IN NOV 2008,WHILE DRIVING ON A VERY BUSY STREET, I NOTICED THE VEHICLE SHIFTING VERY HARD AND AT TIMES CAUSING A HARSH JERK. AS I ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN ON A VERY BUSY INTERSECTION TO RETURN THE VEHICLE HOME, THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER AND THE ERROR MESSAGE "ETC ENGINE FAILSAFE MODE" DISPLAYED ON THE SCREEN. THANKFULLY THE CAR SLOWLY COASTED ACROSS THE 3-LANE INTERSECTION WITHOUT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE LINCOLN DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED ($761.00) ONLY TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE HAPPEN 2 MONTHS LATER IN JAN 2009. WHEN I TURNED THE IGNITION ON TO START THE VEHICLE THE ENGINE GAVE OFF A VEHICLE LOUD NOISE, THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY LOST POWER, AND THE "ETC ENGINE FAILSAFE MODE" ERROR MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED AGAIN. TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE SAME LINCOLN DEALERSHIP AND THIS TIME THEY STATED THAT THE SOLENOID BODY IN THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR $1150.00. UPON ASKING WHY WOULD I GET THE SOME ERROR MESSAGE AND THE PROBLEM IS SOMETHING TOTALLY DIFFERENT, THE SERVICE ADVISOR STATED THAT THE ERROR MESSAGE DISPLAYED WAS A "FALSE CODE". *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 LINCOLN LS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25-30 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO JERK AND EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTY DRIVING UPHILL. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR AND REMAINED IN GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER AND TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SOLENOID PACK WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT RESPONDING. THE MECHANIC INFORMED HER TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT MAKE THE REPAIR. THE DEALER INFORMED HER OF A RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION AND STATED THAT SHE MUST FILE A COMPLAINT FIRST BEFORE THEY COULD ASSIST WITH THE VEHICLE. THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THE 2004 LINCOLN VEHICLE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 LINCOLN LS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD EXPERIENCE DIFFICULTY ACCELERATING WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHERE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS REPLACED ON TWO OCCASIONS. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE VARIOUS UNKNOWN REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 LINCOLN LS. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG SUDDENLY DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE DEPLOYMENT WAS DUE TO AN IMPACT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SERVICED BY THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT DID NOT NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCES BEFOREHAND. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 61,000. UPDATED 09/10/08 *BF THE AC STARTED TO BLOW HOT AIR. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE SUPPORT HANDLE IN THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE BROKE. UPDATE 09/16/08. *JB
PURCHASED A USED 2004 LINCOLN LS WITH 43,000 MILES,WITH PREMIUM WARRANTY MY TRANSMISSION NOW BEGINS TO HAVE HARD SHIFT IN 3-4 AND IN REVERSE. SOMETIMES WHEN I PUT ON THE BRAKES THE TRANSMISSION HIT HARD. JERKS THE CAR,TO THE BRAKES STOP IS DELAYED 10 SEC. I HAD A CAR COME IN TO MY LANE WITH OUT WARNING, AND DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION JERKS WHEN BRAKING MY CAR WAS STRUCK, MINOR BUT IF I WAS GOING FASTER I COULD OF LOST CONTROL. I SEE ALOT OF COMPLAINTS,WHY HAVEN'T THERE BEEN ANY ACTIONS. THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED AT $19,000 AND I STILL OWE. KNOW I HAVE A LEMON. I EVEN HAD MY TRANSMISSION FLUSHED. PLEASE NOTE THESE TRANSMISSIONS ARE SEALED NOT DIP STICKS,THIS FLUID CHANGED COST ME $250.00 AND I STILL HAVE PROBLEMS. THE E WARNING IS SHOWING. *TR
