Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE, MADE A U TURN AND SUDDENLY ALL LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD WENT OFF AND THE VEHICLE STARTED TO TURN ON AND OFF WITH NO KEY IN THE IGNITION AND CAUGHT FIRE. I HAD PARKED THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE ROAD ON A CITY STREET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MAZDA 5. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, A DEER RAN IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES TO AVOID CRASHING INTO THE DEER. THE BACK PASSENGER FELL OUT OF THE BOOSTER SEAT WHEN THIS OCCURRED AND HIT HIS HEAD ON THE BACK HEAD REST OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES . THE CONTACT THEN NOTICED THAT THE SEAT BELT HAD FAILED TO GRIP ONTO THE SEAT AND IT WAS BROKEN. THE DEALER WAS INFORMED ABOUT THE FAILURE AND THEY REPAIRED THE SEAT BELT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 110000.
SEATBELT IN MY 2006 MAZDA 5 LITERALLY FELL APART AS WE WERE BUCKLING IT. WE HAD THIS VEHICLE IN TO MAZDA TO REPAIR SIMILAR PROBLEM EXACTLY A YEAR AGO. MAZDA IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE WE DISCUSSED IT AT LENGTH. *TR
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
