IN A RAIN WHEN THERE WAS SOME WIND, THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER FLOORS COLLECTED 3+ INCHES OF WATER. IT WAS PARKED. THE DRAINS ARE NEAR WIRES, WHICH IS UNSAFE. THIS WAS THE LIMITED VERSION..... SO FAR I FOUND THAT CHRYLSER IS FIXING 07-08 WRANGLERS WITH THIS PROBLEM.
SKY ROOF WAS REPLACED BECAUSE IT FELL OFF TRACK. IT IS NOW STARTING TO DO IT AGAIN AND DEALER IS REFUSING TO REPLACE IT UNDER A WARRANTY. SEALS ARE NOT TIGHT AND ALLOW AIR THROUGH TO THE TRACK. IT THEN STARTS TO LIFT AND FOLD WHEN GOING OVER 40 MPH. I AM AFRAID IT IS GOING TO FLY OFF THE TRACK COMPLETELY WHILE MOVING. THE CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN ALREADY TOLD ME THAT THE SKY ROOFS BREAK EASILY AND THAT IS WHY THEY DON'T MAKE THEM ANY MORE. THEY SHOULD ALL BE RECALLED IF ARE CONTINUING TO HAVE PROBLEMS AND THEY ARE NOT GOING TO REPLACE THEM.
I WAS DRIVING ON A MAIN HIGHWAY AND ALL LIGHTS STARTED TO FLASH. ALL NEEDLES STARTED TO JUMP AROUND AND THEN EVERYTHING WENT BLACK AND CAR DIED INCLUDING NO FLASHERS. BATTERY WAS REPLACED A MONTH BEFORE WITH YEARLY INSPECTION THE MONTH BEFORE AS WELL.
WHILE DRIVING ON X WAY AT 70 MPH HEARD NOISE AND SAW SECTION OF ROOF SLIDER LIFTING UP AND AIR GUSHING. SLOWED TO PULL OFF AND WHOLE PANEL LIFTED UP AND ALMOST BLEW OFF. STOPPED AND PANEL CRASHED DOWN WITH FRONT CORNER COMING INTO PASSENGER SIDE SEAT. FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS IN THE SEAT! WE TAPED THE PANEL DOWN TO NURSE IT HOME ON SIDE STREET AT UNDER 40 MPH. DEALER SAID WOULD COST MORE THAN $1000 TO FIX, PROBABLY MORE AND REPAIR WOULD NOT BE GUARANTEED. WE CANNOT AFFORD TO FIX. WE NEVER USED THE SLIDER IN THE PAST. INQUIRIES ON INTERNET REVEAL MANY SIMILAR INCIDENTS BY OTHER OWNERS AND THEIR ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR WITH ESTIMATES OVER $3000. DEFINITELY A SERIOUS ISSUE. COULD HAVE LOST CONTROL OF CAR IF NOT ALREADY STOPPING, PANEL COULD HAVE SEPARATED AND HIT OTHER CARS, PANEL COMING INTO CAR COULD HAVE INJURED DRIVER OR PASSENGER!
MY TIPM WENT OUT ON MY 2008 LIBERTY, A FEW WEEKS AGO, WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURNED ON BY THEMSELVES, HORN BLOWING BY ITS SELF, THE JEEP DOESN'T TURN OFF EVEN WHEN THE KEY ISN'T IN THE IGNITION, ALSO THE HAZARD LIGHTS TURN ON BY THEMSELVES. IT GOTTEN TO THE POINT THAT THE JEEP STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS MALFUNCTION THAT COST A LOT TO FIX AND IT ISN'T COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. CHRYSLER SHOULD HAVE RECALLED 2008 -2012 JEEP LIBERTIES ALSO.