STALLING,JERKING SURGES. THREE TIMES THE CAR JUST CAME TO AN ABRUPT STOP. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. MY 77 YEAR OLD MOTHER WAS LEFT TERRIFIED. OVERHEATED JERKS INTO GEAR. FORD REPLACED ENGINE COIL,BUT SAID THEY COULD NOT REPLACE ALL AT ONCE WE WOULD HAVE TO CONTINUE TO BREAK DOWN IN ORDER TO FIX EACH COIL. THE CAR ALWAYS JERKS AND SURGES. THE RESULTS ARE THAT WE CAN NOT GO ON THE FREEWAY FOR FEAR OF BREAKING DOWN. NO LONG TRIPS ETC. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 LINCOLN LS. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. WHEN THE VEHICLE FINALLY BEGAN TO MOVE, IT FAILED TO GAIN SPEED. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE WITHIN THREE WEEKS; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL. ADDITIONAL REPAIRS WERE MADE ON MORE THAT ONE OCCASION, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE PROFUSELY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,231 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 58,200. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 LINCOLN LS. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE AND REALIZED THAT THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE JUMP STARTED. WHEN THE ENGINE IS SHUT OFF FOR 24-36 HOURS, THE BATTERY DIES. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY TWICE, BUT THE FAILURE STILL CONTINUED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,400.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 LINCOLN LS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE CONTACT SWERVED TO MISS AN ANIMAL AND STRUCK A TELEPHONE POLE ON THE FRONT CENTER OF THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED, BUT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT. THERE WERE NO DEATHS OR INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 33,517.
FIRST IT STARTED OUT IN JULY 2007,AC WASN'T BLOWING LIKE IT SHOULD BE REPLACED CONTROL HEADS. THEN MY TRAC CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND PARK BRAKE LIGHT WAS ON CHECKED AND ADVISED REPLACED SPEED SENSOR. THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON FOUND UPSTREAM BANK 2 02 SENSOR READING OUT OF SPEC. REPLACED 02 SENSOR AND CLEAR CODES. THAT COST ME$1285.51. WHICH I REPLACED SENSOR,SPARK PLUGS,COIL THEN IN JAN 2008 MY TRANSMISSION SHIFT HARD INTO REVERSE CHECKED AND ADVISED FOUND FAULTS IN SOLENOID,VALVE BODY,TRANS FILTER,REPAIRED CLEAR CODES,OK. REPLACED DRIVE BELT AND PULLEY. THAT BILL WAS 1318.72. WELL THEN IN 08/2008 SAME THING TRANSMISSION SHIFTS ROUGH CONCERN CYLINDER MISFIRE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BACK ON. THANK GOD HAD A RECALL FROM FORD ON THAT. FOUND CONTAMINATION IN BOTH SIDES REPLACED AFFECTED COILS,PLUGS,AND COVER WHICH THEY ONLY REPLACED 4 OF THE 8 COILS. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN 593.18. THEN ON 08/2008 COOLANT LEAK JUST 3 DAYS AFTER GETTING IT OUT OF THE SHOP HAD TO REPLACE LEAKING THERMOSTAT CONNECTOR. HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS RUNNING HOT UNTIL THEY WORKED ON IT 08/11/2008. *TR THE POWER WINDOW WAS INOPERATIVE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE REGULATOR/MOTOR. UPDATED 10/22/08. *JB
AIR-BAG DEPLOYED SUDDENLY WITHOUT ANY CAUSE. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 LINCOLN LS. WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED, THE VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO REPROGRAMMED THE PCM CONTROL MODULE. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY AND THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT WOULD ALSO RECUR WHILE DECREASING SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS WHERE THE PCM CONTROL MODULE WAS REPROGRAMMED APPROXIMATELY FOUR TIMES. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ENGINE COILS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED EVERY THREE TO SIX MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE SEALANT ON THE HOOD CAUSED WATER TO LEAK INTO THE ENGINE COILS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 122,975.
