TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 80 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. UNEXPECTEDLY, THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW GLASS BEGAN TO FALL INSIDE THE DOOR PANEL. THE DRIVER IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER TO SECURE THE GLASS WITH A HEAVY DUTY ADHESIVE. THE AUTHORIZED DEALER STATED THAT THE WINDOW REGULATOR WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE AND WOULD COST $450 TO REPAIR. THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR SO THE CONTACT SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TO SECURE THE WINDOW GLASS IN THE INTERIM. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE UNAVAILABLE.
THE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED TO 65 MPH. NO AMOUNT OF PUSHING ON THE BRAKES MADE THE CAR STOP. SHE WAS GOING DOWN A MOUNTAIN, WHIZZED PAST A STOP SIGN, AND WENT AROUND ANOTHER CURVE UNTIL SHE CAME TO A MAJOR STATE ROAD WITH LOTS OF SPEEDING CARS. SHE HAD TO MAKE A DECISION EITHER TO TRY TO MERGE ONTO THE ROAD OR PLOW INTO THE MOUNTAIN. SHE PLOWED INTO THE MOUNTAIN AND CAME TO A STOP WHERE SHE HIT A STOP SIGN AT THE END OF THE ROAD INCHES FROM THE ONGOING TRAFFIC. BOTH OF HER FEET WERE ON THE BRAKES THE ENTIRE TIME. THE VEHICLE FLIPPED ON ITS SIDE AND THE ENGINE WAS STILL ROARING. *JB
LETTER FROM CONGRESSMAN BOUCHER ON BEHALF OF CONSTITUENT CONCERNING HIS PURCHASE OF A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. *NJ THE VEHICLE WAS SOLD BY THE CONSUMER TO ANOTHER CONSUMER WHO EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION AND SUBSEQUENTLY HAD AN ACCIDENT. THE CONSUMER STATED EVERYTHING WAS FINE UNTIL SHE TRIED TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN AT THE BOTTOM OF A STEEP HILL. THE CONSUMER REALIZED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SLOWING DOWN AND BARELY MADE THE TURN. EVEN AFTER THE CONSUMER REMOVED HER FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR, THE VEHICLE WAS STILL ACCELERATING. THE CONSUMER STATED SHE TRIED SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES, BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE VEHICLE FINALLY STOPPED WHEN THE CONSUMER HIT A STOP SIGN AND THEN PROCEEDED TO FLIP OVER ON THE RIGHT SIDE. THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO REV LOUDLY AND ONLY STOPPED AFTER THE CONSUMER TURNED THE IGNITION OFF. *JB

I PURCHASED 4 GOODYEAR TIRES IN OCT 2006,I HAVE A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY SPORT,I HAVE LESS THAN 15,000 MILES ON THESE TIRES,I WAS TOLD BY THE GOODYEAR STORE MANAGER THAT THESE TIRES ARE PREMATURELY WEARING, I ASK WHAT COULD BE DONE TO SATISFY THIS AND WAS TOLD IN A LETTER BY GOODYEAR THAT I WOULD HAVE TO BRING IN THE JEEP AND ALL 4 TIRES WOULD HAVE TO BE REMOVED FROM THE JEEP AND BE SENT TO GOODYEAR FOR FURTHER EVALUATION, I ASKED HOW AM I GOING TO GET MY JEEP HOME AND I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PURCHASE TIRES, I EXPLAINED THAT I AM A DISABLED VETERAN AND I COULDN'T AFFORD TO JUST PICK UP AND BUY 4 NEW TIRES, I AM ONLY ASKING FOR REPLACEMENT TIRES. *TR

2006 JEEP LIBERTY WINDOW FELL DOWN WITHOUT HAVING ANY REASON. I HAVE READ ON THIS WEBSITE THAT AN INVESTIGATION DOES NOT NEED A SPECIFIC NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS TO START. THE POWER WINDOWS IN MY 2006 JEEP LIBERTY HAVE A DESIGN DEFECT. THE ORIGINAL DESIGN INCLUDES A PLASTIC PART WHICH BREAKS AND ALLOWS THE WINDOW TO FALL DOWN INTO THE DOOR. MY DRIVER-SIDE PASSENGER WINDOW HAS BEEN HELD UP WITH TAPE FOR THE PAST 12 MONTHS. I RECENTLY HAD TO PAY $250 TO HAVE THE DRIVER'S-SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR REPLACED. RESEARCHING ONLINE I HAVE SEEN INCIDENTS WHERE OWNERS HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE SAME WINDOW REPLACED TWO OR THREE TIMES AT $300-$500 PER INCIDENT.MOPAR BODY SERVICE BULLETIN 23-008-09 AND 23-014-08 DETAIL THE ISSUE AND CHRYSLER'S CORRECTION. PLEASE LET ME KNOW ([XXX]) IF THIS IS SUBJECT TO A NHTSA SAFETY RECALL OR OF I SHOULD START A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT TO CORRECT THIS DEFECT. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WOULD WARM UP, THE VEHICLE MADE A CLINGING SOUND THAT APPEARED TO ORIGINATE FROM THE BLOWER. WITHIN THREE DAYS, THE SOUND WORSENED AND THE STEERING BECAME STIFF. THE VEHICLE WOULD VEER TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT AND WAS SEVERELY OUT OF ALIGNMENT. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT BOTH OF THE WHEEL BEARINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT IT WAS VERY UNCOMMON FOR BOTH WHEEL BEARINGS TO BECOME DEFECTIVE. IT WAS ASSUMED THAT THE WHEEL BEARINGS WERE ORIGINALLY DEFECTIVE. THE WHEEL BEARINGS WERE REPLACED BY THE DEALER, BUT SHE BELIEVES THAT A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 70,000.
UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION. WHILE AT A FULL STOP AT A RED LIGHT WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, THE ENGINE STARTED TO ACCELERATE AND THE CAR STARTED JUMPING AS THE REAR TIRES 'BURNED RUBBER'. PRESSING HARDER ON THE BRAKE DID NOT HELP. I PUT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL AND THEN THE ENGINE WENT BACK TO IDLE. THIS IS THE THIRD INSTANCE OF THIS IN 5 YEARS (THE FIRST WAS APPROXIMATELY 1/16/09 IN NYC, THEN AGAIN ON 2/6/12 IN NM, AND THEN THIS ONE ON 10/20/14 IN NY. THE FIRST TIME I WAS AT A BUSY CROSSWALK BY A SCHOOL. THERE COULD HAVE BEEN MANY INJURIES. UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION 2006 JEEP LIBERTY CRD. WHILE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, ENGINE IDLING, FOOT ON THE BRAKE, MY ENGINE STARTED TO WILDLY ACCELERATE. HELLO, I BOUGHT A 2006 JEEP CHEROKEE SPORT IN ROMANIA KJ / LE85 (THE LIBERTY 4X4 JEEP FOR EUROPE), FROM CASA AUTO ROMANIA: / 7 FEBRUARY 2007. MY TECHNICAL PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR, STILL IN WARRANTY (2 YEARS WARRANTY IN ROMANIA) ARE: -THE ESP/BAS WARNING LAMP COMES ON CONTINUOUSLY WITH ENGINE RUNNING, THE LIGHT REMAINS ON AT SPEEDS GREATER THAN 30MPS. DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW WENT OFF TRACK AND I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY FIXED IT. NOW THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR WINDOW FALLS DOWN FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE GAS TANK OVERFLOWS EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS FILLED UP. GAS STATION PUMPS DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY STOP WHEN FILLING THE TANK. THIS OCCURS EVERY TIME AND AT EVERY GAS STATION. THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR STARTING A FIRE. IT ALSO LEAKS FUEL INTO THE ENVIRONMENT. *TR
JEEP WINDOWS: JEEP CHANGED THE MOTOR/REGULATOR STYLE AND NOW YOU HAVE TO PURCHASE A NEW WINDOW TO GET YOUR ELECTRIC WINDOWS TO WORK. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THEY WILL NOT RECALL THE MOTORS OR REGULATORS. YOU CAN CALL ANY JEEP DEALER AND THEY WILL ADMIT THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THIS AND WANT THE CONSUMER TO PAY 1/2 THE COST FOR SOMETHING THAT THEY KNOW IS WRONG. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. WITHIN SIX MONTHS, THE WINDOW REGULATORS THAT POWER THE WINDOWS FAILED. FOUR DIFFERENT REGULATORS HAD TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, ALL OF THE WINDOWS ON THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. THE WARRANTY EXPIRES IN MARCH OF 2009 AND THE REGULATORS CONTINUE TO FAIL. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE REGULATORS FOR FREE DURING THE NEXT REPAIR AND THAT NO RECALL WAS AVAILABLE FOR THE WINDOWS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
