PASSENGER HEAD REST "POPPED" FORWARD WHILE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while traveling at highway speeds, the vehicle would stall and jerk upon the depression of the accelerator as the FCM and check engine warning lights would illuminate the instrument. The contact stated that he would be forced to pull over and restart the vehicle to resume normal driving. The contact also stated that while at a stop, the vehicle stalled as he depresses the accelerator to the floorboard. Due to the failure, another vehicle rear-ended him at a low rate of speed. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. No injuries were reported and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was able to drive away from the scene; however, the vehicle had sustained rear-end damage. The dealer was notified of the failure and was informed to bring in the vehicle for an inspection. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000. Consumer stated transmission gets stuck in eighth gear. Vehicle stopped in the middle of the freeway had to put it in park and restart to move, happened dozen of times.
DRIVERS HEADREST DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON. CAR WAS PARKED. PLASTIC CLIP BROKEN AND CANNOT RESET. REQUIRED TO BUY NEW HEADREST UNIT. SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ALREADY FILED.
I AM HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE JEEP SHIFTING INTO GEAR. THE VEHICLE SHIFTS REALLY HARD FROM 3RD TO 4TH GEAR. AT TIMES CAUSES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON AND STAY ON FOR A DAY OR TWO. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING MORE OFTEN. I HAD IN THE SHOP IN SPRING WHEN IT STARTED DOING IT BUT NOTHING COULD BE FOUND WRONG WITH IT. I JUST CANT AFFORD KEEP TAKING TO DEALERSHIP TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC DONE ON EACH TIME.
THE TRANSMISSION ELECTRONIC SHIFT LEVER IN MY 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE IS HAVING PROBLEM IN PARK AND IS IT DIFFICULT TO SHIFT . THERE WAS A JEEP RECALL # S49 AND SEVERAL MORE ALSO ISSUED BUT MY LOCAL JEEP/ CHRYSLER DEALER HERE IN ASUNCION, PARAGUAY REFUSES TO HONOR THE RECALL AND FIX THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM. PLEASE NOTE THAT IN ORDER TO FILL OUT THIS FORM AND SEND IT I HAD TO PUT FLORIDA AND A ZIP CODE. HOWEVER I LIVE AND PURCHASED THE CAR FROM THE DEALER IN ASUNCION : PARAGUAY (GARDEN AUTOMOTORES).
WHILE DRIVING, THE DRIVERS SIDE HEAD REST WAS ACTIVATED CAUSING THE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAIN TO BE DEPLOYED.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHEN NOT IN AN ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED AND WHEN I WAS GETTING IN AND BARELY TOUCHED THE HEADREST IT POPPED OPEN.
STARTED TO HEAR A LOUD CLICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. TOOK IT TO BYERS JEEP DEALERSHIP IN COLUMBUS OHIO TO HAVE IT EVALUATED . MECHANICS SAY THAT THE TRANSFER CASE IS BAD AND THE TRANSFER CASE MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED IMMEDIATELY. THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE CLICKING NOISE WAS HEARD WHILE BOTH IN STATIONARY AND DRIVING MODE.
BUBBLING OF PAINT IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS ON THE FRONT RIM OF HOOD. JEEP WILL NOT COVER SINCE JUST OUT OF 5 YEAR WARRANTY, HOWEVER IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE. *DT *TR
VEHICLE EXPERIENCES RANDOM ILLUMINATION OF MULTIPLE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WARNING LIGHTS, LOSS OF CLUSTER ILLUMINATION, LOSS OF SPEED DISPLAY, AND LOSS OF ABS AND ESC SYSTEM FUNCTIONS. SOMETIMES VEHICLE SHIFTS INTO 3RD GEAR, AND DOES NOT RESPOND TO SHIFT COMMANDS. THIS OCCURS RANDOMLY, SOMETIMES RIGHT AFTER START-UP, SOMETIMES AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF DRIVING.
