WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN MY STEERING WENT OUT IN THE CAR. I COULD NOT TURN THE VEHICLE AT ALL AND COULD ONLY PROCEED STRAIGHT. I CAME REALLY CLOSE TO A HEAD ON COLLISION. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND STOP THE CAR AND WAIT FOR HELP. THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AS IT RANDOMLY DOES THIS WITH THE STEERING. OUR MECHANIC STATES THAT IT IS THE ELECTRICAL STEERING THAT HAS TO BE REPLACED IN THE CAR WHICH IS $2,000 +/-. I RESEARCHED AND DO NOT FIND ANY RECALLS CONCERNING THE ELECTRICAL STEERING.
The contact owns a 2014 Kia Sorento. The contact stated the while driving at unknown speeds the brake pedal was applied but, it depressed to the floorboard happened several times and crashed into an oak tree on his property. The contact engaged the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. Additionally, while driving he crashed into a yellow pole post on another occasion. There were no warning lights illuminated. There were no reported injuries, air bag deployment, fire, or police report filed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where diagnosed the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 94,463. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 21V331000(air bags). The contact stated he was concerned about his safety about driving the vehicle. Consumer stated happened again on Oct 3rd when car was started, illumination of malfunction indicator light (MIL) came on as well as Anti Braking System indicator light came on. Brake fluid could leak internally so consumer turned off the car engine. Consumer spoke to manufacture on Oct 4, 2021 regarding case number [XXX]. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Kia Sorento. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the traction control, ABS and the tire pressure warning lights remained illuminated. Additionally, while operating the vehicle, the power steering inadvertently deactivated and the steering wheel would become difficult to turn in either direction. During the failure, the power steering, battery, and air bag warning lights were illuminated. The cause of the failures was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were both notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 120,000.
I WAS DRIVING UP A HILL AND CAR RAPIDLY LOST POWER. I WAS LUCKY TO GET IT OFF THE ROAD AND INTO A PARKING LOT. I HAD IT TOWED TO KIA. THEY HAVE TOLD ME I NEED A NEW ENGINE, COSTING IN THE RANGE OF $8,000 OR MORE. IT IS A 2014 KIA WITH ONLY 111,000 MILES.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE TO HER DESTINATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER VANDEVERE KIA (328 W. MARKET ST, AKRON, OH 44303, (330) 583-4131) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING A MOTOR OIL ADDITIVE ENGINE TREATMENT TO BE PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE HAD THE MOTOR OIL ADDITIVE ENGINE TREATMENT COMPLETED. THE CONTACT STATED SHE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE AND THE HAD VEHICLE SERVICED FOR A THIRD TIME ON 3/29/2021. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 117,791.
PEEL HAS STARTED PEELING ON HOOD AND NEAR WINDSHIELD ON DRIVERS SIDE.*DT*JB
ABS, TRACTION, AND TIRE WARNING LIGHTS ALL COME ON AT SAME TIME, THE TIRE WARNING LIGHT BLINKS FOR A MINUTE OR SO. I CHECKED FOR LOW PRESSURE IN TIRES AND IT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM VEHICLE SEEMS TO FUNCTION FINE NO TRACTION ISSUES NO ABS ISSUES THAT I CAN SEE OR FEEL IN DRIVING, SAW THE RECALL FOR THE AWD BUT MINE IS FWD.
PAINT ON OUR 2014 WHITE SORENTO PEELED OFF BOTH A PILLARS AND THE ROOF AND WE HAD TO GET THE TOP HALF OF THE CAR REPAINTED. PAINT PEELED ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE BARE METAL PICTURE I PROVIDED ONLY GOT WORSE FROM THERE AND PEELED ALL THE WAY UP.
ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS, BOTH HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2014 KIA SORENTO HAVE GONE OUT AT THE SAME TIME. USUALLY IF I OPEN THE HEADLIGHT HOUSING AND TWIST THE LIGHT PLUG THIS WILL CAUSE THE LIGHT TO WORK. BUT OTHER TIMES ONE OF THE TWO LIGHTS WILL BE BURNT OUT. THE ISSUE IS BOTH LIGHTS GO OUT AT THE SAME TIME. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE ATTENTION OF MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP BUT THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ENTERPRISE KIA (1509 E. PARK AVE, ENTERPRISE, AL 36330, (334)417-4444) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL.. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 134,000.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO REPLACED AN UNKNOWN PART HOWEVER, THE FAILURE REOCCURRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED AN UNKNOWN RECALL RELATED TO THE ABS SYSTEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE 116,000.
PAINT ON A PILLAR ,NEXT TO WINDSHIELD IS COMING OFF. THIS IS HAPPENING WITHOUT AND PRIOR DAMAGE.
PAINT BUBBLED UP TWICE AFTER RAINY DAYS THEN WOULD GO DOWN AND LOOK NORMAL LIKE IF NOTHING HAD HAPPENED AFTER THE RAIN. A FEW WEEKS LATER THE FRONT MIDDLE SECTION ON MY HOOD STARTED PEELING, DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT SINCE IT WASN'T TOO BIG. A COUPLE WEEKS LATER THE SIDE OF MY WINDSHIELD STARTED PEELING THE SAME WAY (WHERE IT WOULD BUBBLE UP AFTER THE RAIN) IT STARTED PEELING OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS A PAPER SINCE IT SOUNDED SIMILAR TO WHEN A FLYER IS LEFT ON WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING, AFTER GETTING TO MY DESTINATION I NOTICED THAT THE PAINT HAD STARTED PEELING OFF ON THE DRIVER SIDE, NEXT TO THE WINDSHIELD. I STOPPED BY KIA DEALERSHIP TO BE TOLD THAT THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO KIA'S WITH THE SAME PAINT COLOR AND THAT THEY JUST HAD A 2020 CAR THAT WAS GETTING RUST DOTS, THE GUY AT THE DEALERSHIP LOOKED AT MY CAR AND SAID I HAD RUST DOTS IN MY TRUNK DOOR, RIGHT NEXT TO THE SIDES OF THE KIA SIGN. I LOOKED CLOSELY AND HE WAS CORRECT, NOW I'M AFRAID IT WILL START PEELING THERE AS WELL. WHILE THERE THEY CHECKED MY WARRANTY AND WAS TOLD THAT THAT MY PAINT WARRANTY WAS OVER.
Kia refused to issue a recall for a known problem & refuses to fix vehicle & reimburse for unnecessary repair costs--have contacted their consumer center many times but they will not address problem--below is initial complaint I made on 06-09-2021, the first of many & all ignored to date: 06/09/2021 06:45:06 I have unnecessarily spent about $1000 replacing original factory equipment that was not faulty/not the problem all because you knew about the problems on the 2014-15 Sorentos but chose not to issue a recall to correct (as told by Master Tech at the local dealership)! Labor & parts bought/replaced: alternator, starter, relays. A few mths ago vehicle would start up fine on 1st drive of the day but after 1st stop of the day (as little as 5 mins!)vehicle would not even attempt to start up again! This happened multiple times & I found myself stranded in an essentially still new vehicle (note low miles for a 7 yr old vehicle)! All in all I replaced the above mentioned parts but problem continued so finally took it in to dealership for diagnosis, which they found no codes or problems! A service mgr mentioned that Nissan had similar problems (but they issued recalls unlike Kia!) where the frequencies would interact/interfere with those of neon stop lights??? Cars would simply shut down on the road/busy intersections--danger!!! I noticed that this happened most when I am at my mail center which is close to a medical clinic & at the bank--both of which have high frequency medical equipment/security systems??? I am a disabled vet on a fixed income & to have spent money unnecessarily when YOU KNEW OF THE PROBLEM & REFUSED TO ISSUE A RECALL you are liable to reimburse me in full for all the money I am out & the emotional/physical distress caused by your product & decisions! FIX MY CAR!

