2009 MAZDA 6. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO TIRE SENSOR VALVE ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT ILLUMINATED FREQUENTLY. IT WAS DETERMINED, THE VALVE WAS CORRODED. THE VALVE WAS REPLACED WITH A CHEAPER ONE. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED A FLAT ON ANOTHER TIRE DUE TO CORROSION AND A CRACKED SENSOR VALVE. THE CONSUMER REPLACED ALL FOUR VALVES DUE TO CORROSION. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 MAZDA 6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V594000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS DO NOT WORK. HIGH BEAM, FOG AND MARKER LIGHTS WORK FINE. *JS
DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND BECOMING SHINNY AND STICKY. *TR
MY CAR ALARM HAD BEEN GOING OFF SPORADICALLY FOR ABOUT A YEAR OR MORE (MAYBE ONCE A MONTH), BUT IT GOT PROGRESSIVELY WORSE TO THE POINT THAT IT WOULD GO OFF 3-5 DAYS A WEEK. I'D HAD MY DOOR LATCHES INSPECTED AT THE END OF 2013 FOR A RECALL THAT ALTHOUGH IT WASN'T ELECTRICAL IN NATURE, ELECTRICAL ISSUES COULD DEVELOP IF IT'S NOT REPAIRED. SO, I WAS NOT EXPECTING THERE TO BE ANY ISSUES WITH THEM, BUT WAS SURPRISED TO LEARN THAT NOT ONE BUT BOTH OF MY REAR DOOR ACTUATORS WERE DEFECTIVE. AFTER GETTING THAT FIXED THE VERY DAY I PICKED UP MY VEHICLE FROM GETTING REPAIRS I NOTICED MY PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD WAS SHINY, AND APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN POLISHED. I LATER LEARN THAT LOOK ACTUALLY CAME FROM THE DASHBOARD MELTING. NOW I HAVE MELTING TOXIC MATERIAL, THAT ALSO CAN CAUSE A GLARE, IN MY VEHICLE. *TR
THE DASH BOARD IS MELTING. IT IS STICKY AND THERE'S SEEMS TO BE NOTHING TO DO ABOUT IT. I CHECKED ON RECALLS FOR THE DASH, BUT DID NOT FIND ANY. I HAVE HAD CARS HERE IS SOUTH FLORIDA FOR 40 SOMETHING YEARS....NEVER HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THIS. WHY IS IT NOT RECALLED? *TR
I JUST RECENTLY GOT THIS CAR. I AM MAKING PAYMENTS ON IT. I NOTICED MY DASHBOARD MELTING AND NOW ITS SO BAD THAT THERE IS A GLARE IN THE MIDDLE OF WINDSHIELD. I CANT SEE THROUGH IT AT TIMES. AND THE MATERIAL FROM THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING NOW IN DRIP LINES DOWN THE DASH. IT IS UGLY AND IS RUINING ANYTHING THAT TOUCHES IT. KIDS TRY TO DIG HOLES IN THE DASHBOARD AND I'M SCARED THAT THEY MIGHT TRY TO CONSUME THE GOO THAT COMES OFF THE MELTING SPOT. MY LAWYER HAS INFORMED ME TO FILE A COMPLAINT. I NEED A REPLACEMENT DASHBOARD AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. PLEASE HELP. *TR
THE DASHBOARD OF MY MAZDA IS MELTING. THE DASHBOARD IS SHINY AND STICKY WITH A TERRIBLE GLARE. IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS WET, BUT IT IS REALLY GOOEY. I AM WORRIED THE AIRBAGS MAY DEPLOY PREMATURELY OR NOT AT ALL. THE DAMAGE TO THE DASHBOARD IS GETTING WORSE. DRIVING THROUGH A TUNNEL MY CAR BEGAN TO FILL WITH SMOKE. I PULLED OVER AND LOOKED FOR WHERE THE SMOKE CAME FROM AND FOUND THE SWITCH TO MY HEATED SEATS WAS ON FIRE. MY CAR WOULD NO LONGER TURN ON. REPAIR MAN AT DEALERSHIP SAYS IT'S SOMETHING THAT JUST HAPPENS I GUESS. SOMEWHERE SOMETHING SHORTED. I'M JUST GLAD MY CHILD WAS NOT IN THE CAR WHEN THIS HAPPENED. BEWARE!! THERE ARE CURRENT RECALLS FOR THE EXACT MAKE AND MODEL IN AUSTRALIA AND EUROPE FOR THE SAME ISSUE. I'M STILL WAITING FOR THE US THE ISSUE A RECALL SO I CAN GET MY MONEY BACK.
