WHEN GAS TANK IS FILLED COMPLETELY AT A GAS STATION. THE PUMP KICKS OFF AND THEN FUEL PROCEEDS TO SPILL BACK OUT OF THE JEEP. IT SEEMS TO BE ABOUT 8 OZ OR SO. *TR
EVERYTIME I FILL THE GAS TANK THE GAS OVERFLOW ON TO THE GROUND AFTER THE GAS HOSE SHUTS OFF. *JS
WHEN REFUELING AND FILLING UP GAS TANK, THE AUTOMATIC GAS PUMP NOZZLE DOES NOT SHUT-OFF IN TIME RESULTING IN GAS OVERFLOW/SPILLING. TYPICALLY A FEW CUPS OF GAS WILL SPILL OUT BEFORE NOZZLE SHUTS OFF THE GAS FLOW. HAVE TRIED FILLING AT DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS, WITH DIFFERENT PUMPS, AND POSITIONING NOZZLE IN DIFFERENT POSITIONS BUT RESULT IS THE SAME AND GAS OVERFLOWS. ONLY WAY TO PREVENT IS TO GUESS HOW MUCH GAS IS NEEDED -- THEN STOP PUMP BEFORE TANK IS FULL -- THEN FILL REMAINDER OF TANK WITH PUMP ON SLOWEST SETTING. *TR
I HAD JUST BOUGHT AN UNLIMITED 2005 JEEP WRANGLER- THE FIRST TIME I STOPPED TO GET GAS I FOUND OUT VERY QUICKLY THAT THERE IS AN OVERFLOW PROBLEM WITH THESE MODELS. EVERYONE WHO IS A JEEP OWNER KNOWS ABOUT IT AND SAYS THERE ARE SOME FIXES, BUT THEY ARE LENGTHY. EVERYONE WHO ISN'T WONDERS WHY IT HASN'T BEEN RECALLED AND FIXED. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM THAT COULD POSE A LARGE HAZARD AT GAS STATIONS. *TR
WHEN FILLING GAS IN NJ THE GAS ALMOST ALWAYS SPITS OUT BEFORE THE TANK IS FULL. SINCE THIS IS NJ, BY LAW THIS HAS FULL SERVICE, SO THESE ARE PROFESSIONALS THAT ARE FILLING THE GAS, NOT ME. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. *TR
WAS ON VACATION IN ALASKA WHEN WE STARTED TO GET THE JEEP DEATH WOBBLE ( SHIMMY) . WE TRIED WHEEL BALANCE AS I THOUGHT MAYBE WE LOST A WHEEL WEIGHT. STILL SHIMMYING. INSTALLED A NEW STEERING DAMPENER AND THIS HELPED A LITTLE. STILL SHAKING AT AROUND 55 TO 60 MPH. ENDED UP BUYING 4 NEW TIRES AND THAT SEEMS TO HAVE HELPED BUT THERE IS ALWAYS A SLIGHT SHIMMY IN THE STEERING WHEEL. NOTHING LIKE B/4 THOU WHEN YOU WOULD HAVE TO SLAM THE BRAKES ON TO GET IT TO STOP SHAKING. WAITING FOR IT TO START AGAIN. *TR
AROUND JUNE 2010, I PARKED THE VEHICLE IN A HOSPITAL PARKING LOT. UPON RETURNING TO VEHICLE, SHIFT LEVER JUST FLOPPED BACK AND FORTH. COULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. HAD JEEP TOWED TO JEEP DEALERSHIP. THEY REPLACED THE SHIFTER CABLE AT A COST OF OVER $300.00. TWO WEEKS AGO, JUNE 2012, WHILE DRIVING, JEEP SHIFTER BROKE AGAIN WHILE LOCKED IN DRIVE. SAME DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE SHIFT CABLE BUSHING. ANOTHER $100. I CALLED JEEP/CHRYSLER AND THEIR REPRESENTATIVE INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAD NO OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. FUNNY, SINCE THERE ARE MANY WEBSITES ABOUT THIS VERY, ONGOING, PROBLEM WITH JEEP SHIFTER CABLES. IN MY OPINION, THIS COULD BE A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. THERE IS NO WARNING OF FAILURE. IF IT HAD OCCURRED A DAY PRIOR, I