MY AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON, AND HAS STAYED ON EVER SINCE. THE DEALER WANTS $100.00 TO CHECK WHY THE LIGHT IS ON. I TOLD THEM KIA SHOULD CHECK IT FOR FREE, BECAUSE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THEY TOLD ME KIA WON'T DO THIS. I DON'T THINK THEY CARE ENOUGH ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. I AM SURE THEY WILL CARE, WHEN SOMEONE WITH THIS ISSUE, GETS INTO AN ACCIDENT, AND THEIR AIR BAGS DO NOT DEPLOY. *TR
2006 KIA SEDONA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATING. *SMD THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER, WITH THE AIR BAG LIGHT ON, THERE WAS A POSSIBILITY THE AIR BAG(S), MAY NOT DEPLOY.
THE DRIVER SIDE CONTROL ARM BROKE IN HALF AS THE VEHICLE WAS SLOWING TO A STOP (10-20 MPH) AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. VEHICLE COULD NOT BE DRIVEN AFTER THE INCIDENT. AFTER INSPECTION, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CONTROL ARM HAD RUSTED THROUGH AND FAILED. ALL REMAINING CONTROL ARMS WERE INSPECTED. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT CONTROL ARM WAS ALSO IN NEED OF REPAIR BEFORE AN EVENTUAL FAILURE WOULD OCCUR. *TR UPDATED 10/22/13*LJ UPDATED 10/25/2013 *JS
THE LEFT FRONT COIL SPRING BROKE AFTER I HAD PARKED THE VAN AT WORK. LATER WHEN I WENT OUT TO GO SOMEWHERE, I FOUND A PIECE OF METAL ABOUT 8" LONG LYING ON THE GROUND BEHIND THE LEFT FRONT TIRE. I THOUGHT THAT I SURE HOPED IT HAD NOT COME OFF OF MY CAR! WHEN I GOT IN AND PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE, IT WOULD NOT MOVE. I SHIFTED TO DRIVE AND IT WENT FORWARD, SO I SHIFTED BACK INTO REVERSE AND TRIED TO BACK UP. THERE WAS A LOUD BANG AND THE FRONT END ON THE CAR DROPPED HARD TO THE LEFT. WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE CAR, THE TIRE WAS COMPLETELY FLAT AND I COULD ACTUALLY SEE A FLAP STICKING UP FROM THE INSIDE WALL OF THE TIRE. I LATER DISCOVERED THAT THE COIL SPRING HAD BROKEN - THAT WAS THE PIECE OF METAL I HAD FOUND ON THE GROUND - AND HAD STABBED THE TIRE. IT WAS CORRODED. AFTER CHECKING ONLINE I LEARNED THAT THERE HAD BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS ON 2006 KIA SEDONAS, THAT THE FINISH WOULD GET CORRODED BY ROAD SALT AND WATER AND THE SPRINGS WOULD BREAK. A RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED IN 21 STATES, INCLUDING MICHIGAN. WHEN I CONTACTED THE DEALER, I WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL COVERED VEHICLES MADE FROM DECEMBER 2005 TO MARCH 20, 2012. MY VAN WAS MADE ON APRIL 18, 2012, AND THEREFORE WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL BECAUSE THE 'ISSUE HAD BEEN RESOLVED.' WHY THEN DID THE SPRING BREAK? *TR
I NOTICE NOISE AND A SHAKE IN THE STEERING WHEEL LIKE I HAD A FLAT TIRE. I PULLED OVER CHECKED FOR A FLAT TIRE OR LOOSE WHEEL. TIRES AND WHEELS CHECKED OK. AS I CONTINUED THE NOISE BECAME WORSE AND THE CAR STARTED WEAVING SIDE TO SIDE AND I STARTED HEARING A RUBBING NOISE WHEN I STOPPED. PULLED INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR EVALUATION. THE MANAGER NOTICE THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL GO BACK AGAINST THE WHEEL WELL. CHECKED UNDER THE CAR AND NOTICE THE LEFT LOWER CONTROL ARM BROKE IN HALF. THE CONTROL ARM HAD RUSTED TO THE POINT THAT IT JUST FELL APART. WORKING FOR GENERAL MOTORS FOR 37 YEARS