MY CAR STOP WORKING WITH NO WARNING AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND I WAS ABOUT TO EXIT AND STOPPED. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO NEAREST MECHANIC. IT WAS TOOK IT TO TO MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD THAT ENGINE WAS DAMAGED
KEEP HAVING TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT BULBS AND NOW HEADLIGHTS DON'T WORK AT ALL ! HAD TO DRIVE HOME AT NIGHT WITH ONLY PARKING LIGHTS IN FL KEYS, VERY TERRIFYING AND NOT SAFE AT ALL. PRIOR TO THE LIGHTS NOT WORKING I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE A BULB AT LEAST EVERY 3 MONTHS, GOT PULLED OVER ONCE BY THE POLICE BECAUSE A HEADLIGHT WAS OUT AND I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS OUT. I HAD JUST REPLACED IT!

WHEN DRIVING HOME I PULLED INTO MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND STARTED TO SMELL SLIGHT GAS, WHEN I GET TO MY HOUSE A PULLED INTO THE DRIVEWAY SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. IN AN ATTEMPT TO OPEN THE HOOD I NOTICED FLAMES COMING FROM UNDER THE CAR. I CALLED 911 AND MY FRIEND WENT TO GET A FIRE EXTINGUISHER. THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER DID NOT WORK AS THE FIRE GREW BIG AND FAST. WHEN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED THE FRONT OF THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY ON FIRE. NO RECENT WORK HAS BEEN DONE OF THE CAR BESIDES REGULAR OIL CHANGES. THE CAR WAS DRIVING PERFECTLY FINE AND NO WARNING LIGHTS OR WEIRD NOISES BEFORE IT CAUGHT FIRE.
MY 2014 KIA SORENTO'S PEARL WHITE PAINT STARTED DELAMINATING UNEXPECTEDLY. THIS IS COMMON NATION-WIDE FOR KIA VEHICLES, ESPECIALLY THOSE WITH PEARL WHITE PAINT. MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHEN I NOTICED THE PAINT HAD PEELED.
AROUND FEBRUARY 5TH THE PAINT ON MY PEARLE WHITE 2014 KIA SORENTO STARTED PEELING. AS TIME WENT ON THE PAINT CONTINUED TO FLAKE OFF OF MY CAR ON BOTH PILLARS AND THE HOOD OF MY VEHICLE ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE BASE OF THE CAR. AS I RESEARCHED THIS DEFECT I CAME ACROSS MANY OTHER CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME ISSUES AND IN THE EXACT SAME AREAS ON THEIR KIA SORENTO SPECIFICALLY THE 2014 MODEL. THE PAINT CONTINUES TO COME OFF IN THE RAIN, WIND, AND EVEN A SIMPLE CAR WASH.
PAINT DELAMINATION ON DRIVERS SIDE FRONT PILLAR AND HOOD.
The paint on the body of the car is chipping, and peeling away. There are large patches of paint missing. While driving down the road paint falls off. The paint comes off randomly; allowing the environment to be affected. There is rust forming on the locations the paint, and primer have peeled away at. The vehicle has not been inspected at this time. No symptoms until the paint, and primer started coming off in chunks. I have seen several other 2014, white, Kia Sorentos with paint and primer peeling up. As well as I have found several others online experiencing the same exact issue.
The white paint on this vehicle is delaminating and peeling off in several spots, mostly on the hood door frames and the roof.