COULD HAVE BEEN BACKING DOWN THE BOAT RAMP! I FEEL A RECALL, OR AT LEAST, A NOTIFICATION TO JEEP OWNERS, SHOULD BE INITIATED BY JEEP/CHRYSLER. I HAVE A 2005 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED...WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY HITTING A SPEED OF ABOUT 62 MY JEEP STARTING SHAKING SO VIOLENTLY THAT I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO LOOSE MY FRONT END! THE STEERING WHEEL FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO COME OFF IN MY HANDS AND THAT MY TIRES WERE READY TO FALL OFF AS WELL! THIS WAS VERY VERY SCARY SINCE I HAD MY GRANDCHILD IN THE JEEP WITH ME! I PAID OVER $800 TO HAVE THE SUSPENSION ROD/TIE RODS REPLACED. THEN SHORTLY THEREAFTER, MY JEEP WOULD NOT START. A LITTLE PIN IN THE STEERING COLUMN BROKE AND THE THAT PART IS NOT SOLD SEPARATELY SO I HAD TO HAVE THE WHOLE STEERING COLUMN REPLACED...ABOUT ANOTHER $600. *TR
EVERY TIME I PUMP GAS IT OVERFLOWS. THE FLAPPER IN THE TOP OF THE GAS TANK ISN'T WORKING CORRECTLY. THIS IS APPARENTLY AN ISSUE FOR THE MAJORITY OF 05 AND 06 MODELS. CHRYSLER DECIDED TO FIX THE 07-08 MODELS AND DO NOTHING FOR THE 05-06. *TR
CATALYTIC CONVERTER: WAS DRIVING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON, VEHICLE BEGAN 'CHUGGING' AS THOUGH NOT GETTING ENOUGH FUEL. SMELLED GASOLINE. CALLED JEEP DEALER IN FLORIDA AND WAS ADVISED TO LET ENGINE COOL, THEN DRIVE TO LOCAL DEALER SINCE IT SOUNDED AS THOUGH THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. STATED THIS AS NORMAL FOR THE MILEAGE. EMISSIONS WARRANTY VALID. (WAS STATIONED IN NAPLES, ITALY.) JEEP DEALER IN NAPLES ADVISED HE WOULD NOT HONOR ANY WARRANTY AND WOULD NOT FIX UNTIL I PAID HIM 1K EUROS. OVERSEAS MILITARY CAR SALES GOT INVOLVED AND SAID NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT: WORK WOULD BE DONE AND COVERED BY WARRANTY. DEALER PULLED ENTIRE EMISSIONS SYSTEM OUT AND REPLACED IT, THEN REFUSED TO RELEASE VEHICLE FOR 30 DAYS UNTIL I PAID THE 1K EUROS. DEALER STATED HE DID NOT HAVE TO HONOR WARRANTY ON A US-REGISTERED VEHICLE BECAUSE FIATCHRYSLER PAID HIM LESS THAN HE COULD GET FROM ME. THREATENED TO IMPOUND VEHICLE. FIATCHRYSLER REFUSED TO ASSIST ALTHOUGH DEALER WAS NOT AUTHORIZED TO PULL/REPLACE SYSTEM UNLESS COVERED BY WARRANTY. FLORIDA DEALER AND SELLING DEALER IN WA STATE ADVISED THAT IF WE COULD HAVE GOTTEN THE VEHICLE HOME, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A WARRANTY REPLACEMENT WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS BECAUSE IT WAS A COMMON ISSUE AT THIS MILEAGE (53K).
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED TWICE UNDER THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V460000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND ROLLED BACKWARD UNTIL HE ENGAGED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A RESPONSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.