PREVIOUSLY THE CLIPS ON MY PASSENGER SEAT HEADREST CAME APART. I DID FILE A REPORT ON THAT AND JEEP DID PAY TO FIX IT. NOW THE CLIPS ON THE SAME SEAT BACKREST HAVE POPPED APART. THESE CLIPS ARE OBVIOUSLY FAULTY AS MANY OTHER JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OWNERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THE NTSB NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS AND ISSUE A RECALL. I'M SURE THERE ARE MANY JEEP GC OWNERS WHO HAVE PAID THE OVER $700 BILL TO FIX THIS AND IT IS THROUGH NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN BUT A DEFECT THAT THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE FIXING. I RARELY HAVE PASSENGERS IN MY CAR AND IT IS VERY WELL CARED FOR. THERE HAS BEEN NO UNDUE STRESS PUT ON THIS SEAT WHATSOEVER TO CAUSE THIS.
AFTER RECEIVING THE V08 DIESEL EMISSIONS RECALL UPDATE, THE TRUCK IS VERY SLUGGISH TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP. NOTICEABLE DELAY FROM PRESSING ACCELERATOR TO FORWARD MOTION. ALMOST HIT NUMEROUS TIMES AS TRUCK HESITATED WHILE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. BEFORE THE EMISSIONS RECALL THIS WAS NOT AN ISSUE. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. ALSO SOME HESITATION IN SHIFTING THROUGH THE LOWER GEARS.
THE ALTERNATOR IN MY VEHICLE FAILED AND CAUSED THE CAR TO STALL WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THERE IS A RECALL, P60 ALTERNATOR BUT IT IS ONLY RELATED TO THE 3.6L ENGINE AND I HAVE THE 5.8L V8. THERE IS ALSO AN ADVANCED COMMUNICATION T3607112017 WHICH SEEMS TO DESCRIBE MY VEHICLE AND INCLUDES THE V8 JEEP BUT IT IS ALSO NOT LISTED AS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. HOW DO I FIND OUT WHY MY VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL AS MY VEHICLE WAS AFFECTED.
HAD THE ECODIESEL AEM RECALL DONE, THE DRIVABILITY OF THE VEHICLE WITH THE TURBO LAG CAN BE DANGEROUS AT TIMES, THE LAG CAN BE SEVERAL SECONDS, AND WHEN MERGING WITH TRAFFIC ENTERING TRAFFIC YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHEN IT COMES AND GOES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE 4X4 WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE CONSTANTLY LEAKED 4X4 FLUIDS, INCLUDING OIL, FUEL, AND COOLANT. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO DARCARS OF WALDORF (11755 BUS PARK DR, WALDORF, MD 20601, (301) 843-5200) WHERE THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE UNKNOWN PART WAS ON BACKORDER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,412.
MY DRIVERS SEAT SEATBELT WILL NOT RETRACT
PULLED INTO PARKING SPACE. SWITCHED OFF ENGINE AND BEFORE REMOVING SEAT BELTS TO EXIT THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, THE PASSENGER HEAD REST JUST EXPLODED STRIKING MY WIFE ON THE BACK OF THE HEAD. IF THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED ME TO TAKE MY EYES OFF THE ROAD, ABRUPTLY STOPPING TO SEE WHAT THE NOISE WAS AND CHECK ON HER. IF THE DRIVER'S HEAD REST DID THE SAME , IT WOULD SURELY HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. MY JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HAS NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT THEREFORE I BELIEVE THIS INCIDENT TO BE THE RESULT OF FAULTY DESIGN DANGEROUS TO THE OCCUPANTS.

The vehicle was diagnosed but not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
TWO MONTHS AGO, OUR JEEP DEALERSHIP PERFORMED THE V08 RECALL AS PER THE EPA/DOJ FCA ECODIESEL SETTLEMENT. SINCE THEN, I'VE EXPERIENCED LACK OF THROTTLE RESPONSE (LAG), CAUSING UNPREDICTABLE AND UNSAFE CONDITIONS WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN AT AN INTERSECTION.
