INSTEAD OF TURNING OFF CRUISE CONTROL AND SLOWING THE CAR, HITTING THE BRAKE CAUSED THE CAR TO ACCELETRATE. I COULD ONLY TURN OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL BY SLAMMING THE BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES.