ON MY JEEP LIBERTY KK I HAVE THE POWER SKYSLIDER. IT CONSTANTLY COMES OFF TRACK AND DOESN'T CLOSE SO WHEN I GET IN THE CAR AFTER IT RAINS EVERYTHING IS WET. IT HAS COME TO THAT IM AFRAID THAT WHEN I'M DRIVING AT HIGH WAY SPEEDS THAT THE ROOF WITH FLY OFF AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I DIDN'T DO ANTTHING TO CAUSE THIS ISSUE. IT IS A DESIGN FLAW BY JEEP AND I WANT THEM TO OWN UP TO IT AND PUT OUT A RECALL BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE AND IMPRACTICAL TO USE THE CAR AFTER IT RAINS.
MY 2008 JEEP LIBERTY 'SKY SLIDER' ROOF HAS FLOWN OFF THE TRACK WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY (WHILE MY CHILDREN WERE IN THE CAR!!) AND NOW DOES NOT SECURELY STAY CLOSED. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE.
MY ROOF SKY SLIDER HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED FROM THE TRACK THAT IT CONNECTS TO AND WILL NOT STAY ON THE ROOF WITHOUT MANUAL INTERVENTION. I CURRENTLY HAVE THE ROOF TAPED DOWN SO IT DOES NOT FLY OFF WHILE DRIVING. WITH THE SLIDER BEING DISCONNECTED, IT HAS CAUSED MANY LEAKS TO ALLOW WATER INTO THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE, DAMAGING THE ROOF, FLOORBOARDS, AND HAS GOTTEN INTO SOME OF THE ELECTRICAL AREAS SUCH AS OVERHEAD LIGHTS ABOVE FRONT DASH. INITIAL DISCONNECT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AND SKYSLIDER WAS CLOSED. IT STARTED TO OPEN UP IN THE FRONT RIGHT CORNER FROM WIND PRESSURE AND WITHOUT PUSHING THE BUTTON TO OPEN IT. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE PINS THAT KEEP THE SLIDER IN PLACE DISCONNECTED AND WILL NOT CONNECT BACK TOGETHER. CURRENTLY FRONT PASSENGER SIDE, REAR DRIVER SIDE, AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE ALL HAVE DISCONNECTED PINS AND THE SLIDER WILL NOT STAY ON THE ROOF WITHOUT INTERVENTION. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE. THIS IS VERY MUCH A SAFETY ISSUE AS IF I WERE TO REMOVE THE TAPE HOLDING THE ROOF DOWN, IT WOULD FLY OFF WHILE DRIVING, PUTTING MYSELF AND OTHERS IN DANGER. MECHANICAL MALFUNCTION (AND POOR MANUFACTURING IN MY OPINION) IS THE MAIN PROBLEM THAT HAS CAUSED THIS ISSUE. I HAD USED THE SLIDER LESS THAN 10 TIMES BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. I CONTACTED INSURANCE TO OPEN A CLAIM AND THEY SAID IT WOULD FALL UNDER MECHANICAL MALFUNCTION AND THAT WAS NOT COVERED IN MY COVERAGE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A SUN ROOF LEAK THAT PROGRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE TO DETERMINE A SOLUTION. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
ON 11/22/2017 I PARKED 5 SPACES FROM THE FRONT DOOR OF MEIJER ON E.MICHIGAN AVE IN JACKSON, MI. AS MY ESA ANIMAL REMAINED IN THE VEHICLE I LEFT THE CAR RUNNING AND HEAT ON LOW. I WAS IN THE STORE ABOUT 3 MINUTES. BY THE TIME I RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE I WAS INFORMED BY A BYSTANDER MY VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE AND HELP WAS ON THE WAY. I ASKED ABOUT MY DOG AND WAS TOLD NO ONE HAD SEEN HIM. I FRANTICALLY SEARCHED THE CAR FOR (NAGINI) MY DOG CAUSING 3RD DEGREE BURNS ON MY HANDS.I WAS ABLE TO RETRIEVE HIM FROM THE JEEP. HE WAS UNCONSCIOUS AND UNRESPONSIVE. I BEGAN CPR AND HE WAS RESUSCITATED. BUT SADLY NAGINI DIED FROM HIS INJURIES 2 DAYS LATER.
