CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK (MULTIPLE TIMES FIXED).*JS
THE HEATER IN MY JEEP HAS NEVER WORKED SINCE WE BOUGHT IT! THE DRIVER SIDE ESPECIALLY! WE TOOK IT BACK WHERE WE BOUGHT IT AND THEY SAID THE VENT WAS STUCK AND IT JUST CONTINUES TO GET WORSE NOW ITS FREEZING. ONLINE THE INTERNET IS BLOWING UP W/ PEOPLE W/ THE SAME ISSUES WITH THESE. VEHICLES. WHY IS THERE NOT A RECALL? THIS SHOULD BE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUITE IF YOU DO NOT TAKE CARE OF THIS ASAP!
DEFECT: FAILURE OF THE FACTORY INSTALLED MOPAR/CHROME BUMPER IN AN IMPACT OF LESS THAN 5 MILES PER HOUR. 2011 JEEP WRANGLER WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHEREIN THE FRONT RIGHT BUMPER IMPACTED INTO A FIXED OBJECT (FREE STANDING BRICK WALL). THE BUMPER, WHICH CONSISTS OF TWO CHROME WRAPPED TUBULAR DEVICES MOUNTED TO A CENTER HOLDING BRACKET, SUFFERED NEGLIBLE DAMAGE CONSISTING OF SHALLOW ABRATIONS ON THE TUBULAR DEVICE AND WITHOUT EVIDENCE OF DENTING OF SAID DEVICE. THE TUBULAR COMPONENT MOUNTS TO THE HOLDING BRACKET BY WAY OF BOLTS. THE MOUNTING BRACKET SHOWS NO SIGN OF DAMAGE HOWEVER THE TUBULAR COMPONENTS NOW MOVE FREELY BUT REMAIN MOUNTED TO THE BRACKET INDICATIVE OF DAMAGE TO THE HOLDING BOLTS OR THE INTERNAL NUT/SCREW SYSTEM INSIDE THE TUBULAR COMPONENTS. THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED IN A CONFINED SPACE OF A DRIVEWAY. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND EXAMINED THE BUMPER. THE LOCAL DEALER DID NOT BELIEVE THE BUMPER WAS DESIGNED TO BE "BREAK AWAY " IN A LOW SPEED/LESS THAN 5 MILE PER HR ACCIDENT. THE DEALER WAS ASKED TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURE OF THE BUMPER TO DISCUSS THIS DEFECTIVE PART OR DESIGN FLAW. *TR
THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR BOARD FILLS WITH WATER (UNDER THE FLOOR MAT) ON MY 2011 JEEP WRANGLER. DURING ANY RAIN STORM, MY PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR IS DRENCHED (PUDDLES OF WATER) VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN FOR REPAIRS SINCE 8/2011 (DATES OF SERVICE 8/1/2011; 1/17/2014 AND 5/9/2014) NOW THAT THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED, WE ARE AT A LOST ON HOW TO HANDLE THIS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED WHEN A PASSENGER EXIT THE REAR PASSENGER SEAR THEY WOULD FALL OVER THE CARPET, DUE TO IT CURLING UP FROM THE FLOORBOARD. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT IT WAS A COSMETIC FAILURE AND DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,600. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER FOR THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE COMPONENT WAS WELDED HAPHAZARDLY DURING THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS. THE CONTACT SPOKE TO A MECHANIC WHO ADVISED THAT A BOLT HAD PROBABLY FRACTURED FROM THE SHIFTER. THE VEHICLE WAS TRADED FOR THE 2012 MODEL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.
