TAKATA RECALL, NOTHING HAS HAPPENED TO THE VEHICLE AS YET, BUT CONTACTED THE DEALER TO GET AIRBAG REPLACED AND THEY ARE SAYING THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX THE AIRBAG AND WE WILL BE NOTIFIED WHEN THEY ARE AVAILABLE. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY RISK AND DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE PARTS AREN'T AVAILABLE TO FIX SOMETHING THAT COULD CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH. THANK YOU
TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED RECALL NOTICES ON MAY AND AUGUST 2016 FROM MERCEDES BENZ USA TO REPLACE THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS WHICH STATES THAT THEY MAY RUPTURE DUE TO EXCESSIVE INTERNAL PRESSURE, LIKELY TO OCCUR IF VEHICLE IS EXPOSED TO HIGH LEVELS OF ABSOLUTE HUMIDITY FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME, POSSIBLY CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. I LIVE IN SOUTH FLORIDA AND THE TEMPS HAVE BEEN IN THE 100S WITH OFF THE CHARTS HUMIDITY EVERY MONTH! I LIVE IN FEAR OF DRIVING MY CAR AND DYING IN AN AIRBAG EXPLOSION. WEEKLY CALLS TO THE MERCEDES DEALER SAID THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS YET! MY HUSBAND'S 2007 HONDA RIDGELINE WAS REPLACED IMMEDIATELY. COULD YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY IT'S TAKING SO LONG TO FIX THIS DANGEROUS DEFECT FOR MY CAR? THANK YOU.
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE OWNED THE CAR FOR ABOUT 1 1/2 YEARS AND THE RECALL WAS FROM ABOUT 2012 I THINK FROM LOOKING IT UP . I HAVE CALLED THE HOTLINE MANY TIME AND GOT A RUN AROUND. WAS TOLD EVERY TIME PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE WITHIN A FEW MONTHS.

MY CAR WAS BROKEN DOWN WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCK WAS LOCKED MY CAR AND SHUT DOWN THE ELECTRIC. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I'M VERY LUCKY. THE ROAD WAS EMPTY AND I ABLED TO PULLOVER TO THE SIDE. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND SEE THAT MANY PEOPLE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR C CLASS FROM YEAR 2008 TO 2010.

ANTI-THEFT STEERING WHEEL LOCK
SRS LIGHT CAME ON OCTOBER 2017. I TOOK MY CAR TO MERCEDES OF SACRAMENTO . THE REPAIR TECH STATED THAT IT WASN'T THE AIRBAG. THE REPAIR TECH SAID THAT ITS IN THE STEERING COLUMN. I BELIEVE IT IS THE AIRBAG. I NEED THIS FIXED.
I AM WRITING YOU REGARDING A SERIOUS AND POTENTIAL LIFE THREATENING SAFETY HAZARD THAT HAS BEEN IGNORED BY MERCEDES-BENZ. CLEARLY THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED PROBLEM AS I HAVE FOUND THIS ISSUE HAS PLAGUED MANY OTHER MERCEDES DRIVERS ON THE INTERNET. ON 1 OCTOBER 2017, THE INSIDE PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE MALFUNCTIONED AND WOULD NOT OPEN THE DOOR. (SEE ATTACHED PHOTO). THE PASSENGER DOOR CAN NOW ONLY BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. WHEN TAKEN TO THE LOCAL MERCEDES OF ARROWHEAD DEALER IN PEORIA, AZ, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ENTIRE DOOR PANEL MUST BE REPLACED, NEEDS TO BE MANUFACTURED AND WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL NOV 2017, THEN DEC 2017 AND NOW FEB 2018. THE INABILITY TO OPEN THE PASSENGER DOOR PRESENTS A GRAVE SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE IF THE CAR IS IN A ACCIDENT WHERE THE DRIVER DOOR IS DISABLED BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER CANNOT ESCAPE FROM THE VEHICLE. THEREFORE, MERCEDES SHOULD HAVE PLACED THIS MODEL ON THE RECALL LIST WHICH IT DID NOT AND THE LOCAL MERCEDES DEALER SAID I AM NOT ALONE WITH THIS ENGINEERING MALFUNCTION IN THIS MODEL YEAR AND PERHAPS OTHERS. THE LENGTH OF TIME TO CORRECT THIS ENGINEERING DEFECT IS UNACCEPTABLE AND THIS SITUATION REQUIRES AN IMMEDIATE AND CONCERTED INVESTIGATION BECAUSE IT PRESENTS A POTENTIAL LIFE THREATENING SCENARIO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MERCEDES-BENZ C300. A FEW YEARS AGO, THE CONTACT DETECTED A FUEL ODOR COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MERCEDES-BENZ OF FOOTHILL RANCH (81 AUTO CENTER DR, FOOTHILL RANCH, CA 92610, (949) 354-0112) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE FUEL FENDER SEAL/ SEAL RING FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE ODOR RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL FILTER HOUSING WAS LEAKING AND THE REAR PADDING AND LOWER SEAT CUSHION WERE SATURATED WITH FUEL AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENTIRE REAR SEAT WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,989.
