WHILE DRIVING IT ACTS LIKE ITS NOT GETTING FUEL SO I TOOK IT TO THE PARTS STORE THEY PUT A CODE READER ON IT I HAVE THE PRINT OUT IM ATTACHING BUT ITS VERY DANGEROUS IT JUST LOSES ALL POWER ESPECIALLY IF U PULL OUTTO GET OUT OF SOMEWHERE IVE ALMOST GOTTEN HIT 6 TIMES NOW CUZ OF IT I WAS PULLING OUT OF MY ROAD TURNING ON TO A MAJOR HIGHWAY N IT DIDNT STALL BUT ITS LIKE IT WASNT GETTING GAS AT ALL N THE CAR WAS AT A STOP N TAKING OFF TO PULL OUT IT ALSO DOES IT MID GEARS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD GREAT CAR BUT ISSUE COULD COST SOMEONE THERE LIFE OR TO BE SERIOSLY HURT FOR LIFE THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED IM 41 & IVE DROVE ALL KINDS OF MESSED UP CARS IN MY PAST BUT THIS IS THE 1ST TIME IVECAME ACROSS THIS KIND OF ISSUE WHERE CONTACTING THE DEALERSHIP DOESNT FIX IT N ITS NOT THE CAR OWNERS FAULT THIS IS BAD WIRING UNDER THE THROTTLE POSITION ACTUATOR SYSTEM N A VERY RXPENSIVE PROBLEM TO FIND & REPAIR N NOT DO TO WEAR N TEAR OF THE VEHICLE SO GAR ITS COSTED ME OVER $500 JUST TO TRACK DOWN THE PROBLEM IM NOTPUTTING NO MORE $ INTO THISCAR IT WAS A GIFT FOR MY SONS BDAY B4 MY MOM PASSED THIS YEAR SHE BOUGHT IT NEW N THEN GAVE TO ME SHE LOVED THIS CAR IT MAKES ME SAD TO HAVE TO REMOVE IT FROM THE ROAD BUT I FEEL AS A MOM ITS BETTER THIS WAY THAN TO LOSE SOMEONE I LOVE CUZ OF IT I WOULD SUE THE HELL OUT OF KIA N WIN THERES PROBLEMS WITH THIS IT NEEDS TO B RESOLVED ASAP
MY BATTERY KEEPS DRAINING. IM HAVING AN ISSUE KEEPING IT RUNNING OR EVEN STARTING IT UP. MAY BE HAVING STARTER ISSUES. ALSO MY AIR CONDITIONER AND HEATER ARE NOT COMING ON. RADIATOR PROBLEMS.
I THINK THE RADIO ISOTOPE ELECTRIC GENERATOR WAS REMOVED FROM THE CAR. THE HEAT AND AIR CONDITIONER WERE NOT KICKING ON AND IT ALSO CAUSED THE BATTERY TO DIE. WE THOUGHT IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR. I DIDNT KNOW IT WAS ELECTRIC. ALSO THE CO2 AND YEAR GAS WERE REMOVED AND NOT SURE IF ANY FIREARMS WERE. THIS WAS 'THE BEAST' I BELIEVE. I RECEIVED A CALL FROM "MIKE" HE MENTIONED I SHOULD ADD IT TO MY CURRENT INSURANCE PLAN BUT I TOLD HIM I ONLY HAD OBAMACARE. GET MY DIAMOND JUBILEE BACK PLEASE!
