TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA MAZDA3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE MAKING A RIGHT AT LOW SPEEDS, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE SEAT SEPARATED FROM THE BASE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 17V082000 (SEATS). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
MY DASH HAS GLARE FROM DASH MELT
MY DAUGHTER RECENTLY PURCHASED A USED 2010 MAZDA 3. IN THE LAST 3 WEEKS HER POWER STEERING LIGHT ILLUMINATES INTERMITTENTLY AND HER POWER STEERING THEN DOES NOT WORK. THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME THE CAR IS STATIONARY AND SHE HAS NOTICED IF SHE TURNS THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTS IT SEVERAL TIMES HER POWER STEERING STARTS TO WORK AGAIN. THE VEHICLE IS VERY HARD TO CONTROL WHEN THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING AND I AM VERY CONCERNED WITH THIS BECAUSE SHE WEIGHTS 80 LBS. WE HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE AT THE SHOP ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE BUT WITH IT DOING IT INTERMITTENTLY THE SHOPS CANNOT IDENTIFY THE SPECIFIC CAUSE. TWO DIFFERENT SHOPS BELIEVE IT IS THE POWER STEERING PUMP. I HAVE READ UP ON THIS ISSUE AND AM AWARE OF THE RECALLS BUT 2010'S ARE NOT INCLUDED.

AS A RESULT, THE DRIVER SUSTAINED WHIPLASH THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THE DRIVER'S SEAT WAS INSPECTED DUE TO FEELING LOOSE WHILE DRIVING. IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE DRIVER'S SEAT LINKAGE FAILED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DRIVER'S SEAT WAS A POWER SEAT AND NOT MANUAL; THEREFORE, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V082000 (SEATS). THE RECALL ONLY INCLUDED THE MANUAL SEATS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,355. UPDATED 07/18/17*LJ *JS
THE DASHBOARD IS MELTED AND STICKY AND THAT MAKES IT BRIGHT WITH THE SUN AND REFLECTED IN THE GLASS INTERNALLY AND MAKES DAY DRIVING VERY DIFFICULT.
THE DASHBOARD HAS STICKY AREA THAT CANNOT BE CLEANED. GLARE FROM THE SUN OR LIGHTS MAKES IT VERY HARD TO SEE. IT'S LIKE LIGHT SHINNING OFF OF GLASS.
CLUTCH NEEDS REPLACEMENT AS PER MAZDA SERVICE DEPARTMENT. CAR IS 6 YEARS OLD AND HAS 53000 APROX. I HAVE READ BLOGS ABOUT THIS BEING A COMMON PROBLEM FOR CERTAIN MAZDAS BETWEEN 2009 -2012.

MY MAZDA 3 WILL NOT START. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A MAZDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY GAVE A ME A DESCRIPTION OF MY ISSUE AND RESOLUTION (MY ISSUE: BATTERY CABLE SHORTED AND SPLIT IN HALF DUE TO A DEFAULT WIRE HARNESS). I GOOGLED THE PART NUMBER AND I NOTICED A RECALL ON MY CAR RELATED TO THE SAME EXACT PART. RECALL # 09V12600 MAZDA IS NOW TELLING ME MY ISSUE IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL BECAUSE MY VIN DOES NOT SHOW IT HAS BEEN RECALLED. MY CONFUSION IS AS FOLLOWS; THE ISSUE IS THE SAME, THE RESOLUTION IS THE SAME, THE PART NUMBER IS THE SAME, THE VEHICLE IS THE SAME (MODEL AND YEAR). I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP IN RESOLVING MY ISSUE. MAZDA IS CHARGING $1400 FOR THE FIX, I AM LOOKING ANY HELP FROM NHTSA PLEASE, TO HELP RESOLVE MY ISSUE AND HAVE MY ISSUE BE COVERED UNDER A RECALL. THE RECALL STATES POTENTIAL IMPACT OF 25,400 VEHICLES (LEAVING THE DOOR OPEN FOR MORE OR LESS VEHICLES). TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA 3. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, A RATTLING NOISE WAS PRESENT COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A LOCAL UNKNOWN DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT ROUGHLY 40 MPH, I HEARD A "POP" FROM THE DRIVER SEAT AREA. THE SEAT STARTED ROCKING SIGNIFICANTLY WHEN THE CAR CHANGED SPEED. THIS WAS DISTRACTING AND AFFECTED MY ABILITY TO STEER, A SAFETY CONCERN. THE PROBLEM WAS A "FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER UNIT" WHICH THE DEALER REPLACED AT A COST OF ROUGHLY $900.00. *TR
TIRE DEFLATED IN SECONDS WHILE DRIVING. REPLACING A CORRODED VALVE STEM AND TPMS. THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL AFTER READING HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME ISSUE ON CARS THAT ARE ONLY A FEW YEARS OLD. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA 3. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE COLLIDED INTO A STREET SIGN AND FRACTURED THE PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 105,310.
