PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE JERKING, PROBLEM BELIEVED TO BE THE RESULT OF A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION. *MR THE TRANSMISSION WAS FLUSHED BUT THE PROBLEM REMAINED THE SAME. THE DEALER LATER REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. (THE VEHICLE WOULD JERK BETWEEN THE SPEEDS OF 45-50, BUT AFTER THE REPLACEMENT, DOWN TO 35-45 MPH. THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE APPROACHING A TRAFFIC LIGHT WITH NO WARNING. THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED LIABILITY. *SCC *JB
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND WITHOUT ANY INDICATION VEHICLE WOULD STALL. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
MY MAZDA TRIBUTE STALLS AT HIGH SPEEDS. MOST RECENTLY, GOING DOWNHILL AT 45 MPH. ENGINE DIED, BATTERY LIGHTS AND OIL LIGHTS TURNED ON... NO WARNING AT ALL. I LOST POWER TO THE STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKES. VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT HAPPENED SO SUDDENLY, AND THERE WAS NO SAFE PLACE TO GET OFF THE ROAD. THIS IS THE THIRD INCIDENT WITH THIS CAR, THE SECOND STALLING. MY CAR ONLY HAS 21,000 MILES.
ENGINE JUST SHUTS OFF WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT AS YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THIS RESULTS IN A LOSS OF BRAKES AND STEERING. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION!! I HAVE A FEAR OF DRIVING THIS SUV. AND I WISH I COULD GET MY MONEY BACK AND GET OUT OF THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE.*AK
VEHICLE WILL SHUT DOWN WHILE BEING DRIVEN WITH NO WARNING. DEALERSHIP HAS MADE THREE ATTEMPTS TO CORRECT FAILURE, BUT STALLING STILL PERSISTS. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. *AK
TIRES MAKING AN INCREASING LOUD "HELICOPTER" TYPE SOUND. ACCORDING TO DEALER THE VEHICLE WAS NOT OUT OF ALIGNMENT. MR
WAS TRAVELING DOWN A STEEP, CURVEY HILL AT APPROXIMATELY 35-45 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED. I LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING AS WELL AS THE BRAKES. THE ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON. I WAS MEETING A VEHICLE AT THE TIME AND LUCKILY MISSED RUNNING INTO THE ONCOMING VEHICLE DUE TO INCIDENT OCCURING IN A CURVE. THIS IS THE SECOND INCIDENT THAT THIS HAS OCCURRED. IT HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS OCCURING BEFORE NOW. THIS IS A REAL SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME AND MY FAMILY. GG--KY DT
WHILE TRAVELING AT 40 MPH VEHICLE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. CONSUMER BELIEVED VEHICLE COULD HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED.*AK
THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT SO SEVERELY, THAT CONSTANT ATTENTION HAD TO BE MAINTAINED ON THE STEERING WHEEL.*AK THE PULL WAS MORE SEVERE AT HIGHER SPEEDS. THE DEALER ATTEMPTED TO FIX THE VEHICLE 7 TIMES, AND THEY STATED THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY CROWN OF THE ROAD OR THE CONSUMER'S TIRES. ALSO THERE WAS CONDENSATION IN THE HEADLAMP. *JB
FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT BELT UNLATCHEED WITHOUT PUSHING THE RELEASE BUTTON ON THE BUCKLE ASSEMBLY. DEALER REPLACED THE BUCKLE ASSEMBLY. *AK
THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON SIX DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE DEALER REPLACED THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR ON THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE FOUR TIMES. THE LIGHT CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM THE MANUFACTURER CONCERNING SEAT BELT BUCKLE FAILURE. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER, WHO WAS NOT AWARE OF THE RECALL. BOTH MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT TRYING TO ACCOMMODATE THE CONSUMER ON THIS ISSUE. *AK
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT ANY SPEED IT STALLED. THIS CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO DRIFT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER.*AK
CONSUMER RECEIVED NHTSA RECALL 03V515000 CONCERNING SEAT BELT BUCKLE COVER IN MARCH 2004, AND CONTACTED THE DEALER. AS OF MAY 6, PARTS WERE STILL UNAVAILABLE. *AK
