TAKATA RECALL.I CONTACTED THE DEALER, FAMILY CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM IN PHILADELPHIA, ABOUT FCA RECALL # S33 (NHTSA RECALL # 16V-290) AND WAS TOLD THAT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. I AM AWARE OF THE PARTS ISSUE WITH FCA RECALL # S43 / NHTSA # 16V-352 NOT BEING AVAILABLE. I TRIED TO EXPLAIN TO THE SERVICE PERSON THAT I WAS REFERRING TO FCA RECALL # S33 (NHTSA RECALL # 16V-290); HOWEVER, SHE WAS ADAMANT THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AND THAT I WOULD RECEIVE A NOTICE WHEN THEY WERE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,529.

WHEN REFUELING THE CAR, GASOLINE GUSHES OUT OF THE FILL HOLE WHEN THE PUMP SHUTS OFF. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME AND I HAVE LEARNED TO NEVER FILL THE TANK. THE FIRST SEVERAL TIMES THIS HAPPENED I WAS SOAKED WITH GASOLINE. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED TO AVOID THE PROBLEM BY NEVER FILLING THE TANK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND FILED A REPORT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.
JUST BOUGHT 2010 JEEP ON 1/2/17 WITH ONLY 38K MILES FOR OUR 17 YEAR OLD SON. EVERY TIME WE PUT GAS IN THE JEEP THE GAS SPLATTERS OUT EVERYWHERE, ENOUGH TO SATURATE SIDE OF JEEP AND GROUND AS WELL AS CLOTHES, SKIN. THE GAS WILL STILL COME OUT AFTER AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF OCCURS. IT SEEMS THE GAS IS COMING BACK OUT OF THE TANK AND NOT THE NOZZLE SINCE WE HAVE GONE TO DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS. EVEN LET THE GAS NOZZLE SIT A MOMENT BEFORE REMOVING FROM TANK. VEHICLE ENGINE WAS SHUT OFF AND NOT RUNNING. NOZZLE WAS PROPERLY INSERTED. MY HUSBAND AND MYSELF HAVE TRIED TO DO IT WITHOUT THE GAS SPILLING (SLOW, NOT TOPPING OFF, WAITING TO REMOVE NOZZLE) BUT IT STILL DOES IT. NOT A SAFE VEHICLE FOR OUR SON TO TAKE TO COLLEGE.
WHEN FUELING, GAS SPRAYS OUT OF THE FILL HOLE. THIS CAUSES A DANGEROUS CONDITION FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND FOR THE PEOPLE IT SPRAYS ON. FCA SAYS I NEED A NEW FUEL TANK.($1100.00) THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM WHEN THE WARRANTY WAS IN EFFECT BUT NOW THAT THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED THEY KNOW EXACTLY WHAT TO DO.

TAKATA RECALL-------- OK--I RECEIVED A RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS MONTHS AGO....IN THE RECALL IT STATES THAT THIS PROBLEM IS A "SERIOUS THREAT TO YOUR AND YOUR PASSENGERS SAFETY" AND SHOULD BE REMEDIED ASAP......"IT COULD RESULT IN DEATH.." CALLED MY DEALER AGAIN TODAY TO SEE IF I CAN GET IT FIXED..I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND THE LATEST HE HAS HEARD IS MONTHS IF NOT YEARS AWAY FROM EITHER A FIX OR GETTING THE PARTS........ WHAT IS NHTSA'S POSITION ON THIS?? JUST DRIVE THE CAR AND CONTINUE TO TAKE A CHANCE THAT THE PROBLEM WILL NOT OCCUR..?? IF IT DOES AND KILLS MY GRANDSON???? GAS GUSHING OUT WHEN FILLING VEHICLE AT GAS PUMP, THE AUTO SHUT OFF DOES NOT SHUT OFF MANUALLY OR AUTO SHUT OFF. VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, I BELIEVE THIS IS A MANUFACTURERS PROBLEM IN THE GAS TANK PREVENTING THE GAS OVERFLOW. THIS IS A HAZARD. THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 47K MILES. THIS HAS HAPPENED THE LAST 4 TIMES PUMPING GAS.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE PA TURNPIKE. I WAS DOING THE SPEED LIMIT. NOTHING ON THE ROAD, NO IMPACT. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR STARTS TO SHAKE AND I COULD TELL SOMETHING WAS WRONG. *TR