TL* - WHILE DRIVING THE THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND REVERTED TO AN IDLE MODE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHEN SHIFTING GEARS BETWEEN THIRD AND FOURTH GEARS AND PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. HE STATED THAT HE WOULD BE DRIVING SPEEDS FROM 25MPH TO 60 MPH AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER, AND THEY TOLD HIM THAT WHAT HE WAS EXPERIENCING WAS NORMAL, AND THEY REPLACED A SENSOR IN THE TRANSMISSION. *AK
SLOWED AND TURNED INTO PARKING SPACE NOTED VEHICLE WAS NOT STOPPING PRESSED FIRMER ON BRAKES DID NOT STOP HIT CEMENT POST AT CHATHAM COUNTY TAG DEPARTMENT WITH AN OFFICER WATCHING $10,000 DAMAGE LEFT DRIVER SIDE DAMAGE STARTED AT HEADLIGHT AND STOPPED AT WHEEL. I HAD PAIN IN NECK AND FROM SEAT BELT. *JB
THE VERY FIRST TIME MY 2004 LINCOLN LS BROKE DOWN ON ME WAS WHEN I STOPPED FOR GAS IN FEBRUARY 2006 AND IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 12,000 MILES ON IT. AFTER GETTING GAS I WAS UNABLE TO GET MY CAR STARTED. THE ENGINE WOULD TURN OVER, BUT WOULD NOT START. I MADE SURE THE GAS CAP WAS ON PROPERLY. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO GET THE CAR STARTED WITH NO AVAIL. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHERE I WAS INFORMED THAT A PVC HOSE CAME LOSE AND THAT'S WHY THE CAR WOULDN'T START. THE SECOND TIME I HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY 2004 LINCOLN LS WITH APPROXIMATELY 16,700 MILES ON IT, WAS ON SATURDAY, JULY 1ST, 2006. I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM RUNNING ERRANDS. I WAS APPROXIMATELY 9 BLOCKS AWAY FROM HOME GOING ABOUT 30 MILES PER HOUR WHEN THE LINCOLN COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN ON ME. I COASTED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, I ATTEMPTED TO START THE CAR AND THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD, I GO NO RESPONSE AT ALL FROM THE CAR. I CALLED MY HUSBAND AND ASKED FOR HIM TO CALL A TOW TRUCK THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT START. APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES LATER MY HUSBAND ARRIVED ON SCENE AND ATTEMPTED TO START THE CAR AND THE CAR STARTED AT WHICH TIME WE CALLED AN CANCELLED THE TOW TRUCK. ON MONDAY, WE TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED IT, AND LET THE SERVICE WRITER KNOW WHAT HAD HAPPENED. WE EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THAT WE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE LINCOLN NOT STARTING. WE TOLD HIM THAT WHEN THIS HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME, THAT THE DEALERSHIP THAT WE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO CLAIMED THAT IS WAS BECAUSE OF THE PVC HOSE THAT HAD CAME OFF, HE TOLD US THAT WOULD NOT HAVE CAUSED THE CAR NOT TO START. AS OF THURSDAY, JULY 6TH, WE WERE INFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC ON THE CAR AND WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND I DO NOT WANT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. AT 25-30 MILES PER HOUR IT WAS DIFFICULT ENOUGH TO TRY AND GET THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHEN THE CAR HAD LOST ALL POWER. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE TRAVELING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STRUCK A TIRE LYING IN THE ROAD. THE DAMAGE WAS IN THE FRONT END BETWEEN THE CENTER AND PASSENGER SIDE BELOW THE HEADLIGHT. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY WHEN THIS OCCURRED. THERE WAS NO INSPECTION TO DETERMINE WHY THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. TWO YEARS LATER, WHILE DRIVING UP A GRAVEL DRIVEWAY, THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT AIRBAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE DEALERSHIP DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND DETERMINED THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN A COLLISION CAUSING THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY. THERE WAS NO VISIBLE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AND THERE HAD BEEN NO RECENT COLLISION.