2006 JEEP LIBERTY - GAS TANK FUELING ISSUE. WHEN FILLING THE VEHICLE WITH GASOLINE AT THE SERVICE STATION THE FUEL PUMP WILL NOT SHUT-OFF AND GASOLINE OVERFLOWS FROM TANK. MULTIPLE GAS STATIONS TRIED, PROBLEM EXISTS AT ALL FUEL PUMPS. POTENTIAL PERSONAL INJURY OR FIRE HAZARD WITH GASOLINE OVERFLOWING FROM TANK. JEEP CHYRSLER DEALERSHIP CANNOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM AFTER 5 VISITS TO DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGES PROBLEM AND HAS HAD JEEP CHYRSLER ENGINEERING HAS BEEN INVOLVED WITH NO RESOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. POTENTIAL PERSONAL INJURY OR FIRE HAZARD WITH GAS OVERFLOWING FROM TANK. FIRST REPORTED TO JEEP CHYRSLER IN DEC 2008 AND PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. DEALER HAS REPLACED GAS TANK 3 TIMES AND NEW GAS TANKS DO NOT FILL PROPERLY. JEEP CHRYSLER INDICATES THAT DESIGN CHANGE HAS OCCURRED ON REPLACEMENT TANKS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH 2006 VEHICLE. FAULTY GASOLINE TANK CURRENTLY INSTALLED ON VEHICLE. *TR
WANTED A SMOKE AND ROLLED DOWN THE REAR WINDOW A LITTLE BY MISTAKE. TRIED TO ROLL IT UP AND NOTHING. LOOK BACK AND THE WINDOW IS SITTING HALFWAY DOWN. PULLED OVER TO TRY AND GET THE WINDOW UP AND THE DOOR WONT OPEN. PIECE OF THE WINDOW ASSEMBLY IS INTERFERING WITH THE LOCK BECAUSE THE KIDS GOT IN THAT DOOR WHEN WE LEFT. DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. IT OPENS 1/2 INCH AND STICKS. *TR
WHEN CHANGING BRAKE PADS, I NOTICED A BUBBLE ON THE SIDE OF THE BRAKE LINE. ALL 4 BRAKE LINES WERE INVOLVED. THE BUBBLE WAS ON THE RUBBER PORTION OF THE LINE CLOSE TO THE CALIPER. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE LINES REPLACED. THEIR INSPECTION IDENTIFIED A FIFTH LINE WITH A RUPTURE ALSO. ALL WERE REPLACED. SINCE THIS IS A SAFETY COMPONENT I ASKED IF JEEP WAS REPLACING THE PARTS AND WAS INFORMED IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THEM OR MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. THIS VEHICLE IS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY AND HAD 48,870 MILES AT THE TIME. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY 4X4. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE CONTACT ACCIDENTALLY LOWERED THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW. SHE ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE THE WINDOW, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. SHE PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO PHYSICALLY PUSH THE WINDOW BACK UP; HOWEVER, THE WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN IN COLD WEATHER WITH THE WINDOW DOWN AND THE CONTACT'S TODDLER IN THE BACK SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A LOCAL MECHANIC AT HER RESIDENCE AND SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE REGULATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED HER TO CALL THE SENIOR DEPARTMENT, BUT SHE RECEIVED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 46,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,975.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, I TRIED TO OPERATE FRONT LEFT AND RIGHT REAR WINDOWS AND THEY WOULD NOT ROLL UP OR DOWN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND THEY REPAIRED BOTH. HOWEVER, SINCE THEN THERE HAVE BEEN 7 MORE INSTANCES ON ALL WINDOWS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY. CURRENTLY, THE BACK PASSENGER WINDOW IS NOT OPERATING AND THE DEALER REFUSES TO REPAIR IT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THIS IS A NEWLY OPENED DODGE, CHRYSLER, JEEP DEALER IN MY TOWN. THIS IS JUST ONE OF THE MANY PROBLEMS I HAVE EXPERIENCED WITH THIS JEEP LIBERTY, INCLUDING THE PCM IS CURRENTLY NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY MAKING THE VEHICLE IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE. AT MY WIT'S END WITH THIS VEHICLE.