THE TRANSMISSION COOLER IS BUSTED BECAUSE THERE IS NO PROTECTION FOR IT AT ALL
CAR WON'T START. NONE OF THE ELECTRICAL WORKS. DEALER TELLS ME IT'S DEFECTIVE TIPM. IT'S VERY EXPENSIVE AND DANGEROUS. I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE PEOPLE ONLINE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE FOR THIS PROBLEM. WE WERE STATIONARY WHEN THE VEHICLE POWER STOPPED WORKING THANK GOD. BUT I SEEN ONLINE WHERE SOME PEOPLE HAD THE TIPM PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS.

TIPM CAR ALARM GOES OFF WIPERS GO FRONT AND BACK HORN BLARING WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID SQUIRTS OUT.
CAR HORN GOES OFF, LOCKS CONTINOUSLY LOCK AND UNLOCK, WINDSHIELD WIPERS GO OFF, WIPER FLUID SPRAYS OUT, LIGHTS BLINK OFF AND ON. ONLY WAY TO STOP IT IS TO UNHOOK THE BATTERY. TO GET THIS TO COMPLETELY STOP IS TO DO A HARD RESET OF THE FUSE BOX AND HOPE IT DOESN'T HAPPEN AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED 6 TIMES STARTING IN 2015. NEVER KNEW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS UNTIL I GOOGLED THIS. I PURCHASED THIS CAR BRAND NEW, IT DID HAPPEN AFTER THE FIRST 2 YEARS WHILE DRIVING BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A FLUKE UNTIL IT STARTED HAPPENING MORE AND MORE THEN NEVER STOPPED ON IT'S OWN. CAN'T BELIEVE THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE SUN ROOF SUDDENLY OPENED AND COLLAPSED IN HALF. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND MANUALLY PUSHED THE SUN ROOF BACK IN ORDER TO CONTINUE DRIVING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE SUNROOF WAS REPLACED BY DIFFERENT UNKNOWN DEALERS FOUR OTHER TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HUVAER CHRYSLER/JEEP/DODGE IN RICHMOND, MICHIGAN WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW SUN ROOF, WHICH WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE SUN ROOF FRACTURED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE PANORAMIC SUN ROOF SLID BACK AND FORTH, AFFECTING ITS PERFORMANCE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT OPENED THE PANORAMIC SUN ROOF TO SEE IF IT WOULD STABILIZE, BUT IT FAILED TO CLOSE PROPERLY AND THE WIND PUSHED IT OFF TRACK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (BAYSIDE JEEP AND CHRYSLER, QUEENS, NY, 718-229-8700), BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND THEY PROMISED TO TAKE ANOTHER LOOK AT THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING A TIPMS FAILURE CAUSING THE DOOR LOCKS TO NOT FUNCTION ALONG WITH SPORADIC EVENTS WHERE ALL THE GAUGES WILL GO DEAD, ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS WILL TURN ON, RADIO WON'T SHUT OFF, WIPERS TURN ON EVEN WHEN THEY ARE SET TO THE OFF POSITION. ALL OF THIS OCCURS WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. TURNING OFF THE VEHICLE FIXES EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE DOOR LOCKS FOR A RANDOM PERIOD OF TIME.
ELECTRICAL ISSUES IS OCCURING WITH MY 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. THERE HAS BEEN TIMES THE CAR DOES NOT START AT ALL. HAPPENS ANYTIME OF THE DAY. AFTER SEVERAL TRIES, IT STARTS. HAVE SWITCHED OU THE BATTERY AND CHECKED THE STARTER/ALTERNATOR. SOMETIMES THE INSIDE LIGHTS TURN ON BY THEMSELVES. HAS STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RODE. HARD TO MANEVUER.
THE SKYSLIDER ROOF IS UNHINGED, IT FLIPS OPEN WHEN DRIVING AS LOW AS 25MPH. THE ROOF DOES NOT CLOSE PROPERLY. IT HAD BEEN REPLACED BY THE FIRST OWNER. BUGS AND WATER COME INTO THE VEHICLE. IT IS CURRENTLY BEING HELD DOWN WITH 2X4S AND BUNGEE CORDS.
