BOX 21-8007 AUBURN HILLS, MI 48321-8007 ATTN: CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS RE: RECALL NOTICE #P61/NHTSA 14V-631 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED VIN [XXX] CUSTOMER SERVICE GENTLEMEN: EVIDENTLY A SERVICE APPOINTMENT MEANS VERY LITTLE TO YOU. BACK IN DECEMBER LAST YEAR, YOU SENT ME TWO RECALL NOTICES CONCERNING THE HEATED MIRRORS ON JEEP WRANGLERS. AT THE TIME, I REMOVED THE FUSE FROM POSITION M35 TO DISABLE THIS FEATURE PER THE NOTICES, AND WAITED FOR THE LETTER ANNOUNCING THAT PARTS WERE AVAILABLE TO CORRECT THE CONDITION. THAT LETTER CAME SOMETIME IN MARCH AND I CALLED THE NUMBER TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT SOMETIME IN MID-APRIL AND WAS SCHEDULED FOR REPAIRS ON 5/20/15 AT 7:00AM. I SPECIFICALLY TOLD THE GIRL MAKING THE APPOINTMENT THAT I DID NOT HAVE A RIDE AND WOULD HAVE TO WAIT ON MY VEHICLE. SHE TOLD ME THAT WOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM IF I GOT THERE ON TIME AND THEY COULD MOVE IT THROUGH PRETTY QUICKLY. YESTERDAY (5/19/15) A RECORDED MESSAGE WAS LEFT ON MY VOICE MAIL REMINDING OF THE APPOINTMENT TODAY. SO FAR SO GOOD. THIS MORNING IS WHERE THE INCONVENIENCE OCCURRED. AFTER ARRIVING AT THE DEALER AT 7:00AM, I WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WERE RUNNING BEHIND AND STILL HAD 11 VEHICLES LEFT OVER FROM YESTERDAY. THEY SAID THEY COULD PROBABLY GET TO MINE LATE THIS AFTERNOON, OR POSSIBLY TOMORROW MORNING. SINCE THIS JEEP IS MY ONLY VEHICLE, THAT IS VIRTUALLY AN IMPOSSIBILITY FOR ME. I HAD ALREADY REARRANGED MY SCHEDULE TO BE THERE THIS MORNING. NOW I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH NO RESOLUTION. Windshield cracked.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ANOTHER DRIVER PULLED UP YELLING THAT MY CAR WAS ON FIRE. I PULLED OVER, SAW THE SMOKE AND THEN THE FLAMES FROM UNDER THE HOOD. FIRE AND RESCUE DETERMINED IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. I HAD JUST HAD THE SAFETY RECALL TAKEN CARE OF FOR THE MIRRORS LAST MONTH AND MY STATE INSPECTION DONE 4 DAYS PRIOR. IT IS AT THE SHOP CURRENTLY UNDER "INVESTIGATION" BY THE DEALERSHIP TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE. *TR
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO MAKE CONTACT WITH EDD KIRBY ADVENTURE CARS IN DALTON, GEORGIA ABOUT FIXING A RECALL ON MY JEEP WRANGLER. I HAVE CALLED THEM MULTIPLE TIMES TRYING TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT AND ALL THAT I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO IS LEAVE VOICE MAILS WITH MY NAME AND PHONE NUMBER AND HAVE NOT GOT A CALL BACK. WHEN I TRIED TALKING TO THE DEALER MANAGER I WAS PUT ON HOLD FOR TEN MINUTES BEFORE I WAS TRANSFERRED BACK TO THERE SECRETARY, AT TIME TIME I SIMPLY DISCONNECTED THE LINE BECAUSE APPARENTLY THEY DONT HAVE TIME TO HELP A CUSTOMER WITH A SAFETY RECALL. I BELIEVE THIS IS A TERRIBLE WAY TO DO BUSINESS AND WILL BE LOOKING FOR A NEW JEEP DEALER TO HANDLER MY MAINTENANCE. *TR

WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS APPLIED, IT TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,580.

