THE MANUFACTURER CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE AND THAT IT WAS AGAINST THEIR POLICY TO PROVIDE LOANER VEHICLES UNTIL A REMEDY WAS AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL. TAKATA RECALL: I HAD A FRONT END COLLISION AND I AM CONCERNED THAT MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE IMPACT IN MY OPINION WAS SUCH THAT CAUSED ME TO WONDER WHY THEY DID NOT INFLATE. MY PRIMARY CONCERN IS IF THEY WORK AT ALL. MY CAR WAS IN MOTION ON A WET HIGHWAY AT THE TIME OF IMPACT AROUND 2PM. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE SUNROOF RECALL. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT 60MPH, THE SUNROOF SHATTERED. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT DUE TO THE SUNROOF EXPLODING, THE RECALL DID NOT APPLY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
MY CAR IS SUBJECT TO THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL AND THE DEALER HAS NOT OFFERED ME ANY REPAIRS OR ANY ACCOMMODATIONS SINCE MARCH 2016. I PURCHASE THE CAR FROM EURO MOTORS BETHESDA. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SEAT BELT CONNECTION FAILED AND DISABLED THE SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE REAR SEAT ACTUATOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,632.

TAKATA RECALL. AIRBAGS UNDER RECALL, DEALER SAYS PARTS ARE NOT YET AVAILABLE. WHEN WILL THEY BECOME AVAILABLE? THIS IS NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM IN A TIMELY MANNER.
I PURCHASED A SECOND 2005 AMG C55 AND ONCE AGAIN, EXPERIENCED FUEL LEAKING AT TOP OF FUEL SENDING UNIT. THIS IS IDENTICAL TO THE ISSUE FOUND IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER : EA13003. EA13003 SHOULD BE EXPANDED TO 2005 & 2006 C55 AMG'S THE PROBLEM IS VERY DANGEROUS AS GASOLINE POOLS AT THE TOP OF THE SENDING UNIT AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK. SAID POOLING IS BENEATH THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT.
VEHICLE EXHIBITING SAME CHARACTERISTICS OF FUEL LEAK FROM GAS TANK AS OTHER VEHICLE MODELS INVOLVED IN NHTSA INVESTIGATION EA13-003. STRONG FUEL ODOR ORIGINATING FROM LEFT REAR SECTION OF THE VEHICLE BEHIND LEFT REAR WHEEL AFTER FILL-UP. ONLY OCCURS AFTER FILL-UP WITH FUEL TANK OF GAS. THE NHTSA INVESTIGATION EA13-003 NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE MY MODEL VEHICLE, C55 AMG.
THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE IS ADHERED TO THE FRAME VIA FOUR BOLTS. ON THE LEFT ONE OF THOSE BOLTS BROKE OFF DUE TO METAL FATIGUE. THAT MEANS THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE IS HELD ON BY THREE BOLTS. A SERIOUS SAFTEY HAZARD BECAUSE IF ONE MORE GAVE WHILE DRIVING IT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MAIN COMPUTER WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,852.

TAKATA RECALL I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON JAN 3, 2015 IN MY 05 MER BENZ C230 THE AIRBAG EXPLODED CAUSING SMOKE AND DUST LIKE PARTICALS I IMMEDIETLY GOT OFF THE CAR FROM THAT POINT ON THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING TOTTALLED I RECENTLY RECIEVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION ON 2/11/2016 I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THIS IS THE DATE THIS WAS FIGURED OUT DUE TO MY SETTLEMENT BACK IN FEB 2015 THE INSURANCE COMPANY SUBMITTED A MARKET VALUE REPORT ON MY VEHICLE DEDUCTING 2 RECALLS FROM MY CAR ONE BEING THE AIRBAG AND THIS WAS A YEAR BEFORE MERCEDES EVEN NOTIFIED THERE CUSTOMERS. I HAVE SEVERE ASTHMA AND COULD NOT BELIEVE AN AIRBAG WOULD CONTAIN THE TRASH IT DIDL. ITS GOING ON 2 YEARS AND MY CAR IS STILL SITTING ON LOT UNREPARIED WITH AIRBAG INFLATED THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE I HAVE DOCUMENTS SHOWING I WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE AIRBAG BEFORE TAKATA EVEN THOUGHT OF MENTIONING THERE DEFECT SHAME ON YOU.