THE FRONT AXLES OF THE JEEP ARE EXTREMELY HEAVILY CORRODED BEYOND ANYTHING I'VE EVER SEEN. THE STEEL IS EASILY REMOVED BY HAND AND THE AXLE NUT IS NO LONGER PRESENT. THIS AFFECTS BOTH SIDES BUT NO OTHER STEEL PARTS APPEAR TO HAVE THE SAME CORROSION ISSUE. THE AXLES ARE THE ORIGINAL JEEP PARTS FROM THE FACTORY. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THE ISSUE WAS DISCOVERED.
VARIOUS ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS WOULD SPONTANEOUSLY TURN ON WHILE DRIVING OR PARKED. MY WIPERS (FRONT AND BACK) WOULD TURN ON FULL SPEED, MY HORN WOULD BLAST, LIGHTS WOULD DIM. EVEN WHEN I TURN THE CAR OFF, THESE SYSTEMS STAY ON. WHEN I OPEN THE DRIVERS DOOR, THE WIPERS WOULD OCCASIONALLY MOVE 1-2 INCHES.
AIRBAG LIGHT RANDOMLY COMES ON WHILE DRIVING AND THE DEALER QUOTED ME $400 TO REPAIR. I HAVE A 3 AND 5 YEAR OLD. I AM CONCERNED THAT IF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY WHILE DRIVING WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR, OUR LIVES WOULD BE IN DANGER. THIS COST IS ALSO NOT MONEY THAT I HAVE JUST SITTING AROUND IN A BANK ACCOUNT.
IT STARTS BUT DOESN'T CRANK, WARNING LIGHTS AND CODES FLASH, ABS SHUTS DOWN WHEN STOPPING AT A STOP LIGHT,LOSE OF POWER WHILE DRIVING, SKIPPING STATIONARY AND IN MOTIONEAS AND BAS PLUS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, I HAVE TO SHUT OFF ALL ELECTRICAL BUTTONS FOR CAR TO START, OVER HEATS ONLY WHEN IDLE, REPLACED ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY AND STILL AND STARTS AND WON'T CRANK,
THE REAR BRAKE LINES ARE MOUNTED IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY RUB AGAINST THE FUEL LINES AS WELL AS THE TRANSMISSION COOLER LINE. THIS CAUSED THE BREAK LINE TO LEAK AND THE BRAKES TO BECOME NON FUNCTIONAL. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO NOTICE THIS BEFORE A CRASH. MY WIFE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SO LUCKY AS SHE MAY HAVE NOT NOTICED THIS. I HAD THIS HAPPEN AS I WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC, AND CONSIDER MYSELF FORTUNATE THAT I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD.
TL* THE CONTACT'S MOTHER OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE THE CONTACT'S MOTHER WAS DRIVING 60 MPH, THE SKY SLIDER ROOF OPENED INDEPENDENTLY AND CAME OFF TRACK. THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO CLOSE THE SKY SLIDER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.

THE SKY-SLIDER LITERALLY FLEW OFF MY CAR ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY ONE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN THE CAR WHILE IT WAS RAINING DOWN! MY POOR BABY.
THE SKYSLIDER FEATURE ON THE 2008-2012 JEEP LIBERTYS ARE A MONUMENTAL SAFETY HAZARD. I PURCHASED MY 2008 JEEP LIBERTY ON MARCH 15TH 2017. WITHIN 2 WEEKS AFTER BUYING THE SKYSLIDERS PINS BROKE AND THE SKYSLIDER FLEW BACK COVERING MY BACK WINDOW. IF I HAD NOT PULLED OVER THE SLIDER COULD HAVE COMPLETELY DETACHED AND CAUSED A MAJOR MULTI-VEHICLE COLLISION. I DISCOVERED THAT THE PINS WEAR EASILY BROKEN BECAUSE THEY ARE MADE OF PLASTIC. I AM APPALLED THAT THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A RECALL AND THE MANUFACTURER REFUSES TO CORRECT THIS, ESPECIALLY AFTER READING COUNTLESS FORUMS OF THOSE WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE.
