The rear window latch does not work. It will not open to latch the window closed with the back door. The window then opens when driving. I have a bungee cord holding my window closed. So anyone can enter my vehicle and it moves when I stop or go. I am ot able to use my back door due to having to redo it everytime. My driverside door also does not lock or unlock all the doors when I press the lock or unlock button. I have to open my door and shut off jeep and try numerous times for ot to work.

IGNITION SWITCH NOT TURNING WHEN ATTEMPTING TO CRANK VEHICLE. I HAD RECENTLY DROVE MY VEHICLE. PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT MY IGNITION SWITCH MADE A LOUDER NOISE WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO TURN OVER THE VEHICLE. NOW IT'S NOT WORKING AT ALL.
ALL THE LIGHTS STAY ON AND WONT GO OUT THE WINDOW WILL NOT GO DOWN OR UP

TRIED TO START MY JEEP WITH PUTTING CAR KEYS IN THE IGNITION, NOTHING HAPPENED, SO SINCE I HAVE REMOTE CAR KEYS I TRIED THEM ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE STREET AND CAR DID START. SO NOW I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO CAUSE NOW I NEED TO USE MY REMOTE CAR KEYS. IT ALSO MAKES SOME NOISES WHEN YOU BACK UP THE CAR.
REAR POWER WINDOWS JUST FELL TO THE BOTTOM AND THEY WON'T GO UP ANYMORE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, THE HORN SOUNDED NUMEROUS TIMES WITHOUT WARNING AND WOULD NOT STOP. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DISCONNECTED THE HORN. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIPM WAS CAUSING THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 261,000.
ON 6/5/2015, WHILE ON THE FREEWAY, THE DASHBOARD WENT CRAZY. ENGINE AND AIRBAG LIGHTS FLASHED, FUEL, TEMPERATURE, AND SPEED GAUGES WENT DEAD (ZERO), AIR CONDITIONING STOPPED. I DROVE STRAIGHT TO THE ELK GROVE DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND WHAT WAS WRONG. UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THE COMPUTER MEMORY DID NOT SHOWED THEM ANYTHING. THEY PERFORMED THE 120K SERVICE INSTEAD. ON 6/18/2015, WHILE DRIVING AT 15MPH IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME, I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TOOK A VIDEO OF THE DASHBOARD, AND AGAIN DROVE TO THE ELK GROVE DEALERSHIP. AS OF TODAY, THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE/FIND WHAT IS WRONG. THEY KNOW IS A CONTROL MODULE, BUT DO NOT KNOW WHICH ONE. SINCE OTHER JEEP MODELS EXPERIENCING SIMILAR PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN SUBJECT TO RECALL, I WANT TO KNOW WHY NOT FOR THE 2005 MODEL. I FEAR FOR MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF DRIVERS AROUND ME SHOULD THIS CONTROL MODULE KILLS THE ENGINE WHILE I AM ON THE FREEWAY. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT TRANSPORTATION WHILE THE CAR IS HELD HOSTAGE FOR OBSERVATION. THIS MODULE HAS A FACTORY OR DESIGN DEFECT THAT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED BY JEEP!
I WENT TO START MY JEEP AND IT CAUGHT ON FIRE UNDER THE HOOD. ALSO, IT SOMETIMES DOESN'T START, WHEN IT DOES AND I'M DRIVING, IT STALLS IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THIS HAPPENS WHEN I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF MAKING A LEFT TURN AND I'M AFRAID I'M GOING TO GET HIT! IT MOSTLY HAPPENS WHEN IT'S RAINING OR A LOT OF MOISTURE IN THE AIR. IT PULLS AND HESITATES WHILE I'M DRIVING AS WELL. MY INSURANCE PAID FOR THE DAMAGE WHEN I HAD THE FIRE, BUT I'M NOW LEARNING THAT IT'S A BIG ISSUE WITH JEEPS. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS STARTING MY JEEP. EVERY TIME I HAVE THIS PROBLEM I TAKE IT TO DEALER TO FIND OUT IT IS THE SAME THING EVERYTIME. I'M TOLD IT IS THE IGNITION ACTUATOR SWITCH. THERE I'D A LITTLE PIN IN IT THAT IF YOU PUT YOUR KEY IN SLIGHTLY THE WRONG WAY YOU CAN BREAK ONE OF THOSE PINS. I HAVE HAD THIS FIXED AND THEN I HAVE NO PROBLEM STARTING MY JEEP FOR A WHILE. WELL THEN IT ALL HAPPENED AGAIN THE OTHER DAY. AGAIN IT WAS THE IGNITION ACTUATOR SWITCH. I HAVE READ A LOT OF PLACES AND MY DEALER HAS TOLD ME THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM IN THESE JEEPS. I REALLY FEEL THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS PRODUCT AND A BETTER REPLACEMENT SHOULD BE AVAILABLE. I'M SICK OF SPENDING $100 ON THIS PART EVERY YEAR OR TWO. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE THAT THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V252000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE, STRUCTURE); HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO DO THE REPAIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE ON MY LIBERTY. WENT INTO LOCAL SERVICE DEALER AS THEY STATED RECALL WAS DUE. DEALER THEN STATED THEY HAD NO PARTS, NO TECHNICAL DATA OR GUIDANCE ON THIS PARTICULAR RECALL. ADDITIONALLY, IF THIS VEHICLE SITS FOR OVER TWO DAYS WILL NOT START (BATTERY DIES). MULTIPLE BATTERIES INSTALLED, CHARGING SYSTEM, NO KNOWN ELECTRICAL SHORTS OR ERRANT COMPUTER CODES. CHRYSLER WILL NOT ADDRESS ISSUE BECAUSE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. *JS