I HAVE A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER. I HAVE HAD MY JEEP INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOUR TIMES SO FAR FOR A LEAKING ROOF. EACH TIME I GET IT BACK IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE FIXED AND THE PROBLEM IS WORSE. I PD THEM $1500. ON THE FIRST VISIT. THEY EVEN SENT IT BACK TO ME WET ONCE. IT HAS HAD SO MUCH WATER IN IT SO MANY TIMES I WONDER IF IT HAS MOLD. I HAVE HAD IT DETAILED AND DRIED SEVERAL TIMES, BUT WHAT ABOUT WHAT I CAN'T SEE, IN THE VENTS...EVERY TIME I TURN ON THE AC OR HEATER OR DEFROST AM I BLOWING MOLD SPORES ALL OVER AND THEN BREATHING THEM IN? IT HAS BEEN SO WET INSIDE AFTER A BAD RAIN I HAD CONDENSATION ON THE ROOF...INSIDE MY JEEP. EVERYTHING IN MY JEEP GETS WET, COATS, TOWELS, MAIL OR ANY PAPER, DAMP AND SOFT. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THEY'VE KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, BUT REFUSE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR MANUFACTURING ERROR. HOWEVER THEY HAVE DISCONTINUED THE FREEDOM STYLE TOP. IT SEEMS LIKE A WAY TO GET OUT OF ACTUALLY RECALLING THE STYLE, THEY'LL JUST CALL IT DISCONTINUED. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED IN MY EXPERIENCES W/THIS, IN TOTAL THEY'VE HAD MY CAR FOR AT LEAST A MONTH, WORKING ON A WATER LEAK. SEEMS LIKE QUITE A BIT OF TIME, MY JEEP MUST HAVE LEAKS EVERYWHERE. I HAVE NEVER REMOVED ANY OF THE PIECES ON MY TOP, SO IT CAN'T BE THAT I'M NOT PROPERLY PUTTING THEM BACK ON. JEEP HAS CONTINUED TO MAKE MONEY BY CHARGING CUSTOMERS TO REPLACE SEALS, AND SENDING PEOPLE HOME W/A LEAK WORSE THAN WHEN THEY TOOK IT IN. I'VE ASKED THEM TO CLEAN THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE VENTS, I DON'T KNOW IF THOSE THINGS WILL HAPPEN AS IT IS IN THE DEALERSHIP NOW 9 DAYS THIS TIME AND DON'T KNOW WHEN I'LL GET IT BACK. THE FIRST YEAR I HAD MY JEEP THE PASSENGER DOOR POPPED OPEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE SEAL FREE OF CHARGE BECAUSE IT WAS DEFECTIVE. *TR
WHENEVER I AM TRAVELING ON A TWO LANE ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH AND AM PASSED FROM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION BY A LARGE SEMI, ALSO TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY THE SAME SPEED, THE HOOD ON MY WRANGLER LIFTS OFF ITS SEAT FROM THE GUST OF WIND CREATED BY THE SEMI. AFTER THE SEMI HAS PASSED, THE HOOD SETTLES BACK DOWN. THE HOOD LATCHES ARE MADE OF RUBBER AND ALLOW THE HOOD TO DO THIS. THIS CAN BE A LITTLE SCARY ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE BEING PASSED BY MULTIPLE TRUCKS. THE HOOD GOES UP, COMES BACK DOWN, AND THEN REPEATS THIS UNTIL ALL OF THE TRUCKS HAVE PASSED. COULD THE HOOD LATCHES FAIL AND ALLOW THE HOOD TO HIT THE FRONT WINDSHIELD? *TR
TRANSMISSION IS A STANDARD SHIFT WHEN I LET OUT ON CLUTCH THE ENGINE WILL STALL. AT FIRST I THOUGHT BECAUSE I WAS NOT LETTING OUT ON CLUTCH PROPERLY AND HAD TO GET USED TO DRIVING IT.MY BOY FRIEND WHO DRIVES A DIESEL TRUCK WITH A STANDARD EVERYDAY HAD THE INCIDENT HAPPEN TO HIM AND SUGGESTED WE TAKE IT IN FOR SERVICE .WHICH THEY SAID THEY TEST DROVE AND CONCLUDED NO PROBLEMS MANY TIMES BACK TO DEALERSHIP WITH NO LUCK NOW I'M OUT OF WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE IS VERY DANGEROUS IT STALLS ALL THE TIME WHEN I SIT AND IDLE AT A RED LIGHT OR A CROSS ROAD AT A STOP SIGN WHEN I LET OUT ON CLUTCH IT STARTS ROLLING FINE WHEN CLUTCH IS DISENGAGED IT WILL NOT TAKE THE GAS THEN ENGINE WILL SPUTTER THEN DIE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING OVER A BUMP, THE VEHICLE JERKED VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE BUT DECIDED TO PERFORM A TIRE ROTATION, WHICH FAILED TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER TWICE AFTER THAT WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DAMPNER WAS LOOSE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AS THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED BUT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND 40 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED OR REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 3,500.