THE VEHICLE WOULD SPIT GAS OUT OF THE FILLER PIPE AFTER THE PUMP WOULD CLICK OFF. THE PROBLEM THEN DEVELOPED INTO NOT LETTING ME PUT GAS IN AT ALL WITHOUT THE PUMP CLICKING OFF MANY TIMES FOR A SMALL AMOUNT OF FUEL. REPLACING THE TANK FIXED THE PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN WELL DOCUMENTED FROM 2007-2012 BUT JEEP ONLY RECALLED OR EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON MODELS 2007-2008.
TIPM IS FAULTY. POWER LOCKS NON FUNCTIONAL. WASHER PUMP NON FUNCTIONAL. PASSENGER HEADLIGHT STAYS ON HIGH BEAM CONSTANTLY EVEN WHEN VEHICLE IS NOT IN USE. UNPLUGGING BATTERY IS MANDATORY TO KEEP LIGHTS OFF AND BATTERY FROM DRAINING. FACTORY INSTALLED REMOTE START DOES NOT WORK. PROBLEM OCCURRED WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT HIGH SPEEDS DOWN THE HIGHWAY. INABILTY TO WASH THE WINDSHIELD IS A HUGE SAFETY FACTOR. AS WELL AS THE CONSTANT HIGH BEAM TO OTHER MOTORISTS.

FRONT END WOBBLES WHEN GOING AT SPEEDS OVER 60 MPH WHEN HIT POT HOLE. BETTER KNOW AS THE DEATH WOBBLE.
Jeep Wrangler JK is required to replace clockspring due to dust that could compromise airbag circut causing potential non-deployment of the driver airbag. Currently, the jeep is available for inspection. Non deployment of the airbag can cause bodily harm or life threating injuries that put at risk driver and others. Jeep owner bring multiple times the vehicle to the dealership but they didn't have part available and never is been fixed. The vehicle has been inspected from multiple technicians at differents dealership. Airbag warning is showing in the dashboard of the vehicle since 2016.
JUST PURCHASED THIS JEEP A FEW WEEKS AGO AND, EVEN THOUGH WE KNEW THE TIPM WAS A KNOWN ISSUE, WE THOUGHT PERHAPS IT WOULD NOT SURFACE FOR A FEW MONTHS OR YEARS. WELL 2 WEEKS AGO, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED BEEPING. A FEW DAYS LATER, IT WOULD NOT START. THEN TODAY THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING & BEEPING AND A FEW MINUTES AFTER THAT, THE ENGINE STALLED. ALTHOUGH I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT, 10 MINUTES LATER IT STALLED AGAIN & I COULD NOT RESTART IT & NOTHING WAS COMING ON - NO HAZARDS / LIGHTS / ENGINE LIGHTS. ANOTHER 10 MINUTES AND I NOTICED THE LIGHTS WERE BACK ON SO I TRIED TO START IT AGAIN . ENGINE TRIED TO TURN OVER BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT DIDN'T START. WAITED ANOTHER FEW MINUTES & IT FINALLY STARTED. WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME & AM NOT GOING TO MAKE THE APPOINTMENT TO GET THE TIPM REPLACED. JEEP NEEDS TO OWN THIS PROBLEM AND MAKE IT A RECALL. ITS TERRIFYING KNOWING THAT I COULD HAVE BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE CAR DIED.