THEY NEVER HAVE THE PART I HAVE 2010 MERCEDES BENZ C 300 I NEED IT FIX, THE LIGHTS CODES ARE ALWAYS, GOING ON AND OFF. CHECK INGINE LIGHT. NO ACCEDINT . . JUST RECALL AND NEED IT FIX PASSENGER AIR BAG
THE RECALL OF THE AIRBAGS HAS NOT BEEN FULFILLED BEYOND REASONABLE TIME.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE BROKE. THIS WAS NOT DUE TO EXCESSIVE FORCE, UNUSUAL WEAR OR USE, ETC. THE PART CAN ONLY BE REPAIRED BY REPLACING THE ENTIRE INTERIOR DOOR PANEL. DEALER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND KNOWS THAT THE PIECE IS FAULTY AND PRONE TO BREAKING. THE COST TO FIX IT IS NEARLY $1,000 TO REPAIR. IN ORDER TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, I HAVE TO ROLL DOWN MY WINDOW, OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE EXTERIOR, ROLL MY WINDOW BACK UP AND THEN EXIT. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD IF I NEEDED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE QUICKLY DUE TO A FIRE, ACCIDENT, ETC. WHEN THE HANDLE BROKE, THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY (I HAD JUST PARKED), I WENT TO OPEN THE DOOR AND THERE WAS NO MOVEMENT OF THE DOOR. THERE WAS NO SOUND INDICATING A BREAK, IT SIMPLY DID NOT OPEN THE DOOR ANY LONGER. WHEN RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM, I FOUND ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE OF THIS BEING A COMMON ISSUE AMONG OTHER MB OWNERS AND THEY WERE EQUALLY AGHAST AT THE FACT THAT THIS HAD NOT BEEN RECALLED AND ADDRESSED DUE TO THE SEVERE NATURE OF THE ISSUE.
TAKATA RECALL, ELECTRIC SYSTEM DEFICIENT, AND BRAKES FAILURE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MERCEDES-BENZ C300W. WHILE DRIVING, THE CONTACT NOTICED A FUEL ODOR THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FUEL ODOR BECAME EXTREMELY STRONG. THE CONTACT THEN NOTICED FUEL ON THE GROUND AND STATED THAT FUEL WAS VISIBLE EVERYWHERE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO W.I. SIMONSON MERCEDES-BENZ AT (855) 677-2690 (1626 WILSHIRE BLVD, SANTA MONICA, CA 90403), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MERCEDES-BENZ IN PALM SPRINGS WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO W.I. SIMONSON MERCEDES-BENZ WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
DROVE MY CAR TO WORK EVERYTHING WAS FINE.. WHEN I WENT TO LEAVE I TURNED THE KEY AND NOTHING HAPPENED.. AFTER TALKING WITH A MB SERVICE CONSULTANT HE IS INFORMED ME THAT IT IS PROBABLY THE ELECTRIC IGNITION SWITCH.. DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE I SEE THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM.