HAS A PROBLEM SOLVER AND QUALITY ENGINEER I HAVE NEVER SEEM A CONTROL ARM RUST AND BREAK. I DO BELIEVE AS TIME GOES ON THERE WILL BE MANY MORE FAILURES AND FATALITIES. THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE ADDRESS BEFORE WE GET TO THE POINT OF PEOPLE DYEING. KIA IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM HOPEFULLY I WILL HERE SOME CORRECTIVE ACTION ON THIS PROBLEM SOON. I HAVE THE OLD PARTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, SHE HEARD A LOUD NOISE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE TIRE HAD PUSHED INTO THE FENDER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. AN INSURANCE ADJUSTER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT THE CONTROL ARM WAS CORRODED AND CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 105, 000. *TR
THE AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATES ON DASH AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATES OFF WHEN A PASSENGER IS SEATED IN THE SEAT. THIS IS A HAZARD CONSIDERING THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. I HAD SEEN THAT THE SORENTOS AND OTHER MODELS HAS A SIMILAR ISSUES AND THERE IS A RECALL TO FIX THE ISSUE WHICH TAKES LESS THAN A MINUTE. WHY HAS KIA NOT PROVIDED THE SAME SERVICE FOR THE SEDONAS. THIS IS AN ISSUE THE KIA HAS KNOWN ABOUT AND NEEDS TO TAKE ACTION BEFORE MORE PEOPLE GET HURT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE SITTING IN TRAFFIC, SHE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DESTROYED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN TO HER HOUSE AND WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD FILE A COMPLAINT ON THE CONTACT'S BEHALF. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
RIGHT HEAD LIGHT HAS BLOWN AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR FOR THE PAST SIX YEARS. SAME IS TRUE FOR THE FRONT RIGHT TURN SIGNAL BULB. I CHECKED THE INTERNET AND THE SAME OR SIMILAR COMPLAINT CAN BE FOUND ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS KIA DENIES THAT THERE IS ANY PROBLEM. I WAS ON A TRIP ONE NIGHT WHEN THE HEAD LAMP BLEW AND WAS VERY NERVE RACKING BECAUSE I FEARED THAT THE OTHER LAMP BLOWING WOULD LEAVE ME WITHOUT ANY VISIBILITY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE UNDER CARRIAGE WAS COMPLETELY CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT A CHIME SOUNDED INDICATING THAT A DOOR WAS AJAR, ALTHOUGH ALL DOORS WERE SECURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
WAS IN A ACCIDENT STRUCK MANY TREES LOTS OF FRONT END DAMAGE, BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVERS SIDE DAMAGE AND MY AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *TR
DRIVING APPROX 35 MPH WHEN KIA VAN LOST POWER AND HAD TO COAST TO SIDE OF ROAD. NO FORWARD MOVEMENT WITH GAS PEDAL PRESSED DOWN. SAT FOR 10 MINUTES AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AT NORMAL SPEED FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES WHEN I SLOWED DOWN TO TURN CORNER, LOST POWER AGAIN. COASTED TO SIDE OF ROAD, SAT FOR ANOTHER 10/15 MINUTES THEN DROVE TO AUTO MECHANIC. REPLACED THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR FOR 2ND TIME. VEHICLE COMPUTER ALSO RESET. SERIOUS SAFETY RISK AS VEHICLE LOSES POWER IN MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC WITHOUT WARNING AND VERY LIMITED TIME TO MAKE DECISION WHERE TO COAST TO AS YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY DRIVING CONTROL. *TR
