MAZDA ISSUED A RECALL IN MARCH 2020 FOR THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS ON THIS CAR, THE PARTS REQUIRED TO REMEDY THIS SITUATION ARE BACKORDERED, AND HAVE BEEN BACKORDERED SINCE MARCH. AS OF TODAY, MAZDA IS STATING THAT THE PARTS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR 4-5 MONTHS! DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS ARE REQUIRED TO PASS THE ANNUAL VIRGINIASTATE AUTO INSPECTION. MY INSPECTION IS DUE THIS MONTH, AND MAZDA HAS EFFECTIVELY RENDERED MY VEHICLE ILLEGAL TO OPERATE IN THE STATE OF VIRGINIA! *TR
A SMALL CHIP WAS ON FOUND ON THE FRONT OF THE WINDSHIELD AND I WAS NOTIFIED BY THE DEALER THAT THE CHIP WAS SMALL AND THAT THEY THE REPAIR WOULD FIX IT WITH RESIN. THE NEXT DAY A CRACK AROUND 18 INCHES FORMED ALONG THE WINDSHIELD. . AFTER THE CRACK WAS FORMED THEY STATED THEY WEREN'T RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WINDSHIELD AFTER THE REPAIR. THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE QUALITY OF THE WINDSHIELD MAZDA WON'T HOLD THEMSELVES RESPONSIBLE FOR. THIS NEW WINDSHIELD HAS BEEN QUOTED FOR $500 TO REPLACE. *TR
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS SINCE PURCHASE SEPTEMBER 15, 2016, THE CAR WILL INTERMITTENTLY UPON APPLYING THE BRAKE TO STOP, ACCELERATE RAPIDLY. IF MY FOOT WASN'T ON THE BRAKE I WOULD BE PROPELLED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC OR POSSIBLY INTO A CROSSWALK. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR AND TOLD THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THIS EVENT AND ALL CHECKS OF THE CAR WERE NORMAL. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR. THE LAST EVENT WAS YESTERDAY, MAY 24, 2020. I HAVE READ OF OTHER OWNERS OF THIS 2016 GRAND TOURING CX-5 MAZDA TO HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH NO ACTION ON THE PART OF MAZDA. THIS IS EVEN AFTER ACCIDENTS OCCURRED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 MAZDA CX5. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V063000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT CALLED SANTA MARIA MAZDA (1001 E BATTLES RD, SANTA MARIA, CA 93454, (805) 925-0077) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FROM THE MANUFACTURER HOWEVER, SHE WAS PROVIDED THE OPTION TO PURCHASE ON HER OWN TO HAVE THE PART REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE HYDRAULIC BELT TENSIONER WAS LEAKING. THEY QUOTED ME $400 FOR REPAIR AND STATED THIS IS A WEAR ITEM YET THE MANUAL AND USER GUIDE PROVIDED BY MAZDA DO NOT STATE THAT THIS IS REQUIRED TO BE REPLACED ONLY INSPECTED. MY CAR HAS LESS THEN 46,000 MILES AND THIS PART WAS NEARLY AT THE POINT OF FAILURE. IF THIS PART FAILS AND THE BELT GETS TOO LOOSE OR SNAPS, YOUR CAR WILL SHUT DOWN. ESSENTIALLY, IF THAT BELT BREAKS, YOUR ALTERNATOR WILL STOP CHARGING THE BATTERY, THE DASH WILL LIGHT UP LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE, AND THE CAR WILL SPUTTER TO A COMPLETE STOP. NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT THE BELT ALSO TURNS THE WATER PUMP. SO WHILE THE CAR COULD SHUT DOWN IN ORDER TO AVOID OVERHEATING. MAZDA HAS STATED THEY WILL NOT COVER THIS AS IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY FOR A WHAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A DEFECTIVE PART. IF YOU HEAR KNOCKING SOUNDS FROM YOUR ENGINE GET YOUR VEHICLE INSPECTED ASAP!