ENGINE IS FAILING AND BURNING EXCESSIVE OIL, NEED OIL CHANGE EVERY 1K MILES. CURRENTLY COMPLYING WITH OIL CONSUMPTION TESTING, HOWEVER SENSORS ARE GOING ON AND I BELIEVE ITS DUE TO EXCESSIVE HEAT EMITTING FROM THE ENGINE. SERVICE ADVISOR SUBMITTED A GOODWILL CLAIM FOR THE ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, TIRE PRESSURE & E-BRAKE SENSORS AND KIA DENIED IT. I JUST PAID OFF MY CAR, WHICH IS IN GREAT CONDITION, AND NEVER HAD THESE ISSUES. KIA JUST KEEPS DOING OIL CHANGES AND TELLING ME TO RETURN EVERY 1K MILES. ALSO HAVING AC ISSUES, I RECENTLY FOUND OUT MY SUCTION HOSE WAS LEAKING AND HAD TO REPLACE IT, AFTER PAYING $160 FOR AC DIAGNOSIS. BROKE DOWN AND PAID $471 (ORIGINALLY $541 BEFORE DISCOUNT) FOR A PLASTIC HOSE AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD TAKE 2-3 DAYS TO GET HERE. ABOUT 27 DAYS LATER, THE PART FINALLY COMES IN, WHILE MY CAR HAPPENED TO BE AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR A WEEK UNEXPECTEDLY. AFTER GETTING 2 OIL CHANGES $140 IN ONE MONTH AND DRIVING FOR THE FIRST 1K MILES AFTER STARTING THE OIL TESTING, I WENT IN AT 8:30AM TO GET AN INSPECTION ON 3/15/21. I WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WOULD NEED TO KEEP MY CAR, AND HAD TO WOUND UP GETTING A RENTAL CAR. ANOTHER $239 I DON'T HAVE. I THEN HAD TO PAY FOR LABOR AND FREON $286. AFTER ALL THE WAITING AND TROUBLE I WENT THROUGH, SUFFERING WITH NO AC IN FL, AND SPENDING A TOTAL OF $1,296; THEY TELL ME AFTER INSTALLING THE PART MY AC COMPRESSOR IS BAD AND IT WOULD COST $905. SO I STILL DON'T HAVE AC! AT THIS POINT, THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, I WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMBURSED FOR RENTAL EXPENSES WHILE DOING THE OIL TESTING, FUTURE RENTAL/LOANER ACCOMMODATION BECAUSE I KNOW THEY WILL KEEP MY CAR AGAIN, AND ASSISTANCE WITH THE COMPRESSOR AND SENSORS. BEING I PAID FOR AN OVERPRICED HOSE, AND THE ENGINE IS FAILING. NOW SINCE LAST OIL TEST, GAS GAUGE DOES NOT MATCH ELECTRONIC RANGE READING. NOT SURE IF GAS IS FULL OR NOT. WHEN SEATBELT DINGS SPEED GAUGE JUMPS.
VEHICLE IS 3,000 MILES OVER 100,000 MILE WARRANTY AND OVERHEATED WHILE DRIVING AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH BLOWN HEAD GASKET.
I have a problem with the electrical, and I found that they already have a recall, but the Van Nuys dealer refused to fix it on the car.
I own a 2014 Kia Sorento LX and a short time ago, on a drive from NC to FL, the headlights started to fail. One day it was the low beam on the driver side and then it was the high beam on the passenger side. It varied and was random. I would have the bulbs replaced or replace them myself. After time, the "eyelash" went out on one side as well. One evening, driving home, all of the headlights went out and I drove the remaining distance with my hazards on. When I pulled into the driveway, some of the lights came back on. After this, I took it to the dealer and they it was a short and it would cost +/- $2,500 to replace the assembly on both sides. Since then, I have had 3rd parties look over the vehicle and it was always the same answer, "we have no idea of what causes this." The lights have only totally went off 2 or 3 times after the initial time. I have been replacing bulbs on a regular basis and the road does not "light up" without the high beams on, even immediately after changing the bulbs. I have even changed a bulb twice in one day.