THE CHECK BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. I FOUND THAT THERE WAS VERY LITTLE BREAK FLUID. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC AND HE DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE BREAK LINE CREATED WHEN IT RUBBED UP AGAINST THE ENGINE. HE SAID IT WAS A DESIGN FLAW AND RECOMMENDED THAT WE TAKE THE CAR TO THE MAZDA DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS VERY UNDERSTANDING BUT COULD NOT MAKE ANY JUDGMENT. HE CONSULTED WITH MAZDA CORPORATE. CORPORATE RULED THAT SINCE IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE PART. AS A GESTURE OF GOODWILL THEY PAID FOR THE PART WHICH WAS $73.28, AND CHARGED ME $405.00 IN LABOR TO INSTALLATION. TO ME, I WOULD CERTAINLY LIKE TO GET REIMBURSED MY OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE. BUT MORE, SO I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THIS DESIGN FLAW CORRECTED SO THAT SOMEONE DOESN'T KILLED WHEN THEIR BRAKES FAIL. I WILL BE OUT OF THE COUNTRY UNTIL FEB. 17TH. THANK YOU *TR

THE DASHBOARD TO MY 2009 MAZDA 6 IS MELTING. I TRIED GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BUT THEY SAID THERE WASN'T ANYTHING THEY COULD DO BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THEY SUGGESTED I CONTACT MAZDA WHICH I DID TO FILE A REPORT.
MY DASHBOARD IS STICKY AND MELTING. THIS IS VERY BAD !!!!!! AND VERY CONCERN ABOUT THE AIR BAG.
FOR THE SECOND TIME IN A YEAR THE AIR VALVE ON ONE OF THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS ON OUR MAZDA CORRODED AND SNAPPED OFF AS I WAS PUTTING AIR IN THE TIRE. I'M VERY GRATEFUL THIS HAPPENED WHILE THE CAR WAS IN OUR DRIVEWAY AND NOT WHILE MY WIFE OR DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THE CAR. *TR

THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A STICKY SUBSTANCE LEAKING INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE NEAR THE WINDSHIELD, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW, AND THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 31,000.
2009 MAZDA6. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO AUTOMATIC UNLOCK BUTTON MALFUNCTION. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED WITHIN THE LAST YEAR, THE AUTOMATIC UNLOCK BUTTON INSIDE THE VEHICLE, SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING, AND IN FACT DID THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO DO. WHEN THE UNLOCK BUTTON WAS PRESSED, THE ENTIRE VEHICLE AUTOMATICALLY LOCKED, AND AT TIMES, WOULD NOT RELEASE THE LOCK, EVEN MANUALLY. IT WOULD TAKE MANY ATTEMPTS AT PERFECT TIMING TO SELECT THE UNLOCK BUTTON WHILE OPENING THE DOOR IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE AUTOMATIC LOCK BUTTON FUNCTIONED AS IT SHOULD, LOCKING ALL DOORS. IN OTHER WORDS, BOTH THE AUTOMATIC LOCK AND UNLOCK BUTTONS ONLY LOCKED THE DOORS. THE CONSUMER STATED SHE WAS LOCKED INSIDE THE VEHICLE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, UNTIL SHE WAS ABLE TO GET THE DOOR TO RELEASE. THE DEALER IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM AS THE BODY CONTROL MODULE FOR THE LOCKS. HOWEVER, THEY COULD NOT OFFER A GUARANTEE THAT THE NEW BODY CONTROL MODULE WOULD NOT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, AS MAZDA ACKNOWLEDGED A PROBLEM WITH THE PART.
THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING. IT IS ONLY OCCURRING ON THE SECTION CLOSEST TO THE WINDOW AND FOR ABOUT 12 INCHES. I HAVE TRIED TO KEEP THE WINDOWS OPEN, USE HEAT BARRIERS/SHIELDS ETC. IT IS EVEN WET AND GOOEY WHEN THE AC IS ON AND I AM DRIVING. I HAVE READ THAT THE PLASTICS ETC THAT ARE USED IN VEHICLES CAN EMIT CANCEROUS ODORS/VAPORS/ETC WHEN THEY OVERHEAT. CAN THIS ISSUE PLEASE BE INVESTIGATED AS AFTER READING THE COMPLAINTS THIS IS A ROBUST PROBLEM THAT CAN AFFECT THE SAFETY OF MANY PEOPLE! *TR
MY CAR ALARM KEPT GOING OFF SEVERAL TIMES A DAY FOR MONTHS FOR NO REASON. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY FOUND THAT I HAD A BAD DOOR LATCH. COULD HAVE BEEN A SAFETY ISSUE IF DOOR COULD HAVE COME OPEN WHILE DRIVING. WARRANTY WAS UP SO I HAD TO PAY ALL COSTS TO REPLACE. *TR
I WAS REARED ED 2 YEARS AGO IN SEPTEMBER. WHEN I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN TO GET FIXED THE SEATBELTS WERE CHECKED AND IN WORKING ORDER. A COUPLE WEEKS LATER I REMOVED MY SON'S CAR SEAT TO SWEEP OUT THE CAR AND TO WASH HIS SEAT. AS I WAS PUTTING HIS SEAT BACK IN I NOTICED THE BELT WOULD NOT LOCK. SO I MOVED IT OVER TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AS MY OLDEST ALWAYS SAT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. A COUPLE WEEKS AFTER THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SEATBELT WOULDN'T LOCK. NOW I HAVE A INFANT IN THE VEHICLE WENT TO PUT HER CARSEAT BEHIND THE DRIVERS SIDE. WORKED UP UNTIL A WEEK AGO I NOTICED TODAY AS I WAS TAKING HER SEAT OUT OF THE BASE IT WAS MOVING A LOT. I YANKED ON THE SEATBELT NOW IT WON'T LOCK. I HAVE READ COMPLAINTS ON THIS AND RECALLS ON SOME CARS FOR THIS.
DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR HAS FAILED!***THE ALARM ON MY MAZDA GOES OFF AT RANDOM PERIODS OF TIME. SOMETIMES ITS ONCE A WEEK AND SOMETIMES IS 5 TIMES A DAY OR NIGHT. I HAVE REVIEWED SEVERAL INTERNET FORUMS AND IT APPEARS THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM BUT THEY HAVE NOT CREATED A COMPLAINT ON THIS WEBSITE. THE REMEDIES THAT THEY HAVE FOUND TO HAVE THE DEALER REPLACE A DOOR ACTUATOR THAT IS FAULTY. THIS DOOR ACTUATOR LOCKS THE DOORS AND IF WHEN IT FAILS TO PROPERLY LOCK THE DOOR IT WILL INTERMITTENTLY SOUND THE ALARM. THE ALARM IS NOT SO MUCH THE CONCERN AS MUCH AS THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR. IT IF FAILS TO LOCK IT CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD FOR PEOPLE AS THEY ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE DOOR COULD ACCIDENTALLY BE OPENED. CHILDREN COULD OPEN THE DOOR AND FALL OUT OF THE CAR AS IT IS FAILING. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE AS IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN. *TR

