A SCREEN APPEARED ASKING IF I WANT TO ADJUST THE CLOCK AND IT BEEPS CONSTANTLY AND WON'T GO AWAY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME MY RADIO IS DEFECT AND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THE YEAR AND MODEL
I PURCHASED A 2018 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE GRAND LIMITED ON 02/24/21 & THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM DISPLAYED I WAS IN THE WRONG CITY. I CALLED UCONNECT & JEEP NUMEROUS TIMES & WAS ADVISED TO RECALIBRATE THE NAVIGATION & GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS. THIS DID NOT WORK & WAS ADVISED ON JEEP HAD MY INFORMATION IN THE SYSTEM THAT I WAS THE NEW OWNER THEY WOULD LOOK INTO HELPING ME PAY FOR THE PROBLEM & TAKE IT TO JEEP. I TOOK IT TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP AFTER TAKING IT TO THE ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM & THEY UNABLE TO FIX THE ISSUE & WAS ADVISED BY JEEP THE RADIO HAD INTERNAL FAILURE & THE UNIT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. CONTACTED JEEP & UCONNECT WHO HAVE NOW RENIGED ON THERE WORD & ARE ADVISING ME I NOW HAVE TO PAY FOR REPAIRS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE AFTER DOING ONLINE RESEARCH & I WOULD LIKE SOME ASSISTANCE WITH GETTING JEEP TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS TO MY VEHICLE.
In accident 2/23/21, vehicle was T- boned in intersection which sent me into cement overpass. No airbags dash or side deployed. Vehicle was total loss.
WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK, THE GAS PUMP CLICKS OFF CONSTANTLY. IT HAPPENS AT MULTIPLE GAS STATIONS AND WITH DIFFERENT STYLE PUMP HANDLES. I HAVE TO REMOVE THE GAS PUMP FROM THE TANK AND ROTATE IT IN ORDER TO PUT GAS IN MY VEHICLE. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE FOR THIS ISSUE SINCE I BOUGHT THE JEEP NEW IN 2018. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING CONSISTENTLY AND I'VE READ ABOUT OTHERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE CAPLESS GAS SYSTEM IN THIS PARTICULAR MODEL AND YEAR. THE DEALERSHIP DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO SOLVE THE ISSUE, I FEAR THAT I WILL BE IN A POSITION THAT I CAN NOT PUT GAS IN MY VEHICLE DUE TO THIS ISSUE.

THIS OCCURRED AFTER THE UPDATE. OCCURRENCE WAS APPROX. 02/20/2021 AFTER THE LAST UPDATE. I'VE HAD THE DEALERSHIP CHECK THE ISSUE, AND THEY ADVISED THAT IT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE, AND I WOULD NEED TO BUY A NEW RADIO. THEY HAD A BIG STACK OF RADIO ORDERS SITTING THERE - ALL DUE TO THE SAME ISSUE. THE RADIOS SHOULD BE RECALLED AS THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD ISSUE. YOUR UPDATE CAUSED THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM TO BREAK DOWN. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THE NEW RADIO. PLEASE CONTACT ME TO DISCUSS.
Touch screen in Jeep is delaminating. The delaminating has now caused the screen to malfunction. The screen is unusable and continues to cycle on its own through different stations, different calls, the seat controls, the back up camera (which is very disorienting on the highway) and through the apps.

FEARFUL MORE THINGS ELECTRICAL COULD GO WRONG. OCCURRENCE WAS APPROX. 02/19/2021 AFTER THE LAST UPDATE.
STARTED MAKING A CRACKING LOSE METAL NOISE WHEN HITTING A SMALL BUMP OR TURNING THE WHEEL ALL THE WAY TO EITHER SIDE...WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY 405 SOUTH COMING FROM THE 10 DOWNTOWN..I WAS GOING ABOUT 40 MPH AS RUSH HOUR STARTED..ON A SMALL RAMP TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED SHAKING AND WITHIN A SEC THE FRONT DRIVER WHEEL ROLLED OUT , TRUCK LANDED HARD ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE STILL MOVING BREAKS GOT STUCK, SHIFT IT TO NATURAL, PUSH BOTTOM TO KILL THE ENGINE. AND EMERGENCY BREAK WAS APPLIED TO STOP THE TRUCK.. FENDER AND BALL JOINTS AND OTORS WERE DAMAGE AS WELL AS THE SHOCKS I BELIEVE...