ADMINISTRATION ON 6/26/20 A DEALERSHIP MADE A TENATIVE SALE ON A USEC 2005 VEHICLE INTENTIONALLY DECIEVING POTENTIAL BUYER. VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AS IT MADE MISFIRE AND THE FLUIDS IN VEHICLE WERE ALL MISSING FROM EACH TANK. THE SALESMAN DENIED ME THE RIGHT TO TEST DRIVE OR OPPORTUNITY TO REPLENISH MISSING FLUIDS,ADVISING VEHICLE IS AS-IS. I EXPLAINED I DROVE 60 MILES ONE WAY AND WAS NOT TOLD THE VEHICLE WAS AS -IS OR IN SUCH TERRIBLE CONDITION. MANAGER REFUSED TO ASSIST ME OR SPEAK WITH ME AS I WOULD COMPLAIN. THE SALESMAN SAID,"TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT"!!! I PURCHASED MY KIA FROM JD BYRIDER IN 2016 OF JULY AND I HAVE HAD A REAL DEAL WITH THIS CAR. IN THE PASS 4 YEARS WITH THIS CAR I HAVE POURED MORE THAN $5,000 INTO THIS CAR INTO IT. EVERY TIME YOU GET THIS CAR FIXED IT HAS A NEW PROBLEM ABOUT 1 MONTH LATER OR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. BUT RECENTLY MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HER MOTHER AND MY DAUGHTER AROUND SHOPPING ABOUT 10 MILES IN DISTANCE FROM THE HOUSE THE MALL AND DRIVING STORE TO STORE. IT WAS 93 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND SHE HAD THE A/C RUNNING AND SUDDENLY THE CAR STARTED TO HAVE SUDDEN ACCELERATION SHE TRIED TO STOP THE CAR AND IT DID NOT STOP THE ENGINE KEEP REVVING UP HARDER HARDER AND HARDER. AT THIS POINT SHE WAS ABLE TO TURN BACK INTO THE PARKING LOT AFTER GETTING OFF THE MAIN RODE. THIS CAR IS A DANGER TO PEOPLE DRIVING IT AND OTHERS NEAR THIS CAR SHOULD NOT BE ON THE STREET I REPEAT THIS CAR SHOULD NOT BE ON THE STREET. I AM GLAD MY FAMILY IS SAFE BUT I WILL TRADING THIS CAR IN SOON AND I HOPE THE RIP IT UP AND TEAR IT TO PIECES FOR PARTS BECAUSE IT COULD HAVE ENDED MY FAMILIES LIFE. FOR ME AND MY OTHER LOVE ONES TO VERY SEE THEM AGAIN. GET THIS CAR OFF THE RODE PLEASE. I READ ABOUT RECALL ON 2007 KIA AMANTI AND THE STOP LAMP SWITCH. IT SAID COULD MAKE IT HARD SHIFT FROM PARK TO GEARS. I OWN A 2005 KIA AMANTI AND YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AFTER DRIVING SEVERAL HOURS WITH NO PROBLEMS, I STARTED IT OUT IN REVERSE IT WAS A SEMI HARD SHIFT THEN PUT INTO DRIVE AND IT WAS A EXTREMELY HARD SHIFT. AS WELL THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I ALSO READ ABOUT A SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT CAN BE DONE BUT CAN NOT FIND HOW TO PREFORM THE UPDATE.
IT BEGAN WITH SQUEAKY NOISE STEERING IT ENDED WITH STEERING COMPLETELY LOCKED UP UNDRIVABLE. MECHANIC SAID HE SAW THAT ALOT IN THAT YEAR MODEL. REPLACED THE STEERING PUMP WORKED OK FOR 6 MONTHS OR SO & THE SAME THING. HAD TO TOW IT. MECHANIC SAID NEEDED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE RANK & PINION & THAT IT MAY OR MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM . HE DID SOME KIND OF ADJUSTMENT CHARGED ME $250 & I WAS ABLE TO STEER. 6 MONTHS DOWN THE ROAD ITS DOING THE SAME THING ESP LIGHT COMES ON A DRAGGING NOISE& TROUBLES STEERING. I NOTICE IT MORE MANEUVERING TO PARK IN A SPACE... *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA AMANTI. WHILE TURNING THE VEHICLE, AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD UNDER THE VEHICLE AND IT FAILED TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CENTER PIECE OF THE FRONT AXLE FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
IN A PARKING LOT WHILE AUTO WAS IN STATIONARY POSITION WAITING FOR THE LOT MACHINE TO ISSUE A TICKET ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR MOVED FORWARD WITHOUT ME PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. PERHAPS WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL. SECOND OCCURRENCE, FIRST NOT REPORTED. UNKNOWN WHY THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION OCCURED
THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT SUB FRAME IS SEVERELY CRACKED AND ROTTING AWAY. ATTEMPTING TO CLEAN UNCOVERS ROAD FILTH AND ROCKS. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS METAL QUALITY DEFECT.