ON 8-11-2019 I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT ON A PAVED ROAD WITH MY WIFE IN THE PASSENGERS SEAT AT 35 MPH. I HEARD A VERY LOUD POP AND MY WIFE LAID FORWARD ON HER LAP IN SEVERE PAIN. THE NOISE SOUNDED LIKE A GUN SHOT. WE BOTH THOUGHT THAT MY WIFE WAS SHOT BY A GUN. SHE YELLED IN PAIN. SHE ASKED ME TO CHECK HER HEAD AND NECK FOR ANY SIGNS OF BLOOD. I PULLED OVER AND CHECKED HER OUT. I NOTICED AT THAT POINT THE PASSENGER SIDE ACTIVE HEADREST HAD DEPLOYED AND STRUCK HER IN THE HEAD. WE WERE NOT IN A ACCIDENT OR IMPACTING ANYTHING. SHE HAD HEADACHES, NECK PAIN ,VOMITING AND LOSS OF SLEEP FOR TWO WEEKS. I HAVE CALLED AND E-MAILED CHRYSLER AND THEY OPENED UP A CASE. CHRYSLER SENT OUT A INSPECTOR TO INSPECT OUR JEEP AT THE JEEP DEALERSHIP. THIS ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYING IS VERY DANGEROUS. THIS HAS CAUSED SERIOUS INJURIES. NO MORE PEOPLE NEED TO GET HURT BECAUSE OF THESE DEFECTIVE DEPLOYING ACTIVE HEADRESTS. WE NEED A MANDATORY FACTORY RECALL ISSUED. NO MORE DRIVERS OR PASSENGERS NEED TO GO THRU THE PAIN THAT MY WIFE EXPERIENCED.*DT *DT *DT *TR *TR*DT CONSUMER STATED VEHICLE IS FIXED.*JB
AT 115,000 I NOTICED A PUDDLE OF OIL UNDER THE CAR. TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP THE DIAGNOSED AS A BAD TRANSMISSION PAN AND PERFORMED THE REPAIR AT A COST OF $390.35. I PICKED UP THE VEHICLE FROM THE REPAIR SHOP AND TOOK IT HOME. THE FOLLOWING NIGHT I NOTICED A PUDDLE OF OIL UNDER THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND WORSE THEN WHEN I TOOK IT IN THE FIRST TIME. AFTER FURTHER DIAGNOSTICS IT WAS DETERMINED THE OIL FILTER ADAPTER HOUSING WAS CRACKED AND NEED REPLACEMENT. I HAD THE REPAIR DONE AT A COST OF $1027.03. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I NOTICED THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE 3.6 V6.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE BATTERY INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR. THE FAILURE WAS REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CLASSIC MOTORS JEEP CHRYSLER (120 SOUTH MAIN STREET, RITCHFIELD, UTAH, (435)-896-444) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE CYLINDER HEAD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 59742917. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,064.
MAKES BUZZING NOICE, VIBRATION FROM DASH ON DRIVERS SIDE. WHEN I GO 60 70 OR MORE IS STARTS LOUD THEN SOFT. SOFT BUZZ AND GRADUALLY GETS LOUDER. DOES NOT DO IT ALL THE TIME, BUT WHEN IT DOES IT IS ANNOYING
THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL NOT TURN OFF AND THE TURN SIGNAL BLINKERS DO NOT WORK. ALL WAS WORKING; THE NEXT DAY THE PROBLEM STARTED. STARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STARTED EVEN THOUGH THE SWITCH WAS OFF. THE CONTINUED WINDSHIELD WIPER PROBLEM MADE IT EASY TO IDENTIFY THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER FOR A RECALL PROBLEM (SAFETY RECALL U65- REPROGRAM POWERTRAIN CONTROL) AND HAD THEM LOOK AT THE NEW PROBLEM, TOO. THE MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH WAS FINE BUT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW VEHICLE HARNESS AND WOULD COST OVER $3,500 TO FIX AND INSTALL. THE DEALER WOULD HAVE TO ORDER THE HARNESS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY IN STOCK. THE DEALER CHARGED $145 AND KEPT THE CAR FOR TWO DAYS TO TELL ME THAT. HAVE DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY SEVERAL TIMES IN AN EFFORT TO REBOOT THE VEHICLE COMPUTER. LOOKING ONLINE THIS IS NOT THE ONLY TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. THE PROBLEM IS UNRESOLVED.
THE ACTIVE HEADREST IN MY 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE HEADREST HAS NO PRIOR DAMAGE BEFORE THIS INCIDENT.