THE VAN'S FRONT TURN SIGNALS BEGAN WORKING INTERMITTENTLY. DESPITE CHANGING THE BULBS NUMEROUS TIMES, THE PROBLEM KEEPS OCCURRING. THEY WORK ABOUT 20% OF THE TIME. THIS HAS OCCURRED EVEN AFTER HAVING THE FIX DONE FOR THE STOP LIGHT RECALL. *TR
AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON IN DASH AND WILL NOT GO OFF, KIA SAID WAS PROBLEM IN ONE OF SEAT BELT SENSORS, 500.00 TO FIX. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE UNDER RECALL FOR SAFETY ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT DURING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ON THE VEHICLE, THE MECHANIC STATED THE REAR TOLL ADJUSTOR AND PIN NUT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WE BOUGHT THIS KIA SEDONA FROM A DEALER AND FROM THE TIME WE BOUGHT IT ALWAYS HAD SOME STARTING PROBLEM. SO WHEN WE TOOK TO THE DEALER THEY SAID IT IS THE BATTERY AND REPLACED THE BATTERY AND AGAIN THE SAME PROBLEM AND THEN THEY SAID TO REPLACE THE BATTERY CONNECTING PARTS AS THEY ARE NOT CONNECTING RIGHT. THEN HAD SOME FUSE PROBLEMS AND HAD TO REPLACE SOME FUSE AND THE AC WAS DOWN REPLACED THE AC. AGAIN BATTERY PROBLEM AND NOT STARTING. THE DEALER SAID TO REPLACE A NEW BATTERY AND WE SAID IT IS A NEW ONE, BUT TOLD TO PUT A KIA BATTERY AND REPLACED IT, AFTER FEW DAYS AGAIN CAR SLOW DOWNED THE SPEED WHILE DRIVING AND STOPPED MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. HAD TO TOW TO THE DEALER. THEY SAID IT IS THE STARTER MOTOR AND REPLACED IT. AFTER A YEAR, SAME PROBLEM - CAR WAS NOT STARTING AND THEN FINALLY THEY SAID IT IS THE FUSE BOX AND HAD TO REPLACE THE WHOLE FUSE BOX AS IT WAS NOT WORKING RIGHT. I HAVE TWO CHILDREN AND THIS IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE IF IT SLOWS DOWNS OR STOP WHILE DRIVING. I WOULD APPRECIATE IF SOMEONE CAN CHECK INTO IT AND AS THERE WILL BE MORE PEOPLE LIKE ME HAVING THIS PROBLEM. WE HAVE A MAZDA BUT WE HAVE SPEND WAY MORE MONEY AND OUR TIME ON THIS KIA AS IT BRAKE DOWNS A LOT. *TR
AIRBAG LIGHT ON WITHOUT CRASH OR DEFECT IN WELL MAINTAINED AUTO. APPARENTLY THIS TOTALLY INACTIVATES ALL AIRBAGS. MULTIPLE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS IN NHTSA SYSTEM. NEEDS TO BE RECALL, SINCE MOST OWNERS ARE UNABLE TO AFFORD DEALER REPAIRS TO THIS DEFECTIVE SYSTEM ON THIS MODEL CAR. OFTEN ATTRIBUTED TO DEFECTIVE SEATBELT SENSORS. HOPEFULLY NO ONE WILL DIE BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM, AND KIA USA SHOULD PAY TO REPAIR THIS KNOWN DEFECT! *TR
THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ON WHEN I PUT A BAG ON THE PASSENGER SEAT. I HAVE CHECKED ON INTERNET THAT THE AIR BAGS WON'T BE DEPLOYED WHEN THE WARNING LIGHT IS ON. I THINK THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE AND KIA HAS A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT OF EITHER AIR BAG SENSOR OR SOMETHING ELSE. KIA SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX THE PROBLEM ON ITS OWN COST. THE COST OF FIXING THIS PROBLEM WOULD BE OVER $1500. THIS SHOULD ABSOLUTELY BE A RECALL ISSUE. *TR