THE ESL (ELECTRONIC STEERING LOCK) & THE EIS (ELECTRONIC IGNITION SWITCH) WENT OUT AT EXACTLY 7 YEARS. MY CAR WAS PARKED IN MY GARAGE AND I TIRED TO TURN IT ON AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. I CAN HERE THE CAR TRYING TO CRANK OVER BUT IT DOES NOT WORK. THERE ARE NUMEROUS MERCEDES BENZ C300 OWNERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM (STEERING LOCK/COLUMN). PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL. THANK YOU.
VEHICLE POWER STEERING WILL STOP WORKING, MAKING THE VEHICLE HARD TO TURN. VERY DANGEROUS IF YOU ARE OVER 60 MILES AN HOUR.
THE STEERING WHEEL OF THE CAR SUDDENLY LOCKED. ALL ELECTRICAL SHUT SUDDENLY. LUCKILY WE WERE CLOSE TO HOME NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF A FREEWAY. MECHANICS IN GENERAL ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THIS ISSUE IN THE MERCEDES C300 CLASS. THE REPAIRS WERE ASTRONOMICAL. I CHECKED ONLINE AND SEVERAL PEOPLE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. MERCEDES BENZ DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE. THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY!! IF IT SHOULD HAPPEN IN A FREEWAY COULD BE CATASTROPHIC. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER AND SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE AFFECTED WITH THIS AND HAVE MERCEDES BENZ ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY. I ALSO HAVE THE TAKATA RECALL AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE!!!!
TAKATA RECALL MY CAR STARTS ADVERTISING ABOUT MY DRIVER AIRBAG.
NOTICES OF RECALL; SCHEDULED WITH DEALER AND NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK TO REPLACEMENT. THE CALL SMELLS STRONGLY OF BURNT PLASTIC SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. EVERY SINGLE CAR MAINTENANCE PERSON TELLS ME THE CAR EMITS THAT SMELL.

THE CONTACT NOTICED A WET SPOT ON THE DRIVEWAY AND UPON INSPECTION DID NOT FIND WHERE THE FUEL WAS LEAKING FROM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CALIBER MOTORS MERCEDES BENZ OF ANAHEIM CALIFORNIA AND THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE SIDE FUEL SENDING UNIT COVER AND SEAL WERE WORN OUT AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL: I AM MAKING THIS CONTACT TO REQUEST AN UPDATED PLAN FOR AIRBAG REPLACEMENT AND AN EXPLANATION FOR WHY THE PLAN THAT WAS PRESENTED IN 2016 WAS NOT ACTED UPON. AS I RECALL, THE PLAN SCHEDULED FOR PRIORITY #1 REPLACEMENTS TO OCCUR BY THE END OF 2016. HOWEVER, THERE HAS BEEN NO ACTION ON MY OR APPARENTLY OTHER VEHICLES IN THIS CLASS, AND THERE HAS BEEN NO INFORMATION PROVIDED ABOUT AN UPDATED SCHEDULE. THE AUTO MANUFACTURER DID NOT PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION IN RESPONSE TO MY CALL TO THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER.
TAKATA RECALL. THE LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD TURNED ON FOR NO REASON, I WAS DRIVING WHEN THE SIGN TURNED ON.
The interior door handles are not engineered correctly and break easily. I have had to replace mine 3 time at $1000 every time it breaks. This is a big Safety Hazard should I have to exit the vehicle for any type of emergency. It can also put people in harms way as most people due not have $1000 on hand to dump out every time one of these handles break and would have to wait conciderable time before repairs can be made. The car may be the only means they have to get to work. Very unsafe situation.
FAULT SHOWS UP ON DASH BOARD-"POWER STEERING MALFUNCTION, SEE OPERATORS MANUAL". THIS FAULT STAYS ON WHEN THE CAR IS IN STATIONARY MODE & OR IN MOTION. VEHICLE SEEMS TO OPERATE PROPERLY, ALL FLUID LEVELS HAVE BEEN VERIFIED SPECIALLY "POWER STEERING FLUID".
