The rear undercarriage is rusted through and mount by rear differential mount has broken off causing shaking, vibrating and possible differential leakage.
Filled gasoline up and had car idle while driving. Had to place car in park, turn ignition off and back on to get it to turn back on. This happened two times and happens everytime I fill up gas in car. Other Patriots have reported same issue and I have been very close to accidents due to this.
THE JEEP COMMONLY CHOKES AND DIES RIGHT AFTER A FILL-UP. AFTER 30 SECONDS TO A MINUTE, THE PROBLEM DISAPPEARS. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR AT LEAST 10 YEARS. ONLINE DATA SEARCH APPEARS TO INDICATE THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH JEEPS. HAVING YOUR CAR DIE IN TRAFFIC CREATES A DANGEROUS SITUATION.
EVERY TIME I FILL UP THE CAR, ONCE A WEEK, I AM BARELY OUT OF THE GAS STATION AND BAM! CAR SHUTS OFF. OR AS I AM DRIVING IT STALLS, SOMETIMES IT GOES AND SOMETIMES IT JUST SHUTS OFF. I'VE CARS ALMOST REAR END ME BECAUSE IT SO SUDDEN. SOMETIMES I JUST TURN ON THE CAR AFTER GAS JUST TO WAIT FOR IT TO SHUT DOWN SO I DON'T KILL MYSELF IN TRAFFIC. TOOK THE CAR TO A MECHANIC PAID 800 BUCKS AND IT STILL HAPPENS. THEY REPLACED THE FULL INJECTOR AND SOME OTHER STUFF THAT I DON'T KNOW. THEY PULLED THE GAS TANK OUT TO DO WHATEVER IT WAS. THE ENTIRE CAR SMELLED LIKE GAS FOR WEEKS. WHY CAN'T SOMETHING BE DONE. LOOKS LIKE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE. EVERY ONES COMPLAINTS MATCHES MINE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A YEAR.
VEHICLE HAS HAD STALLING ISSUES FOLLOWING REFUELING FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW. ASIDE FROM AFTER REFUELING THE STALLING IS UNPREDICTABLE AS FOR TIMING. SOMETIMES IT STALLS IMMEDIATELY AFTER REFUELING AND STARTING THE ENGINE, OTHER TIMES IT WILL STALL AFTER I'M ALREADY IN TRAFFIC SEVERAL MINUTES LATER. THIS CREATES A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD.
AFTER GETTING GAS. VEHICLE STALLS WHILE RUNNING IN DRIVE WITHOUT WARNING . THIS IS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC!! IT TAKES ABOUT 3 STARTUPS AND STALLS THAN THERE IS NO ISSUE UNTIL NEXT GAS FILL UP:
AFTER FILLING UP AT THE GAS STATION, STARTED TOO DRIVE AND AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE CAR SPUTTERED AND STALLED. STARTED CAR AGAIN AND THE STALLING HAPPENED AGAIN.. AFTER THESE 2 INCIDENTS THE CAR WAS FINE UNTIL NEXT FILL UP. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A FEW YEARS.
AFTER FILLING UP WITH GAS TWICE NOW IT STALLS RIGHT AFTER I FILL UP THE GAS TANK. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS AND I'VE BEEN STALLED IN AN INTERSECTION THAT IS NOT SAFE. I JUST PURCHASED THIS USED A FEW WEEKS AGO AND WAS NOT AWARE OF THE PROBLEM OR I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED IT. IT'S A FUEL TANK ROLLOVER VALVE AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED YEARS AGO. THE ENTIRE FUEL TANK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WHICH IS AN EXPENSIVE JOB. SHOULD BE RECALLED SO PEOPLE CAN GET IT FIXED BY DEALER AT THE DEALER COST. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT HAPPENS WITH NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR IT IS A MANUFACTURES DEFECT. WHY WASN'T THIS RECALLED YEARS AGO.

