THERE IS AN OPEN ENGINE RECALL CURRENTLY, I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE RECALL FOR 10/9. ON FRIDAY OF 10/5 I WAS DRIVING DOWN I-95 SOUTH AND MY CAR STARTED TO SHAKE AND THE ENGINE AND OIL LIGHT CAME ON, I PLACED THE CAR IN NEUTRAL IN THE LANE AND I WAS ABLE TO PLACE THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND ROLE TO THE SHOULDER DUE TO ENGINE FAILURE. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP TUESDAY 10/9 TO THE LAUREL KIA LOCATED AT 14921 BALTIMORE AVENUE LAUREL, MD. JEREMY WAS THE SERVICE LEADER THAT I SPOKE WITH AND HE SUPPOSEDLY SERVICED MY CAR. AFTER GETTING MY CAR SERVICED ON 10/9 I HAD TO IMMEDIATELY RETURN THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN BECAUSE I HAD ENGINE FAILURE AGAIN AND MY CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING HOME. I WENT BACK AND JEREMY SAID THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG TO LET THE CAR RUN THEN DRIVE HOME. I MADE IT HOME THAT DAY BUT ON WEDNESDAY 10/10 MY CARE BROKE DOWN DUE TO ENGINE FAILURE AGAIN WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE THE ENGINE STALLED AND THE ENGINE BEGAN KNOCKING EXTREMELY LOUD. I ALMOST GOT INTO A ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS. THE CAR WAS TOWED ON 10/11 BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP SO THAT THE ENGINE CAN GET CHECKED. I HAVE GONE TO THE LAUREL KIA DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES TO HAVE THIS RECALL REPAIRED AND I AM STILL UNABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR EFFECTIVELY AND SAFELY ON THE ROAD DUE TO THE MANUFACTURERS ERROR. AND THE DEALERSHIP OF SERVICE IS UNWILLING TO CORRECT THIS RECALL ERROR.
MY HEADLIGHT BULBS BLEW FINALLY AFTER 5 YEARS BUT THE COVER TO CHANGE THEM IS STUCK! IT'S LIKE THEY ARE SUPER GLUED OR WELDED SHUT! I TRIED TO OPEN THE COVER AND TAKE IT OFF AND SO DID MY HUSBAND. WE WENT TO AUTOZONE AND A ACTUALLY KIA DEALERSHIP AND THEY CAN'T EVEN REMOVE IT! LIGHT ARE SUPER IMPORTANT AND ARE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE IF YOU CAN'T ACCESS YOUR HEADLIGHT BULBS WITHOUT THEM HAVING TO REMOVE YOUR FRONT END. KIA IS CHARGING ME 108.00 A HOUR SAYING THEY ARE GOING TO HAVE TO REMOVE THE FRONT PART OF MY OF MY CAR TO TRY TO REMOVE THE LIGHT COVER. PLEASE REVIEW THIS ISSUE!
CAR SPONTANEOUSLY CAUGHT ON FIRE RESULTING IN TOTAL LOSS. NO INJURY BUT DRIVER HAD TO JUMP OUT OF MOVING VEHICLE.