MY HEADLIGHTS DO WORK RIGHT. SOMETMES THEY COME ON AND SOMETIMES THEY JUST TURN OFF AND SOMETIMES THEY DON'T TURN ON AT ALL. THE JEEO DEALER SAID IT WAS THE TIPM AND APPRX. $1,200.00 TO FIX. I THINK JEEP SHOULD RECALL !!!
THE FUEL EVAPORATION PORT ON MY GAS TANK WHICH HAS A HOSE THAT CONNECTS TO THE EVAP CANISTER BROKE FOR NO REASON. I COULD FREQUENTLY SMELL GASOLINE OUTSIDE THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE & BEING NEAR THE MUFFLER WAS AFRAID OF A FIRE. ALSO SINCE THESE FUMES ARE VENTED BACK INTO THE ENGINE I HAD ROUGH IDLE, LOWER ECONOMY, & WAS POLLUTING THE ATMOSPHERE. ALSO, THE ONLY SOLUTION OFFERED BY DEALER WAS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE GAS TANK FOR $900.
THE VEHICLE HEADLIGHTS WILL RANDOMLY CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THE HEADLIGHT ISSUE EFFECTS BOTH HEADLIGHTS AND FOG LIGHTS AND WILL STAY OUT FOR SECONDS AND ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS REQUIRE SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE COMING BACK ON BOTH WHILE STATIONARY AND WHILE DRIVING. I HAD THE SWITCH ON THE STEERING COLUMN REPLACED WHICH DID NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED TO THE FUSE BOX. THE HEADLIGHTS CUTTING OUT IS A MAJOR CONCERN AND WHEN I CALLED JEEP FOR A PRICE THEY HAD IT IN STOCK WHICH WOULD INDICATE THIS IS A KNOWN AND NORMAL ISSUE.
TAKATA RECALL. S33 AIRBAG RECALL. MY AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR TWO WEEKS. I HAD AN OIL CHANGE AT A SUBARU DEALERSHIP AND THEY CHECKED DIAGNOSTICS GOT CODE B1B02. BROUGHT MY JEEP INTO A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP, AS THE RECALL NOTICE SUGGESTED, AND THEY CHARGED ME $85 FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC CHECK. NOW I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH NO AIRBAG AND I'M $85 OUT OF POCKET!!!!!!! FURIOUS.
VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. AFTER FLASH UPDATE ON TIPM. TIPM FAILURE OCCURRED CAUSING STARTER TO "FRY". THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT HAS HAD MANY COMPLAINTS. THIS CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS ON VEHICLES WHILE IN MOTION. CAN'T BELIEVE THE NHTSA FAILED TO INVESTIGATE AFTER ALL THE COMPLAINTS RECEIVED.
"TAKATA RECALL" S43/NHTSA 16V-352 RECEIVED THIS NOTICE OF RECALL IN JULY 2016. CALLED DEALER WHO INDICATED PARTS WERE BEING MANUFACTURED AND WOULD TAKE ABOUT 2 MONTHS TO RECEIVE. SEPTEMBER 2016, CALLED DEALER AND THE TIMELINE FOR PARTS IS MAYBE NEXT YEAR. CALLED FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILES (FCA) IN JULY AND AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER. THEY HAVE NO TIMELINE FOR THE PARTS TO ARRIVE. THEY HAVE NO OPTIONS TO GIVE US EXCEPT FOR DRIVING THE JEEP AT OUR OWN RISK OR PARK IT. THE FCA RECORDING AND THE PERSON WITH WHOM WE SPOKE ARE PASSING THE BUCK...THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO. IT APPEARS TO BE MORE OF A DISCLAIMER. WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE HAVE NOT BEEN TOO MANY INCIDENTS WITH THESE TAKATA AIR BAGS AND NO DEATHS. THIS IS CONTRARY TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AND REASON FOR THE RECALL.

TAKATA RECALL STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX THE VEHICLE. JEEP HAS NOT UPDATED ME WITH THE NEW TIMELINE FOR REPAIR.
DROVE MY CAR AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. PARKED CAR AT MY APARTMENTS AND SMELLED SOMETHING THAT SMELLED LIKE A FIRE. WENT TO THE OTHER SIDE AND SAW FIRE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. WITHIN MINUTES THE FIRE CONSUMED THE ENTIRE FRONT OF MY JEEP WRANGLER. I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS BEFORE THIS NOT EVEN A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON.

