Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)The driver, passenger, and rear tailgate electronic locks have all failed in the last 6 months on the car. I'm constantly having to remind my kids and wife to lock the doors before they start driving. I'm particularly concerned about the rear cargo door. The lock is failed in the "locked" position and there is not a manual lever to pull from the interior or exterior to unlock and open the door. I no longer allow my kids to ride in the 3rd row seat out of fear that there will be an incident where I need to get them out of the Cargo door and it won't be available. The internet is full of reviews where this seems to be a widespread problem, but Lexus has not acknowledged and no formal recall has been issued. I reached out to Lexus this month to see if they would work with me on a solution, but was told my car is out of warranty. Any help would be appreciated.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