THE "SERVICE GEAR SHIFT" WARNING HAS APPEARED WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION (6 TIMES) AND WHILE PARKED (1TIME) AND THE TRANSMISSION FEELS LIKE IT IS STARTING TO SLIP AND WILL GEAR DOWN WHILE DRIVING. THE NEXT THING THAT OCCURS IS THE WIPERS WILL START ON THEIR OWN AND CAN NOT BE TURNED OFF. AFTER THE WIPERS ARE TRIGGERED THEN THE NEXT MESSAGE WILL SAY "UNTIL YOU REACH A DESIRED LOCATION YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SHIFT AGAIN UNTIL SERVICED". NEXT ANOTHER RANDOM MESSAGE WILL APPEAR AND THEN THE SCREEN WILL GO BLANK. THIS INCLUDES ALL DIGITAL FUNCTIONS OF THE DASH. SUCH AS SPEEDOMETER, FUEL GAUGE, TACHOMETER, ETC. SERVICE ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS ARE THE ONLY THING THAT WILL APPEAR. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED ON AUG. 2, 2019 THE CAR WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO SHIFT INTO PARK OR TURN THE CAR OFF. I HAD TO PUT ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND GET UNDER THE HOOD WHERE THE FUSE PANEL IS LOCATED AND PULL THE IGNITION FUSE TO DISABLE THE CAR. WE HAVE OFFICIALLY BEEN TO BYERS CHRYSLER LLC. 7 TIMES AND HAVE AN ONGOING COMMUNICATION CASE WITH A CORPORATE JEEP CARE ASSOCIATE. WE HAVE MUTIPLE VIDEOS THAT CAN BE SEEN OF THE ACTIONS OF THE CAR. THREE TIMES THE CAR HAS BEEN RETURNED TO US WITH NOTHING DONE EXCEPT CLEARING THE ERROR CODES IT GENERATES WHILE THIS OCCURS. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND IS NOW AT THE POINT WHERE IT WILL NOT SAFELY PARK AND TURN OFF. THE IMAGE I AM INCLUDING STATES THE THE CAR SHOULD BE SHUT OFF TO ENGAGE PARK BUT IT WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO THIS. I HAVE TO PULL THE FUSE WHILE THE CAR IS STILL IN GEAR AND RUNNING WITH THE PARKING BRAKE ON. THIS IS AS UNSAFE AS IT CAN GET AND THERE IS NO CLUE WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. WE HAVE CURRENTLY SPENT $1600 TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND HAVE HAD NO REMEDY.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN SUDDENLY SOMETHING SMACKED ME IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED SO I PULLED OVER AND GOT OUT TO SEE. IT WAS THEN THAT I NOTICED THE HEADREST HAD DEPLOYED AND WAS SEPARATED AND STICKING FORWARD. LUCKILY I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY INJURIES FROM THE SMACK TO MY HEAD & ALSO WAS STILL ABLE TO MAINTAIN MY LANE OF THE HIGHWAY EVEN THOUGH IT SCARED ME TO DEATH. I THEN TOOK IT INTO MY LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP WHERE I WAS GREETED WITH A $679 BILL FOR A NEW HEADREST AND INFORMED THAT SINCE THERE IS NO RECALL I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IT. I'M APPALLED THAT THIS IS ACCEPTABLE AND DEEMED SAFE. IN WHAT WAY IS A SPORADIC SMACK TO THE HEAD WHILE DRIVING SAFE? LET ALONE PAYING $679 FOR THAT SMACK TO THE HEAD. THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS OF THIS HAPPENING YET NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. CHRYSLER VEHICLES CONTAIN A CRITICAL SAFETY DEFECT INVOLVING THE MATERIALS USED IN ITS ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT (AHR) SYSTEM. THE AHR SYSTEMS ARE INTENDED TO QUICKLY MOVE FORWARD IN THE EVENT OF A REAR END COLLISION, RESTRAINING AND PROTECTING THE PASSENGER'S HEAD TO PREVENT WHIPLASH. THE AHR HEADRESTS ARE PRONE TO DEPLOY ABRUPTLY, EVEN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING OPERATED UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. WHEN THIS DEPLOYMENT OCCURS, THE HEADREST SPRINGS FORWARD, STRIKING THE DRIVER/PASSENGER IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD UNEXPECTEDLY. NOT ONLY DOES THIS HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE SERIOUS HEAD INJURIES TO THE DRIVER/PASSENGER OF THE VEHICLE, THE DEFECTIVE HEADREST POSES A SIGNIFICANT PUBLIC SAFETY RISK IF IT OCCURS WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE ON A HIGHWAY OR BUSY STREET. INSPECTIONS OF THE DEFECTIVE HEADRESTS SHOW THAT INFERIOR PLASTIC THAT IS PRONE TO CRACKING WAS USED FOR A CRITICAL BRACKET IN THE AHR SYSTEM. THERE IS NO WAY TO DETERMINE WHEN AND IF THE BRACKET WILL FAIL, CAUSING THE HEADREST TO DEPLOY AND SPRING FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DCH CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT OF TEMECULA (26845 YNEZ RD, TEMECULA, CA 92591, (951) 225-4541) FOR A SOFTWARE UPGRADE PER MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER: V08. AFTER THE REPAIR, THE VEHICLE WAS INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THERE WAS A DELAY IN ACCELERATION. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OVER 6 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
THE SEAT BELT DOES NOT RETRACT BACK INTO THE PLASTIC SEAT BELT GUIDE. THE PLASTIC GUIDE IS CRACKED FROM NORMAL USAGE OVER TIME. THE SEAT BELT WILL NOT LOCK UP TO HELP SAVE A PERSON'S LIFE IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT. WITH THE SEAT BELT THE WAY IT IS, IT ACTS MORE LIKE A LAP RESTRAINT ON A CHILDREN'S AMUSEMENT PARK RIDE. IT IS ALARMING THAT THIS HAS NOT BEEN FIXED BY JEEP BASED ON HOW SERIOUS OF A SAFETY ISSUE THIS IS AND HOW MANY PEOPLE I HAVE TALKED TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. *TR
CAR WON'T SHIFT PROPERLY WITH THE RECENT RECALL REPAIR. IT GETS STUCK IN D OR N AND SKIPS REVERSE WHEN TRYING TO BACK UP. WHILE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, PARKED IN DRIVEWAY, PASSENGER SEAT ACTIVE HEADREST FAILED INTO AN OPEN POSITION. AS STATED BY OTHERS, AND VERIFIED BY DEALER, PLASTIC RETAINING CLIPS FAILED AND CAUSED AN UNNECESSARY RELEASE. THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. THE DRIVERS SIDE HEAD REST COULD FAIL AT ANY MOMENT, POTENTIALLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT THAT RESULTS IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
LEATHER DASHBOARD IS BUBBLING AND JEEP CHRYSLER IS STATING I AM NO LONGER COVERED UNDER MY LIMITED WARRANTY. EXTENDED WARRANTY ONLY COVERS POWER-TRAIN. THE LEATHER ON MY ENTIRE DASHBOARD HAS STARTED TO BUBBLE AND I WOULD LIKE JEEP TO COVER THIS EXPENSE. VEHICLE IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD AND HAS 65,000 MILES.

THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER (PALMER DODGE CHRYSLER, 11460 ALPHARETTA HWY, ROSWELL, GA) WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V572000 (SERVICE BRAKES). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
CHRYSLER (JEEP) HAS A LONG RUNNING PROBLEM WITH EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS BREAKING PREMATURELY AS IN MY CASE (75,000 MILES). IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND PLACES THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE IN DANGER DUE TO EXHAUST FUMES ENTERING THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT, IN ADDITION TO EXTREMELY HOT EXHAUST GASES CREATING A FIRE HAZARD IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. CHRYSLER WILL NOT WARRANT "FASTENERS" OR FIX THE ISSUE IN IT'S MANUFACTURING PLANTS AND LEAVES THE OWNER WITH A VERY LARGE BILL TO FIX IT. CAN YOU PLEASE RESEARCH AND MAKE CHRYSLER RESPONSIBLE FOR CONTINUING TO ALLOW A KNOWN AND DANGEROUS SITUATION TO CONTINUE? I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER AND FILED A COMPLAINT AND REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE
THE DRIVERS SIDE ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYED WITHOUT A COLLISION. I WAS DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT AND HEARD A LOT SOUND AND WAS HIT IN THE BACK OF HEAD BY AN UNKNOWN OBJECT AT THE TIME. AFTER STOPPING AND COMPOSING MYSELF AND CHECKING MYSELF OUT AS I THOUGHT I MAY HAVE BEEN SHOT. I REALIZED THE HEADREST HAD DEPLOYED. CONTACTES TWO DEALERSHIPS IN MY AREA AND BOTH SAID THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING AND IT WAS NOT A RECALL AND NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY
VEHICLE HAS LOST POWER AND FUEL MILEAGE AFTER COMPLETING THE FCA APPROVED EMISSIONS MODIFICATION. THERE IS A HAZARDOUS DEAD SPOT/LAG IN ACCELERATION FROM A STOP. ALL DRIVING CHARACTERISTICS HAVE CHANGED DRASTICALLY EVEN AFTER FCA CLAIMS NOTHING WOULD BE AFFECTED BY THE AEM.
ENGINE SHUDDERED AND STOPPED WHILE IN PARK. TRIED TO RESTART, BUT WOULD NOT START (ELECTRICAL WAS FINE). HAD IT TOWED AND FUEL INJECTOR REPLACED. DROVE FOR APPROXIMATELY 75 MILES AND ACCELERATION CEASED ON BUSY HIGHWAY AT 70MPH. WHEN ABLE TO PULL OVER AND STOP, WOULD NOT GO INTO PARK (EVEN THOUGH SHIFTER INDICATED THAT IT WAS IN PARK). DASHBOARD INDICATED THAT MY SPEED WAS TOO HIGH TO SHIFT (I DO NOT RECALL THE FULL MESSAGE) AND IT BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS INTO TRAFFIC. I TURNED IT OFF AND IT STOPPED ROLLING. TOW TRUCK SAID HE HAD DIFFICULTY PUTTING IT IN NEUTRAL. PRIOR TO FAILURE TO ACCELERATE, THERE WAS A HEAVY RUMBLING SOUND WHEN GAS PEDAL PUSHED; THEN IT SOUNDED LIKE SMALL PARTS WERE FALLING OFF OF THE ENGINE; THEN GRINDING SOUND BUT NO ACCELERATION. I SAW A BRIEF MESSAGE ABOUT 4WHEEL DRIVE, BUT WAS TRYING TO GET TO SAFETY, SO I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT SAID. I HAD A PASSENGER AND TODDLER IN THE CAR. FRIGHTENING!

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
SEAT BELT TENSIONER HAVE SEVERAL HAIRLINE CRACKS ON THEM (DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER). THE PASSENGER'S SIDE TENSIONER FINALLY BROKE AND PINCHED THE SEAT BELT AND RESTRICTED THE SEAT BELT FROM RETRACTING INTO THE RETRACTOR IN THE SIDE HOUSING. WE DID NOT KNOW THE SEAT BELT HAD A PROBLEM TILL ONE DAY MY WIFE GOT IN THE CAR AND WENT TO PUT HER SEAT BELT ON. SHE PUT THE BUCKLE IN AND THE SEAT BELT NEVER RETRACTED INTO THE WALL TO PROPERLY FIT HER ACROSS HER CHEST. A JEEP DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY ($329) PLUS $125 FOR LABOR.
DRIVER'S SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON. VEHICLE SAT IN DRIVEWAY OVER NIGHT AND WHEN MY WIFE LEFT FOR WORK SHE NOTICED THE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT HAD DEPLOYED.
MY CARS WINDSHIELD WIPERS SUDDENLY TURNED ON AND WOULD NOT TURN OFF. EVEN AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF AND TURNING IT BACK ON THEY WOULD STILL NOT TURN OFF. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE SWITCH AND MOTOR WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. I KNOW THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE AS I HAVE RESEARCHED IT EXTENSIVELY. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR AND I BELIEVE THIS IS ANOTHER ISSUE.