I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL REGARDING LIFT GATE DAMPERS BACK IN OCTOBER 2016. I CALLED TO CHECK ON IT AND GUNTHER MAZDA SERVICE DEPT DID NOT HAVE THE PART AVAILABLE. WENT FOR AN UNRELATED PROBLEM IN DECEMBER TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED AND I FIGURED SINCE I WAS GOING TO BE WITHOUT A CAR FOR A DAY OR TWO, I MIGHT AS WELL TAKE CARE OF THE RECALL. THEY STILL DID NOT HAVE THE PART, THEY TOLD ME TO CALL BACK IN FEBRUARY. I AM NOT SURE HOW LONG AFTER A RECALL IS A MANUFATURER SUPPOSED TO PROVIDE WITH A SOLUTION, BUT 4 MONTHS SEEMS LONG. I HAVE NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE GATE, BUT I DON'T WANT TO WAIT UNTIL I HAVE IT OR IGNORE THE RECALL EITHER.
DRIVER'S SEAT LIFTER ADJUSTMENTS BROKEN (RECALL NOTICE HAS BEEN SENT BUT WHEN I WENT TO DEALER IN MID-FEBRUARY 2017 WAS TOLD THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PART, AND WOULD CALL ME BACK WHEN IT ARRIVED). AS OF TODAY, 10/26/17, I HAVE NOT BEEN CALLED TO TELL ME THE PART IS IN.
STEERING WHEEL, AT ANY SPEED, MOVES SLIGHTLY FROM SIDE TO SIDE CAUSING IT TO BE CROOKED. ALIGNMENTS AND BALANCING HAS NOT SOLVED THE PROBLEM. THE WHEEL IS LOOSE IN STEERING AND INCREASINGLY SCARY SINCE IT IS SLIGHTLY CROOKED AND CAN BE VERY HARD TO KEEP THE CAR FROM OVER STEERING EVEN WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT ON A PERFECTLY PAVED ROAD. I'M AFRAID THE STEERING PUMP IS CORRODING. PLEASE INVESTIGATE AS NEWER MODELS AND MAZDA IN JAPAN HAD A MAJOR RECALL FOR THIS VERY ISSUE. PLEASE DO A US RECALL AS IT'S DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE AND VERY UNPREDICTABLE ESPECIALLY ON CURVY OR BUMPY ROADS. *TR
I HAVE TWO REMOTES FOR THE CAR. THEY BOTH WORK JUST FINE UNTIL LAST WEEK. ONE KEY WOULDN'T START THE CAR THE SECURITY LOCK SYMBOL SHOW UP. THE DASHBOARD LIGHT UP THE RADIO TURN ON THE AIR CONDITIONER AS WELL. BUT IT WOULD NOT START THE CAR. I WOULD HAVE INSERT THE OTHER KEY TO TURN ON THE CAR. THEN A FEW DAYS LATER THE OTHER KEY WOULDN'T WORK. IT'S DOES THE AS THE OTHER KEY. I HAVE TO CARRY BOTH SETS JUST IN CASE ONE WOULD WORK.

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRACTION CONTROL MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA 3. WHILE DRIVING 40-45 MPH, THE POWER STEERING SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE BECAME DIFFICULT TO OPERATE SAFELY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING PUMP WAS REPLACED AT 98,000 MILES; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
THE WELDS ON THE FRONT SEAT ATTACHMENTS HAVE SNAPPED OFF.
