Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)KUMHO RADIAL TIRE ON THE BACK (PASSENGER SIDE) OF A 2007 KIA OPTIMA FAILED AT APPROXMIATELY 70 MPH. THE STEEL BELTS IN THE TIRE BROKE AND THE TIRE TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE WALLS. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE TREAT ITSELF, AND THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE THAT ANYTHING OTHER THAN STRUCTURAL FAILURE (SUCH AS A FOREIGN OBJECT) WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TIRE'S FAILURE. *NM
I HAVE APPROXIMATELY 13,800 MILES ON THIS CAR (KIA, OPTIMA, LX, 2006), AND THE TIRES (4) HAVE BEEN CHANGED ALREADY. THE TIRES SOUND HOLLOW, AND PING, BESIDES PULLING TO RIGHT AND LEFT. THE SECOND SET ARE DOING THE SAME THING. I THINK AND FELL THAT KIA SHOULD BE INVOLVED IN THIS PROBLEM, BUT THEY SAY ITS NOT THERE PROBLEM. THESE TIRES ARE ON A KIA? *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS ON PAVED ROADS, THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE HAD A SEVERE VIBRATION AND MADE A ROARING NOISE. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED BOTH FRONT TIRES WERE EXCESSIVELY WORN AND THE TREAD WAS SEPARATING. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. THE TIRES WERE HANKOOK, OPTIMO P205/60R16, DOT #T7BKBWH. *AK
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