FUEL OVERFLOW AND SPIT BACK EVERY TIME I FILL UP MY GAS TANK. THE AUTO-CUTOFF DOES NOT WORK. *TR
DEAR[XXX] A VERY HIGH PROFILE ACCIDENT OCCURRED IN THE CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE AREA ON APRIL 30, 2011. ON THAT DATE A [XXX] DROVE OFF A CLIFF ON SIGNAL MOUNTAIN AND WENT MISSING FOR 7 MONTHS... T-3.4 SECS, THE YAW RATE SENSOR SHOWED A SUDDEN CHANGE IN THE YAW RATE FROM -23 DEGREES/SECOND TO 0 DEGREES/SECOND IN 0.2 SECS. T-2.9 SECS, THE VEHICLE DETECTS THE SUDDEN CHANGE IN THE YAW RATE AND CAUSES THE ESP TRACTION LAMP TO START FLASHING. THE LAMP REMAINS FLASHING UP UNTIL THE IMPACT WITH A 300# BOULDER AT WHICH TIME THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED RECORDING THESE DATA. T-2.5 SECS, THE DRIVER NOTICES THE FLASHING ESP TRACTION LAMP IN 0.4 SECS LIFTING HER FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR BRIEFLY FOR 0.3 SECONDS. THE ACCELERATOR POSITION IS INDICATED BY THE BLUE LINE. SHE THEN REAPPLIED THE ACCELERATOR TO THE SAME LOCATION BY T-2.2 SECS INDICATING THAT SHE REALIZED SHE WAS NOT SLIDING DESPITE THE ESP TRACTION INDICATOR. SHE HAD HER VEHICLE UNDER CONTROL AT THIS TIME. T-1.8 SECS, THE ESP MODULE APPARENTLY TOLD THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY PUMP TO LOCK BOTH FRONT WHEELS WHILE ALLOWING BOTH BACK WHEELS TO KEEP DRIVING THE VEHICLE FORWARD. THIS SUGGESTS THAT IN ADDITION TO HER YAW SENSOR FAILURE THERE WAS ALSO A SOFTWARE ERROR THAT TOOK PLACE. (I KNOW OF NO CIRCUMSTANCE WHEN ONE WOULD WANT BOTH FRONT WHEELS TO LOCK IN ORDER TO STABILIZE A VEHICLE IN MOTION). THE LOCKING OF BOTH FRONT WHEELS THEN CAUSED HER TO LOSE CONTROL ULTIMATELY PLUNGING HER OFF THE 300 FOOT CLIFF. T-0.5 SECS, ALTHOUGH THE DRIVER IS STILL 0.5 SEC FROM THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT THE YAW RATE SENSOR LOST COMMUNICATION WITH THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT RECORDER CONFIRMING THAT HER YAW RATE SENSOR HAD FAILED, I.E. TAKATA RECALL, FOR MY LOCATION HAS YET TO BE ADDRESSED. I HAVE SPOKEN TO SEVERAL EMPLOYEES IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF THE DEALERSHIP FROM WHICH IT WAS PURCHASED AS WELL AS TO SEVERAL PEOPLE INCLUDING THE MANAGER OF THE DEALERSHIP. ONLY ONE PERSON FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT LOOKED UP MY VEHICLE ON HER COMPUTER AND FOUND THE RECALLED AND SEVERAL COMPLAINTS, ATTEMPTED REPAIRS THAT FAILED TO BE REPAIRED, MY SERVICE TEAM MANAGER LYING TO MY FACE AFTER BEING PRESENTED WITH NHTSA DOCUMENTATION PROVING MY