THE BREAKS WERE CHANGED DUE TO GRINDING COM TO FIND OUT THERE WAS 1BOLT ON THE BREAK CALIBERS PUT THEM ON AND IT STILL GRINDS AND CAN NOT STOP
ON FEB. 25, 2018, WE PURCHASED A 2003 KIA SEDONA VAN FROM CITY START AUTO SALES IN PARADISE, CA. ALL FOUR TIRES AND THE SPARE WERE GOODYEAR INTEGRITY 215/70R15. THE TIRES READ MAX. PSI 44, BUT THE VAN SAID TO RUN AT 35 PSI. SO, ONCE A WEEK ON A COOL MORNING (BETWEEN 68-75 DEGREES OUTSIDE WITHOUT IT HAVE BEEN DRIVEN), MY WIFE OR I WOULD MAKE SURE THE TIRES WERE 34-35 PSI. DURING THIS 3 MONTH PERIOD, WE NOTICED NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TIRES. ON MAY 31, 2018, I WAS DRIVING FROM MY HOUSE IN MAGALIA, CA TO CHICO, CA. JUST AS I STARTED TO MERGE ONTO HWY 99 IN CHICO, I HEARD A THUMPING SOUND, THEN A BANG--TWICE. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND SAW 2 TIRES HAD COMPLETELY BLOWN OUT AND ONE WAS SERIOUSLY SHOWING THE METAL BELT. I HAD TO PAY TO GET A TOW TRUCK OUT AND IMMEDIATELY PURCHASE 4 NEW TIRES. WE'VE HAD A LITTLE WORK DONE ON THE REAR-LEFT FENDER CONTINUED TO HAVE WEIRD SOUNDS COMING FROM THE LEFT REAR WHERE THE WORST BLOW OUT HAPPENED. I JUST HAVEN'T HAD TIME TO TAKE IT IN YET. I KNOW IT WAS HOTTER IN CHICO THAN AT MY HOME, BUT IT WAS PROBABLY IN THE UPPER 80'S AT THAT TIME. I HAD NO WARNING AND IF IT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS ON THE FREEWAY, IT WOULD'VE BEEN A DISASTER. THE TIRE COMPANY SHOWED US THE SPARE, SAID WE COULD USE IT AS ONE FOR A SHORT TIME, BUT EVEN IT IS SHOWING SOMETHING WRONG TO THE TIRE GUY.
REAR WHEEL BEARING FREEZING UP MAKING TIRE COME OFF
THE BACK RIGHT WHEEL CAME OFF OF OUR 2003 KIA SEDONA VAN. MY WIFE HEARD A LOUD NOISE AS SHE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES BUT THE CAR HAD DIFFICULTY STOPPING. SHE MANAGED TO PULL THE VAN OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK CAME, IT PULLED THE VAN ABOUT A FOOT BEFORE THE ENTIRE RIGHT REAR WHEEL CAME OFF. HAD SHE BEEN TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY, SHE AND MY 3 CHILDREN MIGHT NOT HAVE SURVIVED THE INCIDENT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 KIA SEDONA. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD VIBRATING NOISE. THE CONTACT STATED THE FASTER HE DROVE, THE MORE NOISE THE VEHICLE MADE. HE STATED THAT HE DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL.THE CONTACT REFERENCED RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 05V232000, COMPONENT, WHEELS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 KIA SEDONA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS; THERE WAS A BURNING ODOR INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. UPON VEHICLE INSPECTION HE OBSERVED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER WHEELS HAD EXCESSIVE HEAT BUILD-UP. HIS VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS EXCLUDED FROM RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V232000 (WHEELS). THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE MALFUNCTION. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 103,000.