MY CAR WAS PARKED IN A LEVEL GARAGE OVERNIGHT AND THE NEXT DAY AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES THE ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE (EPB) LIGHT STARTED FLASHING ON BOTH THE DASHBOARD AND THE EPB CONTROL LEVER AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WARNING LIGHT WAS LIT. IT SEEMED TO BE DRIVING FINE, AND I NEVER ENGAGED THE PARKING BRAKE SO I THOUGHT I MAY HAVE DONE SO ACCIDENTALLY. I PULLED OVER, TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TRIED TO DISENGAGE THE PARKING BRAKE BUT IT JUST KEPT FLASHING. I TOOK IT TO MY GARDEN CITY MAZDA DEALERSHIP TO SERVICE IT FOR THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS RECALL, SO I TOLD THEM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AS WELL. WHILE WAITING FOR THE APPOINTMENT, SOME DAYS THE LIGHTS STAYED OFF AND SOME DAYS CAME ON. AT THE DEALERSHIP, I PAID $140 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PARKING BRAKE MODULE SHORTED OUT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AT A COST OF OVER $900. I ASKED IF THERE WAS A CHANCE MY BRAKES WOULD MALFUNCTION OR IF I COULD DRIVE THE CAR SAFELY AND WAS TOLD THE BRAKES WOULD NOT BE AFFECTED, SO DUE TO THE COST I OPTED TO NOT HAVE IT REPAIRED. THIS CAR IS LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS SAFETY DEFECT. MY ODOMETER READS APPROXIMATELY 55,000. NOW I HAVE TO DRIVE AROUND WITH A VERY DISTRACTING RED PARKING BRAKE WARNING LIGHT FLASHING ON AND OFF CONSTANTLY AND MY BRAKE WARNING LIGHT LIT. THIS DISTRACTION IS AN ADDITIONAL SAFETY CONCERN. I'M NOT SURE IF GARDEN CITY MAZDA REPORTED THIS ISSUE TO THE MANUFACTURER, BUT APPARENTLY MAZDA IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE BUT NO SAFETY RECALL HAS BEEN MADE. WHY? I FEEL AT THE VERY LEAST, EVEN IF NO SAFETY RECALL, THAT CUSTOMERS SHOULD HAVE THIS ISSUE REPAIRED AT NO COST AS SOON AS THEY REPORT IT TO MAZDA. PERHAPS ABC'S 7 ON YOUR SIDE, PIX 11'S [XXX] /WHAT A SHAME, NBC'S BETTER GET [XXX], OR ANY CONSUMER INVESTIGATIVE UNIT WOULD BE INTERESTED IN FEATURING THIS PROBLEM - BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED! WHILE BACKING OUT FROM A DRIVEWAY INTO A CITY STREET, I SHIFTED THE VEHICLE FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE. THE GEAR SHIFT INDICATED THAT THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE, BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ROLL BACKWARD AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. THE ENGINE THEN STOPPED, AND THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE PUSHED FROM THE STREET OUT OF THE TRAVEL LANES. *TR
THE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE (EPB) HAS MALFUNCTIONED. THE CAR WAS PARKED IN A LEVEL GARAGE OVERNIGHT, WITHOUT THE PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED. WHEN THE CAR WAS TURNED ON THE EPB LIGHT CAME ON AND IS FLASHING, AS WELL AS THE BRAKE LIGHT WARNING. THE WARNING LIGHTS REMAIN ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH EVEN AFTER MULTIPLE RESTARTS. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IS NOT ENGAGED AND THE CAR SEEMS TO DRIVE FINE. HOWEVER I HAVE NO EMERGENCY BRAKE NOW, WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
AIRBAG LIGHT FLASHING ON DASH. *TR
ON MARCH 1, 2020, MY WIFE WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT SOUTH ON RT. 41 (TAMIAMI HIGHWAY) IN NORTH PORT, FLORIDA WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN SHE HEARD AN 'EXPLOSION' THAT STARTLED HER. IT WAS THE SUNROOF THAT EXPLODED FOR NO APPARENT REASON ON OUR 2016 MAZDA CX-5 PURCHASED IN SEPTEMBER 28, 2015 AND CURRENTLY WITH 62,000+ MILES ON IT. FORTUNATELY, THE UNDERLYING SUNROOF PANEL WAS CLOSED, SO NONE OF THE GLASS FRAGMENTS ENDED UP IN HER FACE/ARMS/CHEST, WHICH, IF HAPPENED, COULD HAVE ALSO CAUSED AN ACCIDENT.