EVERY TIME I FILL UP MY 2007 JEEP PATRIOT WITH FUEL WHEN I DRIVE OFF INTO THE CITY STREETS IT TURNS OFF ON ME AND EVERYTHING LOCKS UP IN TRAFFIC WHILE I'M IN MOTION ALMOST CAUSING A ACCIDENT EVERY TIME AND THAT'S ONCE A WEEK CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME BEFORE I GET KILLED OR SOMEONE ELSE GETS KILLED.
WHEN I GAS UP BELOW A QUARTER OF A TANK MY JEEP STALLS OUT AND STEERING LOCKS UP COMPLETELY IN THE SPAN OF A SECOND SO I HAVE NO TIME TO MOVE OVER. IF I GAS UP AT AROUND A QUARTER OR ABOVE IT LURCHES REALLY BAD SEVERAL TIMES FOR NEXT FEW MINUTES THEN RUNS FINE UNTIL GASSING UP AGAIN THEN REPEAT. I WAS ALMOST IN AN ACCIDENT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED NOW I HAVE TO DRIVE FIFTEEN MINUTES AWAY TO GAS UP AND DRIVE THE BACK ROADS TO LET IT RUN IT'S COURSE SO IF I STALL I WON'T GET KILLED. IT IT SUPPOSEDLY THE VALVE ON TOP OF THE GAS TANK RESULTING IN THE WHOLE THING NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THIS HAS ALMOST GOTTEN ME KILLED AS WELL AS MANY OTHERS WHO I'VE SEEN DISCUSSING THE ISSUE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AND GET THIS RECALLED!

THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE NOW IN 3 DAYS. AFTER FULLY FILLING MY FUEL TANK AND THEN DRIVING AWAY FROM THE PUMP MY JEEP PATRIOT STALLS BEFORE I HIT 3/10 OF A MILE FROM THE GAS STATION. CONTRARY TO SOME OTHER REPORTS OF THIS ISSUE, THAT I HAVE READ, AS WELL AS THE EXPLANATION OF THE ISSUE POSTED ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE, FROM FCA, THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN ONLY AT IDLE. RATHER IT HAPPENS WHILE I AM DRIVING. WHEN MY JEEP STALLS I ALSO LOSE THE ABILITY TO FULLY STEER (CAN ONLY TURN THE WHEEL APPX 1/4 TURN) AND BRAKING DOES NOT WORK AS WELL AS IT NORMALLY DOES. WHEN IT HAPPENED TODAY I ENDED UP MOUNTING A CURB AND SIDEWALK IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA. THE STREET I WAS ON WAS TURNING BUT I COULDN'T TURN WITH IT. IF I HAD NOT ENGAGED THE EMERGENCY/PARKING BRAKE I WOULD HAVE DRIVEN THROUGH A CHAIN LINK FENCE AND INTO A HOME. ONCE I RESTARTED MY JEEP AND BACKED OFF OF THE CURB THE ENGINE STALLED AGAIN WHILE MY JEEP WAS IN MOTION. LUCKILY I WAS BARELY MOVING AND ALREADY HAD MY HAND ON THE EMERGENCY/PARKING BRAKE. WHEN I RESTARTED MY JEEP THE NEXT TIME I REVVED THE ENGINE TO 3,000RPM FOR APPX 1 MINUTE WHILE MY JEEP WAS IN PARK. MY JEEP DID NOT STALL AFTER THAT FOR THE REST OF TODAY. TOMORROW MAY BE ANOTHER STORY. I SEE IN THIS FORM THERE IS THE ABILITY TO UPLOAD PHOTOS BUT I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS BEING AN EXISTING SAFETY ISSUE OR THE ABILITY TO REPORT IT BEFORE NOW. AS A RESULT THERE ARE NO PHOTOS OF MY JEEP ON A CURB ABOUT TO CRASH INTO SOMEONE'S HOUSE. WITH THE NUMBER OF REPORTS OF THIS ISSUE HAVING ALREADY BEEN MADE TO THE NHTSA I AM SHOCKED THAT A MANDATORY SAFETY RECALL WAS NOT DEMANDED.
EVERY TIME I FILL UP WITH GAS THE CAR MAKES IT TO THE FIRST STOP SIGN AND THEN JUST DIES. I START IT UP AND START TO DRIVE IT AND IT DIES AGAIN. I HAVE TO SIT IN ONE SPOT AND KEEP TRYING TO DRIVE HOPING IT WON'T DIE AND I WILL GET HIT.
THE SUBFRAME IS RUSTED OUT
AFTER FUELING I WILL LEAVE THE GAS STATION AND MY PATRIOT WILL SPUTTER AND OFTEN DIE WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE AND HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE REPORTS OF THIS SAME PROBLEM. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I FILL MY PATRIOT UP WITH FUEL.
SUNROOF LEAKS DURING/AFTER HEAVY RAIN, PUTTING CAR THROUGH CARWASH. WATER PUDDLES ON FLOOR WELL OF DRIVERS SEAT AND FLOOR WELL OF PASSENGER BEHIND DRIVERS SEAT. ISSUE STARTED IN 2009. LEAKS HAPPEN WHILE IN MOTION OR STANDING STILL.
CAR WILL STALL AFTER FILLING UP GAS TANK, AND THERE IS A LOSS TO ALL THE DRIVING COMPONENTS. NO BRAKES, NO STEERING, NO POWER. VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO MULTIPLE MECHANICS AND THEY SAY IT IS SOMETHING IN THE GAS TANK, AND THE ONLY WAY TO REPLACE IT IS TO REPLACE IT IS TO BUY A NEW GAS TANK. THERE ARE MULTIPLE FORUMS WITH THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. PLEASE ISSUE RECALL THIS IS NOT SAFE.
WHEN I FILL THE GAS TANK ALL THE WAY THE CAR WILL GO ABOUT 25 FEET AND START TO STALL AND SHUTOFF LOCKING THE STEERING WHEEL AND I HAVE NO CONTROL OF THE CAR. TRANSMISSION AND AXLE SHAFT AREA MAKES A WHINING NOISE AS IF GEARS ARE FAILING. THE PREVIOUS OWNER DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS CAUSINGTHIS SO I DO NOT KNOW WHEN THE PRONLEM ACTUALLY STARTED! I HAVE ALSO NOTICED ON NEWER JEEP PATRIOTS THE YEAR 2015 THE REAR PASSENGER SIDES ABS/WHEEL SPEED SENSOR GOES OUT AS WELL AS WHEEL BEARING FAILURE WHICH STARTED AT 30,000 MILES. PLEASE FIX THESE PROBLEMS IT SEEMS LIKE THSES WHERE NOT MADE WELL FOR THE 44 FEATURE AS YOU DISPLAY IT TO BE CAPABLE OF. PLEASE FIX THESE PROBLEMS! THANK YOU! MY 2007 MAKES POPPING NOISES DURING RIGHT TURNS THE WHOLE UNDERCARRIAGE HAS BEEN REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS!
2007 JEEP PATRIOT LIMITED 4X4 CVT. EVERY TIME THE GAS TANK IS FILLED UP, THE CAR STALLS, BUCKS, AND/OR HESITATES. AFTER FILL UP, ABOUT A MILE OR LESS DRIVING OUT OF THE GAS STATION THE CAR WILL BUCK AND EVENTUALLY COMPLETELY STALL LOSING POWER STEERING. THIS JEEP HAD 122,000 MILES ON IT, BUT THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED FOR EVERY FILL UP SINCE AROUND 95,000. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS THE CAR HAS STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS OR IN THE MIDDLE OF A LANE. THIS SOUNDS LIKE THE SAME PROBLEM THAT IS MENTIONED ON HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF ONLINE FORUMS. I'VE HAD THE PCV VALVE, CHARCOL CANISTER, GAS CAP AND 5 OR MORE EVAP/EMISSION PARTS REPLACED WITH GENUINE MOPAR PARTS AND NONE OF THESE REPLACEMENTS FIXED THE PROBLEM. THIS HAPPENS AT ANY DIFFERENT GAS STATION, DIFFERENT BRANDS AND DIFFERENT LOCATIONS AS WELL. THE JEEP STALLING AFTER FILL UP IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND PUTS ME AT RISK OF HARM EVERY TIME I LEFT A GAS STATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP PATRIOT 4X4. WHILE DRIVING THROUGH A PARKING LOT, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD POPPING SOUND FROM THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE AND SAW A PIECE OF THE REAR CROSS MEMBER FRAME THAT WAS FRACTURED AND DETACHED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CROSS MEMBER FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT CALLED CUMBERLAND CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM AT 931-263-0321 (LOCATED AT 1550 INTERSTATE DR, COOKEVILLE, TN 38501) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL, AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 160,000.
FUEL PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEMS. MY SON FILLS UP HIS 2007 JEEP PATRIOT. I SEE FROM MANY POST ON FORMS THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM. WHY IS CHRYSLER NOT FACEING THIS PROBLEM. YOU FILL THE JEEP UP AND THE THE CAR STALLS OUT AND WILL STOP DEAD IN TRAFFIC THIS IS SO DANGEROUS. WHAT'S BEING DONE ABOUT THIS WHY IS THE GOVERNMENT NOT HOLD CHRYSLER RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS. WE HAVE TRIED TO DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS AND NOW ARE BEING TOLD THAT IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE.

THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THE PAST YEAR.
CAR STALLS AFTER FILLING UP TANK. STARTED DOING THIS 3 FILL UPS AGO. DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS. GAS TANK IS NOT "TOPPED OFF". STALLING OCCURS FOR THE NEXT FEW MILES OR 10 MINUTES OF USE. CAR IS FINE AFTER THAT. STALLING OCCURS WHEN RPM IS UNDER 1000 AND DOES THIS WHEN STOPPED OR SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE A TURN. ADDED "HEET" TO TANK, THINKING WATER MAY HAVE GOTTEN IN THERE FROM THE GAS STATION. RULED THAT OUT AFTER USING A DIFFERENT GAS STATION. CAR HAS 130,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE OWNED IT SINCE IT HAD 30,000 MILES ON IT.

ONLY HAPPENS WHEN FILLING THE VEHICLE, PUTTING IN FUEL TO LESS THAN FULL DOES NOT CAUSE THE PROBLEM. ACCORDING TO MY MECHANIC, THE PROBLEM MAY THE ROLL OVER VALVE ALLOWING FUEL INTO THE CHARCOAL CANISTER/EMISSIONS SYSTEM. CAR HAS HARD TIME STARTING AFTER SHORT TIME OF BEING SHUT OFF. COMPANY KNOWS OF THIS PROBLEM, IT HAS INSTRUCTIONS IN OWNERS M ANUAL ON HOW TO RESTART CAR. SOMETIMES IT CAN TAKE A LONG TIME. THIS CAN PUT A LOT OF UNNECESSARY STRESS ON THE BATTERY. I BELIEVE THIS ISSUE SHOULD HAVE HAD A RECALL & BE FIXED BY COMPANY. PLEASE NOTE: I'M NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER.

IT CURRENTLY DIES APPROXIMATELY 3 TIMES IN A ROW BEFORE THE ENGINE WILL STAY RUNNING. THIS IS A HIGHLY DANGEROUS EVENT. IF IT SHUTS OFF AND I DO NOT WAIT AT THE GAS STATION WHILE I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THEN THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS AND I COULD HAVE AN ACCIDENT AND KILL MYSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE. THE JEEP'S ENGINE CRADLE/SUBFRAME IS RUSTED OUT AND HAS HOLES IN IT SO IT CANNOT HOLD MOTOR AND HAS A CRACK THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF FRAME.