MY JEEP OVERFLOWS GASOLINE EVERYTIME I FILL UP AT THE PUMP! *TR
OUR 2005 JEEP WRANGLER HAS BEEN OVERFLOWING WHEN FILLING UP THE GAS TANK FOR TWO MONTHS NOW. THERE IS NO WARNING AND THE GAS SPEWS OUT OF THE NOZZLE/TANK. THE GAS OFTEN GETS ALL OVER MY SHOES, HANDS AND PANTS. WE ARE NOT IGNORING THE SHUT OFF CLICK, SINCE THIS PROBLEM BEGAN THERE HASN'T BEEN ONE. FOR OUR OWN SAFETY WE WAIT UNTIL THE GAS LIGHT IS ON TO GET GAS AND THEN ESTIMATE HOW MUCH GAS WE NEED IN ORDER TO STAY GAS FREE. WE HAVE RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM AND IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH JEEP AND CHRYSLER VEHICLES INVOLVING THE INLET CHECK VALVE, YET THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING. *TR
PURCHASE A USED 2005 JEEP WRANGLER (SPORT) WITH 103,000 MILES IN EARLY 2011. THE SIX SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION POPS OUT OF FIRST GEAR ABOUT ONCE A DAY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION. IT ALMOST SEEMS RANDOM, NEVER KNOW WHEN TO EXPECT THE EVENT. THE EVENT IS QUITE DISTURBING AND LOUD, WITH A LOUD "POP". THE JEEP ROLLS FORWARD BUT OUT OF GEAR. I MUST QUICKLY PUT IT BACK IN FIRST GEAR TO CLEAR THE INTERSECTION, RED LIGHT, ETC. WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THIS TRANSMISSION? IS IT NORMAL WEAR-AND-TARE, OR IS THERE A DESIGN DEFECT WITH THE TRANSMISSION? WHAT IS THE SOLUTION TO THIS UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITION? HAS THERE BEEN A RECALL? *TR
GASOLINE SPEWS OUT OF TANK WHEN CLICKING OFF WHEN FULL. THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS AND GETS GASOLINE ON MY TRUCK AND I HAVE HAD GASOLINE SPEWED ON ME BEFORE. IT'S NOT FUN GOING TO WORK SMELLING LIKE A GAS STATION. THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE, WHY ISN'T THE MANUFACTURER REQUIRED TO FIX THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM? *TR
WHEN FILLING UP WITH GAS THE FUEL GUSHES OUT OF THE GAS HOLE WHEN THE PUMP CLICKS OFF. *TR
WHEN REFUELING THE VEHICLE, FUEL PUMP NEVER SHUTS OFF. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE NOW FOR A LONG TIME. THE FUEL SYSTEM ALLOWS THE PUMP TO CONTINUE RUNNING AFTER THE TANK IS FULL. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT GAS STATION I GO TO. GASOLINE ALWAYS OVERFLOWS AND SPILLS OUT ONTO THE GROUND. I WAS RECENTLY REFUELING MY AND THE VEHICLE AND THE PUMP DID NOT SHUT OFF. A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF GAS FLOWED OUT ONTO THE GROUND AND SOMETHING LIT THE FUEL VAPORS CAUSING A SMALL FIRE. I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT OUT WITH AN EXTINGUISHER. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED THE ENTIRE GAS STATION TO CATCH FIRE/EXPLODE AND IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. *TR ..UPDATED 09/12/12 *BF UPDATED 09/12/2012 *JS
FUELING UP AT THE GAS STATION, CANNOT FILL UP WITHOUT GAS SPITTING OUT ONTO ME, THE VEHICLE, AND THE GROUND. NO OTHER VEHICLE I'VE OWNED HAS THIS PROBLEM, INCLUDING AN 03 JEEP WRANGLER AND A 2000 DODGE DURANGO, BOTH OF WHICH IN MORE RECENT MODEL YEARS HAVE HAD A RECALL FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. IT IS AN ENVIRONMENTAL AND HEALTH HAZARD, AS FUEL IS A CARCINOGEN. *TR
EVERY TIME I FILL-UP, GAS BLOWS OUT OF THE FILLER NECK, ABOUT 3 TO 6 OZ. *TR