CLAIMS, SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR THE RECALLED PARTS, SERVICE DEPARTMENT CLAIMS IN REPORT, RECALLED PROBLEM REPAIRED WHEN IT HAS NOT BEEN OR CLAIMING UNABLE TO REPRODUCE CLAIMED RECALLED PROBLEM. FOR YEARS UNTIL THE MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY AND THE EXTENDED SERVICE MECHANICAL WARRANTY AS WELL AS THE EXTENDED INTERNAL WARRANTY EXPIRED WITH OUT ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF THE DANGEROUS CONDITIONS I AM HAVING TO DRIVE A VEHICLE WITH SEVERAL HIGHLY DANGEROUS LIFE THREATENING ISSUES SOME RECALLED BY MANUFACTURER OTHERS THEY'VE IGNORED AS WELL AS IGNORING ME THE OWNER. THESE ISSUES CONTINUE TO THIS DAY! THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND COMPUTER,WHILE DRIVING ON U.S. I-95 HEADING WEST IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC MY VEHICLE WENT DEAD SURROUNDED BY VEHICLES GOING WELL ABOVE THE 55 MPH SPEED LIMIT. SOME HOW I MANAGED TO MANOUVER IT THRE LANES OVER TO THE NON-EXHISTING PULL OVER LANE AS THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED. THERE WAS NO POWER. I CALLED 911, WHO HUNG UP ON ME, AS DID THE LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT OF PRINCINCT 3, ONLY THE ARRIVAL OF THE TOW TRUCK AND DRIVER WHO MANAGED TO SET REFLECTIVE WARNING TRIANGLES FAR BEHIND MY VEHICLE AND REPIDLY ASSISTING ME TO EXIT MY VEHICLE WITHOUT INJURY OR DEATH. THEN PROCEEDED TO TOW MY VTTO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF THE DEALERSHIP. THE SIDE REAR VIEW MIRRORS WITH A HEATING ELEMENT THAT IS SUPPOSED TO KEEP THEM DRY AND CLEAR IN ALL WEATHER WERE CLAIMED FIXED. MORE
VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN IN FOR LEAKING 5 TIMES AND FIVE TIMES THE DEALER RETURNED IT STILL LEAKING. *JS
I HAVE A 2007 JEEP COMPASS AND TODAY MY HUSBAND NOTICE A LITTLE BIT OF RATTLING IN THE FRONT END. WHEN WE REV UP THE ENGINE IT FADES THE RATTLING OUT. HAVEN'T HAD THE CHANCE TO TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC JUST YET, BUT READING SOME OF THE RESPONSES IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM (AND POSSIBLY COSTLY ONE) TO FIX WHICH DOES NOT MAKE ME HAPPY. VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS ABOUT 83,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT ANY SPEED, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SLIP OUT OF GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TRANSMISSION BOOT WAS REPLACED, HOWEVER THE CONTACT WAS STILL EXPERIENCING THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 56,000.