FOLLOWING THE RECALL NUMBER N28/NHTSA 13V-234 AND P61/NHTSA 14V-631 I TOOK MY CAR TO POTAMKIN'S PLANET DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP DEALER IN MIAMI FLORIDA 33172 ON MARCH 13, 2015. THEY LEFT THE CAR THERE FOR ONE DAY AND THEY GAVE ME THE RECEIPT STATING "TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE - REPLACE POWER STEERING TUBE, INSPECT TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE, INSTALL PROTECTIVE SLEEVE AND BLEED POWER STEERING SYSTEM" AND ALSO "HEATED POWER SIDE VIEW MIRROR WIRE HARNESS - REPAIR INSTALL NEW MIRROR CONNECTORS AND WATER SHIELDS." I INSPECTED THE CAR MYSELF AFTER PICKUP AND I NOTICED NONE OF THE REPAIRS WERE DONE. I WENT BACK TO THE DEALER ON MARCH 21, 2015 AND I SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT MANAGER, [XXX]. THE CAR WAS INSPECTED AGAIN AND, IN FACT, NO WORK HAD BEEN DONE. THEY THEN INSTALLED THE SLEEVE IN THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE AND HE TOLD ME IT WAS THE ONLY WORK NEEDED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED FEBRUARY 23, 2015 AROUND 9AM . IT WAS SNOWING THAT DAY AND THE TEMPERATURE WAS IN THE 20'S. I WAS IN THE VEHICLE AND HAD THE DEFROSTER/HEATER TURNED UP ALL THE WAY. ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER OF SITTING, I HEARD A POPPING NOISE. ABOUT A FEW SECONDS LATER OF HEARING THIS POPPING NOISE I SLOWLY SEE A CRACK ON THE BOTTOM OF THE DRIVER SIDE WINDSHIELD JUST OVER 16 INCHES BUT NO MORE THAN 2 FEET LONG. I RECENTLY JUST MOVED FROM SAN DIEGO AND MY JEEP HAS NEVER SEEN SNOW OR HAD EXPERIENCE WITH THE COLD WEATHER BEFORE. I WENT ON WRANGLERFORUM.COM (JEEP ENTHUSIAST WEBSITE) AND THAT IS WHERE I FOUND OUT THAT I WASN'T ALONE. MORE JEEPS HAD THEIR WINDSHIELD CRACK DURING THE WINTER DUE TO THEM TURNING THE DEFROSTER/HEATER ABRUPTLY. I THINK THERE IS A DEFECT ON THE WINDSHIELD OR THE INSULATION AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. CHRYSLER/JEEP HAD DECLINED THE WARRANTY BECAUSE THEY CLAIM ITS FROM AN EXTERNAL FACTOR. AND I ASSURE YOU, I DON'T HAVE A CHIP ON MY WINDSHIELD. *TR

I HAD MY JEEP TIRE ROTATED AND WHEN DRIVING AWAY AT 40 MPH I FELT A WOBBLE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK INTO THE DEALER AND THERE WE PERFECT CUTS ALONG THE TIRES ON THE FRONT. ONE IS SLICED AND THE OTHER LOOKS LIKE SECTIONS WERE SLICED OFF. IT JUST SEEMS VERY WEIRD TO ME. *TR
THE NIGHT BEFORE AND MORNING OF WE HAD SNOW (01/26/2015-01/27/2015). I WENT OUT TO MY JEEP, CLEANED IT OFF, STARTED IT UP, TURNED THE DEFROSTER, PUT IT IN DRIVE, AND A 8 INCH CRACK APPEARED ON THE LOWER PART OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE CRACK STARTED RIGHT ABOVE THE WINDSHIELD FRAME THEN RAN PARALLEL ABOVE THE DEFROST VENTS. *TR
THE CAR AND STEERING WHEEL STARTS TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AT ANY SPEED WHEN ROAD BUMPS OR IRREGULARITIES ARE ENCOUNTERED. THIS ISSUE HAS RESULTED IN LOSS OF CONTROL AND MAY CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH. THIS HAS BEEN NAMED THE "DEATH WOBBLE" BY OTHER JEEP OWNERS. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE AFTER DEALER HAS REPLACED THE STEERING DAMPER. I FEEL THE CAR WILL RETURN TO THIS STATE AFTER THE SECOND FIX AND I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH THE FIX.
