2015 Lincoln MKZ Speed Control & Cruise Problems

The contact owns a 2015 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated while stopped at a traffic signal with her foot on the brake pedal, the vehicle suddenly accelerated to approximately 10 MPH and crashed into the rear of the vehicle in front of her. The contact's vehicle crashed two times into the rear of the other vehicle. The contact said she was able to place the vehicle in park (P) and turned it off. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the front bumper had nearly detached, the front grill was fractured, and the headlights were not broken. The vehicle the contact crashed into had dents and scratches on the rear bumper, all rear lights were intact. The contact stated that both vehicles were drivable and drove away from the scene of the crash. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A BUILDING AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,200. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