61,000 BROKEN WATER PUMP AND BLOWN HEAD GASKET
ABOUT 47 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT OUTSIDE DROVE FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES WITH INTERIOR TEMP SET TO 72 DEGREES DOWN A HIGHWAY. WINDOWS STARTED FOGGING UP SO TURNED ON THE DEFROST. HEARD A CRACK AND WINDOW CRACKED DOWN MIDDLE OF WINDSHIELD ABOUT 10' SPREAD TO ABOVE THE MIRROR AND TURNED TOWARD DRIVER SIDE WINDOW. LATER SKIPPED ABOUT 2 INCHES AND STARTED AGAIN. BY 2 HOURS LATER CRACK SPREAD TO TOP OF WINDSHIELD AND ALMOST TO END OF DRIVER'S SIDE.
THE SHIFTER WOULD NOT MOVE AT ALL. IT THEN STATED TO "SERVICE THE SHIFTER" WITHIN MINUTES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR FROM CARMAX AND WITHIN 12 HOURS THAT CAME ON AFTER THEY DID A FULL BUMPER TO BUMPER INSPECTION.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that several warning lights were illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact stated there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle will disable a message was displayed and the vehicle shut off. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer and was diagnosed that the battery and fuse block needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
My Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit was purchased new in 2018. I am the only owner and primary driver. In early 2020 I noticed some bubbling with the leather of the dashboard. It continued to bubble up a little at a time until today, November 7, 2023 it is so bubbled up that the delaminated leather blocks the air vent that defrosts my windsheild; blocks completely any possibility of warm air reaching the windshield wipers. In freezing weather conditions this becomes very dangerous. I was driving in a blizzard down the freeway with very low visibility. The only way I could see anything was to have the wipers going at full speed. Because they were not receiving any warm air from the defrost vents they froze up in the closed position and would not move. Due to freeway traffic and conditions I could not pull over but I could not see. I nearly rear ended a vehicle in front of me and could not see to trade lanes and try to pull off. I was able to roll down my window, grab and flip the wiper to get it moving WHILE DRIVING. My front passenger was able to do the same and we continued to drive this way with our windows down until we could pull off. Other drivers with functioning dashboards where the warm air was reaching the wiper area as intended were not having the same problem I was. The delaminated leather is also a problem because my windshield will not defog on the lower half and visibility can be very poor. This may not be as big a hazard but still is a hazard because of the reduced visibility.
PUT MY TRUCK IN PARK OPEN MY DOOR WALK IN FRONT OF MY TRUCK TO OPEN MY GATE. TURN AROUND ONLY TO SEE MY TRUCK LEAPING TOWARDS ME. LUCKILY FOR ME THE TRUCK RAN INTO THE GATE BEFORE I SLIDE THE GATE.. THERE IS CLEARLY A BIG PROBLEM AND CHRYSLER DON'T WANT TO ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY.
The radio continues to turn on and off by itself. Attempts to make phone calls when nothing was dialed. GPS turns on and off when it is not being utilized. Air and heat turns on and off when not being utilized.
THE BLOWER MOTOR HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE WITHIN A 4 MONTH PERIOD. 1ST TIME, HOT AIR WAS BLOWING WHEN A/C ON. 2ND TIME, THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE WHEN A/C ON. ALSO, THE START/ STOP FEATURE NOT WORKING AS OF 1 MONTH AGO. TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP LAST WEEK TO GET IT FIXED AND THEY SAID IT WAS FIXED, BUT STILL NOT WORKING. 1/25/2021
THE TOP TRIM JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 2018 LEATHER DASH IS WRINKLED IS ALSO HAS OVER FOUR AIR BUBBLES. VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN EXPOSED TO SEVERE WEATHER CONDITIONS NOR HAS BEEN INTO ANY KIND OF ACCIDENT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER BERTERA DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM OF WESTFIELD (167 SPRINGFIELD RD, WESTFIELD, MA 01085, (413)485-7773) HOWEVER, THE REPAIR WAS STILL PENDING. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 124,000.
