2006 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR THE TRANSMISSION IS GOT PROBLEMS AND I FELL OF A RUNNING BOARD THAT WAS DEFECTIVE WAS HOSPITALIZED I ASKED DOWNY FORD IF THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TRANS THEY SAID NO AND REFUSED TO CHECK THE TRANS WHEN LAST SERVICED. *TR
2006 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR OWNED OR LEASED BY MY DAUGHTER/SON IN LAW ALMOST LOST LEFT REAR WHEEL ON JANUARY 27, 2008. UPON INSPECTION, LEFT REAR WHEEL WAS FOUND TO BE LOOSE. WHEN HUB CAP WAS REMOVED IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT TWO OF THE THREADED WHEEL LUGS HAD BROKEN OFF WITH THE LUG NUTS STILL ON THE BROKEN PART OF THE STUDS. THE OTHER FOUR LUG NUTS WHERE LOOSE. THIS VEHICLE WAS CARRYING THREE BABY GIRLS (TRIPLETS) AND THEIR MOTHER AND FATHER WHEN THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS WITHIN A MINUTE OR SO OF LOOSING THE WHEEL. WITH POTENTIALLY DISASTROUS RESULTS. THE WHEEL STUDS SHOULD NEVER HAVE SEPARATED EVEN IF THEY WERE OVERTIGHTENED. THE THREADS SHOULD HAVE STRIPPED FIRST. WHEEL STUDS MAY HAVE BEEN DEFECTIVE AND THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. *TR
THE SUSPENSION ON THIS SUV IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS I HAVE REPLACED THE SUSPENSION AIRBAGS OH RINGS COMPRESSORS MULTIPLE TIMES AND EACH TIME IT TURNS COLD AND I LIVE IN ARIZONA THE CAR DROPS AND ON ABLE TO DRIVE IT DUE TO EXTREME VIOLENT SHAKING TO WEAR THE CAR SEEMS LIKE IT'S GOING TO ROLL OVER SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH THE SUSPENSION ON THIS VEHICLE LINCOLN NEEDS TO OWN UP TO THIS MISTAKE
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND FLAMES WERE NOTICED UNDER THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE EXPLODED FIVE TIMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HER FACE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 32,000.
1: 10/19/08 I WAS DRIVING 70+MPH AND ALL OF SUDDEN CAR GIVES AN ENGINE FAILURE/SAFE MODE SIGNAL WHICH LOCKED WHEEL, NOT ALLOWING ACCELERATION. ONCE ABLE TO GET TO SIDE OF THE ROAD, I HAD TO TRY AT LEAST 2 TIMES UNTIL FINALLY CAR TURNED ON. IT WAS TOWED AND DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS. 2: 11/16/07 STARTED CAR DROVE ABOUT 2-3 MILES AND THEN WHEN I HAD TO RESTART THE CAR, IT DID NOT COME ON. IT WAS TOWED AND BATTERY WAS REPLACED 3: 7/16/08 TURNED ON CAR, DROVE FOR ALMOST 2MILES, STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND WHEN I HAD TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR GAVE ME A ENGINE FAILURE/SAFE MODE SIGNAL. DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. THE VEHICLE HAS FALCON, SIZE P30540R23 TIRES. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH A SPARE. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE DRY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE SIDEWALL HAD BEEN PUNCTURED, HOWEVER, THE CONTACT DISAGREED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 13,700. UPDATED 10/23/07 *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY BETWEEN 40-45 MPH WHEN THE SAFE ENGINE MODE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THEN THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY STALLED. THE ENGINE RESTARTED AND RESUMED OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FIVE TIMES REGARDING THE SIMILAR FAILURE. THE TECHNICIAN REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTERIZED SYSTEM SOFTWARE AND THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED AT A DIFFERENT TIME. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AFTER THE REPAIRS. ALSO, MOST RECENT THE TEMPERATURE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED DURING THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND A TROUBLE CODE WAS NOT DETECTED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED IN WHICH THERE WERE NO RESOLUTIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WE HAVE BEEN HAVING BRAKE, TRANSMISSION AND AIR SUSPENSION PROBLEMS THAT HAVE BECOME MORE FREQUENT. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER MORE THAN SIX TIMES TO BE REPAIRED, BUT THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING AS THEY CLAIMED THAT COMPUTER SHOWED NOTHING HAPPENED OR THE COULD NOT FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEMS. FORD SENT A FIELD REPRESENTATIVE TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE, BUT HE SAID THE SAME THING. WAS TOLD BY A DEALER THAT FORD DID RISK STUDIES AND WEIGHED THE COST OF ADMITTING TO AN ISSUE, AND LETTING A FEW PEOPLE GET INJURED OR DIE OVER THE COST IT WOULD PAY IN THE EVENT OF A RECALL. THE DEALER WE PURCHASED OUR LINCOLN NAVIGATOR FROM HAS BANNED ME FROM GETTING THIS LOOKED AT AGAIN AT HIS DEALERSHIP, AND AS MENTIONED IN THE FORD DATABASE I AM FLAGGED WHEREVER I GO. ALSO, THEY HAVE HAD AN AUTHORIZED FORD AFTER MARKET VENDOR INSTALL AN ILLEGAL DEVICE ON MY VEHICLE TV VIEWING BY THE DRIVER, AT THE DEALERSHIP AND AS A PART OF THEIR NORMAL SELLING PRACTICE.*AK
WE HAVE BEEN HAVING BRAKING AND TRANSMISSION ISSUES WITH OUR 2006 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR AND HAVE BEEN TOLD TODAY THAT THE VEHICLE HAS ISSUES WITH BRAKE ROTORS OVERHEATING, ABS FAILURE AND TRANSMISSION FAILURE. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THESE CONDITIONS CAN HAPPEN SUDDENLY AS WE HAVE EXPERIENCED. *JB
(1) TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM FAILURE (4) PLUS TIMES. (2) BRAKES BEGAN TO PULSATE, THE WHEELS STARTS TO GRIP AND GRIND TO MAKE A TRACTION ADJUSTMENT AND THE ENGINE STARTS TO STALL. THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM ACTIVATES DURING NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS.(3) DEALER SERVICE MANGER REUBEN FERNANDEZ AT FREEWAY LINCOLN DEALERSHIP IN CALIFORNIA HAS TRIED TO DUPLICATE THE CONDITION AND HAS NOT BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN DOING SO. THE DEALER'S SERVICE REQUEST THAT I DRIVE THE CAR UNTIL THE CONDITION WORSENS BEFORE HE CAN FIX THE PROBLEM. THE SUV'S COMPUTER WAS ADJUSTED AND RESET. THE FAILURE HAS ACCRUED TWICE SINCE THEN. THE DEALER CURRENTLY HAS THE SUV AND IV'E REQUESTED THE CAR BE REPLACED BY FORD. *NM
