In over 25 years of ownership, I have never experienced an issue like this. While driving under normal road conditions, my new 2024 RX 350’s AC condenser was punctured by small road debris, causing a refrigerant leak and loss of air conditioning. The condenser is located directly behind the front bumper, leaving it exposed to minor debris, which I believe is a design vulnerability. Damage at such low mileage suggests this may affect other vehicles of this model. Reduced AC performance could impact driver comfort and visibility in extreme heat, and operating the system with low refrigerant may cause further mechanical damage. I am submitting this complaint to request that NHTSA review this as a potential design defect affecting multiple vehicles. I have also contacted Lexus for warranty repair.