AIR CONDITIONER EVAPORATOR LEAKING INSIDE VEHICLE CAUSING FREON TO GET IN THE CAR AND GET IN OUR LUNGS. ALSO THIS CAUSES IT TO GET INTO THE ENVIRONMENT

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY FIRKINS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (2700 1ST ST, BRADENTON, FL 34208) THAT PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE AND ONLY 1 UNIT PER MONTH OF PARTS WOULD BE SHIPPED AND AVAILABILITY TO PLACE AN ORDER FOR PARTS WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY 7 MONTHS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. Uconnect 8.4 has severe delamination causing bubbling and glare on the causing problems with reading the navigation map. Causing potential accident and distractions
2018 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. FIRST DAY OF OWNERSHIP, SERVICE 4WD LIGHT APPEARS. CYCLE IGNITION OFF AND BACK ON, LIGHT DISAPPEARS. ENGAGED 4 LOW TO ENSURE SYSTEM IS WORKING. WHEN VEHICLE SHIFTED TO 4 LOW, SERVICE 4WD LIGHT APPEARS AGAIN. ALSO SERVICE STABILITRAC, FORWARD COLLISION NOT AVAILABLE. CAR IS STUCK IN 4 LOW AND WILL NOT GO TO AWD MODE. CAR IS BASICALLY STUCK AND WILL NOT DRIVE OUTSIDE OF 4 LOW. CANNOT SHIFT OUT OF 4LOW OR PUT TRANSFER CASE IN NEUTRAL.
ISSUE WITH AUTOMATIC START/STOP LIGHT TURNING ON, WHICH THEN LEADS TO ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON. HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING, AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNS ON AND ALARM SOUNDS IT CAUSES VEHICLE TO SHIFT WHICH JERKS THE VEHICLE. IT HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE AND HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE DEALER 4 DIFFERENT TIMES, SEVERAL PARTS FIXED, AND I AM STILL HAVING THE ISSUE
The unconnect system starts to bounce from navigation to radio and then bounces between radio and navigation and doesn’t allow user to change anything on the screen.
My radio is experiencing delamination and I am able to get my vehicle serviced if needed. The delamination causes my screen to freeze and I am sometimes unable to control my air conditioning/heat and sometimes am unable to use my backup camera. When the screen freezes we have to unhook the battery just so the screen will go off. Most times I’m unable to do anything on the screen.
Touch screen is delaminating and has ghost touch causing random unintentional functions to be selected and others to be obscured. Heated seats come on and won't turn off. Phone calls are made on their own. Repeated screen messages from ghost touch selections obstruct use of screen for intended purposes which include most vehicle controls. It presents a serious driving distraction. I consider this a safety issue. It is a known defective part for which Jeep has a replacement but won't offer the replacement at no cost out of warranty. Cost is approximately $1,000.
The infotainment system (radio) has been delaminating and has ghost touches. It stops to work at any moment causing a safety issue. Reverse camera stops working and the ghost touches are very distracting while driving.
The screen is not working properly and is delaminating. This causes a distraction when trying to follow map directions, change heating settings as well as UConnect safety functions. Unsafe and accident causing
The primary display used for the backup camera, radio functions, hands free mobile devices, climate controls, etc. is delaminating which causes a potential unsafe situation. 1) while backing up the display causes a reflection that induces blind spots 2) button presses are missed or completely ignored which causes the operator, if it's the driver, a lengthy distraction thus leading to a potential safety hazard while operating the vehicle
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE SUN ROOF GLASS FRACTURED WITHOUT IMPACT. THE SUN ROOF INTERIOR COVER PREVENTED THE FRACTURED GLASS FROM FALLING INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,820.