I GOT MERCEDES BENZ C300 2010 IN LESS THAN 6 MONTHS, THE VEHICLE DEVELOPED POWER STEERING LOCK ISSUE; THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START AND GOT ME STRANDED IN A PARKING LOT OF A GROCERY STORE. I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM ONLINE AND REALIZED SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS HAVE HAD SIMILAR ISSUE. I BROUGHT THE ISSUE TO MBUSA, THEY DID NOT DENY ITS A COMMON ISSUE BUT SAID BASED ON THE HISTORY OF THE VEHICLE I AM NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ANY RELIEVE ON THE COST OF REPAIR. I FEEL IT IS UNFAIR THAT I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING I BELIEVE ITS A MANUFACTURER DEFAULT. NOW I AM COMPELLED TO PAY $1,700 FOR THE REPAIRS.
THERE IS A RECALL ON MY MERCEDES BENZ 2010 WITH THE POWERING STEERING HOSE. I HAD TO PAY FOR REPAIRS FOR REPAIRS OUT OF POCKET, BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING FLUID KEPT LEAKING. I RECEIVED A LETTER AFTER THE REPAIRS THAT THERE WAS A RECALL OUTSTANDING REGARDING THE POWER STEERING HOSE. I WENT TO A MERCEDES DEALERSHIP TO GET REIMBURSEMENT AND THEY ARE REFUSING.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 MERCEDES-BENZ C350. DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT STRUCK THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD AND DEEMED DESTROYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A MINOR CONCUSSION AND HAD FOUR LOOSE TEETH, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
DRIVERS SIDE LOCK DOES NOT FUNCTION. WHEN COMING UP TO SPEED DOOR DOES NOT LOCK POSING A SAFETY ISSUE OF THE DOOR OPENING IN AN ACCIDENT. IT IS ALSO VERY INCONVIENT TO MANUALLY LOOK THE DOOR AS IT ONLY WILL LOCK AFTER BEING CLOSED.
TAKATA RECALL - MERCEDES BENZ HAS FAILED TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. ATTACHED ARE LETTERS FROM THEM AND FURTHER DISCUSSION WITH THEIR EXEC DEPT, THEY HAVE NO CLUE WHEN THEY WILL REPAIR THIS SAFETY ISSUE. HOW LONG CAN THEY JUST KEEP DELAYING THIS SAFETY REPAIR AND HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE WILL DIE DUE TO THEIR NONCHALANT ATTENTION TO THIS MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM. NO CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE WITH THESE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS.
WIRING ASSEMBLY RECALL. MY 2010 MB C300 HAD A TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY RECALLED 3 YRS AGO DUE TO A FAULT IN WIRING ASSEMBLY. NOW I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM - FAULT IN WIRING ASSEMBLY. NOW I HAVE TO PAY $170 + TAXES TO REPAIR IT.
THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM SINCE I FIRST RECEIVED MY CAR. I CAME TO FIND OUT ONCE IN ACCIDENT 4/30/17 THAT THERE WERE ZERO AIRBAGS IN THE CAR AT ALL! THIS IS VERY UNACCEPTABLE

TAKATA RECALL. AFTER PURCHASING MY 2010 MERCEDES C-300 I'VE NOTICED A GAS SMELL FROM THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE BUT THIS HAS GOTTEN WORSE AFTER I PARK MY CAR IN MY GARAGE OVERNIGHT. THE ENTIRE GARAGE AND VEHICLE INTERIOR SMELL LIKE GAS. I THEN NOTICE A GAS LEAKAGE SPOT FROM THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE. THIS HAPPENS WHEN I HAVE FULL TANK OR HALF OF THE TANK FULL OF GAS. I RED ABOUT THIS ONLINE I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP BUT I WAS TOLD THE RECALL/ EXTENSION TANK WARRANTY DOES NOT APPLY TO MY CAR. CONCERNING THE SEAT-BELT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT IS DEFAULT. IT DOES NOT BUCKLE
TAKATA INFLATORS: MERCEDES CONTINUES TO STATE THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM.
TAKATA RECALL IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR AND MERCEDES STILL HAS NO SOLUTION TO THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECAL. THAT IS RIDICULOUS. WHAT CAN BE DONE?