RECALL NOTICE RECEIVED MARCH 2020. MAY 5 SERVICE CALL PARTS NOT AVAILABLE, EMAILED 3 MORE TIMES AND STILL NO PARTS AVAILABLE OR CONTACT OF ANY SORT WITHOUT MY INITIATING. CALLED IN SEPTEMBER AND WAS TOLD I WOULD GET A LETTER WITHIN NEXT MONTH AND THAT PARTS WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. STILL NO CONTACT FROM MAZDA AS OF OCTOBER 15. SOMEHOW THEY KEEP MANUFACTURING CARS BUT CAN'T GET AROUND TO MANUFACTURING RECALL PARTS.

I HAD A RECALL FOR MY DAYTIME RUNNING HEADLIGHT OVER A YEAR AGO, AND I TOOK IN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT FIXED. NOW, OVER A YEAR LATER THEY STILL DON'T HAVE THE PARTS IN. IT'S BEEN VERY FRUSTRATING, ESPECIALLY THROUGH THE WINTER MONTHS.

UNKNOWN cause for short battery life. The battery has been changed 4-5 times since 2020 with a brand new battery. The alternator has been checked and is fine. The dealership is going to check my vehicle again but this is an issue for multiple people with the same vehicle model.
I WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS THAT THIS IS NOW THE SECOND TIME I HAVE HAD TO TAKE MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE AND REPAIRS DUE TO THE SOY-BASED COMPONENTS THEY USE IN THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS THAT HAVE BEEN CONTINUOUSLY EATEN THRU BY SQUIRRELS. MY CAR'S HORN AND HEADLIGHTS NO LONGER WORK AGAIN AND THIS IS NOW THE SECOND TIME. I ASK THAT THESE ELEMENTS ARE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY FOR SAFETY REASONS. WIRE HARNESSES ARE A CRITICAL COMPONENT TO VEHICLE SAFETY. WIRES THAT CAN DEGRADE DURING THE NORMAL SERVICE LIFE OF A VEHICLE CAN BE DEADLY. THINK ABOUT A WIRE HARNESS WITH INSULATION THAT'S BEEN EATEN THAT CONTROLS THE ABS, FUEL INJECTION OR AN AIRFLOW SENSOR, AND YOU HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD AND IT SHORTS. NOW YOU LOSE POWER OR BRAKING. ARE WE WILLING TO HAVE SOMEONE'S VEHICLE FAIL AND THE PEOPLE SERIOUSLY HURT OR DEAD BECAUSE OF A FUNDAMENTAL DESIGN FLAW? I CAN EMAIL PICTURES FROM MY PHONE TO PROVIDE EVIDENCE OF THE DAMAGE. AGAIN THESE WIRES SHOULD NEVER BE SOY BASED. I DON'T FEEL LIKE DYING ANYTIME SOON BECAUSE A RODENT CHEWED THROUGH A CRITICAL COMPONENT.
THE "AUTO" FOR HEADLIGHTS / DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS WERE TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING IN RAINING DAYS OR IN DIMMED LIGHTING CONDITION IN THE EVENING, ON LOCAL ROAD AND HIGHWAY.

LA GRANGE ROAD, COUNTRYSIDE, IL 60525 (708) 354-2700 WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THAT PARTS TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 98,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
LED DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS DO NOT WORK CAUSING MY VEHICLE NOT TO BE AS VISIBLE AS IT SHOULD BE ON THE ROAD DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS . ALL THE OTHER LIGHTS ARE ALSO LED . I AM WORRIED ABOUT FUTURE PERFORMANCE . JUST PURCHASED VEHICLE 2/3/2020 , DO NOT KNOW WHEN LIGHTS FIRST MALFUNCTIONED .
LED RUNNING LIGHTS FLICKERING ONLY 29000 MILES, PAST THE 36 MONTH WARRANTY. REQUIRES REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AT A COST OF$1000+.MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.MAZDA SHOULD EXTEND WARRANTY TO 100,000. NOT SAFE AND TO COSTLY TO REPAIR
ONE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT IS NOW FLICKERING. IT IS NOT SERVICEABLE AND THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT CAPSULE MUST BE REPLACED AT ABOUT $1300 PER SIDE. I AM SURE THE OTHER ONE WILL FAIL SOON ALSO! CAR HAS 61000 MILES AND IS 4 YEARS OLD. AS DRL`S ARE OEM, IT MUST BE FIXED TO PASS NYS INSPECTION. OF COURSE IT IS ALSO A PROVEN SAFETY FEATURE!