LIKE MANY JEEP LIBERTY OWNERS, I TOO HAVE A REAR DRIVER'S WINDOW THAT IS TAPED UP TO PREVENT IT FROM FALLING DOWN INTO THE DOOR. MY MILEAGE AT THE TIME 32,000. ESTIMATED COST $280.00. *TR

IGNITION SWITCH BINDS UP INTERMITTENTLY ALSO SHIFTER AND STEERING WHEEL DO NOT LOCK UP AND CAN MOVE SHIFTER FROM PARK WITHOUT PUSHING BRAKE. ADJUSTED SHIFT CABLE BUT DID NOT SOLVE PROBLEM. FOUND THAT SHIFTER AND CABLE ASSEMBLY WERE WORN. REMOVED AND REPLACED SHIFT INTERLOCK CABLE AND GEAR SHIFT ASSEMBLY. TEST OPERATION OK. *TR
THIS IS MY THIRD COMPLAINT FOR THE SAME ON -GOING PROBLEM. THE ABS/BAS, ESP LAMP WILL COME ON WHEN GOING 45-50 MPH OR MEDIUM ACCELERATION. AT VARIOUS TIME THE ENGINE WILL LOSE POWER. JEEP LIBERTY HAS BEEN TAKEN BACK THREE TIMES TO DEALER. THEY SAID THEY ARE UNABLE TO DUPILCATE PROBLEM AS THE PROBLEM MUST NE ACTIVE. THE CODES ARE PRESENT, BUT NOT ACTIVE. I'VE WRITTEN CHRYSLER/JEEP WITH NOT HELP OR ASSISTANCE. VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE WINDOW MOTOR FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. TWO WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY, THE REAR LEFT WINDOW DROPPED AND COULD NOT BE ROLLED UP OR DOWN. IT WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. THE NEXT TIME IT WAS THE RIGHT REAR WINDOW AND IT COST $429.26. THREE WEEKS LATER THE REAR LEFT WINDOW DROPPED AGAIN. THIS TIME WE CONTACTED JEEP/CHRYSLER AND WERE TOLD THAT ALTHOUGH THE WARRANTY FOR THIS PROBLEM HAD BEEN EXTENDED FOR THE 2006 JEEP LIBERTY THAT MINE WAS NOT INCLUDED BECAUSE IT WAS BUILT IN OCTOBER/2005. THE AGENT SAID NOTHING COULD BE DONE AND THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE TO TALK TO - IT WAS A FINAL DECISION. I CALLED BACK AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PREVIOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT DIDN'T FOLLOW PROCEDURE AND WAS "STUNNED" AT THE WAY I WAS TREATED AND I WAS THEN ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER AND A CASE MANAGER. THERE HAVE NOW BEEN 14 PHONE CALLS AND NOTHING HAS BEEN RESOLVED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. SMALL CHILDREN RIDE IN THE BACK SEAT THAT COULD GET OUT OF SAFETY RESTRAINTS AND BE IN DANGER. THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE LOCKED UP AND SECURED AND IT'S SCARY TO HAVE TO GET INSIDE AN UNSECURED VEHICLE AT NIGHT. THE INTERIOR IS BEING DESTROYED BY CONSTANTLY BEING RAINED AND SNOWED UPON IN A REGION OF THE COUNTRY THAT HAS MORE COLD AND WET WEATHER THAN ANYTHING ELSE. JEEP REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, NO STANDARD POLICY BEING FOLLOWED BY JEEP TO GET THIS MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT FIXED, AND NO RECALL FOR A PROBLEM THAT HAPPENS OVER AND OVER AGAIN ON THE SAME VEHICLE. WHILE I WAS AWAY FROM MY JEEP, THE RIGHT REAR WINDOW ROLLED DOWN AND BROKE -- AGAIN. THAT WAS THE 6TH TIME THIS OCCURRED IN THIS VEHICLE TO THESE WINDOWS. WHEN I PARKED MY 2006 JEEP LIBERTY AND ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE KEY AND PULL IT OUT OF THE IGNITION, THE KEY WOULD NOT COME OUT. IT WOULD GO NO FURTHER THAN THE LOCK POSITION. IT APPEARS THAT THE SHIFTING