CRAIN KIA (5830 WARDEN ROAD, SHERWOOD, ARKANSAS 72120, (501) 542-6042) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DISABLED THE AIR BAG LIGHT; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V363000 (AIR BAGS) ON JULY 27, 2018. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 113,000.
THESE ENGINES CATCH ON FIRE AND I THINK I KNOW WHY AND HAVE VIDEO PROOF. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE.
I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT A REPAIR IS AVAILABLE AND BEEN APPROVED FOR THE KIA OPTIMA 2013 AIRBAG DEFECT. I CHECKED THE NHTSA WEBSITE AND IT STILL SAYS THE RECALL IS INCOMPLETE AND NO REPAIR IS AVAILABLE. I REQUESTED A LOANER VEHICLE FROM KIA A MONTH AGO AND THEY WERE VERY SLOW TO PROVIDE ONE JUST LETTING ME KNOW YESTERDAY THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO FIND A DEALER THAT HAS A LOANER/RENTAL PROGRAM OR OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE TO PURSHASE MY OWN RENTAL AND THEY WOULD REIMBURSE ME WHEN THE REPAIR BECAME AVAILABLE. TODAY WHEN I ASKED THEM FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT POLICY IN WRITING BEFORE I WENT OUT TO GET A RENTAL, THEY THEN TOLD ME A REPAIR JUST BECAME AVAILABLE AND FOR ME TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TO BE FIXED. BECAUSE OF THE RUN AROUND I GOT, I WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THE REPAIR IS LEGIT BEING ITS NOT SHOWING ON THE NHTSA SITE
VEHICLE CONTINUES TO RUN HOT AFTER REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS FROM A CERTIFIED KIA DEALER. ENGINE HAD BEEN REPLACED ONCE AND CONTINUES TO EXHIBIT THE SAME BEHAVIORS AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS AT RESOLVING THE ISSUE.
2013 KIA Optima Pearl White paint began chipping and flaking exposing bare metal to rust and corrosion.
MY CAR IS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY AT MY JOB. IT HAD BEEN PARKED THERE SINCE 2:50 PM. AT 11 PM I WENT OUTSIDE AFTER CLOCKING OUT AND IT WOULD NOT CRANK. HOWEVER, ALL MY LIGHTS IN THE INSIDE AND ON MY DASHBOARD REMAINED WORKING. UPON TRYING TO TURN OVER MY KEY, MY CAR WOULD MAKE A CLICKING SOUND. AFTER AB 10 MINUTES OTHER THINGS BEGAN TO FADE OUT SUCH AS MY LIGHTS. I ALSO COULD NOT USE MY REMOTE KEY ANYMORE TO LOCK OR UNLOCK MY DOORS. I ONLY HAD THIS CAR A MONTH, AND IT IS STILL IN THE CONDITION IT WAS BOUGHT IN. I'M NOT SURE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS OR WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THIS PROBLEM.
MY CAR BEGAN TO SMELL LIKE GAS WHEN DRIVING AND MY CAR STARTED JERKING, AND MAKING A WEIRD NOISE..SO I PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IT SMELLED LIKE FUEL THROUGH MY AIR VENTS WHILE DRIVING, AND WHEN I POPPED THE HOOD TO LOOK UNDER IT WITH MY BOYFRIEND THERE WAS A LEAK, AND IT WAS SPEWING OUT FUEL OUT OF THE PUMP. WHAT WAS THE SCARIEST PART ABOUT IT IS THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT OR ANY THING THAT TOLD ME THERE WAS A FUEL LEAK WE HAD TO FIND OUT FOR OURSELVES. I HAD CALLED KIA TO SEE IF THEY WOULD REPLACE IT BECAUSE IT BASICALLY WAS A BRAND NEW CAR WITH ONLY 60,000 MILES ON IT AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOT UNDER ORIGINAL WARRANTY SO THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR ME. I HAD TO BUY THE PART MYSELF WHICH COSTED ME AROUND 500 DOLLARS, THEN I HAD TO BUY A FUEL LINE WHICH WAS ANOTHER 50, THEN GET IT REPLACED WHICH COSTED ME ANOTHER 200. I WAS EXTREMELY UPSET BECAUSE IT WAS BASICALLY A BRAND NEW CAR DOING THIS.. AND I WANT TO BE REIMBURSED FOR MY TROUBLES. I WAS OUT OF WORK, COULDN'T DRIVE MY VEHICLE, AND HAD TO PAY FOR A PROBLEM THAT WAS NOT MY FAULT. IT WAS THE MANUFACTURES FAULT. I AM GLAD I CAUGHT IT WHEN I DID AND PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BECAUSE MY CAR BOYFRIEND AND I COULD HAVE BURSTED INTO FLAMES. I AM EXTREMELY UPSET. I AM NEVER BUYING ANOTHER KIA AGAIN UNLESS THEY REIMBURSE ME FOR THE TROUBLES THEY HAVE CAUSED ME AND MANY OTHERS. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE MY KIA NOW KNOWING THAT ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN TO IT, OR THAT MY FUEL PUMP MAY GO OUT ANOTHER TIME. THE ENGINE IS DEFINITELY FAULTY AND IT HAS CAUSED ME AND MY BOYFRIEND FEAR, AND ANXIETY. WE ARE SCARED TO SEE WHAT MAY HAPPEN NEXT.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE EXPRESSWAY MY CAR STALLED AND THEN CAUGHT FIRE WITH NO WARNING AT ALL, AS I PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE EXPRESSWAY I SEEN SMOKE AND THEN FLAMES WHILE CAR WAS TOTAL LOSS.
WHILE DIVING MY 2013 KIA OPTIMA SX. ALL THE LIGHTS IN THE DASH STATED FLASHING WHILE DRIVING I PULLED OVER ON THE HIGHWAY MY DAUGHTER AND I SEEN SMOKE COME FROM THE HOOD OF THE CAR AND I THEN SEEN A REFLECTION ON THE GROUND IT WAS 9PM AT NIGHT. THAT'S WHEN MY DAUGHTER AND I WALKED AS FAR AS WE COULD ON THE HWY AND CALLED THE POLICE. I HAVE CALLED KIA NATIONAL FILED A COMPLAINT I HEARD FROM SOMEONE ONCE AND HAVENT HEARD FROM ANYONE ELSE SINCE. THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON SEPTEMBER 29, 2018.
MY 2013 KIA OPTIMA DISPLAYED SEVERAL ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH RADIO PANEL, WARNING LIGHTS ON DASH, SEAT BELT WARNING ON WHILE BUCKLED AND DRIVING, AND DOORS WOULD LOCK ON THEIR OWN WEEKS PRIOR TO THE CAR GIVING OUT ON ME AFTER A QUARTER OF A MILE DRIVE. IT WOULD NOT START AT ALL. MECHANIC THOUGHT IT WAS A STARTER ISSUE BUT TURNED OUT THAT THE ENGINE LOCKED. I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2015 AND HAD SOME FUEL SYSTEM ISSUE A YEAR AFTER PURCHASE , COSTING OVER $900 TO REPAIR. NOW THIS...THERE WAS NO SMOKE OR OTHER WARNINGS RIGHT BEFORE IT STOPPED. I HAD NOTICED THE SMELL OF WIRES OR SOME TYPE OF ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS BURNING AFTER DRIVING THE CAR A FEW TIMES OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS BUT WASN'T SURE OF WHERE IT MAY HAVE BEEN COMING FROM. WOULD BE GREAT IF I DIDN'T HAVE TO SPEND A LUMP SUM TO REPAIR MOTOR WHILE STILL PAYING OFF THE CAR!