ON FEBRUARY 18TH 2012, I PURCHASED A USED 2005 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON FROM A JEEP DEALERSHIP. EVERY TIME I'VE FILLED UP FOR GAS, THERE IS AN OVER SPILL OF ABOUT 1/8 OF A GALLON. THIS HAPPENED ON 2/27/12, 2/29/12 , 3/15/12, 3/25/12, AND 4/23/12. EVEN WHEN SLOWING DOWN TOWARDS THE END OF THE FILL UP, IT STILL SPILLS OVER, JUST LESS SEVERE. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER. THEY PERFORMED A FUEL SYSTEM SOFTWARE UPGRADE ON 4/06/12, BUT THAT DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A HUGE NUISANCE (NOT TO MENTION SAFETY/FIRE HAZARD) AND FROM WHAT LITTLE RESEARCH I'VE DONE, DOES NOT SOUND LIKE AN ISOLATED PROBLEM. *TR

PUMP KICKS OFF EVERY 2/10THS OF A GALLON WHILE PUMPING FUEL. HAPPENS WHETHER YOU ARE AT FULL FLOW OR JUST LETTING IT TRICKLE. *TR
WHEN FILLING THE CAR WITH GASOLINE, THE AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF DOES NOT OCCUR AND FUEL BLOWS OUT OF THE JEEP AND DOWN ON THE GROUND AND ME IF I AM CLOSE. IT APPEARS THAT A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF FUEL SPILLS. THIS OCCURS AT ALL FILL UPS IT IS NOT GAS STATION SPECIFIC. THIS CAN BE A DANGER IF IT SPEWS ON SOMETHING HOT. RECENTLY PURCHASED THE WRANGLER USED. FUEL SPILL EVERY TIME YOU FILL THE GAS TANK. WHEN THE FUEL PUMP CLICKS OFF FUEL SHOOTS OUT THE FILL SPOUT. *TR
AS GAS TANK APPROACHES FULL WHILE FUELING, THE FUEL SPILLS OUT OF THE FILLER NECK AT A HIGH RATE WITHOUT WARNING. *TR
WHEN FILLING UP WITH FUEL, THE FUEL TANK SYSTEM DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF UNTIL AFTER FUEL HAS SPILLED OUT OF THE FUEL TANK DOOR AND ONTO THE GROUND. *TR
WHEN FILLING GAS TANK, GASOLINE SPEWS FROM THE FILLER NECK PRIOR TO THE AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF ON THE PUMP ENGAGING. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE SINCE 2008.

FUEL FILL SPITS OUT FUEL EVERY TIME I FILL THE TANK. IT IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION DUE TO THE VOLATILITY OF GAS. *TR
MY 2005 JEEP WRANGLER TJ WILL SPIT FUEL EACH TIME I FILL THE VEHICLE (OVERFLOW) AND IT WILL SPILL GASOLINE ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND ON THE GROUND. *TR
WHEN REFUELING A SIGNIFICANT QUANTITY (ESTIMATED AT 8 OUNCES OR MORE) OF GASOLINE IS "SPIT BACK" OR DISCHARGED FROM THE FUEL FILLER OPENING AS THE TANK REACHES FULL. THIS DISCHARGE PRODUCES A PUDDLE OF GASOLINE AT LEAST 24" IN DIAMETER AND LEAVES THE EXTERIOR AND UNDERSIDE OF THE FENDER DRIPPING WITH GASOLINE AND DEPENDING ON THE FILLER HOSE CONFIGURATION MAY SOAK THE CLOTHING OF THE PERSON OPERATING THE PUMP. THIS EVENT OCCURS EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS REFUELED UNLESS CARE IS TAKEN TO STOP ADDING FUEL BEFORE THE TANK REACHES FULL CAPACITY. CLEARLY THIS CREATES A VERY DANGEROUS, ENVIRONMENTALLY HAZARDOUS AND POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING SITUATION!! *TR
WHEN FUELING THE VEHICLE, GASOLINE OVERFLOWS AND SPEWS OUT OF THE GAS TANK OPENING. THIS HAPPENS EACH TIME THE VEHICLE IS FUELED AND OCCURS AS THE TANK REACHES FULL. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND UNHEALTHY SITUATION WHICH NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURER. I WAS SHOCKED TO FIND THIS IS A KNOWN AND WIDELY REPORTED ISSUE, BUT NOT YET RESOLVED BY CHRYSLER. *TR