CABLE THAT READS WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK AND ENABLES ONE TO REMOVE THE KEY HAD FAILED AND WAS NOT READING THAT MY CAR WAS ACTUALLY IN PARK. I HAD TO PRESS THE CABLE DOWN IN ORDER TO REMOVE MY KEY. I DID A GOOGLE SEARCH FOR THE PROBLEM AND IT APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THE 2004-2006 JEEP LIBERTY. NOW MY SHIFTER DOES NOT STOP BETWEEN GEARS, IT SIMPLY SLIDES THROUGH THEM WITHOUT HAVING TO PRESS THE BUTTON THAT WOULD NORMALLY LOCK THEM IN PLACE. I CAN SHIFT FROM REVERSE TO PARK WITHOUT PRESSING THE BREAK AND WITHOUT PUSHING THE BUTTON. IN ORDER TO PULL MY KEY OUT I HAVE TO TAKE THE COVER OFF AND PRESS DOWN ON THE CABLE. NOW THAT I NOTICED IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH OTHER JEEP LIBERTY'S, I THINK A RECALL IS IN ORDER. *TR
2006 JEEP LIBERTY WINDOW REGULATOR WENT BAD. ON AUGUST 20, 2008, I NOTICED THAT MY REAR DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW WAS DOWN A BIT. TRIED TO POWER IT UP, BUT IT WOULD GO. EVENTUALLY SLID DOWN INTO DOOR. I DID SOME INTERNET RESEARCH AND FOUND THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE THAT HAD TO HAVE REGULATORS REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY CRD. THE EGR FAILED AT 17K MILES. IT WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. IT FAILED AGAIN AT 52K MILES, I PAID FOR THAT REPLACEMENT. NOW THE ENGINE IS PLUGGED WITH CARBON FROM THE EGR SYSTEM. EACH TIME THERE IS A FAILURE OF THE EGR, IT WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE THE ENGINE TO SUDDENLY "LOOSE POWER" AND RUN AS IF IN A "LIMP" MODE EVEN THOUGHT THE OBD DIAGNOSTICS FAIL TO ACKNOWLEDGE SUCH. THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE THAT CHRYSLER WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE. IT CAUSES AIR POLLUTION AND A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE ABILITY TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE NORMALLY IS GREATLY HINDERED WITHOUT WARNING. CONSUMER IS ASKED TO PAY $2,300.00 FOR A TEMPORARY REPAIR FOR THE FACTORY'S POOR DESIGN. *TR

THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS COMMON FOR THIS YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL VEHICLE. AS OF MARCH 12, 2009, THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 65,000.

THERE IS A SLIGHT FUEL SYSTEM LEAK THAT ALLOWS AN AIR POCKET TO BUILD IN THE FUEL FILTER HOUSING. WHEN THIS AIR POCKET GETS DRAWN INTO THE INJECTOR PUMP, THE ENGINE BEGINS RUNNING BADLY, CAUSING IMMEDIATE LOSS OF POWER. THIS HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES, THE FIRST TIME THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, SO THERE WAS NO POINT IN RETURNING TO WASTE MY TIME AFTER THAT. I KNOW HOW TO TEMPORARILY FIX THE PROBLEM NOW THAT I HAVE READ SO MANY OTHER OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING, AS NOTED IN THE LOST INTERNET FORUM. I WAS ALONE AND THEN HAD TO REATTACH THE CAR SEAT TO THE BASE AND DRY OFF MY INFANT. I AM THANKFUL THAT NO ONE HIT US WHILE I WAS PARKED ON THE INTERSTATE IN A RAINSTORM WITH MY CHILD NOT BUCKLED IN TO THE CAR. I WAS IN A PANIC TRYING TO FIX THIS.