COPIED FROM AN EXISTING COMPLAINT BECAUSE I HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM: THE SWING ARM THAT ATTACHES THE DRIVER'S SEAT TO THE LEFT-SIDE SEAT RUNNER UNEXPECTEDLY DETACHED. CLOSE INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THIS WAS CAUSED BY A WELD FAILURE / METAL FATIGUE AT THE POINT WHERE THE ARM WAS WELDED TO THE ROD THAT RUNS BELOW THE CUSHION. THE SEAT IS NOW UNSTABLE AND ROCKS IN AN ALARMING WAY, BOTH WHEN ACCELERATING AND DECELERATING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITH A POPPING NOISE AS I PREPARED TO PULL AWAY FROM A PARKING SPOT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
MY POWER STEERING SUDDENLY GAVE OUT WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. IT IS NO LONGER WORKING. I WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT THE POWER STEERING HYDRAULIC PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT WAS REPLACED BUT THE POWER STEERING IS STILL NOT FUNCTIONING. IT'S EXACTLY THE SAME. THERE WAS AND IS NO LIGHT LIT UP ON MY DASHBOARD INDICATING A POWER STEERING FAILURE; YET THE POWER STEERING IS NOT WORKING AT ALL. THE CAR MUST BE STEERED WITH MANUAL FORCE/MUSCLE, ESPECIALLY WHEN DRIVING SLOWLY OR WHEN STOPPED.
TWICE NOW, WHEN I WAS ALERTED VIA MY TPMS THAT I HAD LOW TIRE PRESSURE IN ONE OF MY TIRES, I STOPPED AT A SERVICE STATION TO ADD AIR TO MY LOW PRESSURE TIRE. AS I APPLIED THE AIR HOSE TO THE VALVE STEM, THE VALVE STEM (AND THE ATTACHED TPMS SENSOR, DISAPPEARED INTO THE WHEEL AND TIRE AND THE TIRE WENT IMMEDIATELY FLAT. . I BELIEVE THIS TO BE THE RESULT OF FAULTY DESIGN OF THE TPMS ASSEMBLY. THE MATERIALS USED IN THE COLLAR AND NUT THAT SECURE THE TPMS ASSEMBLY TO THE WHEEL IS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT (EXPOSED TO ROAD SALT, DIRT, GRIME, BRAKE DUST, ETC.) IN WHICH THE TPMS ASSEMBLY MUST FUNCTION. THE COLLAR AND NUT CORRODE AND EVENTUALLY FAIL DUE TO THAT EXPOSURE. FORTUNATELY FOR ME, I WAS STOPPED AT THE TIME OF THOSE FAILURES; HAD I BEEN TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE COMPLETE FAILURE (NO AIR PRESSURE REMAINING IN TIRE) COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC. THE FIRST ASSEMBLY FAILED AT APPROXIMATELY 36,500 MILES AND THIS MOST RECENT ONE FAILED AT 61,800 MILES. BOTH TPMS ASSEMBLIES WERE OEM PARTS AND WERE INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE WHEN WE BOUGHT THE CAR NEW FROM MAZDA. I HAVE SEEN MANY REPORTS ONLINE DESCRIBING SIMILAR FAILURES. TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE, MAZDA HAS NOT YET RECOGNIZED OR ACKNOWLEDGED THIS AS A PROBLEM WITH THE DESIGN AND FAILURE OF THEIR TPMS ASSEMBLIES. I WOULD LIKE THEM TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM AND TAKE ACTION TO ADDRESS THEIR FAULTY DESIGN, BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR DIES FROM AN ACCIDENT RESULTING FROM ANOTHER TPMS ASSEMBLY FAILURE.
TAKATA RECALL, I HEAR SOME NOISES FROM THE SEAT.