I HAD A VEHICLE ACCIDENT AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. MY INSURANCE AGENT AND AUTO BODY TECHNICIAN BOTH AGREED THAT THE AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. *TR
DEATH WOBBLE OCCURS RANDOMLY WITHOUT WARNING IN OUR 2008 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED X, CAUSING US TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. TO TRY TO CORRECT THE ISSUE, WE REPLACED THE STEERING STABILIZER AND HAD THE TIRES ROTATED AND BALANCED (WHICH WAS UNNEEDED). THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. WE'VE TAKEN IT TO A FRONT-END SPECIALIST AND FOUND NO ABNORMAL WEAR. JEEP DEALERSHIP PROVIDED NO HELP OR ENCOURAGEMENT. *TR
I HAVE A 2011 RUBICON ANDT 2ND AND 4TH POPS OUT ALL THE TIME. 1ST AND 3RD LOCK IN GREAT. IF I PUSH THE CLUTCH IN I DON'T EVEN HAVE TO TOUCH THE SHIFTER AND IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY ROLL OUT OF 2ND AND 4TH. WHEN THE TEMP IS BELOW 15 OR 0 OUTSIDE. *TR

IT'S BEEN IN FOR SERVICE ON THE TRANSMISSION 3 TIMES NOW IN 3500 MILES. PROBLEMS SEEM TO BE GETTING WORSE. IN COLD TEMPERATURES, THE VEHICLE IS VERY DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER SAHARA 4X4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD INDEPENDENTLY SHIFT OUT OF GEAR WHEN DRIVING AT ANY RATE OF SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT THE BOOT UNDER THE GEAR WOULD BECOME TOO COLD AND CAUSING THE GEARS TO SHIFT INDEPENDENTLY. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE BY REMOVING THE BOOT. AFTER REPAIRS, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO EXHIBIT AN ABNORMALLY LOUD NOISE FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER AND THEY ADVISED THAT THE RECENT FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE REMOVAL OF THE BOOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 900.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER 4X4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WOULD SPORADICALLY BECOME STUCK. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND THE FLOOR MATS HAD TO BE REMOVED IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,000.
I OWN A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. IN COLD WEATHER AND WITH THE VEHICLE COLD, FOURTH GEAR CONTINUALLY POPS OUT OF GEAR AND NOW 2ND IS STARTING TO DO IT. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. ALSO, THEY CHECKED THE TSB, BUT NONE ARE LISTED. I HAVE READ JEEP FORUMS AND LEARNED THAT SOME BELIEVE THE PROBLEM WITH THE 2011S IS THE BOOT, EITHER INNER OR OUTER OR BOTH. WHEN IT IS COLD OUTSIDE, THE BOOTS DON'T FLEX WELL--SO IT PUSHES THE VEHICLE OUT OF GEAR. I HAVE BEEN IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN AND IT HAPPENS--HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. *TR

MY JEEP HAS A SIX SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND IT POPS OUT OF 2ND AND 4TH GEAR INTO NEUTRAL SINCE PURCHASED NOV. 06, 2010. I CALLED JEEP AND THEY SAID THAT IT MUST POP OUT WHEN THEY DRIVE IT. I AM SETTING UP AN APPOINTMENT. BUT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE I WILL BE EVENTUALLY REAR ENDED. WHY ISN'T THIS ON A RECALL?
