Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH A NOISE WAS IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DROVE ONTO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO DETERMINE WHERE THE NOISE WAS COMING FROM AND NOTICED THAT THE CHROME WAS COMING OFF OF THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE WHEEL. THE CHROME PEELED TO THE POINT WHERE THE RIM WEIGHTS WERE HANGING OFF OF THE VEHICLE AND HITTING THE BRAKE CALIPER. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WHO STATED THAT THE RIMS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DIFFICULT TO DRIVE BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL WAS VIBRATING AND MADE IT DIFFICULT TO CONTROL THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT NOTICED ADDITIONAL COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE RIMS AND THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT PROVIDED ANY ASSISTANCE TOWARD THE REPLACEMENT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,200.
OWNER OF SUV RETURNED CONTINENTIAL TIRES (255-70R-17, DOT UNKNOWN) THAT WERE PART OF RECALL. AFTER INSPECTION ONLY 2 TIRES WERE OFFERED AT PRO-RATED PRICE. TIRE MERCHANT WANTED TO REPLACE WITH SAME RECALLED CONTINENTIAL TIRES. THIS IS THE SECOND SET OF CONTINENTAL TIRES THAT HAVE BEEN PRO-RATED FOR VEHICLE. TIRES ARE DEFECTIVE AND CONSUMER IS REQUESTING TOTAL REPLACEMENT FOR ALL FIVE TIRES. *TT