AT 76,000 THE DRIVER'S DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT FAILED TO ILLUMINATE WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. BEFORE IT WENT COMPLETELY OUT I NOTICED IT FLICKERED.
THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FAILED. THE PROCESS TO REPAIR THE LIGHTS IS EXORBITANTLY EXPENSIVE AND I BELIEVE WILL DISSUADE CONSUMERS FROM GETTING THEM REPAIRED DUE TO THE HIGH COST. DISSUADING CUSTOMERS FROM GETTING THIS REPAIRED IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. TO REPAIR THE LIGHT BULBS COSTS MORE THAN $1000. THE REPAIR REQUIRES THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT TO BE REPLACED, AND ALSO REQUIRES REMOVING AND REINSTALLING THE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY. THIS IS JUST TO REPLACE A LIGHT! THIS IS A VERY POOR DESIGN AND WILL IMPACT OWNER SAFETY IN MY OPINION.
The 'Infotainment' system in my car stopped functioning which in turn disabled the back-up camera. Mazda knew about this issue, which has been widely acknowledged as a manufacturer's defect in the system, shortly after my purchase of these vehicle. They took responsibility for this issue in the Seattle area when a large number of these units all became defective at once. However, they seemingly went out of their way to not acknowledge this issue to the rest of their customers. They issued a TSB to their dealers (tech service bulletin 09-017/17) to help them resolve the issue with any dealer inventories, but there was no notice to customers nor any recall. The absence of the rear view camera is a safety issue that I believe should have been addressed.

THE CONTACT CALLED GARLYN SHELTON MAZDA (5700 SW H K DODGEN LOOP #363, TEMPLE, TX 76504) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
SBS INADVERTENT ACTIVATION WHILE PULLING INTO A CLEAR PARKING STALL
AT 15K MILES THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR BRAKE CALIPER FAILED, CAUSING THE BRAKE TO DRAG AND OVERHEAT DURING A 400 MILE HOLIDAY ROADTRIP. BY THE TIME THE PROBLEM WAS DISCOVERED BY THE ELDERLY OWNERS, THE REAR PADS WERE WORN DOWN TO THE BACKING PLATES AND THE ROTORS WERE HEAVILY SCORED. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED OR OTHER INDICATION ALERTING THE DRIVER TO THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE REAR CALIPERS AND ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE (EPB) GIVEN THE TSBS THAT MAZDA HAS PUBLISHED ON THE MATTER AS WELL AS THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE AND WITH THE NHTSA. MAZDA REPLACED THE FAILED DRIVER'S SIDE CALIPER UNDER WARRANTY BUT DECLINED TO COVER THE DAMAGED PADS AND ROTOR CAUSED BY THEIR DEFECTIVE ASSEMBLY EVEN AFTER ESCALTING THE ISSUE TO CORPORATE. THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL BUT MAZDA WOULD RATHER JEOPARDIZE THE SAFETY OF THEIR CUSTOMER (BY NOT PROACTIVELY REPLACING THE PASSENGER SIDE CALIPER) AND CHARGE THEM $500 FOR A BRAKE JOB TO CORRECT COLLATERAL DAMAGE CAUSED BY THEIR DEFECTIVE PARTS. WE HAVE BEEN LONG-TIME LOYAL CUSTOMERS OF MAZDA BUT THEY HAVE ACTED UNETHICALLY IN THIS INSTANCE AND DID NOT FULFILL THEIR WARRANTY CLAIM IN GOOD FAITH.
DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT DAY TIME LED LIGHT FLICKERS AND IT HAS HALF OF THE INTENSITY COMPARED WITH THE OTHER HEADLIGHT IF DRIVEN OR STATIONARY. THIS CONDITION STARTED TO BECOME NOTICEABLE TWO MONTHS AGO AND IT IS GETTING WORSE AND CLOSE TO THE POINT THAT THE DTL LED IS NOT VISIBLE ANYMORE AND THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT UNIT MUST BE REPLACED. MAZDA KNOWS ABOUT THE CONDITION AND CLAIMS THAT THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE AND REFUSES TO REPLACE IT.