THE STEERING IS LOCKING UP OR BECOMES VERY HARD TO TURN WHEN DRIVING LIKE OLDER DAYS WITHOUT POWER STEERING
THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL CANE OFF. WHILE DRIVING.THEY SAID THAT THEY CAN NOT FIX IT BECAUSE THE FRAME IS RUSTY AND ROTTEN. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED SAME SIDE AND WHEEL. THIS HAPPENED ON A CITY STREET BOTH TIMES. AFTER THEY FIX IT THE FIRST TIME AND$ 799.76 , THEY COULD HAVE TOLD ME WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. THEN.THE CAR WAS IN MOTION..
EVER SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE CAR, THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON AND DOES NOT GO OFF UNTIL THE CAR IS OFF. THE RPM GAGE HAS ALWAYS BEEN ERRATIC WHEN DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS. THE CAR LURCHES FORWARD WHEN AT A STOP LIGHT AND WHILE ACCELERATING. THE ENGINE SMELLS AS IF WIRES ARE BURNING AND IT SEEMS INCREASINGLY HOT, BUT THE GAGE STAYS NORMAL. THE GAS TANK CANNOT BE FILLED QUICKLY, I HAVE TO TRICKLE GAS INTO THE TANK BRAKE PADS WEAR DOWN CONSTANTLY. I HAVE ALREADY FILED A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH BEING DEFECTIVE AND THIS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED.
I BEGAN TO NOTICE THAT MY CAR WAS" JUMPING" AT STOP LIGHTS ON A CITY STREET; AS IF IT WANTED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE BRAKE WAS PUSHED. I WENT TO START IT ONE EVENING AND THE BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. I GOT A JUMP AND THEN NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD NOT TURN OFF. I HAD A FRIEND CHECK THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH THE FOLLOWING DAY AND HE STATED THAT THE SWITCH WAS SO LOOSE THAT IT FELL INTO HIS HAND. HE TIGHTENED THE SWITCH SO I COULD TRY AND PUT A CHARGE ON THE BATTERY. I GOT THE CAR STARTED BUT THE BATTERY WOULD NOT HOLD A CHARGE, I INSTALLED A NEW BATTERY AND THE CAR STILL FEELS AS THOUGH IT WANTS TO ACCELERATE WHEN PRESSING BRAKE TO STOP. SINCE THEN, I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE DOOR AJAR AND TRUNK OPEN LIGHTS DO NOT WORK AS WELL AS THE INTERIOR COURTESY LIGHTS WHEN THE DOOR IS OPENED. I HAVE ALSO HAD PROBLEMS IN THE PAST WITH NOT BEING ABLE TO GET THE CAR OUT OF PARK. I HAVE REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH AS WELL AS OTHER COMPONENTS. I HAD ISSUES WITH THE DIMMER SWITCH WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE LEFT ON AUTO, AND I USE THE FOB TO LOCK THE DOORS; IF I DO NOT TURN THE LIGHTS OFF MANUALLY; THE LIGHTS FLASH UNTIL THE BATTERY DIES. AFTER THE LAST ISSUE WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH, I ALSO CAN NOT OPEN THE TRUNK WITH FOB, I CAN ONLY OPEN WITH THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND SET TO ON POSITION. IT CAN NOT BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE AS WELL. WHEN IT IS COLD OUTSIDE, BELOW 40 DEGREES, THE RADIO SCANS AND WILL NOT STOP. THE CD WILL ONLY WORK IF ONLY ONE DISC IS INSERTED.
