TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 LINCOLN MKS. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE, BUT EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,000.
I WAS DRIVING INTO MY GARAGE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE WHEN CAR ACCELERATED TO FULL SPEEDC. I APPLIED FULL PRESSURE TO BRAKE. CAR FAILED TO STOP. CAR ONLY STOPED WHEN I PUT SHIFT LEVER IN NEUTERAL AFTER GOING THROUGH REAR WALL OF GARAGE. IF SOMEONE HAD BEEN IN FRONT OF THE CAR THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED.
TL* THE CONTACT LEASED A 2010 LINCOLN MKS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE PUSH TO START BUTTON WAS DEPRESSED, THE RADIO WOULD ENGAGE AS OPPOSED TO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO DEPRESS THE BUTTON TWICE BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD START. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO LOAD CD'S INTO THE CD PLAYER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CD'S WERE THE CAUSE OF THE CD PLAYER FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHORTLY AFTER, THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 5,500. UPDATED 1/25/11 *CN UPDATED 02/04/11*JB