THE SWING ARM THAT ATTACHES THE DRIVER'S SEAT TO THE LEFT-SIDE SEAT RUNNER UNEXPECTEDLY DETACHED. CLOSE INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THIS WAS CAUSED BY A WELD FAILURE / METAL FATIGUE AT THE POINT WHERE THE ARM WAS WELDED TO THE ROD THAT RUNS BELOW THE CUSHION. THE SEAT IS NOW UNSTABLE AND ROCKS IN AN ALARMING WAY, BOTH WHEN ACCELERATING AND DECELERATING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITH A POPPING NOISE AS I PREPARED TO PULL AWAY FROM A PARKING SPOT. I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW AND HAVE TREATED IT GENTLY. I AM A SKINNY GUY AND HAVE AT NO TIME BEEN ROUGH ON THE SEAT. I AM SURPRISED THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS FAILURE AS IT IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE.
FRAME BRACKET BROKE WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN ON THE FRONT DRIVER SEAT CAUSING THE SEAT TO ROCK COMPLETELY BACK
DASHBOARD SEPARATING DIRECTLY OVER THE MILEAGE/STEREO/GPS INSTRUMENT PANEL IS SEPARATING/COMING UNGLUED FROM THE TOP OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE AREA SEPARATED/UNGLUED IS APPROX. 5-6" LONG. IT IS PUFFY IN THE CENTER DIRECTLY ABOVE.
MY DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BRACKET HAS BROKEN CAUSING THE SEAT TO ROCK SLIGHTLY. ALSO, THE DASHBOARD APPEARS TO BE MELTING WITH A SHINY STICKY SPOT.
THE CAR HAS 43000 POWER STEERING WENT OUT AS I WAS DRIVING CAUSING A PROBLEM VEHICLE
STICKY DASHBOARD INTERFERES WITH WINDSHIELD GLARE HE WINDSHIELD TEND TO GET A VERY BAD GLARE AND MAKES IT HARD TO DRIVE DUE TO THE DASH BOARD. THE DASH BOARD IS ALL STICKY AND GETS WORSE WITH THE HEAT
AT 78,000 MILES ONE OF MY VALVE STEMS FAILED WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH. WHEN I INSPECTED THE OTHER THREE WHEELS, BASED ON A RECOMMENDATION FROM SHOP, I FOUND ANOTHER STEM WITH ABOUT 2/3 OF THE NUT MISSING ALONG THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE STEM SHAFT. SEE PICTURES. IF THE FRONT WHEEL STEM HAD FAILED RATHER THAN THE BACK WHEEL STEM I COULD HAVE HAD SERIOUS CONTROL ISSUES.
VALVE STEMS ON TIRES BLOW OUT WITH VERY LITTLE WARNING. IT HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES ON MY VEHICLE, TWICE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITH MY SMALL CHILD IN THE BACKSEAT. THE SENSOR FOR LOW TIRE PRESSURE GOES ON AND WITHIN A MINUTE THE TIRE IS COMPLETELY RUINED. AND THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT WAS WITH A TIRE ONLY SIX MONTHS OLD AND LESS THAN 10000 MILES. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH TIME TO EVEN PULL OVER. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AND SCARY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MAZDA 3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AND WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC CAME TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE MAIN FUSE HAD SHORT CIRCUITED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V126000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 144,000.

IN ADDITION, THE WINDOWS FAILED TO WORK INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
WHILE SERVICING A CUSTOMER'S VEHICLE WE INFLATED THEIR TIRES. WHEN THE AIR CHUCK CLAMPED ON THE VALVE STEM, IT BROKE CAUSING ALL AIR TO ESCAPE FROM THE TIRE, IMMOBILIZING THE VEHICLE.

TRANSMISSION INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING, WHICH CAUSED THE CAR TO NOT SHIFT BEYOND 3 GEAR. AFTER DIAGNOSIS, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT A NEW SOLENOID WAS NEEDED. AFTER THAT, IT WAS THEN DETERMINED THAT A NEW TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WAS NEEDED. THE FIRST ONE FROM THE MANUFACTURER WAS DEFECTIVE AND A SECOND WAS NEEDED.
DASHBOARD MELTS IN HOT SUN CAUSING GLARE WHILE DRIVING AND LEAVES STICKY BLACK RESIDUE WHEN TOUCHED. OVER HALF OF MY DASH IS MELTED.
