Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)ON SUNDAY, JAN 26, 2020, I WAS DRIVING FROM EAGLE RIVER, AK TO JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON ON THE GLENN HIGHWAY. I NOTICED THAT THE HOOD OF MY 2017 JEEP PATRIOT WAS BOUNCING. I REDUCED MY SPEED AND MOVED INTO THE FAR RIGHT LANE UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE HIGHWAY SAFELY. WHEN I PULLED INTO THE PARKING LOT ON BASE, I FOUND THAT THE HOOD RELEASE HAD POPPED, BUT THE SAFETY LATCH WAS STILL ENGAGED. I RELEASED THE SAFETY LOCK, RAISED THE HOOD AND THEN CLOSED IT.. I THEN TOOK MY PATRIOT TO THE JEEP DEALER IN ANCHORAGE AND THEY CHECKED IT OUT AND TOLD ME THAT IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE MY JEEP.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