A LARGE AMOUNT OF FUEL VIOLENTLY ERUPTS FROM TANK MOUTH WHEN FILLING AND OVERFLOWS ONTO THE VEHICLE, GROUND & MYSELF. THIS OCCURS AT EACH COMPLETE FILL-UP. THIS 2005 JEEP WRANGLER SPORADICALLY TRIPS OBD-2 CHECK ENGINE CODES FOR EMISSION EVAPORATIVE COMPONENTS, IN THE P0440-P0456 RANGE. *TR
WHEN FILLING THE VEHICLE UP WITH GASOLINE AT A SERVICE STATION AN OVERFLOW CONDITION OCCURS WHERE A SIGNIFICANT VOLUME OF GASOLINE SPEWS OUT OF THE FILLER NECK. THE OVERFLOW OF GASOLINE IS ENOUGH TO DOUSE THE OPERATOR PERFORMING THE FILLUP, RUN DOWN THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, AND LEAVE A LARGE PUDDLE OF GASOLINE ON THE GROUND. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH OR ABOVE, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY. THE CONTACT HAD TO REDUCE SPEED TO REGAIN CONTROL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO TEST DROVE AND WAS ABLE TO RECREATE THE FAILURE IN THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THEY ADVISED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC WAS PERFORMED THAT LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE STEERING ASSEMBLY. THE STEERING ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WA 82,000. THE DEALER DID ACKNOWLEDGE THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING. HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT HAVE A FIX FOR IT. THE CONSUMER STATED HE FOUND A MECHANIC THAT WAS FAMILIAR WITH THE PROBLEM AND ALL FOUR CONTROL ARMS, TRAC BAR AND STEERING SHOCK WERE REPLACED. UPDATED 02/07/13
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2005 JEEP WRANGLER. EVERY TIME I FILL GAS, WHEN THE PUMP SHUTS OFF GASOLINE COMES SPRAYING OUT OF THE VEHICLE'S TANK AND ALL OVER THE GROUND. APPROXIMATELY A CUP OR MORE COMES OUT OF THE JEEP'S TANK. I THINK THIS IS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY THE NHTSA AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT BY THIS DEFECT. A RECALL FOR THE ITEM SHOULD BE MANDATED BY THE GOVERNMENT AND JEEP SHOULD BE FORCED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET AND IT SEEMS PRETTY WIDESPREAD. *TR
WHEN FILLING THE FUEL TANK WITH GAS, THE GAS PUMP DOES NOT SHUT OFF WHEN THE TANK IS FULL. THIS CAUSES OVERFLOW OF GAS FROM THE TANK. AN INTERNET SEARCH INDICATES THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH JEEP WRANGLERS. *TR
THE AUTOMATIC FUEL SHUT-OFF DOES NOT WORK CAUSING FUEL TANK TO BE OVERFILLED. I HAVE FUEL SPILLAGE EVERY TIME AND IT DOESN'T A MATTER HOW FAST THE FUEL IS PUMPED. *TR
GAS TANK SPITS BACK OUT GAS AS SOON AS THE FILLING STOPS. THERE IS ENOUGH GAS LOST TO SPILL DOWN THE SIDE OF THE JEEP AND ONTO THE GROUND. I HAVE USED DIFFERENT PUMPS AT THE SAME STATION AND FINALLY WENT TO OTHER STATIONS AND THE SAME HAS HAPPENED EACH TIME I GAS UP MY VEHICLE. I JUST RETURNED FROM THE JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WAS IN THE CHECK VALVE AND I WOULD NEED A COSTLY REPLACEMENT OF THE WHOLE TANK. I SEE NOW THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS GAS TANK. LOSING EVEN A SMALL AMOUNT OF GAS IS COSTLY NOT TO MENTION THE POTENTIAL DANGER OF FREE GAS SPILLING OUT. A RECALL IS NEEDED WHICH IS NOT LIMITED TO ONLY CERTAIN YEARS. *KB
FUEL TANK OVERFLOWS EACH AND EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS FILLED WITH FUEL. I HAD A 2004 JEEP WRANGLER AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM.