THE RADIO VOLUME CONTROL CAN NOT TURN OFF. IF CLICK THE VOLUME KNOB TO TURN OFF, THE VOLUME BECOME 10 TIMES LOUDER. WHEN THE RADIO VOLUME IS AT "ON" STATE, ONLY LEFT DOOR BOSE HAS SOUND. WHEN THE RADIO VOLUME IS AT "OFF" STATE, THE SOUND LEVEL IS 10 TIMES LOUDER IN LEFT REAR BOSE SPEAKER. SOME TIMES, WHEN RADIO IS ON, IT COULD AUTOMATICALLY JUMP TO 10 TIMES LOUDER BY ITSELF.
MY 2010 MAZDA HAS HAD A BUILD UP OF CONDENSATION IN THE DRIVER'S HEADLIGHT FOR SOME TIME AND RECENTLY THE DRIVER'S HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. I WAS ADVISED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE HEADLAMP WHICH REQUIRES REMOVAL OF THE BUMPER. I WOULD BE LOOKING AT CLOSE TO $1000+ TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR. I DECLINED THE REPAIR AS I WANTED TO DO MORE RESEARCH ON THE SAFETY BULLETINS THAT ARE POSTED FOR THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE. THE DEALERSHIP DECLINED TO REPAIR THE ISSUE BASED ON THE PUBLISHED SAFETY BULLETINS. RECENTLY, CONDENSATION HAS STARTED IN MY PASSENGER SIDE HEADLAMP AND THAT HEADLIGHT IS NOW OUT AS WELL. IT SHOULD BE NOTED I LIVE IN THE DRY SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENT SO MY CAR IS HARDLY EVER EXPOSED TO WATER FOR CONDENSATION TO EVEN BE BUILDING UP. THIS POSES A REAL DANGER TO DRIVERS AS THE HEADLIGHTS MAY GO OUT (POSSIBLY BOTH) WHILE DRIVING CAUSING VERY UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS BOTH FOR THOSE IN THE VEHICLE BUT FOR OTHER VEHICLES SHARING THE ROAD.
2010 MADZA3 LESS THAN 40,000 MILES. WENT TO HAVE SNOW TIRES REMOVED AFTER WINTER SEASON. ALL FOUR TPMS VALVES CORRODED AND BROKEN INTO PIECES. TIRE DEALER WOULD NOT RELEASE CAR WITH VALVES IN THIS CONDITION. HAVE TEMPORARILY REPLACED WITH REGULAR, NON-MONITORING VALVES. SIX YEAR OLD VEHICLE WITH THIS FEW MILES SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THIS ISSUE. NO RECALL ISSUED, BUT OBVIOUSLY COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL. WHY HASN'T RECALL BEEN ISSUED. COULD BE CATASTROPHIC ON HIGHWAY.
THE DRIVER'S SEAT FRAME BREAKS RESULTING IN THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE TO ROCK BACKWARDS WITH THE SEAT WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN FORWARD MOTION. THE CAR BECOMES UNCONTROLLABLE WHEN THE SEAT ROCKS BACK CAUSING THE DRIVER TO HOLD THEMSELVES UPRIGHT TRYING TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE SEAT EXHIBITS CHARACTERISTICS THAT CAN ONLY BE CALLED UNSAFE. THIS DEFECT WILL ULTIMATELY RESULT IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WITH INJURY OR DEATH. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHEN THIS WAS FIRST NOTICED. THE DEFECT WITH THE SEAT FRAME ALSO RENDERS THE SEAT BELT USELESS AND IS SAFETY HAZARD COMPOUNDED BY THE SEAT FRAME BREAKING LOOSE. THIS DEFECT APPEARS TO HAPPEN ONLY ON THE 2010 MAZDA 3 MODEL AND THERE ARE MANY ADDITIONAL COMPLAINTS, BOTH HERE AND IN PUBLIC FORUMS. MAZDA NEEDS TO RECALL FOR REPLACEMENT OF A SEAT FRAME THAT IS BUILT SO AS NOT TO BREAK IN NORMAL USE. WHY THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED IS NEGLIGENT. MY LOCAL MAZDA DEALER GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE OF $980.00 TO REPAIR THE SEAT FRAME. THE MANAGER WAS NOT WILLING TO NEGOTIATE THE COST OF THE REPAIR NOR WILLING TO DISCUSS FURTHER.