I HAD A SIDE IMPACT, TBONE WITH A KIA SOUL WHOM HIT ME IN THE SIDE. NEITHER HIS AIEBAGS OE MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED
BOUGHT THIS CAR USED IN DECEMBER 2017 AND WITHIN THE FIRST WEEKS OF DRIVING IT NOTICED ERRATIC PROBLEMS WHEN DRIVING OVER 40MPH. ON THE HIGHWAY IT HAS PROBLEMS FREQUENTLY WITH INCREASING SPEED WHEN ACCELERATED, ESPECIALLY ON AN UPHILL INCLINE, AND WHEN I'M STOPPED/ SITTING STILL, IT TRIES TO BACKFIRE. IF I'M DRIVING THE SPEED LIMIT AND HAVE TO SLOW DOWN DUE TO SPEED LIMIT CHANGE OR SLOWED VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME, WHEN I TRY TO PICK UP SPEED AGAIN THE RPMS WON'T GO UP ENOUGH TO DO SO; I CAN BE DOING 40 MPH AND FLOOR THE ACCELERATOR AND RPM STAYS AT 2000 UNTIL I THE CAR SUDDENLY DECIDES IT WANTS TO DRIVE, THEN RPM JUMPS UP TO AROUND 3200 RPM AND THE CAR PICKS UP SPEED AGAIN AND RPMS DROP BACK TO NORMAL AT 2500. ON UPHILL INCLINES, THE CAR STARTS LOSING SPEED WITHOUT BREAKING AND ACCELERATING DOESN'T INCREASE THAT SPEED. I'VE HAD IT IN TWO DIFFERENT SHIPS; ON REPLACED THE PLUGS (SAYING IT WAS MISSING), AND THE OTHER FOUND A BAD COIL THEY REPLACED. OOD THING IS THAT AFTER EACH REPAIR, THE CAR BEHAVES AND DRIVES GOOD FOR A WEEK OR SO, THEN THE SAME PROBLEMS OCCUR AGAIN. ENGINE LIGHT HASN'T COME ON AT ALL, AND I QUESTION IF IT EVEN WORKS AS I DON'T EVEN SEE THE SYMBOL LIGHT UP WHEN I START THE CAR; I ONLY KNOW IT HAS ONE FROM SEEING THE SYMBOL WHEN THE SUNLIGHT SHINES DIRECTLY ONTO THAT GAUGE. MAYBE THAT'S BROKEN SO IT DOESN'T INDICATE THERE'S A PROBLEM; HECK IF I KNOW. THE SAFETY ISSUE HERE IS THAT HIGHWAY MINIMUM SPEED IS 45 MPH, SO WHEN VEHICLE LOSSES SPEED OR WON'T SPEED UP, OTHERS COULD RUN INTO ME NOR REALIZING HOW SLOW I'M GOING. REALLY STRANGE THAT EVEN THE REPAIR SHOPS DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT. I'VE KEPT CHECKING FOR A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM, BUT NONE HAD BEEN ISSUED. I'VE ALREADY SPENT $700 TRYING TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM AND TRULY CANNOT AFFORD TO CONTINUE TO POUR MONEY INTO THE CAR TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM JUST TO HAVE IT BE REOCCURRING/MISBEHAVING.

JUST 2DAYS AGO MY CAR STARTED JERKING REAL BAD AND ALSO MY TRANSMISSION FELT LIKE IT WAS STALLING AND THE CAR WAS LOOSING ACCELERATION POWER.THEN AFTER A SHORT HESITATION THE VEHICLE,WHILE BACKING IN THE DRIVEWAY ACCELERATED AND WAS HARD TO STOP.TODAY I NOTICED A SMALL TREMBLE IN THE TRANSMISSION AND MY CAR ALMOST WENT IN TRAFFIC IF I HAD'NT PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND APPLIED FORCE TO THE BRAKES,MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON BOTH INCIDENTS,I'M NOT AFRAID OF MY VEHICLE, BUT I DON'T WANT TO CAUSE OR BE IN AN ACCIDENT.
AIR BAG LIGHT HAS TO BE CONTINUALLY RESET, PARTS HAD TO BE REPLACED SOME SPRING. LIGHT NOW IS BACK ON HAD IT IN AGAIN AND NOW SAYING AIRBAG IS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
MY AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON 4/19/2016 AND HAVE BEEN ON SINCE THEN. I ONLY HAD MY CAR ONE MONTH I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT NOR HAVE MY CAR EVERY BEEN IN AN IMPACT I HAD IT LOOK AT BY A MERCHANIC AND HE SAID THAT'S DANGEROUS AND CAN POP OUT AT ANY TIME SO I SHOULD HAVE IT FIX AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THIS CAR SHOULD BE ON THE RECALL LIST!!!

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT REMAINED FOR THIRTY DAYS FOR INVESTIGATION. THE ECM WAS REPLACED. A FEW WEEKS AFTER THE REPAIR, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE REPLACEMENT PART WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED FOR THE SECOND TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,814.
