The contact owns a 2017 Lexus NX200T. The contact stated while pulling into a parking space at approximately 5 MPH the vehicle suddenly accelerated, the contact said she had her foot on the brake pedal. The vehicle crashed into a parking pole barrier with the driver's side front grill. The contact was able to shift into park (P) just as she crashed into the pole. The contact stated the parking assist malfunction light was illuminated and several other unknown lights as well. The contact stated that there was damage to the bumper and the grill on the driver's side as well as a cracked headlight housing. The contact stated that there was no damage to the pole. The contact was able to drive the vehicle back to her residence, however, she had it towed to a dealer. The dealer diagnosed that there was a failure of the GPS system and the tire pressure sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 72,925.