TAKATA RECALL - I CALLED MY LOCAL MERCEDES BENZ SERVICE MANAGER TO ASK ABOUT THE RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS. HE STATED "I DON'T KNOW WHEN PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE". THE SAFETY OF MY WIFE AND CHILDREN IN THE MERCEDES IS MY TOP PRIORITY. HOW CAN I FEEL SAFE DRIVING A CAR THAT IS KNOWN TO HAVE DEFECTIVE PARTS, THAT MIGHT MAIM OR EVEN TAKE THE LIFE OF ONE OF MY LOVED ONES. SHAME ON MERCEDES BENZ FOR NOT MAKING THIS A HIGHER PRIORITY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MERCEDES-BENZ C300. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 18V043000 (AIR BAGS) AND 16V081000 (AIR BAGS). THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. INDIANAPOLIS MERCEDES-BENZ (2314 N MERIDIAN ST, INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46208, (317) 924-5321) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

FUEL ODOR WHEN TANK IS FILLED. PROBLEM WAS APPARENTLY MANUFACTURING DEFECT. FUEL LEAKED FROM FUEL FILTER MOUNTING STUDS THAT CRACKED AND PULLED THROUGH MOUNTING PLATE. GAS TANK AND ALL ATTACHMENTS HAD TO BE REPLACED.SEE ATTACHED MERCEDES WORK ORDER.
PREVIOUSLY RECALLED FOR THE SAME ISSUE IN 2014. TAIL LIGHT BULB HOLDERS OR WIRING HARNESS CATCHING FIRE.
TAKATA FRONTAL AIRBAG AND ANOTHER DEFECTIVE PART THAT I HAD RECEIVED AN ALERT ABOUT OVER A YEAR AGO, BUT TILL TODAY'S DATE HAS NOT BEEN REMEDIED. AS PART IS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE ESL (ELECTRONIC STEERING LOCK) & THE EIS (ELECTRONIC IGNITION SWITCH) WENT OUT AT EXACTLY 7 YEARS. THE COMMAND CONTROL KNOB ALSO WENT OUT AROUND THE SAME TIME. ALL THESE PROBLEMS ARE VERY COMMON IN THESE MODELS. MERCEDES BENZ USA IS FULLY AWARE OF THESE ISSUES AND DOES NOTHING ABOUT IT! IT COST U.S. CONSUMERS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO PAY FOR THESE REPAIRS. ALL THESE PROBLEMS COME UP WHEN THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY (SHOCKER).YOU'LL HAVE TO PAY EVERYTHING OUT OF POCKET.

TAKATA RECALL FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS AND NINE MONTHS I SERVICE MY CAR AT BENZEL-BUSH OF ENGLEWOOD NJ.I DID ASK THEM ABOUT THE RECALL AND THEY TOLD ME TO WAIT.AS OF 11/27/2017 I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY INFORMATION ABOUT TAKATA RECALL FROM BENZEI-BUSH
AFTER PURCHASING MY VEHICLE IN 2013 THE DRIVER INSIDE DOOR LATCH BROKE AND WILL NOT OPEN DRIVERS DOOR. THIS OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 3 YRS AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. AROUND 12/16. IN ORDER TO GET OUT OF MY VEHICLE I MUST ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN AND UNLOCK DOOR, REACH OUT AND OPEN FROM OUTSIDE LATCH. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE IN THIS VEHICLE IN THE EVENT I LOSE POWER DUE TO WRECK, I WILL BE TRAPPED INSIDE THIS VEHICLE. I'VE REPORTED THIS TO MERCEDES'S AND WHEN I'VE TRIED TO ORDER THIS PART, I'M TOLD IT'S ON NATIONAL BACKORDER ! IT'S VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX, BUT I CAN'T EVEN GET IT FIXED BECAUSE THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. MERCEDES WON'T EVEN GIVE ME A DATE WHEN IT WILL BE AVAILABLE. AFTER GOOGLING THIS SUBJECT ONLINE, I'VE LEARNED THERE IS A HUGE AMOUNT OF THESES DOOR LATCHES BREAKING. I'M PLEADING FOR HELP!!