MANY COMPLAINTS ON GOOGLE OF FLICKERING DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS ON HEADLIGHTS THAT ARE A HAZARD AND DISTRACTION TO ONCOMING DRIVERS, MAY CAUSE SEIZURES FOR SOME. MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME CAR HAVE ONLY HAD THIS CAR 3 YEARS AND MAZDA WILL NOT RESPOND TO THIS OR ACKNOWLEDGE THE NEED FOR THIS RECALL, TO HAVE THIS FIXED IS A MINIMUM OF $1200. LIGHTING IS NECESSARY AND IF IT IS FAULTY, IT BECOMES DANGEROU.S THIS NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED AND MAZDA NEEDS TO TAKE RESPINSIBILITY. TOO MANY VEHICLE OWNERS ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM.
NOTICED PASSENGER SIDE LED HEADLIGHT FLICKERING WHILE STOPPED BEHIND ANOTHER CAR AT TRAFFIC LIGHT. INSPECTED THE LIGHT ONCE I GET HOME AND FOUND THE DAY TIME RUNNING PORTION OF THE HEAD LIGHT ASSEMBLY IS THE PROBLEM. IT NOW FLICKERS AT ALL TIMES SINCE THIS COMES ONE DURING THE DAY AUTOMATICALLY. SERVICE DEPARTMENT FROM DEALER THE CAR WAS PURCHASED SAID THIS IS NOT COVERED BY MAZDA AND IT WOULD BE OUT POCKET REPAIR ($1,200).
THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT ON MY 2016 MAZDA CX-5 GRAND TOURING STARTED FLICKERING ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE A FEW WEEKS AGO. I'VE HAD OTHER DRIVERS HONK OR FLASH THEIR LIGHTS AT ME DURING THE DAY (ONCOMING TRAFFIC) MOST CERTAINLY DUE TO THE ANNOYANCE OF THE FLICKERING LED. THIS SEEMS TO POSE A SAFETY HAZARD TO OTHERS AND MYSELF. THE ONLY SOLUTION MAZDA CURRENTLY HAS IS TO REPLACE THE WHOLE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AT AN APPROXIMATE COST OF $1,200. I CANNOT AFFORD THIS FIX ESPECIALLY WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE LED LIGHT LIKELY TO FAIL AT ANY TIME BRINGING THE COST TO $2,400. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN TO OTHER DRIVERS ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT HAVE AN ADVERSE REACTION TO THE STROBE-EFFECT NATURE OF THE FLICKERING LIGHT THAT CAN TRIGGER SEIZURES. IT IS ALSO A SAFETY CONCERN TO ME IF I'M LESS VISIBLE TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I HAVE VIEWED 100'S OF COMPLAINTS FOR THIS VERY SAME PROBLEM AND IT SEEMS ONLY APPROPRIATE FOR MAZDA TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THIS POORLY DESIGNED/MANUFACTURED COMPONENT.

TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE AND REQUIRED $1200 TO FIX/REPLACE THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. UNACCEPTABLE TO PAY FOR THE TECHNOLOGY PACKAGE FOR LED DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS ONLY FOR THEM TO DIE AT JUST OVER 3 YEARS. WROTE A LETTER TO MAZDA NORTH AMERICA CORPORATE OFFICE 4 MONTHS AGO BUT NO RESPONSE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 MAZDA CX-5. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NAPLES MAZDA (6387 AIRPORT PULLING RD N, NAPLES, FL 34109, 239-597-9607) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEATER CORE WAS CLOGGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED MANUFACTURER COMMUNICATION NUMBERS: 10091444 AND SA218, WHICH STATED THAT AN OVERHEATED HEATER CORE WAS DUE TO CLOGGING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THESES CODES INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A KNOWN ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBER: 124474827. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE HEATER CORE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 14,870.