DRIVER SIDE FRONT DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH, INSPECTED TO FIND ALL THREE DOOR LATCH MOUNTING SCREW WERE MISSING, AND THE DOOR LATCH WAS FALLING DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR. VERY DANGEROUS, AND I WAS STRANDED IN A PARKING LOT WITH A DRIVER DOOR THAT COULD NOT BE LATCHED. *TR
DISCOVERED EXCESSIVE CONDENSATION FOLLOWING THE OUTAGE OF THE RIGHT PASSENGER LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT. OUTAGE TO THE HEADLIGHT RENDERS THE VEHICLE UNSAFE AND UNFIT FOR DRIVING IN SITUATIONS THAT REQUIRE USAGE OF HEADLIGHTS UNTIL REPAIRED. CONDENSATION ALSO OBSERVED IN DRIVER HEADLAMP, HOWEVER LIGHT IS STILL CURRENTLY FUNCTIONING. RESULTING DAMAGE INCLUDES REPLACEMENT OF ENTIRE HEADLIGHT STRUCTURE AND COMPONENTS DUE TO WATER RELATED DAMAGE AND SUBSEQUENT HEADLIGHT FAILURE. *TR
THE ROD TO THE DOOR HANDLE INSIDE THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR FELL IN DUE TO THE RECALL THAT HAPPENED BACK IN DECEMBER 2013. THE RECALL ONLY REPLACED SCREWS ON THE PART THAT WAS STILL IN THE DOOR. IT DID NOT COVER THE PART THAT FELL IN BECAUSE THE SCREWS FELL OUT THAT HOLD THE PIECE IN. THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE WITHOUT THE ROD ATTACHED. THIS IS DUE TO THE FIRST RECALL. WE HAD NO IDEA THE SCREWS FELL OUT UNTIL THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE AND WE EXAMINED IT. IT SHOULD OF BEEN PART OF THE ORIGINAL RECALL. THIS COULD CREATE A SITUATION WHERE IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT OR ISSUE AND THE PASSENGER IS NOT AWARE OF WHAT IS GOING NO ONE FROM THE OUTSIDE WOULD BE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR TO GET THEM HELP OR GET THEM OUT. THIS SHOULD BE A NEW RECALL. THIS SHOULD OF BEEN COVERED IN THE ORIGINAL RECALL AND PAID FOR BY MAZDA TO FIX. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR FAILED TO CLOSE AND THE DOOR LATCH WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LATCH WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V425000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
DRIVER SIDE FRONT DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH UPON ENTRY TO THE VEHICLE. INSPECTION SHOWED THAT ALL 4 SCREWS WERE MISSING FROM THE LATCH MECHANISM. INSPECTION OF THE OTHER 3 DOORS SHOWED THAT UP TO 3 OF THE 4 SCREWS WERE MISSING FROM THEM. EVERY DOOR HAD AT LEAST 1 MISSING SCREW. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 MAZDA, MAZDA 6. THE CONTACT NOTICED A LARGE AMOUNT OF GASOLINE LEAKING FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO A CRACK IN THE UPPER PORTION OF THE FUEL TANK. A TEMPORARY REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 11V134000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK REPLACEMENT SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.

FRONT DRIVERS SIDE WOULD NOT CLOSE. UPON CHECKING ALL THE SCREWS HOLDING THE LATCH WERE MISSING.