2014 KIA SORENTO. PURCHASED IN AUG 2020 AT 86,000 MILES. I NOTICED A SMALL CHIP ABOVE WINDSHIELD. SALESMAN SAID IT WAS A ROCK. IN JAN 2021 WENT TO WASH VEHICLE WITH A SPRAYER AND LARGE CHUNK OF PAINT CAME OFF HOOD OF VEHICLE.. SMALLER CHIPS APPEARING ABOVE WINDSHIELD NOW ALSO.. BELIEVE THIS PAINT IS DEFECTIVE BY OTHER RESPONSES I'VE SEEN. KIA NEEDS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS DEFECT.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS, AND TAIL LIGHTS, BURNING OUT FREQUENTLY, AND AT THE SAME TIME! THIS HAPPENS AT LEAST ONCE PER YEAR, AND BOTH HEADLIGHTS GO OUT AT THE SAME TIME, LEAVING MY FAMILY AND I DRIVING IN THE DARK. THIS SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN YOU START THE VEHICLE. IT'S BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR 3+ YEARS. IT'S VERY SCARY AND A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE, RENDERING THE VEHICLE USELESS UNTIL REPAIRED. I SEE ONLINE THAT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF OTHERS WHO HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE. KIA CUSTOMER SERVICE WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE (EVEN THOUGH THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP DID) AND BOTH KIA AND THE DEALERSHIP AGREE THAT THIS PROBLEM IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL. THIS IS A LIFE OR DEATH SITUATION AND KIA NEEDS TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF IT BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. CARS NEED FUNCTIONING HEADLIGHTS AND BREAK LIGHTS.
WHILE DRIVING LAST NIGHT, MY VEHICLE TURNED OFF. PULLED OVER IT WOULD RESTART BUT THEN SHUT OFF. LET IT SIT FOR A COUPLE MINUTES RESTARTED AND WAS ABLE TO GO 1 MILE THEN SHUT OFF AGAIN. AFTER THAT LET IT SIT AGAIN AND RESTARTED AND WENT 1/2 MILE BEFORE IT SHUT OFF AGAIN. THEN WOULDN'T START AGAIN. THERE'S FUEL IN IT, ALL LIGHTING WORKED. BATTERY LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON.
MY PAINT ON MY KIA SORENTO HAS BEEN CHIPPING AWAY. I'VE HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR LESS THAN 2 YEARS, IT STARTED TO CHIP ALITTLE AROUND 8 MONTHS AGO, AND SINCE HAS GOTTEN SO BAD ACROSS ALMOST ALL THE ENTIRE TOP OF THE WINDSHIELD AND SLOWLY STARTING TO CHIP ALL THROUGHOUT THE REST OF MY VEHICLE
I OWN A 2014 KIA SORENTO. THERE IS AN OPEN RECALL THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A WHILE WITH THIS CAR. I TALKED TO MY LOCAL KIA DEALER MONTHS AGO AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD PUT ME ON A WAITLIST TO FIX THE RECALL BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS. NOW IT'S BEEN A FEW MONTHS AND I'M STILL WAITING. THEY SAY THEY STILL DON'T HAVE THE PARTS. NOW IT'S LEADING TO OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE AND I EVENTUALLY WANT TO SELL THE CAR, BUT NOTHING CAN GET DONE UNTIL THIS RECALL IS FIXED! BECAUSE OF THE RECALL, MY CAR IS AT RISK OF CATCHING ON FIRE SO I CAN'T PARK IN MY GARAGE. IT'S UNSAFE HAVING TO WAIT MONTHS TO GET A RECALL LIKE THIS FIXED!
MY SORENTO HAS STARTED BURNING OIL. IT MAKES A TERRIBLE NOISE WHEN RUNNING. SOMETIMES THE LIGHTS FOR MY BACKUP CAMERA DOESN'T WORK NOR MY RADIO. SOMETIMES THE RADIO IF ON, STATION CAN'T BE CHANGED. IT IS LIKE IT IS IN A FROZEN MODE.