INTERMITTENTLY, THE REAR ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKES DO NOT FULLY RELEASE. THIS CAUSES THE REAR BRAKE PADS TO WEAR ON THE ROTORS. THIS IN TURN RESULTS IN PREMATURE BRAKE WEAR, EXCESSIVE HEAT, AND A BURNING SMELL. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES IN ALL DIFFERENT WEATHER CONDITIONS.
THERE WAS A THUMPING SOUND COMING FROM THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL, AT SLOW SPEEDS ON A DIRT ROAD. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO THE REPAIR SHOP I WAS TOLD THAT THE BUSHINGS, LOWER CONTROL ARMS AND STRUTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I KNOW THERE IS A RECALL ON SOME OF THE CARS LIKE MINE, BUT APPARENTLY MINE IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. HOWEVER, I DO NOT THINK IT IS A COINCIDENCE TO HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEMS.
THE LED DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT IN BOTH THE RIGHT AND LEFT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY HAVE FAILED. ON ONE SIDE THE ENTIRE LED STRIP HAS FAILED AND ON THE OTHER SIDE THE LED STRIP IS FLASHING. THIS LENDS ITSELF TO MY CAR BEING LESS VISIBLE: AS WELL AS' BEING A DISTRACTION TO OTHER DRIVERS SEEING THE FLASHING IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR. THESE PROBLEMS WERE NOT THE RESULT OF ANY INCIDENT, THE LED STRIPS JUST FAILED FROM NORMAL USE IN A MUCH SHORTER SPAN THAN APPROPRIATE.
AT 30,000 MILES, BUT OUT OF WARRANTY THE DRIVER'S DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHT STARTED FLICKERING AND AT TIMES WAS COMPLETELY OUT. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THE ENTIRE LIGHT MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE PART WAS$1000.00. DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT FLICKERING OCCURS WHILE DRIVING & WHEN CAR IS PARKED WITH MOTOR RUNNING.
DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT (LED HALO) ON RIDER'S SIDE FLICKERING. VEHICLE HAS UNDER 50K MILES. HAS AGED OUT OF WARRANTY. ENTIRE UNIT MUST BE REPLACED AT A COST EXCEEDING $1200. A FLICKERING LIGHT IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND REDUCES VISIBILITY. CAN ALSO BE SEEN AS A DISTRACTION TO OTHER CARS ON THE ROAD.

SHE HAD INITIALLY TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO HERTRICH'S CAPITOL MAZDA(1127 S DUPONT HWY, DOVER, DE 19901) WHERE THEY REFERRED HER TO THE TOYA TIRE MANUFACTURER FOR ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY INFORMED HER THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE TIRES. THE CONTACT HAD YET TO EXPERIENCE A FAILURE WITH THE TIRES. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 33,000.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2016 MAZDA CX-5 FROM A NON-MAZDA DEALER, HOWEVER AFTER PAYING $21,000 FOR THE VEHICLE I REALIZED THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT WAS NOT WORKING! MY BIGGEST SURPRISE WAS WHEN I WENT BACK TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THEM REPAIR IT AND FOUND OUT THE ENTIRE HEADLAMP WOULD NEED REPLACING TO THE TUNE OF $1,100 DOLLARS! TODAY I CALLED MAZDA AND THEY TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT THIS BECAUSE THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY! IT IS ESPECIALLY DISTRESSING IN THAT SO MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ARE ALL OVER THE INTERNET ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM WHEN THE CARS ARE STILL UNDER 30,000 MILES! I HOPE SOMEONE CAN DO SOMETHING, MAZDA SHOULD HELP CUSTOMERS IN THIS WAY, SINCE THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECTIVE PART!
DRIVERS SIDE LED HEADLIGHT NOT WORKING AFTER 3 YEARS AND ~25K MILES. I SEE SO MANY COMPLAINTS WITH THE HEADLIGHTS ON ONLINE FORUMS AND NO RECALL HAS BEEN MADE BY MAZDA OVER THIS ISSUE. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED VIA A RECALL AND NOT CHARGE CUSTOMERS FOR AN EXPENSIVE FULL HEADLIGHT CONSOLE REPLACEMENT. WHAT IS THE USE OF GETTING A MORE EXPENSIVE TECH PACKAGE FOR THESE LIGHTS AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE WHEN THEY DON'T EVEN WORK FOR 3 YEARS.
