Every time I pump gas it spits back out at me. No matter what I do. This is completely unacceptable and dangerous
I purchased the car on 10/07\2024, the dealer said there was a recall and I assumed it was for this issue: When I fill the tank it shoots fuel all over the place. Ive tried different gas stations but it doesn't help, it still shoots or spills fuel all over the place. I checked online and this seems to be a known problem caused by the ethanol in the fuel reacting with a check valve. HAVING FUEL SHOOT OUT AT YOU EVERY TIME YOU FILL THE CAR IS DANGEROUS!!!
FUEL TANK FILL TUBE SHUTOFF IS DEFECTIVE AND FUEL SPILLS OUT WHEN FILLING FUEL TANK.
GASTANK ALWAYS OVERFLOWS WHEN FILLING AT ANY GAS STATION.
EVERY TIME A FILL GAS THE CAR OVERFILLS AND LOTS OF GAS SPILLS OUT. THIS IS HAPPENING AT ALL DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS AND I HAVE SEEN OTHERS ONLINE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, MY CAR HAS ONLY 65K MILES. THIS IS FOR SURE A SAFETY ISSUE THAT MUST BE RECALLED, IT IS A HUGE FIRE HAZARD.

GASOLINE OVER FLOWS FROM FILL TUBE EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS FILLED WITH GASOLINE. THIS HAPPENS AT EVERY FILL UP AND EVERY STATION USED TO GET GAS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. LITHIA TOYOTA OF KLAMATH FALLS (2675 WASHBURN WAY, KLAMATH FALLS, OR 97603, (541) 205-4504) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
WHEN FILLING TANK GAS DOES NOT STOP AUTOMATICALLY, THERE IS A LOT OF GAS THAT OVERFLOWS DOWN SIDE OF CAR ONTO THE GROUND. DOESN'T MATTER SPEED OF FILLING THE TANK IT WILL OVERFLOW UNLESS MANUAL STOP OF FILLING PRIOR TO GAS TANK BEING FULL AND WILL SOMETIMES STILL OVERFLOW. THE VEHICLE IS OFF AND PARKED AT THE PUMP, DOESN'T MATTER WHAT GAS STATION IS USED THE ISSUE HAPPENS. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME FILLING UP WITH THE LAST TIME ON 5/12.
WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK, THE PUMP FAILS TO AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF DUE TO A FAULTY FUEL FILLER NECK. THE ENTIRE GAS TANK MUST BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE VALVE IS PART OF THE TANK AND CANNOT BE REPLACED SEPARATELY. THE FUEL SPILLAGE HAZARD CREATES RISK OF EXPLOSION AT THE GAS STATION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FINDLAY CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM POST FALLS (550 N ALBERTA ST, POST FALLS, ID 83854, (208) 457-1900) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK AND FUEL FILLER NECK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE FUEL SPILLS EVERYTIME THE VEHICLE IS FILLED ON FULL SPEED. *TR
GASOLINE WILL ALWAYS BLOW OUT OF THE FILLER WHEN FUELING. AT LEAST 1/4 CUP AND SOMETIMES A FULL CUP OF GASOLINE WILL BE EXPELLED AT EACH REFUELING. GASOLINE WILL BE SPRAYED ON HANDS, PANTS, SHOES, SIDE OF CAR AND ON THE GROUND. THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED OVER THE PAST YEAR.
WHEN FILLING CAR WITH GAS ON LEVELED SURFACES. THE CAR WILL BURP FUEL OUT THE FILLING NECK SPILLING OUT ON THE ROAD AND GRASS. SPOKE TO A LOCAL DODGE AND THEY SAID THEY HAD NO FIX FOR IT BUT IT IS AN ISSUE.
WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK, THERE IS ALMOST ALWAYS OVERFLOW THAT SPILLS OUT OF THE NOZZLE ONTO THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND ONTO THE PAVEMENT. I WOULD ESTIMATE THIS HAPPENS ABOUT 80% OF THE TIME I FILL UP.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY 2006. EVERY TIME I PUT FUEL IN IT, IT OVERFLOWS. IT IS NOT AUTOMATICALLY SHUTTING.OFF THEREFORE SPILLING OVER AND GETTING ALL OVER THE CAR OR ME. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I TRIED FILLING UP AT A FEW DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS AND IT IS THE SAMERTHNG. ON THE INTERNET IT IS SHOWING MANY PEOPLE HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT THIS WHY ISN'T THERE A RECALL? I AM AFRAID SOMEONE WILL THROW A CIGARETTE OUT THEIR WINDOW AND I WILL BLOW UP. I WIPE IT.UP EACH TIME.
WHEN FILLING THE TANK WITH FUEL, THE PUMP DOES NOT SHUT OFF, AND THE FUEL FILLER TUBE BELCHES FUEL ONTO THE SIDE OF THE TRUCK AND THE GROUND. THIS CAUSES A FIRE SAFETY ISSUE, THE FUEL DAMAGES PAINT AND PLASTICS ON THE VEHICLE, IT IS WASTEFUL, AND IS HAZARDOUS TO THE ENVIRONMENT.