HAD 4 NEW GOODYEAR WRANGLER SRA TIRES INSTALLED BY SAM'S CLUB ON 5/3/2014.BOUGHT LIFETIME ROTATION/BALANCE PACKAGE AT THAT TIME. HAVE TIRES ROTATED/BALANCED ROUTINELY. ALIGNMENT GOES OUT EACH TIME AND STEERING WHEEL ALSO ENDS UP OUT OF THE PROPER POSITION. ALIGNMENT IS COMPLETED BY A SPECIALTY SHOP. THE SHOP TELLS ME I HAVE AT LEAST ONE OR MORE DEFECTIVE TIRES. INFORMED SAM'S CLUB OF ISSUE ON 4/10/2015 DURING THE ROTATION/BALANCE. HAD ALIGNMENT DONE THE PREVIOUS DAY. SAM'S CLUB DENIED ANY ISSUE WITH THESE TIRES AND WOULD NOT FOLLOW UP ON IT. HAVE LEARNED TO ROTATE/BALANCE FIRST, THEN DO ALIGNMENT. CERTAINLY WILL NOT PURCHASE GOODYEAR AGAIN!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE HORN AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS CONTINUED TO OPERATE INDEPENDENTLY. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID CONTINUED TO SPEW OUT AND FAILED TO SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION GOING ABOUT 40 MILES PER HOUR WHEN THE SKY SLIDER ROOF ALMOST CAME OFF. IT STARTED FLAPPING VERY BAD. I HAD IT FIXED AND IT IS BROKEN AGAIN.
FUEL SYSTEM, AFTER FILLING TANK WITH GAS VEHICLE STALLS AFTER DRIVING AWAY FROM PUMP. VEHICLE STALLS IN TRAFFIC, AT LIGHT AND IN INTERSECTIONS AFTER FILLING UP. MY INCIDENTS HAVE BEEN MANY ONE TIME WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC FROM GAS STATION, AT A RED LIGHT AND HAS STALLED RIGHT IN MIDDLE OF INTERSECTION WITH TRAFFIC. UNKNOWN THE PROBLEM BUT VEHICLE IS HESITANT TO RESTART AFTER THE SHUT DOWN FOR APPROXINATELY 1 MINUTE. *TR

IT WAS NOTICED THAT THE TRANSFER HEAT SHIELD DETACHED AND RUBBED AGAINST THE DRIVESHAFT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. MY LIGHT TO AIR BACK IS ON ALL TIME I NEVER DO ANY RECALL BY MANUFACTURING ALSO BY TEST IN THE SCANNER SHOW THE ABS NEED TO REPLACED

THE FUEL TANK SUPPORT RUSTS OUT FROM THE INSIDE TO A POINT THAT IT SEEMS VERY UNLIKELY IT WOULD BE STRUCTURALLY SOUND IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. IT IS VERY CONCERNING THAT THIS WOULD NOT PUNCTURE THE TANK AND BE A CAUSE OF FIRE INSTEAD OF PROTECTING THE TANK AS IT IS MARKETED TO DO. THERE HAS BEEN NO INCIDENT YET, BUT AFTER AN ACCIDENT WOULD NOT BE THE TIME TO FIND OUT. CHRYSLER HAS REVIEWED THIS AND WILL NOT TAKE ACTION.