THE LOWBEAM HEADLIGHTS KEEP BLOWING OUT. THEY KEEP BLOWING AND I HAVE NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP AND KIA DIRECTLY AND THEY SAY THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL. LOOKING ONLINE THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH ALL 2006 KIA SEDONA'S. THE OTHER DAY BOTH LIGHTS BLEW OUT AND I DIDN'T HAVE ANY LOWBEAMS TO DRIVE HOME. I HAVE SMALL KIDS AND THIS IS A HAZARD. I HAD TO USE HIGH BEAMS TO GET HOME. THIS STARTED AROUND 60K MILES AND HAS BEEN ONGOING. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED WHEN THE PASSENGER'S SEAT WAS OCCUPIED AND THE PASSENGER'S SEAT BELT WAS BEING UTILIZED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR WAS CONNECTED TO THE SEAT BELT, IN WHICH THE SEAT BELT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG COULD DEPLOY AT ANY TIME WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,000. UPDATED 1/15/13 *CN THE CONSUMER WAS QUOTED A PRICE OF $ 250 FOR A NEW SEAT BELT. UPDATED 01/22/13
VEHICLE HAS BEEN SUFFERING FROM CONSTANT POWER LOSS WITH ESC LIGHT ILLUMINATED. NOW IT SUDDENLY ACCELERATES WITH THE LIGHT LIGHTEST TOUCH ON PEDAL, LURCHING AS IT ACCELERATES. IT HAPPENS ESPECIALLY OFTEN WHEN ENGINE IS UNDER STRESS, SUCH AS CLIMBING UP A HILL. I WAS PARKING IN GARAGE WHEN IS RAPIDLY ACCELERATED AND MY SIDE BUMPER IN FRONT GRAZED GARAGE DOOR SIDEWALL. IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED IN REVERSE WITH REAR SIDE BUMPER NICKING SAME SPOT ON GARAGE. THIS VEHICLE IS A SAFETY NIGHTMARE. FAULT CODES P2135 AND P2106 OFTEN APPEAR. *TR
THE "AIR BAG" WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE MANUAL INDICATED WE SHOULD TAKE IT TO A DEALER ASAP. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT NONE OF THE AIR BAGS IN THE VEHICLE WOULD DEPLOY WHEN THIS "AIR BAG" LIGHT IS ON. THE DEALER ALSO INDICATED THAT THERE HAD BEEN MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE KIA SEDONA AIR BAG SENSORS LOCATED UNDER THE DRIVER'S SEAT. THEY RECALIBRATED THE SENSORS AT A COST OF $194 AND THE LIGHT WENT OFF. HOWEVER, THEY INDICATED THAT THE SENSORS WERE "STILL VACILLATING" AND THAT IF THIS AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN THE SENSORS UNDER THE SEAT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED (AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $1500). I WENT ON LINE AND FOUND MANY OTHER KIA OWNERS WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND, IN MY OPINION, THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL TO FIX THESE DEFECTIVE SENSORS. *TR
SHORTLY AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED (EARLY 2012), THE AIR BAG LIGHT WENT ON OUR KIA SEDONA. I TOOK THE VAN TO OUR LOCAL KIA DEALER TO CHECK AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE WEIGHT CLASSIFICATION SEAT SENSOR ASSEMBLY (PART 88610 - $1399.75 AT THAT TIME) THAT HAD TO BE REPLACED. AFTER LABOR COST AND TAXES IT WOULD BE $2022!! KIA WAS HAVING SOME RECALLS AROUND THAT TIME, BUT NONE TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. THE MAIN REASON WE BOUGHT THIS VAN FOR OUR FAMILY WAS BECAUSE OF HIGH SAFETY RATINGS INVOLVING ALL THE AIRBAGS. NOW WE ARE DRIVING WITHOUT AIRBAGS AND PRAYING FOR EXTRA ANGELS AROUND THE VAN WHEN WE HAVE TO GO ON THE HIGHWAY. WE WOULD LIKE TO TAKE LONG ROAD TRIPS, BUT THAT SEEMS TOO DANGEROUS WITHOUT AIRBAGS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND YOU WILL FIND OUT IT IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL. KIA NEEDS TO STEP IT UP AND FIX THIS ISSUE; LIVES ARE AT STAKE. THANK YOU!