CLUSTER LIGHTS TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON
MY 2014 KIA SORENTO, WITH PEARL WHITE PAINT, STARTED HAVING PAINT CHIP ABOVE WINDSHIELD IN SUMMER OF 2019, WE WERE GIVEN A TUBE OF PAINT TO STOP FURTHER SPREADING, THEN IN DECEMBER 2020, AREA ABOVE WINDSHIELD STARTED TO SPREAD, AND AREA ON LEFT SIDE OF CAR STARTED TO CHIP
THE WHITE PAINT ON MY KIA SORENTO IS CHIPPING. THERE WAS NOTHING THAT HIT MY VEHICLE, IT JUST STARTED CHIPPING ALL ACROSS RIGHT ABOVE THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. IT LOOKS VERY UNSIGHTLY AND THIS IS A RELATIVELY NEW VEHICLE.
I'M THE FIRST AND ONLY OWNER OF A WHITE 2014 KIA SORENTO. THE PAINT IS CHIPPING OFF ON THE HOOD, BUMPER AND DOOR RAIL/COLUMN. AFTER DOING PLENTY OF RESEARCH THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH WHITE KIA SORENTOS. ON SOCIAL MEDIA THERE'S A FACEBOOK GROUP (KIA SORENTO PEARL WHITE PAINT PEELING CHIPPING AND DELAMINATION). THIS GROUP IS FILLED WITH HUNDREDS OF KIA OWNERS WHO HAVE THIS ISSUE.
ABS LIGHT WAS GOING ON AND OFF, NOW IS CONSTANTLY ON. THEN TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT GOING ON AND OFF NOW IS CONSTANTLY ON. NOW MY BRAKE LIGHT IS ON. WHEN I START THE CAR THE TIRE LIGHT FLASHES ON AND OFF WHICH CAUSES MY SPEEDOMETER TO GO UP AND DOWN. HEADLIGHTS STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY AFTER SEVERAL BULB REPLACEMENTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 KIA SORENTO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO PARK AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT EXCESSIVE FORCE WAS NEEDED TO FOR THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT FELT UNSAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE THE SPEED WAS REDUCED. TOM KADLEC KIA (4444 US-52, ROCHESTER, MN 55901, (507) 281-2222) WAS CONTACTED AND AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE DIAGNOSED BUT WAS STILL PENDING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V224000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 130,000.
THERE HAVE BEEN AT LEAST TWO TIMES WHEN SERVICE FOR SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE WAS DUE AND THE SHOP SAID THE ENGINE HAD ALMOST NO OIL. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE SAME SHOP ON A DIFFERENT OCCASION AFTER HEARING RATTLING NOISES AROUND THE MOTOR WHILE DRIVING AND THE SAME ANSWER WAS GIVEN ABOUT VERY LOW ON OIL LEVEL. THIS WEEK THE CAR STALLED WHILE ONE OF MY KIDS WAS DRIVING AND I PICKED THEM UP WHERE THEY WERE LOCATED. I ASSUMED IT WAS THE BATTERY BUT AFTER AAA TOWING CAME THEY SHOWED ME THE BATTERY HAD FULL CHARGE AND PULLED THE OIL DIP STICK AND SHOWED ME NO OIL MARKING. THE CAR IS A 2014 SUV WITH 155,950 MILES. THERE WERE NO SERVICE ENGINE LIGHTS OR ANY KIND OF INDICATORS WARNING THAT OIL WAS LOW OR COMPLETELY DRIED OUT. THE CAR DOES NOT TURN AND IS AT THE SHOP. THE SHOP PREVIOUSLY DID SOME COSTLY WORK AS THEY REPAIRED AN OIL LEAK BUT THAT HAS BEEN ABOUT 1 YEAR TO 1.5 YEARS AGO AND I'VE NOT NOTICED ANY LEAKAGE. I CAN PROVIDE RECEIPTS IF NEEDED. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING.