AMONGST OTHER ISSUES: VEHICLE FAILS TO START OCCASIONALLY, FROM BOTH COLD AND WARM STATES. FROM COMPLETELY OFF, TURNING THE KEY BEGINS IGNITION BUT OFTEN DOES NOT START THE VEHICLE. ENGINE SPUTTERS BUT DOES NOT COMPLETE THE START. ON SOME OCCASIONS, DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL WHILE TRYING TO START THE VEHICLE WORKS, LEADING ME TO BELIEVE THIS IS ONE OF THE WIDELY REPORTED TIPM ISSUES PLAGUING JEEPS FROM 2007-2014. I CONCLUDE THE FUEL PUMP FAILS TO RECEIVE A SIGNAL TO START FROM THE TIPM WHICH CAUSES THE IGNITION FAILURE. IN ADDITION, I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL ISSUES INCLUDING DOORS LOCKING AND UNLOCKING WHEN THE OPPOSITE CORRESPONDING BUTTONS ARE PRESSED, WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURNING ON WHEN THE TURN SIGNAL IS USED, WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD REPORTING NON-ISSUES, FAILURE OF POWER STEERING, AND FAILURE TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS DEPRESSED. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
HEATER STOPPED WORKING AND PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR IS SOAKED.
MY CAR HAS BEEN HONKING AND ALL THE WINDOW WIPERS GO OFF SPORADICALLY WHEN DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY, IN STANDSTILL TRAFFIC AND STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. IT HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 4 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS. IT IS NOT ONLY EMBARRASSING BUT IT MAKES US NERVOUS THAT THE ISSUE COULD GET WORSE AND LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT IN THE FUTURE. WE TOOK IT TO PEP BOYS AND WERE TOLD THEY CAN'T DIAGNOSE IT. I THEN CONTACTED CRYSLER AND THEY JUST TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP. I DID AND THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT BUT SENT US A QUOTE FOR $3500 WORTH OF OTHER STUFF WE DON'T NEED FIXED! MY HUSBAND JUST PICKED UP THE CAR AND IT HONKED/WINDOW WIPERED 3 TIMES IN A 15 MINUTE RIDE HOME. WE ARE EXPECTING OUR FIRST BABY ANY DAY NOW AND ARE VERY NERVOUS ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE CAR. NO ONE IS WILLING TO HELP AT THIS POINT.
INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. WHEN STARTING CAR, WIPERS COME ON AND TURN SIGNALS FAIL TO WORK. THE ONLY WAY TO GET WIPERS TO STOP IS TO PULL THE FUSE. TURN SIGNALS REMAIN INOPERABLE. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR OVER 2 YEARS. HAVE TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES. DEALER CLAIMS THEY CANNOT LOCATE A PROBLEM; HOWEVER, THERE CLEARLY IS A PROBLEM. DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING CAR WITH WIPERS GOING AND NO TURN SIGNALS. WE HAVE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAINING ON. VERY DISTRACTING TO DRIVER AT NIGHT. AGAIN, TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER AND THEY CANNOT FIND A PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP ISSUE OCCURS WHILE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. WE DRIVE CITY AND HIGHWAY STREETS.
THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES, MOST RECENTLY ON SEPT. 5, 2016. THE CAR HONKS MULTIPLE TIMES AND ALL THE WINDOW WIPERS START GOING. THIS HAS OCCURED WHILE IN STAND STILL TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY, ON CITY STREETS AND WHEN STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT.

STARTED CAR, STOPPED AT LIGHT, MADE A TURN. HORN STARTED BLARING, FRONT AND REAR WIPERS WENT ON WITH SPRAY IN REAR, DASHBOARD LIGHTS WENT CRAZY. PULLED INTO "GREASE MONKEY" PUT IT IN PARK, WOULDN'T TURN OFF, TOOK OUT KEY, STILL RUNNING. GREASE MONKEY EMPLOYEE REMOVED FUSE TO STOP HORN, BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WAS STILL GOING, EVEN AFTER DISCONNECTING BATTERY. AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES (WHILE WAITING FOR AAA), ENGINE STARTING SMOKING. NOT SURE WHAT HE DID, BUT EMPLOYEE FINALLY GOT IT TO TURN OFF. THERE WAS ALSO SOMETHING DRIPPING UNDER THE CAR. AAA TOWED IT TO THE CLOSEST AAA-APPROVED MECHANIC. DIAGNOSIS: TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED TO THE TUNE O $1400.00. I FEEL THIS DEFINITELY CREATED AN UNSAFE CONDITION, ESPECIALLY IF IT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY WHERE I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD IMMEDIATE HELP. WHO KNOWS WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED -- AN ACCIDENT, A FIRE?? SINCE IT IS A HOLIDAY WEEKEND AND THE PART HAD TO BE ORDERED, MY CAR WON'T BE WORKED ON UNTIL TUESDAY, 9/6; THEREFORE, I DO NOT HAVE AN INVOICE YET.