MY JEEP HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT TIRE ALIGNMENT . THE RIGHT AND LEFT TIRE WEAR TO FAST ATD THE OUTER SIDE CAUSING POSSIBLE PROBLEM DURING HANDLING ON WET ROADS. I HAVE TAKE THE JEEP TO A SHOP TO BE ALIGN, BUT THE MECHANIC TOLL ME THAT THE PROBLEM WITH MY JEEP IS THE CAMBER POSITION AND THESE POSITION IS SET BY THE FACTORY. THE FACTORY DESENT WANT TO MAKE THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL AND THE RELATED COMPONENT. WHAT I CAN DO TO RESOLVE THESE ISSUE? *TR

EXTREME TEMPS WARMING THE JEEP UP AND TURNED ON THE DEFROST. THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED IN A CIRCLE TYPE PATTERN THEN MULTIPLE LONG CRACKS ALONG THE ENTIRE BOTTOM OF THE GLASS. VEHICLE WAS ONLY A FEW MONTHS OFF THE LOT AND NO ROCK CHIPS IN THE WINDSHIELD. *TR
MY TRUCK HAS BEEN BROUGHT IN FOR SERVICE TWICE FOR REPEATEDLY STALLING WHILE IN MOTION. IT HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR A COMBINED 56 DAYS. I FIRST BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE ON 1/13/2015, AFTER THE VEHICLE STALLED ON 1/9/2015 WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, AND 1/13/2015 WHEN ACCELERATING TO 50 MPH. MY VEHICLE WAS CLEARED TO PICK UP ON 1/24/2015 FOLLOWING SERVICE THAT INCLUDED COMPUTER UPDATES, PHYSICAL INSPECTION, AND ROAD TESTING. MY VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN ON 2/5/2015 WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY ENTRANCE RAMP. IN ALL THREE CASES, THE VEHICLE STARTED WITHOUT ASSISTANCE IN ABOUT TEN MINUTES. I IMMEDIATELY RETURNED MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WOULD CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER TO SEND A TECHNICIAN TO INSPECT MY VEHICLE. THEY NEVER DID. ON 3/6/2015, I CONTACTED JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE REQUESTING ADDITIONAL HELP. MY CASE WAS REFERRED TO A SPECIAL CASE MANAGER WHERE MY CONCERNS WERE RUDELY DISMISSED. I HAVE BEEN CONTACTED MULTIPLE TIMES BY THE DEALERSHIP TO PICK UP MY TRUCK SINCE 3/11/2015, DESPITE THE FAILURE OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO IDENTIFY WHAT IS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. I DO NOT FEEL THE TRUCK IS SAFE TO DRIVE. I HAVE A FAMILY AND WILL NOT PUT THEM AT RISK BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP AND MANUFACTURER ARE BEING NEGLIGENT. I WILL NOT PICK UP THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS IDENTIFIED AND REPAIRED, OR THE VEHICLE IS REPLACED. I HAVE SEEN A SIMILAR CASE INVOLVING A 2013 JEEP WRANGLER THAT STALLS FOR UNIDENTIFIED REASONS POSTED ON THE NHTSA WEB SITE. THIS ALSO SOUNDS SIMILAR TO THE RECENT GM RECALL DUE TO DEFECTIVE IGNITION SYSTEMS THAT RESULTED IN STALLING AND CAUSED NUMEROUS FATALITIES. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE. *TR
GOT COLD OUT AND MY WINDSHIELD CRACKED BY ITSELF. JEEP REFUSES TO WARRANTY THE GLASS EVEN THOUGH I HAVE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY AND THIS WAS CRACKED OVERNIGHT IN THE DRIVEWAY. *TR
OIL COOLER / FILTER HOUSING LEAK - OIL COLLECTS AT BASE OF COOLER HOUSING. HAPPENED AT 25K MILES AND CONTINUES.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2013 JEEP WRANGLER AND THE WIPER WAS ICED UP SO I TURNED THE DEFROSTER ON HIGH AND MY WINDSHIELD CRACKED. THERE WERE NO VEHICLES ON THE ROAD WITH ME AND NOTHING HIT MY WINDSHIELD. THE CRACK IS ABOUT 6 INCHES LONG RUNNING LATERALLY TOWARD THE DRIVER SIDE AND ORIGINATED RIGHT ABOVE THE RIGHT DEFROSTER VENT THE CRACK HAS NO EXTERNAL RIDGE AND APPEARS TO BE RELATED TO A BODY STRESS ISSUE. THE TEMPERATURE WAS 20 DEGREES AND THE ISSUE OCCURRED AT 3:20 PM. *TR
HEADLIGHT HARNESSES GO BAD. LIGHTS FLICKER, DON'T TURN ON WITHOUT MESSING WITH HARNESSES OR TAKE A FEW SECONDS TO MINUTES TO TURN ON OR CHANGE TO HIGH BEAMS. THUS IS WHILE STATIONARY OR WHILE IN MOTION. HITTING BUMPS IN THE ROAD ALSO AFFECT THE LIGHTS FLICKERING OR TURNING OFF OR ON.