I HAVE OWNED MY 2006 KIA SEDONA SINCE JAN 2008 AND HAVE HAD A PERSISTENT PROBLEM OF OIL LEAKING FROM THE VALVE COVERS AND THE OIL PAN GASKET. THIS OIL LEAK ISSUE HAS BEEN 'FIXED' 5 TIMES TILL NOW, ON WARRANTY COVERAGE AT THE FOLLOWING KIA DEALERSHIPS (IN DESCENDING ORDER OF DATES)' - 1) FULLERTON KIA ON 10/29/2010 2) FULLERTON KIA ON 08/21/2010 3) GLENDALE KIA ON 06/08/2009 4) GLENDALE KIA ON 12/24/2008 5) FULLERTON KIA ON 01/30/2008 DUE TO THE DESIGN AND PLACEMENT OF THE ENGINE PARTS ON THE 2006 SEDONA, OIL LEAKING FROM THE VALVE COVER ON THE TOP, FALLS DIRECTLY ON THE ALTERNATOR LOCATED JUST BELOW IT. WITH TIME, THE OIL LEAK RESIDUE CLOGS UP THE ALTERNATOR ITSELF, THEREBY LEADING TO FAILURE OF THE BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM (WHICH HAS BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES ALREADY ON WARRANTY COVERAGE) AND ALSO THE ALTERNATOR BREAKING DOWN ITSELF. THERE HAVE BEEN 2 OCCASIONS WHERE MY VEHICLE HAS GONE COMPLETELY DEAD AND STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY WHEN I WAS DRIVING, LEADING TO A DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE FOR MY FAMILY. ON BOTH OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED IN TO A DEALERSHIP AND THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED ON WARRANTY COVERAGE. FOLLOWING ARE THE DEALERSHIPS AND DATES WHEN THE BATTERY/ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED (IN DESCENDING ORDER OF DATES) - 1) FULLERTON KIA ON 05/10/2011 (ALTERNATOR) 2) FULLERTON KIA ON 10/29/2010 (BATTERY) 3) GLENDALE KIA ON 08/22/2009 (ALTERNATOR) 4) GLENDALE KIA ON 08/22/2009 (BATTERY) 5) GLENDALE KIA ON 06/08/2009 (BATTERY) I NOW HAVE THE SAME OIL LEAK PROBLEM ONCE AGAIN AND THE OIL HAS ALREADY STARTED SEEPING FROM THE VALVE COVERS INTO THE ALTERNATOR. I AM DREADING THE DAY IN THE NEAR FUTURE WHEN THE ALTERNATOR WILL STOP WORKING AND CAUSE MY VEHICLE TO STALL AGAIN ON THE ROAD WHEN MY FAMILY AND KIDS ARE DRIVING IN IT. THERE APPEARS TO BE A HUGE QUALITY/SAFETY ISSUE RELATED TO THE KIA SPARE PARTS USED TO FIX THE OIL LEAK PROBLEM. *TR
MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON & I CALLED MY LOCAL KIA DEALER. THEY TOLD ME TO MAKE SURE NOTHING WAS UNDER SEATS BECAUSE THAT COULD CAUSE IT. THERE WAS NOTHING UNDER THE SEATS, HOWEVER ABOUT 25 MILES LATER (WHEN I ARRIVED AT WORK) THE LIGHT WENT OFF. THE NEXT DAY THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON & HAS NOT GONE OFF SINCE. I OWN A 2006 KIA SEDONA LX, PURCHASED NEW FROM THE DEALER. FALL OF 2010 WE BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE ESC LIGHT OFF / CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS TURNING ON. ONCE THAT HAPPENS YOU CAN'T ACCELERATE,EVEN WHEN YOU PUSH THE GAS PEDAL DOWN IT DOES NOT WORK. WHEN THIS HAPPENS YOU HAVE TO SHUT