The SAM system failed and car would not start !It took months to be diagnosed by 3 different mechanics! The message said quite often that the Air bags have been deployed !The dealer could not determine the issue! There have been various recalls on the Takata air bags stating my C230 2005 Kompressor is included in the recall over the last few years and when I put in the vin it says my car is not included! My mechanic said I should take it to the dealer before someone is killed. All I want now is to have these airbags replaced! UNINTENDED SURGE IN ACCELERATOR. I WAS REVERSING INTO A PARKING STALL IN THE GARAGE OF A CONDO COMPLEX. THIS IS A COMPACT STALL WITH ONLY ABOUT EIGHT INCHES OF SPACE FROM THE TIRE TO THE DIVIDING LINE, SO I NEED TO PARK VERY CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND I WAS PARTIALLY INTO THE PARKING STALL, I RELEASED MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR, PREPARING TO WORK MY WAY INTO THE STALL. INSTEAD OF SLOWING DOWN, THE CAR SURGED BACKWARDS AT A MUCH HIGHER SPEED. THE VEHICLE RAMMED AND BOUNCED OFF A CONCRETE WALL WITH GREAT FORCE. THE TIRES HAD SQUEALED BEFORE THE IMPACT. THE VEHICLE ENDED UP IN ABOUT THE SAME POSITION THAT IT WAS IN BEFORE THE ACCELERATOR SURGE.
THERE NEEDS TO BE SOMETHING DONE TO ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM WITH HEADLIGHTS. ALMOST EVERY AUTO MANUFACTURE IS MAKING THERE HEADLIGHTS OUT OF MATERIAL THAT CLOUDS UP AFTER A COUPLE OF YEAR. IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT HAS CONTINUED FOR MORE YEARS THAN IT SHOULD HAVE. WHEN THE LIGHTS CLOUD UP THEY BECOME VERY DIM AND CAST SHADOW ON IMAGES THAT THEY SHOULD BE ILLUMINATING. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS IN RURAL AREAS AND HIGHWAYS THAT ARE NOT LIGHTED. LIGHTS ARE AS IMPORTANT AS THE OTHER SAFETY ITEMS IN A VEHICLE. I OWN A 2005 MERCEDES-BENZ C320 FOR THREE YEARS AND ALWAYS HAVE ISSUES WITH THE SOFTWARE, THE ENGINE KEEPS SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING, AND THE STEERING WHEEL GET LOCKED, NO MATTER WHERE I AM AT, A CITY STREETS OR A HIGHWAY. MANY PHONE CALLS TO MERCEDES-BENZ DEALER AND THE HEADQUARTER, THEY DIDN'T TRY TO RESOLVE THE ISSUES I'M HAVING WITH MY CAR!!! MERCEDES-BENZ WANTS PEOPLE EITHER FORGET ABOUT THE SAFETY ISSUE! I RECENTLY NOTICED THE SMELL OF GAS ON THIS VEHICLE OR OF GAS COMING FROM MY REAR SEAT. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC SHOP AND HE STATED THAT THE GAS TANK HAD A LEAK ON TOP SOMEWHERE. HE STATED THAT THIS IS A PRETTY COMMON PROBLEM IN THESE MERCEDES. MY KIDS TRAVEL VEHICLE TRAVEL WITH. THEY END UP WITH REALLY BAD HEADACHES. I HAVE READ OTHER POSTS THAT HAVE THE SIMILAR PROBLEM THAT I'M HAVING. I THINK THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM PEOPLE COULD END UP GETTING HURT. SOME COULD GET SERIOUSLY HURT. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE SEAT AND FOUND THE SEAT TO BE SMOKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. ON A WAY FROM ROAD TRIP I WAS DRIVING ( NIGHT DRIVE) MY HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT IN MIDDLE OF DRIVING. I PULL ON SIDE OF THE ROAD TO SEE WHAT IS GOING ON AND THEN I SAW SMOKE PORING OUT OF MY DRIVER SIDE FOG LIGHT AND PASSENGER HEADLIGHT .OPEN THE HOOD AND SAW WHAT I REALLY DID NOT WANTED TO SEE A FIRE. I JUST WANA SAY BIG THANKS FOR SEMITRUCK DRIVER WHO WAS SO NICE TO STOP WITH HIS RIG AND TRY TO HELP ME WITH FIRE EXTINGUISHER. WHEN FIRE WAS OUT I PULL THE BULB OUT AND PLASTIC BULB SOCKET THE HOLD THE BULB WAS GONE MELTED. IM NOT TALKING ABOUT THE PLASTIC PART THAT IS ON BULB IS A PLASTIC PART THAT IS COMING FROM THE CAR ELECTRICAL WIRE THAT PLUGS IN TO THE BULB.SAME THING WAS WITH FOG LIGHT BULB ALL MELTED TO THE POINT WHERE THERE IS NO PLASTIC FOR BULB SOCKET. AFTER COUPLE MINUTES SEMITRUCK DRIVER TOLD ME TO FOLLOW HIM TO FIRST RESTAREA STOP SO I CAN BE SAFE NOT STANDING ON MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. WHEN I RESTART THE CAR AND TURN MY HEADLIGHTS ON ONLY ONE LIGHT WAS WORKING. FINALLY AFTER COUPLE MILES OF DRIVING WITH ONE HEADLIGHT AND FOLLOWING THE SEMITRUCK DRIVER WE CAME TO FIRST REST AREA STOP. AFTER LOOKING FOR COUPLE MINUTES SEMITRUCK DRIVER GAVE ME ELECTRICAL TAPE TO COVER THE WIRES SO THAT FIRE DOSE NOT START AGAIN. MAYBE IS HARD TO BELIEVE BUT I HAVE PHOTOS THAT I CAN SEND IT . I KNOW THERE IS A MERCEDES FORUM ON INTERNET ABOUT THIS PEOPLE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM. LIKE I SAID I HAVE PHOTOS THAT I CAN SEND IT IF YOU GUYS THING IS A MADE UP STORY. AND WORST THING IS NEXT TO THE HEADLIGHT IS A FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR SO I DON'T FEEL SAFE OR DRIVING ANY MORE. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THAT THIS HAPPENED I BEEN GOING THRU 20 BULBS FOR MY BRAKE LIGHTS TAIL LIGHTS AND HEADLIGHTS. BUT NOW IM THINKING IS NOT THE BULBS THAT R BAD IS THE ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH THE CAR. *TR
THE ELECTRONIC ENGINE/GEARBOX PROTECTION SWITCHED OFF THE ENGINE WHILE THE CAR IS ON THE MOVE IN A HIGHWAY. THE INCIDENCE HAPPEN TWICE IN 2011 AND 2012. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER ON THE SHOULDER AND RESTART THE ENGINE WITHOUT ANY ADVERSE INCIDENCE. BUT, THE POTENTIAL FOR CATASTROPHIC INJURY AS A RESULT OF SUDDEN LOSS OF ENGINE POWER IN A HIGHWAY CONCERNS ME.
THE ELECTRONIC WARNING SIGN FOR UNLOCKED SEAT BELT COMES ON WHILE THE CAR IS MOVING, INCLUDING AT HIGH SPEED ON FREEWAYS. UNLOCKING AND RE-LOCKING THE SEAT-BELT DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN OCCURRING ON AND OFF FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS AND I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE POTENTIAL THE AIRBAG MAY NOT DEPLOY APPROPRIATELY IN CASE AN ACCIDENT/COLLISION.
WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. WE HAD JUST LEFT HOME ABOUT TWO MINUTES BEFORE. WITH EXTREME DIFFICULTY IN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL, WE DRIFTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THEN RESTARTED THE CAR.