THE CONTACT HEARD A POPPING SOUND AND THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY BURST INTO FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD AND DEEMED DESTROYED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE MATTER WOULD BE INVESTIGATED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT CALLED BACK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 124,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A FUEL ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO SOUTHSIDE KIA (9401 ATLANTIC BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32225, (904) 406-7779) THREE TIMES TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000.
MY 2013 KIA OPTIMA CAUGHT ON FIRE JUST SHORT OF DRIVING IT FOR ABOUT 15-20 MIN ON 9/23/18. WE GOT NO WARNING ON THE DASHBOARD WE HEARD A LIGHT POP NOISE, THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF WHEN WE GOT OFF THERE WAS FIRE COMING OUT FROM THE HOOD THAT FASTLY SPREAD THROUGHT OUT UP TO THE WHOLE FRONT OF THE CAR DESTROYING THE WHOLE ENGINE. THE CAR NEVER HAD ANY MECHANICAL ISSUES. WE HAD JUST DRIVEN FROM AZ TO CA THE NIGHT BEFORE WITH NO PROBLEMS. I STILL HAVE NO EXPLANATION WHY MY 5 YEAR OLD CAR WITH JUST A LITTLE OVER 86K MILES CAUGHT ON FIRE.
MY CAR (KIA OPTIMA 2013) WAS PART OF THE RECALL IN 2017 AND IN DECEMBER 2017 MY CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP ON A VERY BUSY FREEWAY IN CALIFORNIA. I HAD MY CAR TOW TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY REPLACED MY ENGINE BECAUSE IT WAS PART OF THE RECALL. 9 MOS LATER SEPTEMBER 16TH 2018 MY FIANCEE WAS DRIVING DOWN A HILL ON A CALIFORNIA FREEWAY AND HE HAD NO BRAKES AND OTHER DRIVERS WERE HONKING AND YELLING YOUR CAR IS ON FIRE. HE USED THE EMERGENCY BRAKES TO TRY AND SLOW DOWN TO EXIT THE FREEWAY HE WAS PICKING UP SPEED BECAUSE HE WAS GOING DOWN HILL THE CAR WAS WAS STARTING TO FILL UP WITH SMOKE. HE WAS HOPING THE WINDOWS WOULD GO DOWN AND THEY DID HE START EXITING FREEWAY PUSHING ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE SLOWING DOWN APPROACHING A CURB TURNING THE WHEEL TOWARDS THE CURB STILL ROLLING HE JUMPS OUT OFT THE CAR RUNNING AWAY FROM VEHICLE. JUST SECONDS AFTER HE GETS OUT HE SAID THE CAR JUST WAS IN FLAMES BURNING FROM THE ENGINE TIRES POPPING AND WINDOWS BREAKING OUT. THE CAR HAS ONLY 8,000 MILES ON NEW MOTOR THE WHOLE CAR HAD 108,000 THE WAS A 2013 5 YEARS OLD
ON SEPTEMBER 16, 2018 AT APPROXIMATELY 930AM, WHILE ON DUTY AT WORK(CORRECTION OFFICER) MY KIA OPTIMA GDI 2013 WENT UP IN FLAMES IN THE PARKING LOT OF MY JOB.. I WAS NOT PRESENT AND THE VEHICLE. I HAD ALREADY BEEN ON DUTY 530AM THAT MORNING. ONCE I MADE IT TO THE SCENE MY CAR WAS COMPLETELY ALMOST BURNT TO THE GROUND. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT LABELED IT AS A ELECTRICAL FIRE, WHICH CAUSED THE CAR THE BURN FROM THE INSIDE OUT, STARTING FROM THE ENGINE. I HAD SEVERAL PERSONAL ITEMS OF MINE BURNT IN THE FIRE AND ALSO WORK EQUIPMENT THAT WAS LOST IN THE FIRE. SINCE THE INCIDENT I'VE SUFFERED MENTAL, EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL DISTRESS. I'M A SINGLE MOTHER AND I DEPENDED ON MY CAR TO GET ME WHERE I NEEDED TO GO. THINGS HAVE BEEN VERY FRUSTRATING AND HARD. I'M SEEKING HELP FROM KIA MOTORS. *TR

THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW FELL DOWN INTO THE DOOR . WHEN THE DEALERSHIP REMOVED THE DOOR TO LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENED THEY FOUND WHERE THE PLASTIC WHEEL AND WIRES THAT HELP THE WINDOW GO UP AND DOWN HAD BROKE THEY FELT IT WAS A MALFUNCTION VERY COSTLY TO REPLACE

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED NOT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE FUEL PUMP WAS LEAKING FUEL AND COULD CAUSE A FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,000.

THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER (COAST TO COAST MOTORS, 8102 E 11TH ST, TULSA, OK 74112, (918) 832-9000) AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD INVESTIGATE THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE. THE CONTACT WAS STILL WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON WITH VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 86,400 MILES, VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. VEHICLE SENSING DEVICE INDICATES ON PASSENGER WHETHER WEIGHT IS ENOUGH TO TURN AIR BAG ON OR OFF. DEALER SHOWED AIR BAG CLOCK SPRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED INDICATED ONLY AIR BAG THAT WAS AFFECTED WAS PASSENGER SIDE. NOT SURE IF THIS IS CORRECT, THAT CLOCK SPRING FAILURE ONLY AFFECTS DEPLOYMENT OF ONE AIR BAG. SUBSEQUENT PROBLEMS THUS FAR IN TWO WEEKS SINCE TAKING TO DEALER: CRUISE CONTROL BUTTONS NOT WORKING, TRIP COMPUTER AND ECO CONTROLS ALSO FAILED ALL CONTROLS ARE LOCATED ON STEERING WHEEL. CONTACTED KIA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY DENIED COVERING REPLACEMENT OF PART AS VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY THAT COVERED THIS FAILURE AND CLAIM THEIR ARE NO RECALLS ON THIS PART FOR VIN NUMBER.
2013 KIA OPTIMA SX. CAR LOSES POWER WHILE ON THE ROAD, ENGINE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON. CAR CAN'T BE DRIVEN PAST 20 MPH OR SO NO MATTER ACCELERATOR POSITION. CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN TO DEALER SEVRAL TIMES AND A CAUSE STILL UNKNOWN. DEALERSHIP CHANGED ENGINE CABLE HARNESS AND RESET COMUTER (APPARENTLY SETTINGS WERE SCRAMBLED) AND CAR THEN IS FUNCTIONAL. LAST TIME, CAR LOST POWER IN HIGHWAY AND ALMOST GOT REAR-ENDED. DANGEROUS.
THIS VEHICLE HAS AN ELECTRICAL BURNING ODOR QUITE OFTEN, AFTER HAVING DRIVEN SHORT OR LONG DISTANCES. PLEASE REQUIRE KIA TO SOURCE THE ISSUE AND REPAIR, AT THEIR COST, THE ISSUE BEFORE THIS VEHICLE STARTS A FIRE!!!