Uconnect System Malfunction/Delamination: EXTREME SAFETY ISSUE: 1. Screen freezes and fails to project image onscreen while backing up. 2. Independent of operator touching screen: --system turns on/off. --increases/decreases volume. --changes stations, and media modes. --navigation frequently freezes during critical intersections. --climate control inaccessible. --randomly dials 911 and other random phone numbers. 3. UConnect fails to turn off even after leaving vehicle. Vehicle is primarily driven by inexperienced 17-yr-old driver. He gets disoriented when back-up camera freezes causing him to stop/park/restart vehicle very possibly in harms way. He has consistently complained about how distracting it is to try to control the system malfunctions while driving. Very often needing to pull over in areas that may not be safe. I have called Jeep Cares, FCA Recall Assistance Center, and visited Dealer Parts Dept and Service Dept. They are aware of but refuse to address the problem in spite of NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE until I pay them non-refundable $195 for them to officially diagnose a known problem and activate my case. I have a video taken in early 2021 (before end of warranty) thats illustrates some of the issues, but could only upload a still image below.
Issue is with Uconnect Screen that has a widely known issue of glue getting behind the screen and causing phantom inputs. Multiple issues start occurring with the screen that are very distracting while driving. Now my wife has to play with the screen to get the AC to work correctly and that's while driving. This has to be unacceptable because now you have a distracted driver have to deal with the screen but the fact EVERYONE knows this is a defect of the device. From the dealership where I bought the vehicle to the Uconnect support person who personally told me that this was ridiculous that the manufacturer has not been made to correct this even when they (Chrysler) knows this. I understand that you do not deal with shady business practices but now this has become such an issue that I believe it leads to distracted driving. That is a safety issue and that needs to be looked into by NHTSA. Unfortunately we had been dealing with this issue for a while not know what it really was and when we took our vehicle into the deal we were outside of our extended bumper to bumper warranty. The repair we have been told will cost between 1500-2000 dollars. I find this to be unacceptable especially for such a young vehicle. Thank you for your time. UCONNECT 4C 8.4" DISPLAY W/NAV SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO: FAVORITES ARE SAVED, BUT WHEN NOTIFICATION THAT A FAVORITE IS PLAYING, THE SCREEN IS EMPTY. BEEN HAPPENING AT LEAST 6 MONTHS. REACHED OUT TO UCONNECT, AND THEY SAID THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, AND SUGGESTED UPGRADING SOFTWARE THROUGH LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP. TECH FROM DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THEY COULD UPDATE MY SOFTWARE, BUT, IT COULD RENDER THE UNIT UNUSABLE....ALONG WITH MY HVAC CONTROLS. A RECENT SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS AVAILABLE OVER-THE-AIR, BUT IT DID NOT REMEDY THE ISSUE. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS DAILY, WHETHER DRIVING OR STATIONARY. NOT ONLY AFFECTING MY 2018 GRAND CHEROKEE, BUT MY WIFE'S 2019 DODGE DURANGO WITH THE SAME RADIO.

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V699000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact called the local dealer who stated that the parts were not available. The contact was placed on the waiting list. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified however, no further assistance was provided. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
FOR THE PAST 2 WEEKS MY RADIO CHANGES STATIONS BACK AND FORTH, THE AIR CONDITIONER GOES HIGH TO LOW REAL FAST BUT TODAY REALLY SCARED ME I PUT ON MY BLINKER TO TURN LEFT AND IT STARTED SWITCHING RIGHT TO LEFT AND THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS FIXING TO GO AROUND ME ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND WHEN IT SWITCHED TO THE RIGHT IT SCARED HIM AND HE SLAMMED ON HIS BREAKS AND THE CAR BEHIND HIM ALMOST HIT HIM. ALSO, SOMETIMES WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE IT KINDA JUMPS INTO REVERSE. THE BACK ARCH HASN'T BEEN WANTING TO CLOSE EITHER WHEN I PUSH THE BUTTON ALL OF THE THUGS HAPPEN WHILE JUST STARTING IT TO GOING ANYWHERE
UConnect stereo face is delaminating which started about 20 months ago ( when Covid caused labor shortages and very long waits to get to a dealer) and is getting worse. This is causing the stereo to change stations, make outgoing phone calls, hanging up on calls, disconnecting the phone, powering itself on and off, loss of Navigation, not to mention the loss of heated seats and steering wheel. I tried calling FCA and the woman (Wendy) was just not wanting to hear anything other than to tell me to take it to a dealer. RUDE !! She refused to transfer me to her supervisor... This is a VERY WELL KNOWN ISSUE with this stereo. My wife is the driver of this vehicle and I do not want her in an unsafe condition. Of course a Dealer wants the vehicle for an entire day instead of taking 15 seconds to walk out and look at the display and verify that it is in fact the KNOWN ISSUE and then order the stereo and make yet another appointment maybe months later with the parts shortages everywhere, leaving my wife to continue driving the vehicle in the unsafe condition. PLEASE issue a RECALL for this KNOWN problem... Thank You.
INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM KEEPS REBOOTING, GOES INTO BOOT MODE EVEN WHILE DRIVING. CAUSED TOTAL DISTRACTION TO THE DRIVER WHILE DRIVING WITH SUDDEN FULL BLAST OF AIR CONDITION OR VOLUME GOING UP AND DOWN WITHOUT CONTROL. THIS IS A FULL SAFETY ISSUE AS AT ONE POINT MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AND THE SPEEDOMETER WENT TOTALLY BLANK AT NIGHT. ALL PROBLEMS GRADUALLY STARTED IN OCTOBER 2020. IN THE LATEST SAFETY RELATED ISSUE THE JEEP WAS NO LONGER DRIVABLE AS THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM WAS DRAINING THE BATTERY. THE JEEP HAD TO BE JUMPED STARTED MULTIPLE TIMES DURING THE DAY AND GOT STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.
I WAS DRIVING BETWEEN 50 - 55 MPH AND WITHOUT WARNING THERE WAS A REALLY HARD HIT AND LOUD NOISE THAT I THOUGHT MAY HAVE BEEN A BLOW OUT. IT WAS DAYLIGHT AND NO DEBRIS IN THE ROAD THAT I HIT TO CAUSE ANY DAMAGE. I HAD NEW TIRES THAT WAS APPROXIMATELY 5 MONTHS OLD AND 44,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE. MY INSURANCE SENT OUT PEOPLE TO LOOK INTO THE SITUATION AND IT SEEMS THE RIGHT LOWER CONTROL ARM AND BALL JOINT SNAPPED WHICH IN TURN CAUSE THE WHOLE INSIDE OF MY TIRE TO BE SLASHED.
WHILE SITTING IN MY JEEP (PARKED) I REACHED INTO THE BACK SEAT FROM THE DRIVER SEAT. THE DRIVER SIDE HEADREST POPPED RANDOMLY. I LOOKED UP HOW TO RESET IT AND IT APPEARS THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE 2014 DUE TO THE PLASTIC RETENTION CLIPS BREAKING AT RANDOM. SEEING AS HOW IT IS A SAFETY MEASURE TO REDUCE INJURY WHEN REAR ENDED I FEEL AS IF THIS IS SOMETHING JEEP SHOULD RECALL SINCE THIS HAS BEEN A REOCCURRING PROBLEM FOR ALMOST 5 YEARS.
WHILE DRIVING ON A DIRT ROAD THE PASSENGER HEADREST DEPLOYED AND HIT MY WIFE'S HEAD. SHE STILL HAVE A STIFF NECK SINCE. IT LOOKS LIKE A LATCH IS BROKEN IN THE HEADREST AS WE ARE NOT ABLE TO PUT IT BACK INTO PLACE. IT IS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AND DANGEROUS TO SIT ON THE PASSENGER SEAT NOW.