A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE LIGHT FOR AIRBAGS CAME ON THE CRUISE WOULD ONLY WORK PERIODICALLY THEN STOPPED. THEN WHILE GOING MAIL BOX TO MAILBOX. TURNING STEERING TO LEFT TO PULL AWAY FROM BOX THE AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND A WARNING SOUND. I CALLED DEALER THEY SAID IT SOUNDED LIKE A CLOCKSPRING ISSUE. BUT WHILE THEY LIGHT IS ON THEY SAID THE AIRBAGS WON'T DEPLOY. *TR
I RECEIVED A VEHICLE RECALL NOTIFICATION ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO AND DESPITE MY CONSTANT COMMUNICATION WITH MY DEALER, ALL I HAVE RECEIVED FROM THEM ARE VAGUE EXCUSES AND THE DEFICIENCIES HAVE NOT BEEN CORRECTED YET. AS A FORMER MILITARY OFFICER, THESE TYPE OF POOR ATTENTION TO RECALLS IS UNACCEPTABLE. PLEASE ASIST AT YOUR EARLIEST CONVENIENCE.
AT 50 MPH I CROSSED A TRANSITION ON AN OVERPASS AT A 45 DEGREE ANGEL. THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK SO HARD I COULD NOT KEEP MY HANDS ON IT. I HAVE HEARD OF THIS ISSUE CALLED THE "DEATH WOBBLE" BUT NEVER EXPERIENCED IT. THE WAY TO STOP IT IS TO TAP THE BREAKS BUT I COULD NOT BECAUSE I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE AND THERE WERE CARS BEHIND ME. IT FELT LIKE THE SUSPENSION HAD BROKEN AND I WAS GOING TO PULL OVER THERE WERE 2 LANES TO THE RIGHT WITH CARS COMING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER AND TOOK MY JEEP IN THE NEXT NIGHT. THE CONFIRMED THEY KNOW ALL ABOUT THE DEATH WOBBLE BUT REFER TO IT AS THE STEERING DAMPER ISSUE. I CALLED JEEP AND THEY FILED AN EXPEDITED CLAIM PROCESS BUT DID NOT CALL ME BACK WHEN PROMISED. WHEN I CALLED AGAIN, THEY HAD SOMEONE CALL ME THE NEXT WORKING DAY. HE SAID HE HAS NEVER HEARD OF THE ISSUE. I QUESTIONED HIM ABOUT IT AND EXPLAINED THAT IT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS. HE DID NOT OFFER TO DO ANY THING. HE HAD CALLED THE DEALERSHIP BUT HAD THE FACTS WRONG. HE IS SUPPOSED TO CALL ME BACK. *TR
DRIVER SEAT ADJUSTMENT FEATURE IS FAILING. PRIMARY DRIVER REQUIRES SEAT TO BE SET AT HIGHEST POSSIBLE HEIGHT (VERTICAL) ELEVATION POSITION. DRIVER HAS HAD TO REPEATEDLY USE MANUAL ADJUSTMENT FEATURE TO RAISE SEAT TO REQUIRED HEIGHT MAJORITY OF THE TIME THAT THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN. THE FREQUENCY THAT THE ADJUSTMENT MUST BE MADE BEFORE DRIVING IS INCREASING. ALTHOUGH THE SEAT HAS NOT YET DROPPED WHILE THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN MOTION, THE CONCERN IS THAT IT WILL START TO OCCUR IN THE FUTURE. WHEN THE SEAT DROPS, THE PRIMARY DRIVER HAS ISSUES WITH THE VISIBILITY AND REACHING THE BOTH THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. (NOTE: WHEN THE DRIVER SEAT IS ADJUSTED TO A HIGHER POSITION, IT ALSO MOVES FORWARD...CLOSER TO THE STEERING COLUMN AND BRAKE/GAS PEDALS). IN ADDITION, WHEN THE SEAT DROPS TO ITS DEFAULT POSITION, THE PRIMARY DRIVER'S FACE IS ALSO PUT AT RISK IF THE AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED. THIS COULD RESULT IN A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS INJURY TO THE PRIMARY DRIVER IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED WITH THE SEAT IN THE DEFAULT POSITION. THE POTENTIAL FAILURE OF THE SEAT ADJUSTMENT FEATURE IN THIS VEHICLE APPEARS TO CONSTITUTE A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD THAT MAY RESULT IN A SIGNIFICANT INJURY OR DEATH (IF FAILURE WERE TO OCCUR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING OPERATED BY THE PRIMARY DRIVER).
PARKING BRAKE ON MANUAL TRANSMISSION WITH 29" WHEELS WILL NOT HOLD JEEP ON INCLINE. HAVE TRIED ADJUSTMENTS AND UNABLE TO GET PARKING BRAKE TO WORK. SEEMS TO BE A BAD DESIGN. *TR
THE CAR BEGAN TO IDLE ROUGHLY--IT WOULD RATTLE AND SHAKE JUST SITTING AT A RED LIGHT. IF I TRIED TO JUST ROLL THE VEHICLE SLIGHTLY FORWARD, IT WOULD STUTTER. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, BUT THE MANUAL INFORMS TO WAIT A FEW DRIVE CYCLES TO SEE IF IT WILL JUST TURN OFF. PULLED THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE (P0306) AND IT WAS A CYLINDER 6 MISFIRE ISSUE. TOOK CAR IN ON 9 DEC 2014 AND THE ENTIRE LEFT CYLINDER COLUMN WAS REPLACED. ON 24 DEC 2014, THE SAME ISSUES BEGAN TO OCCUR AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED WITH THE SAME DIAGNOSTIC CODE. CAR WILL BE TAKEN IN ON 26 DEC 2014 FOR SERVICE. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, WHEN I PUT IT INTO DRIVE, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. DID THIS 4 TIMES BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO KEEP IT GOING. GOT DOWN THE ROAD, AND WHEN I STOPPED AT THE STOP SIGN, ENGINE QUIT AGAIN. ALSO JEEP WOULD NOT GO INTO DRIVE IT WAS STUCK IN NEUTRAL. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, JEEP WENT INTO DRIVE. FROM THERE EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE STOPPED THE ENGINE WOULD STALL. IN SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE JEEP WOULD COMPLETELY TURN OFF AT RED LIGHTS OR AFTER COMPLETE STOPS. I TOOK THE JEEP TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 DIFFERENT TIMES AND WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG. ON FRIDAY 11/14/14 I WAS GOING 60 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE JEEP SUDDENLY LOST SPEED AND IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF/STALLED, I LOST STEERING POWER. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET OUT OF THE TRAFFIC. THE JEEP DID NOT TURN BACK ON UNTIL 45 MINUTES LATER AS I WAITED FOR THE TOW TRUCK. I WAS AGAIN TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE COMPUTER DIAGNOSIS IS NOT DETECTING ANY MALFUNCTION, REALLY??? *TR
THE AIR BAG LIGHT SHOULD GO OFF AFTER 5 SEC AFTER STARTING MY 2013 JEEP WRANGLER, THE LIGHT NOW HAS BEEN STAYING ON AND DOESN'T GO OFF, AND IF IT DOES GO OFF, IT HAS BEEN COMING BACK ON ALL THE TIME ON A REGULAR BASES, AND WILL NOT GO OFF.