I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE SINCE I PURCHASED IT IN NOVEMBER 2010. THERE HAS BEEN SYSTEMIC ELECTRICAL FAILURES THAT ARE GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE AND PUTTING MY SAFETY AT RISK. I HAVE BEEN GETTING THE RUN AROUND WITH CHRYSLER REGARDING THE PROBLEMS. - I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW FROM A JEEP DEALER IN LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA. SINCE BEING PURCHASED THE FOLLOWING COMPONENTS HAVE FAILED INTERMITTENTLY. EACH PART SIMPLY STOPPED WORKING WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND IN ORDER TO MAKE THEM START WORKING AGAIN I WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER TURN THE CAR OFF WAIT A FEW MINUTES THEN TURN THE CAR BACK ON (HORN, LIGHTS, WINDOW MASER SWITCH, CAR STEREO, CAR STEREO AMP, DRIVER'S AIRBAG). ONCE I RESTARTED THE CAR IT SEEMED LIKE THE JEEP WOULD RESET AND THE PARTS WOULD START WORKING AGAIN. JEEP HAS BEEN REPLACING THESE ITEMS, BUT THEY WOULD NEVER ROOT CAUSE THE PROBLEM. - MOST RECENTLY CHRYSLER DISCOVERED THAT THE FUSE BOX & ELECTRICAL CLUSTER WERE DEFECTIVE. IT TOOK JEEP 77 DAYS TO REPLACE THE 2 PARTS. THE WORSE PART IS THEY TRIED TO HAVE ME DRIVE THE VEHICLE DURING THOSE 77 DAYS UNTIL THE PARTS BECAME AVAILABLE PUTTING ME AND ANY VEHICLE AROUND ME AT RISK OF INJURY AND DEATH. THIS IN MY OPINION IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. - WHILE I HOPE THIS IS THE END OF MY PROBLEMS.. I THINK THE NHTSA SHOULD INVESTIGATE JEEP CHRYSLER'S ELECTRICAL CLUSTER AND COMPONENTS TO ENSURE THAT THEY ARE WORTHY OF BEING IN VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. *TR
1.TOP INTERMITTENTLY LEAKS ON/NEAR THE PASSENGER DOOR, AND WHEN THERE IS SNOW THE TOP ACTS LIKE A SPONGE AND SATURATES LEAKING WATER EVERYWHERE INSIDE THE JEEP. I HAVE DRIVEN AND BEEN IN SOFT TOPS MOST OF MY LIFE AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN A SOFT TOP SATURATE THAT BADLY THAT IT SOAKS THE INSIDE OF THE JEEP. ORIGINALLY THE TOP LEAKED TERRIBLE ANYTIME IT RAINED ALONG THE TOP OF THE WINDSHIELD AND PASSENGER SIDE, 4 TIMES I CALLED TO COMPLAIN 3 TIMES THEY TOLD ME IT WAS MY FAULT FOR PUTTING THE TOP ON WRONG IN WINTER THE 4TH TIME THEY ACTED SURPRISED AND SAID OH BTW THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN 2.THE ENGINE MAKES A TERRIBLE HIGH PITCH WHISTLE/SIREN NOISE FROM THE ENGINE INTERMITTENTLY. IT LAST ANYWHERE FROM A FEW MINUTES TO A FEW HOURS. I HAVE THIS ON VIDEO 2 TIMES AND DAN'S JEEP HAS HEARD IT ALSO ALONG WITH MANY COWORKERS FRIENDS AND FAMILY. 3.THE STEERING WHEEL MAKES A TERRIBLE NOISE WHEN COLD INITIALLY AND RECENTLY IS MAKING THE NOISE IN LESSER SEVERITY EVEN WHEN WARMED UP. THE NOISE IS LIKE DRAGGING A NAIL ACROSS A SPRING. 4.TWICE NOW MY JEEP HAS HAD A SERIOUS IDLE/RPM PROBLEM I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO CALL THE PROBLEM. SATURDAY THE 22ND OF OCTOBER 2011 I STARTED THE JEEP, IT IDLED FINE. I POPPED THE HOOD OPEN WITH A FRIEND TO SEE IF WE COULD HEAR THE SQUEALING NOISE WHEN I GAVE IT GAS. WHEN I GAVE IT GAS THE JEEP DROPPED IN RPM AND ACTED AS IF IT WAS GOING TO STALL OUT. EXPERIMENTING WITH THE AMOUNT OF GAS NO MATTER HOW FAR I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL IT CONTINUED TO SOUND LIKE IT WAS DYING. FRIDAY THE 28TH OF OCTOBER AFTER DRIVING FOR WELL OVER AN HOUR THE JEEP WAS MAKING THE HIGH PITCH SQUEALING/WHISTLE/SIREN NOISE. AGAIN AND AT A STOP LIGHT I WENT TO GIVE IT GAS AS THE LIGHT WENT GREEN AND THE JEEP DROPPED IN RPM AND BEGAN TO STALL OUT IT SEEMED. ABOUT 10 SECONDS LATER THE JEEP STARTED ACTING NORMAL AND ACCELERATED. *TR