THE CONTACT STATED THE LOCAL DEALER WHITTEN BROTHERS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM LOCATED AT 10701 MIDLOTHIAN TURNPIKE, RICHMOND, VA 23235, (804) 378-0707, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE MANUFACTURER OR ASSEMBLE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
THE ACTIVE HEADREST ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DEPLOYED UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED. AS I UNDERSTAND IT, THIS IS ONLY MEANT TO HAPPEN DURING A COLLISION AND IS A SAFETY FEATURE OF THE VEHICLE. THANKFULLY IT DID NO STRIKE MY HEAD DURING THE PROCESS.
DASHBOARD LIGHTS TURN ON AND OFF, WINDSHIELD, STEERING WHEEL, GEAR LEVER, TRUCK SLOWS DOWN, AND SERVICE SHIFTER
VEHICLE HAD FAULTY DTCM (TRANSFER CASE CONTROL MODULE) AT 73,000 MILES. FAULTY UNIT RESULTED IN MISREADINGS SENT TO TRANSFER CASE CAUSING TRANSFER CASE TO FAIL MECHANICALLY. NO CODES OR ARTIFACTS LEFT BEHIND FROM FAULT. DTCM AND TRANSFER CASE BOTH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO FAULTY CONTROL MODULE. THIS ISSUE IS COMMONLY REPORTED ONLINE ACROSS JEEP FORUMS FOR VEHICLES USING THIS DTCM, AND FAILS COMMONLY. WHEN INQUIRING WITH DEALERSHIP ON REPAIRS, DEALER STATED THIS PART IS KNOWN TO FAIL COMMONLY BUT NO TSB HAS BEEN ISSUED. OPENED WARRANTY CASE WITH FCA REGARDING FAILURE OF MOPAR BRANDED PART ON VEHICLE. FCA WARRANTY DEPARTMENT WAS ONLY WILLING TO SPLIT REPAIR COST 50/50 (VEHICLE OUTSIDE OF POWER TRAIN WARRANTY) EVEN AFTER NOTING THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE.
VEHICLE IN MOTION. FREEWAY DRIVING SPEED ON US101. DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT HEADREST RESTRAINT SUDDENLY 'POPPED' AND EXPANDED INTO THE BACK OF MY HEAD WITHOUT WARNING. NO ACCIDENT OR OTHER TO CAUSE THE RESTRAINT SYSTEM TO RELEASE. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO HAVE OCCUR UNEXPECTEDLY WHEN DRIVING 60 MPH. UPON EXAMINATION, I FOUND THE STRUCTURE THAT HOLDS THE SYSTEM TOGETHER, WHICH IS UNDER CONSTANT PRESSURE, WAS MADE OF PLASTIC. THE PLASTIC ARMS THAT HOLD A METAL RELEASE PIN, HAD FATIGUED OVER TIME AND SIMPLY BROKE, WHICH RELEASED THE HEAD RESTRAINT UNEXPECTEDLY. FURTHER, IT CANNNOT BE RESET. REQUIRES AN EXPENSIVE REPLACEMENT. THIS IS A DANGEROUS MATERIAL CONSTRUCTION DESIGN DEFECT.
WE STARTED OUR VACATION DRIVE TO FLORIDA JUNE 9, 2019 WHEN WE GOT TO FLORIDA JUNE 11, 2019 WE GOT A MESSAGE THAT POPPED UP ON OUR VEHICLE THAT SAID SERVICE SHIFTER. WE WERE REALLY UPSET BECAUSE WE JUST BOUGHT THE VEHICLE ON JUNE 6, 2019. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS US TO PAY A $250 DEDUCTIBLE FOR THE ISSUES WE ARE HAVING WITH IT. THIS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER OUR WARRANTY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 89,000.
ROCKER ARM ISSUE ON THE 3.6L ENGINE SEEM TO BE A FABRICATION PROBLEM THAT THE COMPANY WILL ONLY FIX IF ONE OF THOSE BRAKE DURING THE WARRANTY. AFTER THAT YOU'RE ON TOUR OWN. IT IS UNFAIR THAT THE COMPANY KNOWING THAT THE ENGINE HAVE AN ISSUE WILL NOT RECALL IT AND HAVE IT FIX.