05V232000 - THIS MORNING MY LEFT REAR WHEEL CAME OFF MY 2003 KIA SEDONA AT THE HUB -- NOT THE LUGS AT THE HUB - FORTUNATELY I WASN'T DRIVING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND DUE TO THE NOISE IT WAS MAKING REALIZED THAT I HAD A PROBLEM. PER KIA - THE ABOVE MENTIONED RECALL DID NOT PERTAIN TO MY VEHICLE. *TR

IT APPEARED TO BE A FLAT TIRE; HOWEVER, THE TIRE FELL OFF OF THE VEHICLE AND ROLLED DOWN THE INTERSTATE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 48946 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48765.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL BEARING AND HUB CAP WERE REPLACED. THE CONTACT INQUIRED WITH THE MANUFACTURER ABOUT NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 05V232000 (WHEELS) HOWEVER THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 132,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 KIA SEDONA EQUIPPED WITH BRIDGESTONE FIRESTONE FR380 TIRES, TIRE SIZE P215/70/R15. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, AND THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE AND STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SHAKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A TIRE CENTER WHERE THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE AND BOTH REAR TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE TIRE TREAD EXHIBITED PREMATURE WEAR. THE SIMILAR FAILURE RECURRED ONE YEAR AND NINE MONTHS AFTER THE REPLACEMENT OF THE THREE TIRES. THE CONTACT PLANNED TO NOTIFY THE TIRE CENTER FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE INSPECTED AND TO DETERMINE WHICH TIRE WAS DEFECTIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 43,000. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN.
IN JULY OF 2006, WHILE ON VACATION, WE NOTICED A LUG NUT MISSING FROM THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL, AND ONE NEXT TO IT WAS FINGER LOOSE. (NEW TIRES WERE PUT ON IN FEBRUARY 2006). I REPLACED THESE AT THE NEXT EXIT. TOOK VAN TO KIA DEALER THE NEXT WEEK, THEY REPLACED WITH OEM LUG NUTS. THE FOLLOWING WEEK, I NOTICED A LUG NUT WAS MISSING AGAIN FROM THE SAME WHEEL. TOOK TO KIA, THEY REPLACED. 2 WEEKS LATER, I NOTICED A LUG NUT MISSING FROM SAME TIRE AGAIN. TOOK TO KIA TO BE REPLACED AND THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHY THEY KEPT FALLING OFF, HAD NOT SEEN THIS BEFORE. 2 MONTHS PASSED, AND I TRIED TO ROTATE MY TIRES IN EARLY OCT. ONE STUD SNAPPED OFF, AND ANOTHER SEIZED UP, IF I TRIED TO GET IT OFF, IT WOULD HAVE SNAPPED OFF ALSO. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TODAY, THEY REPLACED 2 STUDS AND THE 2 LUG NUTS. AGAIN, NO IDEAS AS TO WHY THIS IS OCCURRING. I'M AFRAID THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE WHEEL STUDS / WHEEL ASSEMBLY, WHICH MAY RESULT IN A WHEEL SEPARATION WHILE DRIVING, RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY TO PASSENGERS/OTHER PEOPLE, AND SERIOUS DAMAGE TO VEHICLES. I THINK THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED/KILLED. *NM
TIRE ON PASSENGER SIDE REAR HAD A PIN HOLE ON THE INSIDE OF THE SIDEWALL. SPOKE TO SOMEONE ELSE WHO HAD THE SAME VAN WHO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. *JB
MY TIRE RIPPED OFF THE RIM WHEN WE DRIVING ABOUT 60 MPH LIKE THE ONES DID FOR FIRESTONE AND IT DID DAMAGE TO MY VAN THE COMPANY DID NOT WANT TO FIX ANYTHING WELL WE LUCKY NO ONE GOT HURT. SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN I THINK YOU SHOULD LOOK AT THESE TIRES. *LA
WHILE DRIVING 60 TO 65 MPH THE REAR RIGHT PASSENGER TIRE BLEW OUT. THE CONSUMER KNOWS HE DID NOT RUN OVER ANY OBJECT IN THE ROAD. THE MANUFACTURER OF THE TIRE WAS CONTACTED AND ASK THE CONSUMER TO SEND THE TIRE BACK FOR FURTHER CHECK UP. THE MANUFACTURER CALLED HIM BACK TO LET HIM KNOW THAT THE TIRE HAD BEEN CHECK AND INDICATED THAT IT WAS A SIDE IMPACT. CONSUMER DOES NOT AGREE WITH THE FINDINGS. *NLM