FUELING STOPPER ASSEMBLY DOES NOT TRIGGER GAS STATION PUMP NOZZLE TO STOP DISPENSING FUEL ON TIME. THE RESULT IS SPILLED FUEL EVERY TIME DUE TO FUEL OVER FLOW FROM FUEL TANK WHEN EVER A FUEL FILL UP IS ATTEMPTED. THIS HAPPENS 100% OF THE TIME. *TR
DEATH WOBBLE!!!! STARTED ABOUT DEC 2011 AROUND SPEEDS OF 55-60 MPH. CAR WILL SUDDENLY START TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE. WHEN VIEWING FROM BEHIND IN ANOTHER CAR IT APPEARS AS IF THE WHEELS MAY COME OFF. I HAVE REPLACED THE SHOCKS, STRUTS, STABILIZER BAR, TRACK BAR, SPRINGS, SPACERS, CALIPERS, HUBS, NEW TIRES, BALANCE AND ROTATE TIRE EVERY 5000-6000 MILES, NEW FRONT BRAKES, NEW BACK BRAKES, TWO REAR ALIGNMENTS, 3 FRONT ALIGNMENTS, AND ROTORS, I DEATH WOBBLE HAS GONE FROM BAD TO DANGEROUSLY WORSE. MY WRANGLER IS A FACTORY RIGHT HAND DRIVE JEEP THAT I USE TO DELIVER MAIL. I WAS USING AS MY PRIMARY CAR AS WELL. I MUST DRIVE 25 MILES TO WORK VIA INTERSTATE AND THEN ANOTHER 65 MILES ON MY ROUTE. THE CAR CONSISTENTLY SHAKES WHEN I HIT SPEEDS OF 45 MPH OR HIGHER. A BUMP IN THE ROAD WILL TRIGGER THE WOBBLE AS WELL. I SPOKE TO TWO DIFFERENT JEEP DEALERSHIPS TODAY AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN TO AT LEAST 6 DIFFERENT MECHANIC SHOPS, ONE OFF ROAD SHOP, AND TWO DIFFERENT ALIGNMENT SHOPS. I WAS TOLD THAT I COULD TRY REPLACING THE GEAR BOX ($899.99) AND ALSO TRY REPLACING MY RIMS! IF THE MAKER OF MY VEHICLE HAS NO IDEA ON WHAT OR HOW TO FIX IT........THEN WHO WILL? I WOULD LIKE TO RESOLVE MY DEATH WOBBLE. I AM EXTREMELY ANNOYED! I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR TO AND FROM WORK AND WHEN IT RAINS I AM A NERVOUS WRECK JUST KNOWING I WILL HAVE TO DRIVE MY JEEP ON THE INTERSTATE. SADLY ITS GOTTEN TO THE POINT THAT I WILL NOT ALLOW ANY OF MY KIDS IN THIS VEHICLE. I END UP HAVING TO LEAVE MY JEEP AT WORK IN ANOTHER TOWN IF MY HUSBAND ISN'T ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO AND FROM WORK FOR ME. EVERY TIME THAT I REFILL THE TANK, GAS WILL OVERFLOW OUT OF THE TANK AFTER THE PUMP SHUTS OFF. SOMETIMES THE GAS WILL SPRAY OUT VIOLENTLY, OTHER TIMES THE GAS WILL JUST SPILL DOWN THE SIDE OF THE JEEP AND ONTO THE GROUND. *TR
WHEN FULLING THE VEHICLE THE FUEL OVERFLOWS OUT OF THE GAS TANK SPILLING THE FUEL ONTO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND GROUND. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS FUELED AND IT HAS HAPPENED AT DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS. *TR IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE GAS HANDLE IS ON AUTO PILOT NOR MANUAL FUELING.
I BOUGHT MY 05 JEEP LJ WRANGLER UNLIMITED WITH 20,600 MILES AND THE 1ST TIME I FILLED IT AT 20,800 AND EVERY SINGLE TIME IT WHETHER I HAVE THE HANDLE SET TO AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF OR HAND PUMP IT SLOW OR FAST DOESN'T MATTER WHAT GAS STATION IT SPEWS GAS ALL OVER BEFORE STOPPING TODAY AT 31K MILES I'VE HAD IT SLEW SO BAD I GOT SOAKED FROM THE WAIST DOWN HAVING MY LEGS FEEL A BURNING SENSATION ALONG WITH MY FEET DUE TO BEING SOAKED IN GAS!!!!!!!!!! WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK, THE SHUTOFF VALVE TO PREVENT FUEL OVERFLOW DOES NOT APPEAR TO WORK PROPERLY AND THE RESULT IS THAT FUEL OVERFLOWS FROM THE FILLER NECK AND RUNS ALL OVER THE VEHICLE AND GROUND. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME IT'S FILLED UP REGARDLESS OF HOW QUICKLY OR SLOWLY I REGULATE THE FLOW OF FUEL INTO THE TANK. *TR