2004 LINCOLN LS HAS HAD 4 BRAKE FAILURES IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS. THERE IS A POSSIBLE DEFECT PER THE CONSUMER. *TS ***NAR*** THE CONSUEMR ALSO EXPERIENCED AN INGITION/STARTER PROBLEM WITHTHE VEHICEL ON 2/4/2006. *NM
2004 LINCOLN LS. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THAT I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE ACCELERATION. WHEN YOU PUSH ON THE GAS PETAL THE TOOL LIGHT COMES ON AND THE SPEED THAT I CAN DRIVE IS AROUND 30 MILES PER HOUR. I CAN NOT DRIVE THE CARE ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE CHANGED THE IGNITION COILS AND NOW I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IT IS THE THROTTLE BODY. I HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS ON AND OFF. *TR
(1) DRIVING ON A TWO LANE CURVY MOUNTAINOUS ROAD PASSING A LOGGING TRUCK. (2) CAR ENGINE FAILED RESULTING IN NO POWER, NO STEARING CONTROL AND NO BRAKES. THERE WAS NO PRIOR WARNING SUCH AS LIGHTS OR MESSAGES ON THE INSTRUMENT CONSOLE. THE LOGGING TRUCK NARROWLY MISSED US AS DID THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC. WE WERE VERY CLOSE TO BEING KILLED OR SERIOUSLY INJURED. (3) THE FAILURE WAS THE ENGINE MASS AIR FLOW (MAF) SENSOR RESULTING IN SHUT DOWN OF THE ENGINE.
DT: CONTACT STATES WHILE PARKING THE VEHICLE IT ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO A BUILDING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL SERVICE DEALER, THEY WERE GOING TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. *AK THE CONSUMERS FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED. *SC *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 LINCOLN LS. WHILE DRIVING OVER A SPEED BUMP AND DEPRESSING THE BREAK PEDAL, THE RPMS BEGAN TO INCREASE AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. THE CONTACT APPLIED EXCESSIVE FORCE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO STOP ACCELERATING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED SPORADICALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIANS WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED AN ENGINEER TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINEER STATED THE THROTTLE HAD TO BE REPLACED. APPROXIMATELY SIX YEARS AFTER THE THROTTLE WAS REPLACED THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED THE IDENTICAL FAILURE AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE 14 FREEWAY CHANGING LANES MY DRIVER'S SIDE SIDE IMPACT BAGS DELPLOYED WHILE DRIVING AROUND 80 MPH. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED.*AK
CONSUMER WAS DRIVING WHEN SUDDENLY THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG DEPLOYED, CAUSING INJURY TO THE PASSENGER'S ARM. CONSUMER HAD JUST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE , AND HAS REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO THE DEALER.*AK

IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL INTERMITTENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSIS AND DETERMINED THAT THE THROTTLE BOX AND TRANSMISSION WERE DEFECTIVE. THE THROTTLE BOX WAS REPLACED AND THE COMPUTER WAS REPROGRAMMED ALTHOUGH THE DEALER ADVISED HE WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHY THE VEHICLE WAS STALLING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
DRIVER'S AIR BAG DEPLOYED INADVERTENTLY WHILE DRIVING 80 MPH ON THE FREEWAY. CONSUMER INSISTED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT RUN OVER ANYTHING WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED.*AK

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES WHERE NUMEROUS UNKNOWN REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE VEHICLE BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
VEHICLE STALLED INTERMITTENTLY. VEHICLE WAS SERVICED SEVERAL TIMES. A WEEK AGO VEHICLE DIED AT THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. *AK