WASN'T DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE FOR 3000 MILES I USE SYNTHETIC ROD BLEW WHILE ON FREEWAY WITH MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR . NO BRAKES NO WARNING NO STEERING WE COULD HAVE DIED! CHRYSLER TURNING THEIR HEAD! MECHANIC SAYS IT'S A DEFECT IN ENGINE AND NEVER SEEN AN ENGINE BLOW AT 64,000 MILES AND STILL HAVE ALL PROPER LEVELS OF FLUIDS! I WAS GOING 65 MILES AN HOUR ON A FREEWAY THANK GOD IT WAS A STRAIGHT STRETCH AND I WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE, HAD THERE BEEN A TURN OR HAD WE HAVE BEEN ON A BRIDGE WE WOULD HAVE DIED OR SERIOUSLY INJURED SOMEONE ELSE!
WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK, FUEL COMES GUSHING OUT FROM THE FILLER HOLE. THIS HAPPENS JUST AS THE GAS PUMP CLICKS OFF. IT SPILLS A LARGE AMOUNT OF FUEL ALL OVER THE CAR AND ME. I WOULD ESTIMATE 1/2 CUP TO 1 CUP OF GAS SPILLS DEPENDING ON HOW QUICKLY THE GAS PUMP IS RUNNING. FROM MY RESEARCH SO FAR THIS IS NOT RECALLED AND NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THIS SEEMS LIKE AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DEFECT THAT WAS PRESENT AND COVERED FOR 2007-2008 MODELS. 2010 MODELS NEED TO BE LOOKED AT AND COVERED. THIS COULD BE A POTENTIALLY FATAL DEFECT.
JEEP WILL NOT HOLD FIRST GEAR IN. EVERY TIME IT IS PUT INTO FIRST GEAR, THE SHIFTER IS KICKED OUT. THE CLUTCH WAS PUSHED IN COMPLETELY WHEN PUT INTO GEAR AND THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. THE ISSUE USUALLY HAPPENS AT ABOUT 5 MPH AND BELOW AND SOMETIMES WHEN COMPLETELY STOPPED. THIS ISSUE HAS NEARLY CAUSED MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE INABILITY TO BE ABLE ACCELERATE AS NEEDED. ONE OF THE "SOLUTIONS" IS TO USE SECOND GEAR TO TAKE OFF AND COMPLETELY BYPASS THE FIRST GEAR WHICH WILL SPEED UP THE WEAR ON THE CLUTCH CAUSING PREMATURE REPLACEMENT.
"TAKATA RECALL" (2 RECALLS). RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE. ON THE 2ND PARAGRAPH IT STATES THAT THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. IT DOESN'T GET MUCH WORSE THEN DEATH. HOWEVER, WE STILL HAVE TO OPERATE THESE VEHICLES KNOWING THAT IT'S A RISK TO OUR HEALTH AND SAFETY. NHTSA SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND SPOKE TO A REP. I TOLD HIM MY CONCERN AND HE EXPLAINED THAT PARTS MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL EARLY 2017. I TOLD HIM THIS CALL WAS TO INFORM HIM OF MY CONCERN AND THAT GOD FORBID SOMETHING HAPPENS THAT I WOULD OWN CHRYSLER AND WILL FILE A SUIT AGAINST NHTSA. ALLOWING DRIVERS TO OPERATE VEHICLES WITH KNOWN SAFETY DEFECTS IS A CRIME. I INFORM YOU TODAY BASICALLY NOTIFYING YOU THAT I'M ON RECORD AND THAT MY ATTORNEY HAS BEEN DIRECTED TO DO THE SAME.

THE ONLY THING THAT STOPS, I DISCOVERED RECENTLY, IT IS TO SLOW DOWN TO A STOP, WHICH IS PRETTY DIFFICULT ON A HIGHWAY WITHOUT GETTING REAR ENDED OR INTO AN ACCIDENT. THIS APPARENTLY IS COMMON AMONG JEEPS, ESPECIALLY WRANGLERS, BUT IT SHOULD BE FIXED BY CHRYSLER. THIS IS REALLY DANGEROUS!!