A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED IN MAY OF 2018 PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V224000 (ENGINE). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
MY AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND HAS STAYED ILLUMINATED FOR SEVERAL WEEKS AND MY HORN ISN'T WORKING AS WELL CRUISE CONTROL AND OTHER STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS NOT WORKING.
DIVING AT 40 MPH. COME TO A STOP AT RED LIGHT AND ENGINE BEGINS MAKING A SLIGHT NOISE. NO WARNING GAUGES OR WARNING LIGHT GO OFF. START DRIVING TO DRIVE AGAIN AND 2 BLOCKS LATER A VERY LOUD MECHANICAL BANG AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. WOULD NOT RESTART. OIL LIGHT WENT OUT USING THE STARTER WHILE TRYING TO RESTART. NEVER GOT THE ENGINE RESTARTED. CAR IS NOW AT KIA OF LANSDALE AFTER I HAD TO PAY FOR TOWING. I PERFORM COURIER SERVICES TO US TREASURY DEPT AND US ATTORNEY IN PHILADELPHIA AREA. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES WHEN THE CAR SHUT OFF AND DIDN'T NOT START TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND SAID THE ENGINE LOCK.
TAKATA RECALL MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON ABOUT A WEEK AGO WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD GOING AT 50 MPH AND HASN'T WENT OFF YET. I HAVEN'T BEEN IN ANY SORT OF ACCIDENT WHATSOEVER. JUST CASUALLY DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD (MAY HAVE HIT A POTHOLE OR ANYTHING THAT CAUSED IT TO COME ON) SO I WAS CHECKING TO SEE IF MAYBE THERE WAS A RECALL.
AUGUST 21, 2018, WE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO GOSSETT KIA MOTORS (DEALERSHIP) BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT START.. THE CAR HAS A PUSH BUTTON START, WHENEVER WE TRIED TO START THE CAR BY PRESSING THE START BUTTON AND PUSHING DOWN ON THE BRAKE PEDAL THE CAR WOULD NOT START. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO FIND A PROBLEM BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD START FOR THEM. WE DROVE THE CAR HOME THE SAME DAY. ON THE NIGHT OF AUGUST 22, 2018, THE CAR WOULD NOT START, SAME AS DESCRIBED ABOVE. ON AUGUST 23, 2018, WE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS REPAIRED AND RETURNED TO US AUGUST 25, 2018. TODAY, AUGUST 30, 2018, THE CAR DID NOT START AND EXHIBITED THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE PREVIOUS TWO TIMES. WE WILL HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AT THEIR CONVENIENCE. LUCKILY FOR US, EACH TIME THE CAR DID NOT START IT WAS PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY. SPECIAL NOTE, ON AUGUST 2, 2018, WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR BRAKE REPAIR WORK. ADDITIONALLY, ONE OF THE TOW TRUCK DRIVERS STATED HE TOWED SEVERAL KIA OPTIMA'S WITH THE SAME DESCRIBED PROBLEM.

PLEASE, THERE HAS TO BE A BETTER & SAFER SOLUTION.

THE DRIVE SHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 152,000.
I HAD MY BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS REPLACED IN NOVEMBER 2017. THE SERVICE DEPT AT THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED, THEY WOULD NOT PASS INSPECTION AND WERE BEYOND SALVAGING. I HAD THEM REPLACED. IN APRIL, I WENT BACK TO THE DEALER FOR ROUTINE SERVICE, INCLUDING AN OIL CHANGE. I HAD COMPLAINED OF VIBRATION IN THE BRAKE PEDAL AND WAS ADVISED IT WAS NORMAL. ON AUGUST 3RD I HAD ANOTHER OIL CHANGE AND REQUESTED THE BRAKES BE LOOKED AT, AS THE VIBRATION WAS AT A POINT OF CONCERN. THE SERV DEPT INDICATED THE FRONT ROTORS WERE WARPED AND NEEDED REPLACING, LESS THAN A YEAR LATER, AND LESS THAN 4000 MILES LATER. I WAS UPSET AND THEY WERE ABLE TO CHARGE ME 1/2 THE COST. THAT EVENING I DROVE AND FOUND THE VIBRATION TO BE EXACTLY AS BEFORE THE REPLACEMENT. I WENT TO THE SERVICE DEPT, YET AGAIN ON AUGUST 8. THEY INDICATED THE VIBRATION WAS FROM THE REAR AND THOSE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THERE ARE ONLY 42000 MILES ON THE CAR. I DRIVE LESS THAN 3 MILES ROUND TRIP EACH DAY. I DISCOVERED THAT THEY WERE NEVER ROAD TESTING THE CAR, JUST LOOKING AT THE BRAKES/ROTORS AND REPLACING. THEY ARE EITHER PUTTING WARPED ROTORS ON THE VEHICLE AND/OR LYING ABOUT REPLACING THEM. I COULD HAVE SAVED TIME AND MONEY HAD THE WORK BEEN COMPLETED RIGHT , THE FIRST TIME.

THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SHOWED UP AND PUT THE FIRE OUT . THE WHOLE FRONT END OF THE CAR BURNED .
APPARENTLY THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY CAR IN WHICH I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF. TODAY WHILE DRIVING THE CAR STARTED MAKING A KNOCKING NOISE, AND STOPPED RUNNING. ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ON AND TH ECAR IS BROKE DOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.

MY CAR WAS OCCASIONALLY MAKING A LOUD NOISE WHEN DRIVING. WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT, THE CAR THEN SUDDENLY STARTED SHAKING WHILE IDLING AND BECAME SLUGGISH AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OVER 20 MPH. I HAD TO SLOWLY DRIVE MY CAR BACK HOME, WITH VERY LITTLE ACCELERATION. I THEN TOWED IT TO A MECHANIC WHO HAD TOLD ME THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH A TURBO, AND IT WAS MOST LIKELY CAUSED BY THE LEFTOVER DEBRIS IN THE ENGINE, WHICH WAS COVERED BY THE RECALL. I CALLED KIA'S CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE, AND I WAS TOLD MY CAR PASSED THE RECALL INSPECTION A YEAR AGO, BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE IT SHOULD BE COVERED NOW CONSIDERING I CAN NO LONGER DRIVE THE CAR. MY CAR WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD LOOK OVER THE CAR, BUT NOT WITHOUT IMMEDIATELY SAYING THAT THERE'S A CHANCE IT 'WON'T BE COVERED' AS IF THEY WERE ANTICIPATING TELLING ME THEY WON'T DO IT. ON SATURDAY I WAS TOLD I WOULD GET A CALL THE FOLLOWING MONDAY, WHICH I NEVER DID. I FINALLY HAD TO CALL THURSDAY, JUST TO BE ON HOLD FOR 30 MINUTES TELLING ME ITS ONLY THE TURBO AFFECTED, NOT THE ENGINE OR TURBO LINE, AND THEREFORE IT'S NOT UNDER RECALL. NOT ONLY DID THEY TELL ME SOMETHING I ALREADY KNEW, THAT THE TURBO WAS BLOWN, BUT I'M CHARGED $110 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC FEE THAT I WAS NEVER TOLD ABOUT BEFOREHAND, TO CHECK SOMETHING THAT'S ON RECALL, NOT TO MENTION THE TOW I HAVE TO PAY FOR. I CALLED KIAS CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO JUST GAVE ME AN OH WELL THAT'S TOO BAD SORRY NO ONE TOLD YOU, I'M NOT GOING TO TRY TO HELP. I'M NOT EVEN CONVINCED THAT THEY DID ANY TESTS ON MY ENGINE, OR LOOKED INTO THE CAUSE OF THE TURBO FAILURE. MY ONLY EXPLANATION WHEN ASKING ABOUT THE CAR WAS, 'IT NEEDS A TURBO'. WHILE READING OTHER PEOPLE'S STORIES ABOUT THE RECALL, EVERYONE ELSE'S DEALER SAW THAT THE CAR COULDN'T DRIVE, REPLACED THE ENGINE AND TURBO, AND CALLED IT A DAY. I THOUGHT IF THERES A RECALL EVERY CAR GETS FIXED REGARDLESS IF IT NEEDS IT.

LEAVES VEHICLE VULNERABLE TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. DEALER HAS SAID THIS IS NORMAL SEVERAL TIMES. THIS HAPPENS WHEN ENTERING OR CROSSING INTERSECTIONS AT NORMAL SPEED, NOT OVER ACCELERATING, ATTEMPTING TO MERGE ON TO FREEWAYS WITH SHORT ON RAMPS, OR JUST MAKING A TURN AT AN INTERSECTION. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS.

I WAS DRIVING MY 2013 KIA OPTIMA ON A DRY ROAD SURFACE. I HAD JUST GONE THROUGH A TRAFFIC LIGHT THAT WAS GREEN FOR ME TO GO. THERE WAS A SLIGHT DOWN GRADE SO I STARTED TO APPLY MY BRAKES BECAUSE OF TRAFFIC AHEAD. WHEN I PRESSED MY BRAKE PEDAL THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP CAUSING ME TO REAR END ANOTHER VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED IN A VERY BUSY CITY STREET.