YOUR DRIVING ALONG , THE CAR SLOW DOWN THERE IS A METAL TO METAL NOISE, TRACTION LIGHT COMES ON, YOU STEP ON THE BRAKE AND THE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED CODE 92106 TP SENSOR. *TS ***NO ANSWER REQUIRED*** THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION, SUCH AS ERRATIC SHIFTING, HARSH ENGAGEMENT WHEN SHIFTING TO REVERSE. IN JAN 2005 THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION IN THE MAIL WHICH STATED THE VEHICLE WAS FILLED AT THE ASSEMBLY PLANT WITH A TRANSMISSION FLUID FORMULATION THAT, OVER TIME MAY CAUSE DELAYED AND HARSH REVERSE TRANSMISSION ENGAGEMENT. THE CONSUMER DECIDED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, UNTIL THE VEHICLE ALL OF A SUDDEN WENT INTO LIMP MODE. THE VEHICLE NEARLY STALLED AT AN INTERSECTION AND IT WOULD HARDLY ACCELERATE ABOVE 30 MPH. THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED OTHER PROBLEMS SUCH AS A FAILING HEADLINER, THE STEERING WAS SQUEAKING AND THE CABIN FILTER LIGHT STAYED ILLUMINATED. THE CD PLAYER WAS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HESITATED WHEN ACCELERATING, AND WHEN REMOVING PRESSURE FROM THE ACCELERATOR TO COAST. THE CONSUMER STATED HIS VEHICLE NOW HAS SCRATCHES AND INDENTATIONS IN THE REAR BUMPER FROM WHEN THE VEHICLE SHIFTED ABRUPTLY AND HIT A PARKED VEHICLE. *JB
DT: CONTACT STATED WHEN PUTTING ON THE BRAKES THE PEDAL PICKED UP THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, CAUSING THE CAR TO ACCELERATE UNNECESSARILY. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT DOWN FURTHER WHEN COMPRESSED THAN THE GAS PEDAL DID WHEN IT COMPRESSED. THE DEALER WAS TRYING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS LOOKING AT THE COMPUTER SYSTEM IN THE CAR. THE CONSUMER TALKED TO SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE THAT HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM. UNDER LOAD GOING UP HILLS VEHICLE WILL BUCK/LOSES POWER ON ACCELERATION. POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) UPGRADED. RIGHT SIDE VISOR INOPERATIVE AND REPLACED. LEFT FRONT SILL PANEL POPPED OFF. SILL PANEL REATTACHED. CIGARETTE LIGHTER INOPERATIVE AND REPLACED. WHEN STEPING ON GAS VEHICLE HESITATES THEN TAKES OFF. NO PROBLEM FOUND. TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LAMPS WERE ON. LEFT FRONT ABS SENSOR REPLACED. *TT
INTERMITTENTLY WHEN RELEASING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL VEHICLE WOULD NOT DECELERATE, IT CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE UNTIL CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES. DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING, THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD SUDDENLY ILLUMINATED, AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKES ENGAGED WITHIN SECONDS. WHEN THIS OCCURRED THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY WENT TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS FLAT BEDDED TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND INDICATED THAT THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED BECAUSE OF A COMPUTER FAILURE AND THE ENGINEERS ARE WORKING ON IT. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 12 DAYS, IN WHICH THIS FAILURE HAS OCCURRED 3 TIMES WHILES BEING TEST DRIVEN. *LA
THE HORN ON MY CAR DOES NOT BLOW AT TIMES. THE DEALER SAID TO SIMPLY PUSH HARDER. DEALER CHECKED ANOTHER SIMILAR CAR ON THE LOT AND SAID IT WAS THE SAME. WHEN THE HORN IS NEEDED IN TRAFFIC SITUATIONS YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO THINK "PUSH THE HORN HARDER". MY CAR IS NEW AND THIS SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM.*AK
04 LS WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN 2004. I HAVE HAD CONTINUAL MAJOR PROBLEMS. BEGINNING IN 2004, THE SOLENOID PACK WAS REPLACED, FOLLOWED BY THE FOLLOWING: ALL 6 COILS, A NEW TRANSMISSION (2008), HEATER CORE (TWICE), FUEL SENDING UNIT, OXYGEN SENSOR, SOME HOSE/GASKET (CAN'T REMEMBER) AND NOW THE IGNITION COIL IS BAD. I'M SURE THERE IS SOMETHING I HAVE FORGOTTEN. MY CAR HAS NEVER RUN GOOD FOR MORE THAN 4-6 MONTHS AT A TIME AND HAS COST ME A LOT OF MONEY, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE WARRANTY IS OVER. *TR