WHEN I TRIED TO GET INTO MY CAR THE DOOR GOT STUCK AND ONLY OPEN ABOUT 2 INCHES. WHEN I FINALLY OPENED IT AND GOT IN THE CAR THE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. WHEN I CHECKED IT I REALIZED THAT ALL 3 SCREWS WERE MISSING AND THE DOOR LATCH HAD SHIFTED. *TR

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. VALVE STEM SHEARED OFF OF TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR. I HAD THE CAR SERVICED YESTERDAY. DURING THE OIL CHANGE, THE TECHNICIAN ALSO INFLATED THE TIRES TO 32LBS EACH. TODAY THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM INDICATED A LOW TIRE. PASSENGER REAR TIRE WAS 23.5 POUNDS. AS I WAS PUTTING AIR IN THE TIRE, THE VALVE STEM LITERALLY SHEARED OFF CAUSING COMPLETE LOSS OF AIR AND A FLAT TIRE. I WENT TO THE DEALER AND THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HEARD CHIRPING NOISE FROM THE CAR AND TOOK IT TO A DEALER WHO WASN'T ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE NOISE BUT THE NOISE CAME BACK AND WITH IN THE NEXT 10 DAYS IT GOT WORSE. THE DEALER TOLD THAT THERE WAS A LEAKAGE FROM EXHAUST DONUT AND EXHAUST HEAT SHIELD HAD TO BE FIXED. I GOT THEM FIXED AND AFTER 3 DAYS AND LESS THAN 100 MILES I HEAR THE CHIRPING NOISE AGAIN AND THIS TIME IT IS LOUDER. I CAN HEAR IT EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED. *TR
THE AIRBAG INDICATOR (MALFUNCTION) LIGHT TURNS ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY FOR OVER A YEAR. MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY SO THE DEALER WILL NOT SERVICE IT WITHOUT AN EXPENSIVE FEE. I FEAR FOR MY FAMILIES SAFETY BECAUSE IF THE AIRBAG IS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY IT WILL BE A LIFE THREATENING INJURY TO MY FAMILY. I AM UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT CERTAIN PARTS ON VEHICLES SHOULD BE SERVICED FOR A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME, SEAT BELTS AND AIRBAGS!. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THE MATTER AND ISSUE A RECALL. *TR
TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR FAILED WHILE TRAVELING DOWN HIGHWAY, WHEN FINALLY ABLE TO PULL OVER TIRE WAS COMPLETELY FLAT AND RUINED, VALVE STEM FELL APART IN HAND WHILE TRYING TO REMOVE VALVE STEM CAP, THIS IS THE 3RD OCCURRENCE WHILE OWNING THIS VEHICLE, VERY LUCKY THIS TIME THAT IT WAS A BACK TIRE AND NOT A FRONT. EACH TIME THAT I HAVE COMPLAINED TO DEALERSHIP, I AM TOLD THAT THE TIRE SHOPS THAT ARE REPLACING MY TIRES DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING OF WHICH I DISAGREE. I HAVE SEEN MANY FORUMS REGARDING THIS ISSUE WITH MAZDA 3'S AND 6'S, EACH TIME BEING TOLD THE TIRE SHOPS DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. MAZDA NEEDS TO STEP UP AND ACKNOWLEDGE A POOR DESIGN, COME UP WITH A BETTER ONE AND RECALL THESE BAD TIRE SENSOR VALVES BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. *TR
WHEN I WENT TO GO REMOVE THE VALVE STEM CAP TO CHECK THE AIR PRESSURE, THE VALVE STEM BROKE OFF WITH THE VALVE CAP REVEALING THE VALVE CORE. THE TIRE WAS DEFLATED WITHIN SECONDS. FURTHER INSPECTION OF THE VALVE STEM SHOWED THAT IT WAS CORRODED. THE VALVE STEM BROKE OFF EXACTLY AT THE POINT WHERE THE CAP WAS SCREWED TO. THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT COVER THE COST FOR REPAIRS AS MY CAR IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY ANYMORE. THE COST FOR REPAIRS CAME FROM MY POCKET. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 55 MPH THE PASSENGER DOOR OPENED . PASSENGER DIDN'T FALL OUT DUE TO SEAT BELT. FOUND THAT THREE SCREWS FELL OUT OF DOOR LATCH. REPLACED SCREWS, NOW DOOR CAN NOT BE OPENED FROM OUTSIDE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 MAZDA MAZDA6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE PSI WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE DEFLATED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WAS CORROSION ON THE VALVE STEM FOR THE FOUR TIRES. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE VALVE WAS COMPLETELY DAMAGED BY CORROSION.THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY REPLACING THE FOUR VALVE STEMS AND THE TIRES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,888.