THE LED DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS ON BOTH SIDES OF MY 2016 MAZDA CX-5 HAVE BURNED OUT/STOPPED LIGHTING AFTER 39K MILES AND OUT OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD. THE REPAIR REQUIRES THE REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY WITH AN ESTIMATED COST OF $1200 PER ASSEMBLY. ($2400 TOTAL). BECAUSE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AND ONE APPARENTLY KNOWN TO MAZDA, THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL.
THE DRIVER'S DOOR ON MY 2016 MAZDA CX-5 HAS A MALFUNCTIONING SENSOR THAT SOMETIMES INDICATES THE DOOR IS CLOSED EVEN WHEN IT IS OPEN. SINCE THE DOOR COULD BE UNLATCHED WITHOUT AN AUDIBLE CHIME SOUNDING, IT'S POSSIBLE THAT AN OWNER COULD BE UNAWARE THEY ARE DRIVING WITH THE DOOR OPEN. THUS, THIS VEHICLE FAILS TO CONFORM TO FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD (FMVSS) NO. 114, "THEFT PROTECTION AND ROLLAWAY PREVENTION."

COST IS $1100-1200 OR MORE. FLICKERING OR FAILING LIGHTS ARE A DISTRACTION FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC. LACK OF DRL MAY VIOLATE SOME STATE LAWS.
Vehicle was t-boned by another vehicle that was traveling 40mph. Both front seats are now loose, and have been for some time. Insurance refused to cover seat replacement during repairs in fear of going above the “totaled” threshold and it being a total loss. Now we are concerned about the safety of our vehicle, and we are scared to drive it on major highways where the risk of accidents are higher.
VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 33,000 MILES AND THE DRIVER-SIDE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT HAS GONE OUT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD NOT HAPPEN WITH LED LIGHTS THIS EARLY IN THE VEHICLE'S LIFE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
THE DRIVER'S HEADLIGHT HALO FOR THE DAYLIGHT RUNNING LIGHTS WAS HAVING ISSUES AT 30,939. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AND IT WOULD HAVE COST $1,000. NOW THE PASSENGER SIDE IS HAVING ISSUES AT 33,183 MILES AND NOW THAT IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY THE CURRENT QUOTE IS $1,200. A THREE YEAR OLD CAR UNDER 36,000 MILES SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THESE ISSUES, NOR SHOULD THEY BE ALMOST $2,500 IN REPAIRS. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I NOTICED IT WHILE DRIVING AND SEEING THE LESS BRIGHT REFLECTION COMING OFF THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AT A STOP LIGHT FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE. I SPOKE WITH SHAVON ON THE HELP LINE AND SHE WAS EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS ANSWERING MY QUESTIONS (*****)
MY HUSBAND NOTICED DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE HEADLIGHT BRIGHTNESS AS I DROVE BEHIND HIM. AFTER PARKING, HE INSPECTED THE LIGHTS AND NOTICED FLICKERING IN THE PASSENGER SIDE LED DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT. THE CAR HAS 29,650 MILES. THE REPAIR INVOLVES AN ENTIRELY NEW HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND MY LOCAL MAZDA DEALERSHIP QUOTED ME $1,300 TO FIX THIS REPAIR. THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT IS A SAFETY FEATURE, AND IT'S UNACCEPTABLE THAT MAZDA IS TAKING NO RESPONSIBILITY WITH WHAT APPEARS TO BE A KNOWN DEFECTIVE PART. TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS HAVE SAID THEY ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE PROBLEM SINCE THEY HAVE DONE REPAIRS. I'VE SEEN DOZENS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE FOR THE SAME YEAR/MAKE OF CAR WITH DEFECTIVE RUNNING LIGHTS. I CALLED UP THE MAZDA CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE AND DID NOT RECEIVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE SINCE THEY SAID THEY NEEDED A DIAGNOSTIC WHEN YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THE LIGHT FLICKERS VISUALLY. THE DIAGNOSTIC COSTS $150. I DON'T SEE THE POINT IN PAYING $150 TO DIAGNOSIS SOMETHING YOU CAN VISUALLY SEE THERE IS A PROBLEM WHICH IS ALREADY A KNOWN ISSUE AMONG CX-5 OWNERS.