ON MARCH 20TH I WHEN I TERN ON MY KIA AMANTI 2005 I SAW THE AIR BAG LIGHT GOT ON. I NEVER HAD ANY ACCIDENT ON MY CAR.PLEASE SOLVE THIS ISSUE S SOON AS POSSIBLE. *TR

ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR BRAKES FAILED TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
ENGINE LOSES POWER AS THOUGH ACCELERATOR CABLE BROKE, ALSO ON START UP CAR OFTEN LURCHES FORWARD AS IF IN GEAR. TOOK CAR TO KIA TODAY AND THEY STATE IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THEIR ELECTRONIC ACCELERATOR HOSE, THE HOUSING THAT CONNECTS IT TO THE ENGINE MELTS AND IS NO LONGER CLIPPED TO THE ENGINE OFTEN CAUSING POWER LOSS BECAUSE THE CONNECTION IS TENUOUS. THE ONLY FIX THEY SAID WOULD BE TO REPLACE THE PART, BUT THE CHEAP PLASTIC THEY USE WILL STILL MELT AND BREAK OFF, CAUSING ANOTHER REPLACEMENT NEEDED IN THE FUTURE. *JS

SINCE PURCHASING MY 2005 KIA AMANTI AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON; THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER EXPERIENCED AN IMPACT WHICH WOULD CAUSE THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY NEITHER HAVE ANY OF THE AIRBAG COMPONENTS EVER BEEN TAMPERED WITH. THE THROTTLE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE IS EXTREMELY SPORADIC AND OFTEN CAUSES HESITATION, LURCHING, NO ACCELERATION, AND EVEN LOSS OF ALL POWER. I HAVE HAD THE DEALERSHIP UPDATE THE ECM AND THE TPS REPLACE BUT THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTED. I NOTICED THE THROTTLE BODY PLATE WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO ACTUATE SO I THEN PURCHASED ANOTHER THROTTLE BODY AND REPLACED MY OLDER ONE. EVERYTHING FUNCTIONED AS SHOULD BE EXPECTED UP UNTIL APPROX. 3 MONTHS AGO THE ISSUES STARTED BACK UP AGAIN. I NOTICED THE THROTTLE BODY MOTOR HAD STARTED TO BECOME INCREASINGLY HOT TO THE TOUCH INDICATING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF RESISTANCE WITHIN THE MOTOR CIRCUIT. BEING THAT THE PROBLEM IS RECURRING, I FEEL THE ISSUE IS LOCATED EITHER WITHIN THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS OR THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE AND IT, AS WELL AS THE RUINED THROTTLE BODY MOTOR, NEED REPLACED AT THE COST OF THE KIA MOTOR COMPANY. THE ISSUE CAN, AND HAS, CAUSED NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS, STALLING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AS WELL AS LURCHING AND SPEEDING AWAY OF VEHICLES. A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE IS PRESENT AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.

SUDDEN ACCELERATION. I WAS PULLING MY KIA AMANTI (WHICH I LOVE) INTO A PARKING STALL IN A VERY CROWDED SUPERMARKET PARKING LOT. I WAS BRAKING TO STOP WHEN MY CAR ACCELERATED. I DID NOT NOTICE THE RPMS. BUT IT ACCELERATED HARD, AND MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE DID NOT STOP IT. I PLOWED INTO THE BACK OF A VEHICLE IN THE OPPOSITE STALL PUSHING IT APPROX 10 FEET BEFORE MY CAR ALSO HIT 10" CEMENT POLE THAT WAS THERE TO PROTECT A POWERPLANT (I THINK) AT THE EDGE OF THE PARKING STRIP. THE POLE STOPPED MY CAR. THERE WAS A COUPLE IN THE CAR I HIT AND A PASSENGER IN MY CAR; EVERYONE WAS BADLY SHAKEN, BUT NOBODY WAS HURT. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CAR. HOWEVER, I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT MOST OF THE TIME DO TO INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS WITH ACCELERATION. AT TIMES, WHEN I STEP DOWN ON THE GAS NOTHING HAPPENS, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR TAKES OFF LIKE A RABBIT. ON A TRIP TO SOUTH DAKOTA, AFTER USING THE BLINKER TO CHANGE LANES, THE BLINKERS WENT CRAZY, BOTH ON AT THE SAME TIME, THEN FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER, I COULDN'T GET THEM TO STOP AND THE ESC LIGHT WAS FLASHING. I PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND ALL WAS GOOD ,FOR A FEW MORE MILES ANYWAY. I HAD TO DO THIS SEVERAL TIMES ON MY WAY HOME. THIS WAS SCARY AS I WAS 1500 MILES FROM HOME. HAVEN'T HAD THAT ISSUE SINCE AND THAT WAS 4 MONTHS AGO (NO ENGINE LIGHT FOR CODES AT THIS POINT). NOW, ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR IS RUNNING LIKE CRAP. SUDDEN ACCELERATION. I WAS SLOWING FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT I EXPECTED TO TURN RED. I HAD MY FOOT ON THE FLOOR BOARDS, AWAY FROM THE ACCELERATOR, LETTING THE CARE SLOW BY ITSELF. THE LIGHT DID TURN RED AND I HAD TO APPLY THE BRAKES. I KEEP MY LEFT FOOT TO THE LEFT OF THE BRAKES ON THE FLOOR BOARD. HOWEVER ON 5/7/12 THE PROBLEM RETURNED- WORSE THAN EVER BEFORE THE CAR FINALLY STOPPED TACHOMETER READING WAS 4700 RPM. DOCTORS OFTEN ASK PATIENTS TO RATE PAIN OPEN A SCALE OF 1-10. THIS INCIDENT WOULD RATE AN 8. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL BEFORE MORE PEOPLE EXPERIENCE THIS AND COULD KILL PEOPLE.OR A BUYBACK FOR WHAT THE BUYER PAID INCLUDING ALL LOAN FEES AND INTEREST.. WHEN THE SENSOR MALFUNCTIONED, A WARNING LIGHT DISPLAYED ON THE DASHBOARD STATING "AIRBAG". THE CONSUMER STATED THE FIRST TIME THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE DEALER FOUND A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING COLUMN. THE REMEDY LASTED FOR A SHORT TIME. THE SECOND TIME, THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE PROBLEM WAS A DEFECTIVE SENSOR WHICH WAS LOCATED IN THE BOTTOM OF THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT CONTROLLED THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAGS AND THE SIDE AIR BAGS. THE CONSUMER STATED KIA SENT HIM A LETTER OUTLINING THE RESTRICTIONS AND CONSTRAINTS REGARDING THE USE OF THE AIR BAG SYSTEM AND HOW IT CAN MALFUNCTION. *JB

AS I PULLED UP TO PARK MY CAR BEHIND A PARKED CAR, MY CAR SURGED AND CRASHED INTO THE BACK OF THE PARKED CAR. I WAS EASING INTO THE SPACE AT A VERY SLOW SPEED AND ACTUALLY HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF AN INCIDENT LIKE THIS WITH THE AMANTI. THERE ARE MANY REPORTS OF THESE UNEXPLAINED ACCELERATION INCIDENTS WITH THE KIA AMANTI ONLINE. HOPEFULLY THESE PEOPLE ARE REPORTING THEM TO YOU. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE TRYING TO STOP AT A CROSSWALK FOR PEDESTRIANS, SOMEONE WOULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. INCIDENT 1: WHILE DRIVING AT 60MPH ON AN INTERSTATE THE CARS SPEED REDUCED TO <10 MPH THEN STALLED FOLLOWED A SUDDEN ACCELERATION. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM BUT SUGGESTED THAT IT WAS THE COMPUTER. COMPUTER REPLACED PROBLEM PERSIST....INCIDENT 2:(1 MONTH LATER)UPON INITIAL ACCELERATION, THE ENGINE STALLED AND OPERATED AT A REDUCED SPEED FOLLOWED BY SUDDEN ACCELERATION WITHOUT WARNING INTO TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM BUT SUGGESTED THAT IT MIGHT BE THE THROTTLE MOTOR. THROTTLE MOTOR REPLACED BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALERTED ON BOTH OCCASIONS. NOW I AM DEADLY AFRAID OF DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. *TR

THIS PROBLEM ONLY OCCURS ONCE OR TWICE A MONTH, SO IT IS NOT SURPRISING THAT THE MECHANIC COULD NOT REPLICATE IT. THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT KIA WILL NOT LET THEM DO ANY REPAIRS UNLESS THEY CAN DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I VERIFIED THIS TALKING TO KIA FACTORY CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE.