THE CAR OFF, RESTART AND PRAY IT WONT HAPPEN AGAIN. WE TOOK IT TO A KIA DEALER, THEY REPLACED A BRAKE SENSOR LIGHT, WHICH THEY SAID CAN CAUSE THE ESC LIGHT TO MALFUNCTION. IT WORKED FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS BUT NOW THE PROBLEM IS BACK, AND WORSE THAN EVER. THE VAN LOSES THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE WITHOUT WARNING, ON THE HIGHWAY, RIGHT AFTER STARTING THE CAR,..ETC. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ROTORS, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. OUR 2006 KIA SEDONA AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD CAME ON. A KIA DEALER DIAGNOSTIC REVEALED A $1,850 REPAIR COSTS TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG SEAT SENSORS. THE AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY UNTIL REPAIRED. OUR SEDONA HAS 47,485 MILES; 2 MONTHS PAST THE WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED . OVER THE PAST YEAR, I HAVE REPLACED STRUTS, BUSHINGS, CV BOOTS, & COUNTLESS OTHER ITEMS ON SUSPENSION. I HAVE HAD SEDONA LOOKED @ BY MULTIPLE MECHANICS. HAVE DRIVEN AROUND W/ ME ON BOTH OCCASIONS. WE OWN A 2006 KIA SEDONA. WE ARE REPLACING HEADLIGHTS AT LEAST TWICE A MONTH. THIS IS BECOMING QUITE AN EXPENSE. ONCE WE CHANGE ONE THE OTHER BLOWS. WE HAVE HAD IT EVALUATED BY A CERTIFIED MECHANIC AND HE SEE NO WIRING ISSUES, HOWEVER THEY LAST BULB WE TOOK TO HIM LOOKED AS IF IT HAD SOME SORT OF CORROSION ON IT. KIA SEDONA 2006 - ENGINE STALLED ON HIGHWAY, NO RESPONSE FROM THE ACCELERATOR - THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS THE 'ESC OFF' LIGHT. THIS CAN HAPPEN WHEN DRIVING IN CITY OR HIGHWAY... THE TURN SIGNALS WORK INTERMITTENTLY AND PROBABLY ONLY WORK 15% OF THE TIME, HOWEVER BEGINNING ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO THE BULBS HAVE NEVER BOTH WORKED AT THE SAME TIME (MEANING WHEN YOU TURN THE SWITCH TO THE LEFT THE LEFT SIGNAL WILL TURN ON BUT WHEN YOU THEN TURN THE SWITCH TO THE RIGHT IT DOES NOT WORK). THE BULBS HAVE BEEN CHANGED SEVERAL TIMES YET THIS NEVER FIXES THE PROBLEM. THE TURN SIGNAL BULBS HAVE ACTUALLY ONLY BEEN BURNED OUT ONE TIME, PROVING THERE IS SOME FORM OF A SHORT. ALL OF THE OTHER LAMPS, WHETHER IT BE HEAD LAMPS (LOW OR HIGH BEAM), FOG LIGHTS,TAIL LIGHTS, RUNNING LIGHTS, REVERSE LIGHT OR TAG LIGHTS, KEEP BURNING OUT BULBS. EVERY 6 WEEKS I'M HAVING TO REPLACE A BULB. THIS IS SO DANGEROUS NOT TO MENTION EXPENSIVE! WITH AS MANY COMPLAINTS AS THERE HAS BEEN POSTED DUE TO THIS VERY SAME ISSUE, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY KIA HAS NOT FOUND/CREATED A SOLUTION FOR THESE ISSUES. I HAVE A 2006 KIA SEDONA MINIVAN AND I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY SYSTEMS. ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION MY VEHICLE HAS STALLED ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THE ALTERNATOR STOPPED CHARGING THE BATTERY AND POWER RAN OUT. BEFORE THIS HAPPENS, I SEE ALL THE LIGHT INDICATORS ON THE DASHBOARD FOR MONITORED SYSTEMS GO ON, SUCH AS THE ABS, TPMS, HAND BRAKE, ESC ETC. I HAVE HAD THE ALTERNATOR REPLACED ONCE ALREADY AND IT HAS BROKEN DOWN A SECOND TIME. I HAVE THE BATTERY REPLACED ATLEAST 3/4 TIMES ALREADY. I AM NOT SURE IF THIS IS AN ELECTRICAL/WIRING DEFECT WITH MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE OR A DEFECT IN THE PARTS OR DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE ITSELF. ON MAY 5, 2011, I WAS DRIVING MY 2006 KIA SEDONA. MY 2 CHILDREN (AGE 2 AND 7) AND MY MOTHER WERE IN THE CAR. ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE LEFT PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR OPENED ON IT'S OWN ACCORD. I WAS FRAZZLED ON HOW THIS MAY HAVE HAPPENED AS THE CAR HAS GREAT SAFETY RATINGS WHICH IS WHY I PURCHASED IT AUG. 2006. I WAS SO UPSET AS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO GET ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY. I CALLED MAJOR SERVICE IN LIC, NY AND THEY SET UP AN APPT FOR MON. 5/9/11. WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR FOR SERVICE, I LEARNED THAT THIS IS A VOLUNTARY RECALL. I DO NOT DEFINE THIS AS A VOLUNTARY RECALL ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR CHILDREN PRESENT IN THE CAR WHEN THIS OCCURS. THEY EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THE PART HAD TO BE ORDERED BECAUSE IT IS ON BACK ORDER. SUCH A RECALL SHOULD FIRST NOT BE VOLUNTARY AND SECOND SHOULD NOT BE ON BACK ORDER. MEANWHILE, I NEED TO TAKE MY SON TO SCHOOL AND DAUGHTER TO THE BABYSITTER, SO I TIED A ROPE TO THE DOOR TO AVOID THE DOOR FROM FULLY OPENING WHILE DRIVING. 2006 KIA SEDONA MINI VAN. IT WOULD MAKE A LOUD BANG, POP NOISE WHEN THE WEIGHT WOULD SHIFT RIGHT TO LEFT ON THE FRONT END. ALSO WHEN TAKING A LEFT HAND CORNER. IT WAS IN TO KIA OF NASHA MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THIS NOISE. THEY COULD NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. WE DECIDED TO LIVE WITH IT FOR A WHILE. THE NOISE CONTINUED TO GET WORSE UNTIL WE DECIDED WE HAD ENOUGH AND TOOK IT TO A LOCAL SHOP WE TRUST. THEY REPORT THAT OUR SUB FRAME BUSHINGS AND SUB FRAME ARE COMPLETELY SHOT, ROTTED OUT. HE SAID WE WERE LUCKY WE BROUGHT IT IN BECAUSE THE ENGINE WAS NOT HELD IN ON ONE SIDE AT ALL. IT WAS COMPLETELY GONE. THIS IS ONLY A 5 YEAR OLD SEDONA WITH 80K MILES ON IT! THE ENGINE COULD HAVE DROPPED OUT OR BOTTOMED OUT ON THE HIGHWAY CAUSING A CRASH. *TR

THE LAST REPAIRS WE HAD WERE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, HOWEVER, WARRANTY DOES NOT LAST FOREVER AND IT DOES NOT SEEM LIKE THE REPAIRS ARE WORKING FOR US OR OTHER CONSUMERS.