I'VE HAD MY JEEP FOR 2.5 YEARS NOW. WHEN I FIRST GOT IT, EVERYTHING WAS FINE AND IT WAS INSPECTED PRIOR TO PURCHASE. FOR THE PAST YEAR, THE AIRBAG LIGHT WILL COME ON AND OFF ON ITS OWN. AT FIRST IT WAS INTERMITTENT, BUT FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS, IT IS CONSTANTLY ON WHEN THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING. IN ADDITION, ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO, WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 25 MPH ON A DARK, WINDING ROAD, THE HORN STARTED SOUNDING AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS BEGAN RUNNING AT FULL SPEED. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURNED IT OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN, AND IT STOPPED. THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED AGAIN SINCE.
RETRACTABLE ROOF BROKE WHILE DRIVING AND ALMOST FLEW OFF INTO TRAFFIC. LUCKILY THERE WAS A PASSENGER WHO WAS ABLE TO GRAP IT BEFORE IT FLEW OFF INTO TRAFFIC. A VERY BAD SAFETY ISSUE, COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. TO HAVE IT REPAIRED IT IS $600. WE DID NOT HAVE IT REPAIRED. THEY WERE ABLE TO CLOSE THE ROOF AND DISCONNECT IT. I CALLED JEEP AND THEY WERE NOT VERY NICE AND ARE NOT WILLING TO HELP PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED. IF YOU LOOK IT UP ON THE INTERNET MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. WHY WASN'T IT RECALLED.
SEVERE RUSTING OF ALL SUSPENSION COMPONENTS. RF AND LF CV JOINTS RUSTED BEYOND REPAIR. FRONT BRAKE ROTORS BEYOND REPAIR. JEEP DEALERS SAID VEHICLE HAS SEVERE RUSTING AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE. WAS TOLD MAY NOT BE WORTH REPAIRING. MOST JEEP LIBERTIES ARE COVERED UNDER A RECALL EXCEPT 2008. DEALER SAID REPAIRS WOULD BE IN THE THOUSANDS.
AIR BAG SENSOR HARNESS UNDER SEAT IS EXPOSED AND PRONE TO BREAK WHEN REAR SEATED PASSENGER(S) ARE IN VEHICLE. I HAVE REPLACED THE WIRING CONNECTORS/WIRING HARNESS 3 TIMES. ONE ON DRIVERS SIDE AND TWICE ON PASSENGER SIDE. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE ROAD WHILE MOVING. IF CRUISE CONTROL IS ON IT WILL STOP FUNCTIONING UNTIL THE CAR HAS BEEN SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED.
WHILE DRIVING ON JUNE 30, 2016; THE JEEP GOES INTO PANIC MODE, LIGHTS FLASHING, WINDSHIELD WIPERS WORKING, DOOR LOCKS LOCKING AND UNLOCKING, AND HORN SOUNDING AUTOMATICALLY. VEHICLE IS NOT DISARMING. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME SINCE FEB 2015. PROBLEM WAS TOLD TO BE CAR BATTERY. BATTERY REPLACED. REMOTE BATTERY WORKS FINE, THIS IS DANGEROUS AND THE PROBLEM KEEPS GETTING REPORTED WITH NO ACTION TAKEN BY JEEP-CHRYSLER FOR RECALL.