Was driving on highway when suddenly the vehicle lost power and couldn't maintain speed. Once stopped smoke came out from under hood which turned out to be from coolant. Had car towed to independent shop where it was determined that the engine head gasket/s are bad and engine head bolts and block. Fix is it needs a new engine. Always had maintenance done at dealer and this happened just out of warranty 106k miles.
ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON NOT THE OIL LIGHT WHEN IT'S TIME TO FILL. ONCE I HAVE OIL CHANGE IT GOES OFF OUT THE NEXT DAY. MY ENGINE LIGHT CURRENTLY REMAINS ON AND I SMELL A BURNING FROM MY ENGINE AND MY VEHICLE DRIVES AS IF SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE ENGINE OR IT STRUGGLES TO CHANGE OVER.I'VE BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW WITH MY ENGINE SMELLING AS IF IT'S BURNING.
My 2014 Kia Sorento needs immediate attention to the following issues. The issues are associated with “open campaigns”. Yet, my specific Kia Sorento isn’t included. I have a bearing wear issue which has made the vehicle unsafe to operate. The car frequently overheats and has a major coolant leak. (17v22400). Also, the high pressure fuel pipe has appeared numerous times on my Mobius Kia Nav system. (18v907000). In addition, my vehicle now has many electronics which are inoperable. For instance, the back up camera, the power windows and steering wheel controls. This could be a result of a hydraulic leak near the electronic controls.(20V51900) There’s an issue with the powertrain. In addition, the right front axle is loose. As a result there’s a considerable loss of power to the wheels. (13V35600).
CAR STARTED MAKING KNOCKING NOISE WITH LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING ON 45MPH ROAD. CHECKED OIL, NO OIL. NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME IN DASH PRIOR OR CURRENTLY INDICATING LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE OF CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.
VEHICLE IS NOT BEING DRIVEN BECAUSE THE AXLE IS BUSTED. WE ARE NOT SURE WHY HIS HAPPENED. WHEN I DRIVE THE SORENTO, IT PULLS TO THE RIGHT VERY STRONG. I AM NOT SURE HOW LONG IT TAKES FORT THAT TO HAPPEN, BUT IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME THE CAR REACHES A FULL STOP. ALSO, WHEN I MANEUVER AND MAKE. TURN TO THE LEFT, IT SOUNDS LIKE IT POPS. IT'S A SCARY FEELING.
I'm dealing with my Kia Sorento 2014 SX for about two years a bit more, with acceleration problems and sometimes shut off itself when still I'm in D drive and the scary part still on the road with my family, brought theToronto and because isn't codes sometimes they don't know what the problem is, different mechanics also tried and change: high pressure fuel pump, some injectors, spark plugs, starter and nothing of those parts fix my problem, I lived so scare anything come and happen in the highway, in October star showing some codes: P0506, P0087 and in November shows: P2096, P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306, P0137 and again P0087, all this codes are gone and never coming back to the dashboard, please I really need and advise with this apparently mysterious problem, please if you can leave a message to [XXX], [XXX] Thanks and happy new year 2023. THIS CAR HAS HAD NUMEROUS RECALLS INCLUDING A MAJOR ONE IN WHICH THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE (THEY DID IT ON THIS CAR). NOW I HAVE THE ABS, ESC AND TIRE PRESSURE LIGHTS ON (WITH TIRE PRESSURE AT THE CORRECT READINGS) WHICH I BELIEVE IS RELATED TO THE LATEST ABS RECALL THEY HAD. UNFORTUNATELY, MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED ON MARCH 2013, THEIR LATEST ABS RECALL (WHICH MAY START A FIRE) ONLY INCLUDES THIS MODEL AND YEAR STARTING JUNE 2013. I BELIEVE, MY CAR SHOULD ALSO QUALIFY FOR THIS RECALL. THANK YOU