WHILE DRIVING MY 2013 JEEP WRANGLER, AT CRUISING SPEED OF 45 MPH, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL STARTED FLASHING RANDOM EMERGENCY ICONS. THIS FLASHING OF THE VEHICLES CLUSTER ALONG WITH SPEEDOMETER AND RPM GAUGE MOVING ERRATICALLY CONTINUED FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES UNTIL IT STOPPED AND ONLY THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT REMAINED ON. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, WHICH SEEMED TO FIX THE ISSUE BECAUSE THE TRACTION LIGHT TURNED OFF AND EVERYTHING SEEMED TO BE WORKING. THIS IS THE FIRST INCIDENT IN WHICH THE LIGHTS FLASH CONTINUOUSLY FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, PRIOR INCIDENTS HAD ONLY FLASHED THE CLUSTER LIGHTS A COUPLE OF TIMES AND THEN THEY WENT BACK TO NORMAL. MY WIFE AND I HAD JUST LEFT A LOCAL BUSINESS MID-DAY ON A WARM DRY SUMMER DAY. WAS LESS THAN A BLOCK AWAY AND TRAVELING SLOWLY AT APPROX 20 MPH. APPLIED BRAKE AS WE ROLLED UP TO A STOP SIGN. ENGINE STARTED TO INCREASE RPM ON ITS OWN REQUIRING EVERMORE INCREASING BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE IN AN ATTEMPT TO COME TO A STOP. STANDING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL ENGINE RPM REACHED 2500. I PUT THE GEAR SELECT INTO NEUTRAL. THE BRAKES GRABBED, THE ENGINE RPM SHOT UP AND RETURNED TO STANDARD IDLE. I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND CAR BEHAVED NORMAL AFTER THAT. THIS HAS OCCURRED APPROX 6 TIMES OVER PAST YEAR. TOOK IT TO DEALER TWICE WITH NO RESOLUTION. FLOOR MATS SECURE AND LOCKED DOWN. I DRIVE RIGHT FOOT ONLY AND BRAKE CLEANLY AND SQUARE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS ONLY OCCURS AT LOW SPEED, WHEN ENGINE IS WARM, AND EVEN SQUEALED THE TIRES ( BURNED RUBBER ) ONCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER PROVIDED SEVERAL REPAIRS AND THE FAILURES RECURRED. ALSO, THE RIGHT FRONT ABS SENSOR WAS REPLACED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE STEERING PUMP TWICE, THE DYNAMIC SENSOR DUE TO THE TRACTION CONTROL SENSOR ILLUMINATING. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING OVER 55 MPH, AN ABNORMAL NOISE EMITTED FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO REPLACED THE SEALS AND AFTER THE REPAIR WATER LEAKED ON THE FRONT PASSENGERS SIDE. THE LEFT SIDE VALVES HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO A TICKING NOISE AND TWO MONTHS LATER THE RIGHT SIDE VALVE WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.

SOON AFTERWARDS HAD MOISTURE PROBLEMS DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED TOOK JEEP IN SEVERAL TIMES AND I HAVE NEVER TAKEN TOP OFF BUT I DID TAKE T TOP OFF TWICE, BUT THE AMOUNT OF MOISTURE IS OVERWHELMING THAT LESS THEN A YEAR I HAVE MOLD, MILDEW AND PUDDLES OF WATER THAT THE DEALERSHIP USED A SUBSTANCE TO COVER FLOOR ON PASSENGER SIDE. SEAT BELT SIGNAL PROMPT WON'T STOP BLINKING AND MAKING DING DING NOISE. ON 20 APRIL DEALERSHIP IN OLYMPIA WASHINGTON REFUSES SERVICE TO CHECK NOW ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. IMPOSSIBLE TO GET AN APPOINTMENT MILEAGE ON JEEP IS 8000 OR LESS MILES IN 4 YEARS DUE TO PROBLEMS OR IN SHOP.
