The car shut off on me while driving
After accelerating from a stop and releasing my foot from the gas petal the car will start to accelerate on its own and speed up.
Traction control is too sensative. I was in a stop sign. Then tried to press the acceleration but vehicle lost power. Too sensative traction control caused me to stall in the middle. There were car coming from the left or right to me. I am glad I was at safe distance and could regain control of the car.

WHILE I'M GOING 65 NOW IT WON'T START AT ALL THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON BUT MY ENGINE KNOCKS AND THEN CUTS OFF. I WAS ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND WENT TO MOVE TO THE SECOND LANE IT WAS FINE EXCEPT I MY CAR BEGAN TO STALL AND SLOW DOWN MAKING THIS GRINDING NOISE WHEN I TRIED TO GAIN SPEED... ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ON AND I COULDN'T GO FASTER THAN 30 MILES PER HOUR. ALL WHILE INCOMING TRAFFIC WAS COMING AT ME GOING ABOUT 60 MILES PER HOUR I HAD TO GAIN COMPOSURE. PUT ON MY HAZARDS AND PULL OVER... IT WOULDN'T LET ME GO ABOVE 20 WHEN I PULLED OVER.... I WAS FREAKING SCARED ONCE I PULLED OVER I WAS SHAKING AND CRYING HAD TO GAIN COMPOSURE... MIND YOU I WENT TO THE KIA REPAIR DEALERSHIP IN BERWYN AND THEY SAY IT'S FINE.... IT'S NOT FINE THAT MY CAR COULDN'T GO ABOVE 30 MILES ON THE EXPRESS WAY, IT'S NOT FINE THAT I WAS ALMOST IN A COLLISION IT'S NOT FINE. KIA WILL NOT REPAIR THESE CARS UNTIL SOMEONE DIES.... I CAN'T TAKE THIS CHANCE WITH MY CHILDREN. I WILL BORROW MY MOM'S TOYOTA UNTIL THIS PROBLEM IS RECTIFIED. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AROUND 70 MPH, PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL AND THEN THE ENGINE ACCELERATED AND THEN DECELERATED BACK TO ACCELERATING. BY THAT TIME, THE CAR LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD TURN ON AND THE GAS PEDAL WOULD NOT ACCELERATE THE CAR ANYMORE. THE CAR SLOWLY STARTED DECELERATING ON THE HIGHWAY, WHERE I MANAGED TO GET OFF OF THE HIGHWAY INTO A DIP ON A BIG STREET. HAD IT TOWED BECAUSE THE CAR'S ENGINE WOULD NOT START ANYMORE, BUT THE LIGHTS AND RADIO INSIDE WOULD TURN ON. I SAW OTHER PEOPLE ONLINE TALKING ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM AND HOW THERE IS A RECALL ON CERTAIN VEHICLES, BUT WHEN I SEARCHED UP MY CAR'S VIN NUMBER, IT DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE ON THE RECALL LIST.

INTERMITTENT STALLING OF VEHICLE UPON SLOWING/STOPPING AT REDLIGHTS/STOP SIGNS IN WHICH ENGINE BEGINS LOSING POWER/GAS EITHER STALLS AS IF IT'S TRYING TO QUIT OR CAR STALLS & QUITS. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES, NEARLY CAUSING ACCIDENTS & INCREASING IN FREQUENCY. I HAVE NOTICED MY MOTOR KNOCKING LOUDER & UPON VISUAL EXAM, THE ENTIRE MOTOR IS SHAKING WHICH CAN BE FELT WHILE DRIVING BUT MOST NOTICEABLE CAUSING CAR TO SHAKE WHEN AT AN IDOL. MOST RECENT, I'VE BEGAN TO SMELL A VERY STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE UPON STARTING THE CAR BUT WORSENS UPON ACCELERATING. THE CAR IS RUNNING RICH, AND SMELL OF GASOLINE IS SO STRONG, WE HAVE TO ROLL DOWN WINDOWS. THE FUMES ARE MORE PROMINENT TOWARDS REAR OF CAR CLOSE TO EXHAUST. I CANNOT SEE ANY LEAKAGE OF FUEL WHEN LOOKING HOWEVER I AM LOSING FUEL SOMEWHERE BECAUSE MY GAS MILEAGE HAS GREATLY GOTTEN WORSE & BURNING THROUGH IT AT A FAST PACE. I TOOK IT TO KIA DEALERSHIP IN SALISBURY NC TODAY IN WHICH THEY UPGRADED COMPUTER SOFTWARE RELATED TO RECALL ON 2.4L GDI ENGINE AS I HAVE A 2013 KIA OPTIMA. MECHANIC STATES THE ENGINE TEST DID PASS BUT FEELS IT WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED AT SOME POINT?? MECHANIC SAID HE DIDN'T SMELL ANY GASOLINE BUT HE DID NOT TEST DRIVE THE CAR OR RUN DIAGNOSTIC TEST AS HE SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY THE $129 FEE......I DECLINED PAYING THE FEE AND REQUESTED IT BE DONE AS THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM BUT THAT WAS DENIED. I NEED THIS ADDRESSED AND REPAIRED. IT IS DANGEROUS, COSTING ME MORE MONEY FOR GAS & AFFECTING MY JOB. PLEASE ADVISE.......THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND SHOULD NOT PLACE FINANCIAL OR SAFETY BURDENS ON OWNERS AS WE ALREADY PAY ENOUGH FINANCING AS WELL AS REGULAR/NORMAL WEAR & TEAR EXPENSES!! WHILE I WENT ON THE HIGHWAY THE ACCELERATION FELT VERY SLUGGISH AND HAD A HARD TIME SPEEDING UP TO THE SPEED LIMIT. SOMEHOW THE CAR WAS OUT OF OIL WITH NO LIGHT COMING ON TO INDICATE THAT AND RECENTLY ABOUT A WEEK AGO OIL WAS PUT IN, AND WEEKS PRIOR OIL WAS PUT IN.

I DID SOME SEARCH ONLINE AND I FOUND A FORUM WHERE MULTIPLE OWNERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. ONE OWNER HAD THE HYDRAULIC ABS ASSIST MODULE REPLACED AND ECU REPROGRAMMED UNDER WARRANTY. WHILE MOST CUSTOMERS LIKE MY SELF HAVE BROUGH THE CAR TO OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP JUST FOR THEM TO CLIAM THE PROBLEM IS NORMAL. THE PART IS 1600.00 PLUS 900.00 IN LABOR.