BOTH FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS WENT OUT (SIMULTANEOUSLY) OVER A PERIOD OF ABOUT FIVE DAYS, AND THERE WAS NO CRASH OR ACCIDENT. IT APPEARS TO BE HIGHLY LIKELY THAT THE BEARINGS WERE DEFECTIVE FROM THE MANUFACTURER FOR BOTH OF THEM TO FAIL AT THIS LOW MILEAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MAZDA DEALER, AND THE TECHNICIAN THAT DID THE REPAIR STATED THAT HE HAD NEVER SEEN BOTH FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS GO BAD AT SUCH LOW MILEAGE, AND AGREED THAT THE BEARINGS WERE LIKELY DEFECTIVE.
SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE (USED) I NOTICED THAT MY HEADLIGHT ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE WAS DIMMER THAN THE OTHER AND WHILE IS WAS DRIVING, THE LIGHT WOULD GO ON AND OFF, I FIGURED IT JUST NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT IF YOU BUMPED THE LIGHT IT WOULD COME BACK ON AND WORK FOR A FEW DAYS AND AGAIN WOULD GO THROUGH THE SAME THING OVER AGAIN, THIS BECAME TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE TO ME BECAUSE I WORK AT NIGHT AND WITH THIS ISSUE HAPPENING INTERMITTENTLY I FIGURE ID CHANGE THE BULB AND HOPE FOR THE BEST. BULB CHANGED SAME ISSUE CONTINUED, I RESEARCHED THIS ON NUMEROUS SIGHTS TO SEE THAT OTHER MAZDA OWNERS WHERE GOING THRU THE SAME PROBLEM, EDMONDS HAD PEOPLE ON THEIR SIGHT WITH THE SAME ISSUE, HEADLIGHTS ARE ON THE TOP FOR SAFETY IF YOU CANT SEE OR BE SEEN THE WORST CAN HAPPEN. THE DOOR DID NOT LATCH COMPLETELY WHEN I CLOSED IT AFTER GETTING IN THE CAR. I OPENED THE DOOR BACK UP AND REALIZED THAT ALL THREE SCREWS THAT HOLD THE LATCH IN HAD FALLEN OUT. I INSPECTED THE PASSENGER SIDE AS WELL AND 1 WAS GONE. UPDATED 04/18/13*LJ I WENT FURTHER AND CHECKED ALL OF THE SCREWS IN THE CAR AND REALIZED THAT ALL OF THE SCREWS WERE EASY TO REMOVE. THERE WAS NO ADHESIVE ON THE SCREWS TO PREVENT THEM FROM BACKING OUT. FORTUNATELY, I DISCOVERED THE DOOR DIDN'T LATCH IN MY GARAGE AND NOT WHILE I WAS GOING DOWN THE ROAD! *TR
THE ENTIRE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD IS GOOEY, STICKY BLACK. IF YOU TOUCH IT GETS ALL OVER YOUR HANDS, AND EVERYTHING WILL STICK TO IT. IT APPEARS TO BE MELTING AWAY. THIS STARTED A FEW YEARS AGO. RECENTLY I NOTICED THE REAR HEADLIGHTS LOOK AS IF THEY ARE WARPED FROM THE INSIDE, AS IF IT WAS A MELTED CANDLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 MAZDA 6. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,769.
WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH, THE LOW PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. I ATTEMPTED TO GET TO A SAFE PLACE TO CHECK MY TIRE BUT THE TIRE WENT FLAT TOO QUICKLY. I HAD TO CHANGE THE TIRE ON THE ROAD. THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING DEVICE HAD FAILED AND FALLEN INSIDE THE TIRE RESULTING IN A RAPID PRESSURE DROP. CORROSION HAD CAUSED THE NUT TO BREAK APART AND FALL OFF. WITHIN 6 MONTHS THE SAME THING HAPPENED ON A DIFFERENT TIRE. DRIVING AT 55 MPH, THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER TO WATCH MY TIRE RAPIDLY GOING FLAT - ALL WITHIN ABOUT 20 SECONDS. I CHANGED MY TIRE ON A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY. I WAS LUCKY THAT THIS DID NOT HAPPEN ON A MULTI-LANE THRUWAY. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD - THE MANDATED SAFETY DEVICE IS THE CAUSE OF THE HAZARD. *TR