I DECIDED TO PUT IT IN PARK AND LET IT SIT THERE FOR A MOMENT BEFORE I TRY TO TURN IT ON AGAIN. AFTER ABOUT A MINUTE I TURN IT ON AND MOVE MY CAR OFF TO THE SIDE TO GET OUT OF EVERYONE'S WAY. ONCE AGAIN THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND MY CAR DIDN'T WANT TO STAY ON. MANY MINUTES LATER AFTER SHUTTING IT OFF AND TURNING IT BACK ON I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE A LITTLE WAYS DOWN THE ROAD BEFORE ONCE AGAIN MY CAR STARTED BUCKING REALLY BAD AND SHAKING LIKE IT WAS GOING TO SHUT OFF ON A BUSY ROAD. I DECIDED TO PULL INTO A NEIGHBORHOOD WHERE MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AGAIN AND EVERY LIGHT ON MY CAR CAME ON (CHECK ENGINE, OIL, TIRE, ETC...). MY AIR WAS COMING OUT HOT AND MY CAR SMELLED REALLY BAD. I DECIDED TO LET MY CAR SIT THERE FOR AWHILE AND FINALLY AFTER 20 MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE WITH NO PROBLEMS. I READ UP ON THIS SITUATION AND IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM WITH JEEP PATRIOTS. I CAN'T FILL MY TANK UP ALL THE WAY BECAUSE I EXPERIENCE THESE PROBLEMS.
MY FRONT AND REAR CROSS MEMBERS ARE CORRODED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM. THEY TOLD ME I HAD TO CALL CHRYSLER, WHICH TOOK FOREVER AND A DAY TO GET BACK TO ME (ABOUT 10 DAYS). FOR THEM TO TELL ME IT WAS NOT SOMETHING THEY FEEL IS NECESSARY TO FIX. IF I WANT I COULD HAVE THE DEALER DO IT, AND PAY OUT OF MY POCKET. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE PATRIOTS, AND SOME JEEPS IN GENERAL. THIS IS NOT A FIX I CAN AFFORD, NOT CAN I GET A NEW CAR AT THIS TIME. MECHANICS AT THE DEALER WERE SHOCKED CHRYSLER DID NOT APPROVE THIS, SINCE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
EVERY TIME I REFUEL THE VEHICLE SPUTTERS AND STALLS. NO MATTER WHAT GRADE OF FUEL. IT WILL SPUTTER AND STALL FOR UP TO 20 MILES AFTER I FILL IT UP. IT HAS EVEN STALLED WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS WHEN THAT HAPPENS. IT'S NOT SAFE. THE JEEP DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN REPLACING STUFF HOPING TO FIND A FIX BUT NO LUCK SO FAR. IT WILL STALL STATIONARY, MOVING, TURNING, OR BRAKING. I BELIEVE IT MAY BE SOMETHING RELATED TO THE FUEL TANK ROLLOVER VALVE. AT LEAST THAT'S THE ONLY REASONABLE THING I HAVE READ OR BEEN TOLD. I HAVE A 2007 JEEP PATRIOT. EVERY SINGLE TIME I PUT GAS IN IT, IT RUNS A VERY SHORT DISTANCE FROM THE GAS STATION AND STARTS TO BUCK AND JOLT LIKE IT WANTS TO SHUT OFF. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IF I WAN TO GO ON HIGHWAY.
AFTER THE TANK IS FILLED TO FULL, I THEN DRIVE OFF, AND THE NEXT TIME THE CAR COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE ENGINE CUTS OUT. THE CAR HAS TO BE PUT INTO PARK AND THE ENGINE IS ABLE TO RESTART, AND THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE TANK IS FULL - BUT IT CAUSES THE ENGINE TO STALL OUT. AS LONG AS I DON'T FILL THE TANK TO FULL, IT WON'T HAPPEN. HOWEVER THIS HAS BEEN CONSISTENTLY HAPPENING ANYTIME I FILL UP THE TANK OVER THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF.
EVERY TIME WE FILL THE GAS TANK, WITHIN A COUPLE MILES OR LESS, THE ENGINE BEGINS TO STALL. THIS IS A CONSISTENT PROBLEM AND DOES NOT MATTER WHEN/ WHERE THE VEHICLE IS DRIVING. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AS THIS USUALLY HAPPENS IN TRAFFIC AFTER LEAVING THE GAS STATION.
VAPOR/LIQUID SEPARATOR VALVE. EVERYTIME I FILL UP MY GAS TANK, WITHIN A FEW METERS OF THE GAS STATION MY CAR BEGINS TO BUCKS AND STALL. EVERY SINGLE TIME! ALMOST CAUSING MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM
CAR PURCHASED IN WI AND DRIVEN IN TX. CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN REGULARLY TO MECHANIC FOR MAINTENANCE FOR FRONT SUSPENSION PROBLEMS. AT 77K, TWO OUTER TIE RODS AND TWO LOWER BALL JOINTS REPLACED, AT 133K, REPLACED ONE LOWER BALL JOINT AND ONE OUTER TIE ROD AGAIN. AT 136K REPLACED INNER TIE ROD. AT 143K REPLACED TWO FRONT CONTROL ARMS. CURRENTLY, BOTH CONTROL ARMS AND OUTER TIE RODS NEED TO REPLACED AGAIN, CURRENT MILEAGE IS 198K. MECHANIC HAS REPORTED NOISE COMING FROM FRONT SUSPENSION AND HAS NOTED HEAVY AMOUNT OF RUST ON THE FRONT CROSS MEMBER. STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE METAL IN FRONT CROSS MEMBER IS WEAK AND FURTHER COMPROMISED IF DRIVING IN AREAS WHERE SALT IS USED TO DE-ICE ROAD. IN ADDITION TIRES HAVE NEEDED TO REPLACED EACH TIME DUE TO UNEVEN WEAR RESULTING FROM THIS PROBLEM. CAR IS MAIN DRIVEN IN CITY ENVIRONMENT.

FILLED UP THE TANK WITH FUEL, WHEN PULLING OUT IN TRAFFIC THE VEHICLE STALLS AND THEN EITHER CUTS OFF OR SURGES CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES.

OCCASIONALLY, EARLY IN THE MORNING, IT MAY STALL ALSO. IT WILL RESTART IMMEDIATELY AFTER STALLING BUT THE STALLING IS DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING AT SPEED, ON THE HIGHWAY, AND/OR IN TRAFFIC.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP PATRIOT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS REFUELED, IT WOULD STALL OR HESITATE TO DRIVE. IN ADDITION, WHEN THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, IT WOULD STALL AND RESTART INDEPENDENTLY AFTER THREE MINUTES BEFORE SUDDENLY OPERATING NORMALLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE ONLY OCCURRED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REFUELED. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DEALER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000.

I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND ALL THEY TELL ME IS THAT I NEED TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK AT MY COST.
