Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)LOW BEAM DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT IS OUT AND GOES OUT WHEN REPLACING BULB. I ALWAYS TAKE MY CAR TO THE MERCEDES DEALERSHIP, WHERE I PURCHASED NEW IN 2007, FOR MAINTENANCE. SERVICE REP SAYS THE WIRING IN HEADLAMP IS CORROSIVE AND NEEDS REPLACING. MY HUSBAND LOOKED AT THE WIRES AND THEY SEEM TO HAVE MELTED. THE LIGHTS HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT $350 EACH (X2) AND THE LABOR AS WELL TO REMOVE THE BUMPER AND PUT IN THE NEW LIGHTS. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE W/ THESE CARS AND NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED OR RECALLED. I'VE NEVER HEARD OF ANOTHER VEHICLE DOING THIS, NOR COSTING NEARLY $1000 TO REPLACE TWO HEADLIGHTS, WHICH IS CRUCIAL FOR SAFETY. I HAVE LOOKED TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY RECALLS BUT HAVE NOT SEEN ANY. PLEASE ADVISE IF THERE ARE.
I REAR ENDED ANOTHER A 2012 NISSAN SENTRA AND MY CAR WAS DECLARED A TOTAL LOST. THE OTHER VEHICLE HAD VERY MINIMAL DAMAGE. *TR
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
