLE THERE IS NO WAY TO CHECK THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL AND THERE WAS NOT A LOT OF FLUID LEAKAGE FOUND WHERE CAR IS NORMALLY PARKED. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED!
AT VARIOUS TIMES, WHEN CAR IS CRANKED AND PUT INTO DRIVE, THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION GETS STUCK IN GEAR AND GEARS DO NOT CHANGE AUTOMATICALLY. VERY LITTLE POWER WHEN TRYING TO DRIVE FROM BEING STOPPED. HOWEVER WHEN CAR IS TURNED OFF AND CRANKED BACK UP IT SOMETIMES RESETS THE ISSUE ELECTRONICALLY.

THE ALTERNATOR BURNED OUT, BURNING OUT ALSO THE STARTER, THE WIRING HARNESS AND THE COMPUTER. THIS SEEMS SIMILAR TO THE RECALL ORDERED FOR SMALLER JEEP ENGINES, BY OUR P60/NHTSA 14V-634 RECALL. I WAS DRIVING THE CAR WHEN THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR REMAINED IN OPERATION. I DROVE IT TO A REPAIR SHOP WHICH FOUND THE ISSUES. WHEN I GOT TO THE SHOP, I COULD SMELL A BURNING ODOR. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY BACK IN 2015. MINE WAS REPLACED IN APRIL OF 2016 THEN AGAIN IN 2017, 2018, AND NOW ONCE AGAIN NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE PAID FOR A NEW ONE AND LABOR AND ITS STILL FAULTY AND HAPPENS ABOUT A YEAR LATER EVERY TIME.

The contact called the local dealer and it was confirmed that parts were not yet available. The dealer stated that there was a waiting list and that they were only receiving two parts to perform the recall repair per week. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN A DIFFERENT STATE AND EVER SINCE I BOUGHT IT I'VE HAD FUEL PUMP SYMPTOMS. CAR STOPS GETTING FUEL TO IT AND WANTS TO SHUT OFF. NOW IT WON'T SHIFT GEARS WITHOUT SHUTTING OFF, IT ISN'T GETTING ANY FUEL TO IT AT ALL EVEN THOUGH THERE IS FUEL IN THE GAS TANK. I WENT TO GET GAS BECAUSE MY GAS LIGHT CAME ON. I SHUT MY CAR OFF TO PUMP GAS. WHEN I WAS FINISHED I WENT TO TURN MY CAR BACK ON AND IT SPUTTERED AND SHOOK AND DIDN'T WANT TO STAY ON. I TRIED TO PUT IT IN DRIVE AND MOVE AWAY FROM THE GAS PUMP AND IT WOULDN'T HARDLY MOVE. IT WAS REAL JUMPY (KIND OF LIKE A CAR OUT OF GAS) I WOUND UP HAVING TO GET IT TOWED HOME. ME AND MY FIANC LOOKED UP POSSIBLE PROBLEMS AND FOUND THAT MY MODEL OF JEEP HAD RECALLS FOR FAULTY WIRING FOR THE FUEL PUMP FUSE AND I WANT TO KNOW IF THERE'S SOMETHING I CAN DO TO RESOLVE MY PROBLEM. I HAVEN'T EVEN HAD MY CAR FOR 6 MONTHS YET.
