Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)am writing to formally report multiple serious issues with my 2019 Jeep Renegade (VIN: [XXX] ). I take good care of my vehicle, but it has been experiencing rough shifts, lurching and jerking during acceleration, loud noises from the engine or transmission, hesitation, unexpected power loss, and it frequently displays a warning that the license plate light is off. Recently, the car overheated and required a water pump replacement, and since then it emits a burning hose smell. Additionally, the driver’s seat does not lock properly, and the radio often turns off and on by itself. These ongoing problems not only compromise the safety, reliability, and proper functioning of my vehicle but also create a significant financial burden. I am requesting an immediate inspection and resolution, and I would appreciate guidance on the next steps or the earliest available appointment for service. A prompt response is important, as these issues pose a serious safety risk while driving. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
P1DB7 Check engine light code. Almost every other new Jeep seems to have this issue and just reading about it online the problem is so bad one person had a brand new car and on the drive home from Jeep dealer got a check engine light but that’s only because it was new under warranty.
Throttle body sensor, throttle body injector, and acceleration pedal are failing. I was in traffic and my car went into limp mode because of a code P2122 which is the throttle body sensor. My car did not want to go faster than 10 miles an hour.
The vehicle was involved in a crash and no airbags deployed. The front right (passenger) side quarter panel, windshield bumper, headlight, marker light, and turn signal will all need replaced. With no safety restraint system, had the accident taken place at higher speeds, my passenger and myself could have been seriously injured or worse. The transmission, at 54,000, has began to overheat and slip while shifting. The cooling fans only work with the air conditioner on causing the vehicle to overheat. This vehicle has a 194° thermostat and the temperature gauge reads 227° but the actual gauge shows the temperature still in the middle, where it always is. I have replaced the coolant bottle due to it separating at the seam causing a coolant leak. Also, NHTSA show that I have zero pending recalls when I know there is because I never took the vehicle to the dealership because the dealership is permanently closed.
I have a 2019 jeep renegade. I have had issues with the vehicle not wanting to shift when it is cold and after it has been driven long periods of time. I have had the vehicle in several times an they keep saying there is nothing wrong. When I first got the vehicle before the first oil change they had to put a quart of oil in the vehicle. That has not happened until now. I went to go to Cleveland last week and I checked the oil and had to put a quart of oil in it before I went. I had 15500 miles on it and did not have to change the oil until 20000. When I told them that they said that they were allowed 1 quart of oil between oil changes. I did not buy a brand-new vehicle to have to check the oil every 3000 miles. If I want to do that I would of kept my chevy trailblazer that I did not have to put a quart into just a ½ quart that cost 2 – 3 dollars a quart not 10. That was why I got rid of the other vehicle.
When vehicle is started ALL warning lights come on and stay on. 4WD does not work when this happens. Parking brake occasionally will not release when this happens. Unsure if hill start assist or other drive train issues will work when this problem occurs. Occasionally the alarms will not go off and the lights will not come on, when this happens 4WD will engage. This vehicle has been in the shop many times for this issue.