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
JEEP WILL NOT START, DEALER CLAIMS IS A BROKEN STEEL PIECE IN THE IGNITION IN THE STEERING COLUMN. THE CAR HAS NOT HAD A ACCIDENT OR ANY OTHER DAMAGE. CONTACTED JEEP CORPORATE AND THEY REFUSE ANY HELP DUE TO MILEAGE AND AGE DEALER COST FOR REPAIR WILL BE APPROX $700.00 FOR USED. NEED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE STEERING COLUMN. A NEW ONE WILL BE APPROC $1300.00 AND THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE AND THEY HAVE NO ESTIMATED TIME OF GETTING NEW PART. THEY QUOTED IT COULD MONTHS. THIS WILL BE THIRD TIME IN LESS THAN 3 YEARS THE CAR IS IN THE DEALER FOR NOT STARTING. EACH TIME IT IS A DIFFERENT REPAIR. THE STEERING COLUMN IS NOT DAMAGED. *TR

DRIVING 2005 JEEP LIBERTY CRD (TURBO DIESEL) ON HIGHWAY AND ENGINE CUT OUT COMPLETELY WITHOUT ANY WARNING. ALL DASH LIGHTS FLASHED ON AND OFF, ASD LIGHT REMAIN ILLUMINATED. COASTED TO SHOULDER. ENGINE WOULD NOT START. TOWED TO DEALERSHIP, THEY REPLACED FUEL PUMP FUSE. CLAIMED THEY COULD FIND NO CAUSE FOR THE BLOWN FUSE. EXACTLY THE SAME ASD CUT OUT REPEATED OVER NEXT FOUR MONTHS, ONCE MORE AT HIGHWAY SPEED, ONCE IN PARKING LOT. DIFFERENT FUSES BLOWN AND REPLACED EACH TIME. FINALLY DEALER TRACED TO FRAYED WIRING IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT. TAPED WIRES, NO FURTHER ASD CUT OUTS. TECHNICIAN STATED HE WOULD NEVER DRIVE A LIBERTY OUTSIDE OF CITY AS WIRING HARNESS ROUTINELY FRAYS DUE TO TIGHT FIT OVER MENTAL BODY AND COMPONENTS IN ORIGINAL CONSTRUCTION. CLAIMED VERY COMMON AND VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND OR CORRECT AS MOST WIRING IS INACCESSIBLE BEHIND BODY PANELS. CLAIMS JEEP IS WELL AWARE, HE CLAIMS ENTIRE HARNESS SHOULD BE REPLACED WITH LONGER HARNESS AND THICKER INSULATION. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS CUT OUT IS INSTANTANEOUS AND OCCURS WITHOUT WARNING. *TR
