The contact stated that moments later, while driving, the crack expanded to approximately 12-inches towards the driver’s side. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 22,000.
Rear window defrost The defrost mechanism has become detached on most Jeeps making it unable to defrost the rear window for visability. has Not inspected by manufacturer or any other rep. No warning prior to failure 7/28/25 When I was trying to defrost my window due to fog.

Rear defrost connector comes unsoldered. My car is a 2022 with less than 12,000 miles on it. I basically drive it during the summer months when going to the lake. I bought the car brand new as a special order and received it in march 2022. I went to use my rear defrost, for probably the first time since owning my car, and it wouldn’t work. I took it to the dealer to have the defrost fixed- but now I’m being told it’s not covered, as windows are only covered for 12 months or 12,000 miles. It’s not my window- it’s the defrost! From a simple online search I can see that MANY people are experiencing this SAME issue! A car that is less than 2 years old and has about 11,500 miles on it, should t have an issue with defrost working!