DRIVING ON THE STREET -JEFFERSON BLVD. ON MY WAY HOME AND MY EXCELARATOR PEDAL WAS STUCK AND COULD NOT STOP THE CAR AND HIT LARGE ESCALADE IN FRONT OF ME, THANK GOD FOR THAT. HIS CAR WAS BARELY SCRATHED AND MINE ENDED UP $6,500 IN REPAIRS LESS $1,000 DEDUCTIBLE. IT WAS QUITE FRIGHTENING. I WAS NOT HURT.*DT*JB
I WAS SITTING OUTSIDE OF MY GARAGE DOOR WAITING FOR IT TO FULLY OPEN, I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE RPMS OF MY CAR MAXED OUT AND MY CAR WENT FORWARD THROUGH MY GARAGE AND INTO MY LIVING ROOM. I NEVER ONCE TOUCHED THE ACCELERATOR AND TRIED BRAKING WITH BOTH FEET AND MY CAR WOULD NOT STOP. THERE ARE BURN OUT MARKS LEFT THROUGHOUT MY GARAGE WHERE YOU CAN SEE I WAS HOLDING THE BRAKE. MY CAR WAS COMPLETELY TOTALED, MY SEATBELT ALSO DID NOT LOCK UP DURING THE INCIDENT.

WHILE DRIVING MY ENTIRE RADIO SCREEN FREEZES, CAN'T CONTROL TEMPERATURE OR RADIO. THIS HAPPENS SPORADICALLY WHILE I AM DRIVING SOMETIMES EVERY 2 MINUTES. IT IS VERY DISTRACTING AND I AM AFRAID IT IS GOING TO CAUSE A ELECTRICAL FIRE. THIS CAN HAPPEN IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE CAR STOPS AND THE BACKUP CAMERA FREEZES OR IT CAN HAPPEN WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION DRIVING. I HAVE NOT CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP YET BECAUSE 2 OTHER VEHICLES I HAVE ARE GETTING RECALLS REPAIRED. THIS SCREEN CONTROLS EVERYTHING IN THE VEHICLE AND SHOULD BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED IF IT HAS ISSUES. I PLAN TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP IN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE U-CONNECT SYSTEM FAILED AS THE RADIO AND BLUETOOTH RANDOMLY DISENGAGE WITH A LOUD NOISE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER'S AND DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT WARMER WOULD INADVERTENTLY ENGAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BLUEBONNET JEEP (283 IH 35 EAST, NEW BRAUNFELS, TX 78130) WHERE THE FAILURE WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE U-CONNECT SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE WARRANTY BEING EXPIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED AND THAT ANY REPAIRS WOULD BE AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,750.
BACK UP CAMERA STOPPED WORKING. DOES NOT COME WHEN TRANSMISSION IS IN REVERSE AND WILL NOT WORK FROM APPS ON SCREEN. THE RADIO DOESN'T SHUT OFF EITHER.
SERVICE AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM IMMEDIATELY WARNING POPS UP AFTER BRAKING ON A DECLINE... VEHICLE MAKE A LOUD COMPRESSOR TYPE NOISE. SEEMS TO BE COMING FROM FRONT RIGHT WHEEL/ENGINE AREA.
TOUCHSCREENS ARE DE-LAMINATING, CAUSING ISSUES WITH RADIO CONTROL, BACKUP CAMERA AND BACKUP CAMERA SENSOR SYSTEM. IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE FOR PEDESTRIANS AND OTHER VEHICLES AS MUCH AS IT IS A DISTRACTION FOR DRIVERS - RADIO STATIONS AND SETTINGS CHANGING WHILE DRIVING, ETC. THERE IS A GROWING NUMBER OF VEHICLES MANUFACTURED IN 2018 THAT HAVE THE UCONNECT 8.4 SCREEN ENCOUNTERING THIS PROBLEM, INCLUDING OTHER LINES SUCH AS THE DODGE RAM.

AS I DROVE OFF THE LOT I NOTICED THE LEATHER WAS BUBBLED AND PEELING UP. I CONTACTED THE DEALER. I CAN'T SEEM TO GET HELP BUT ONLINE SHOWS THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE WITH THE OVERLAND.
WHILE IN MOTION THE DISPLAY WILL FREEZE, AND REMAIN ON AND FROZEN EVEN WHEN VEHICLE IS PUT IN REVERSE, AND AFTER THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF, AND TURNED ON AGAIN. THE LAST SCREEN IT WAS ON REMAINS. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS LAST TIME WAS NOVEMBER OF 2019, IT RECENTLY HAPPENED IN AUGUST 2020.
