THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. MERCEDES-BENZ OF GOLDEN BRIDGE (321 NY-22, GOLDEN BRIDGE, NY 10526, (914) 232-8122) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE ALSO HAD ELECTRICAL FAILURES AND ONE OF THE RIMS FRACTURED. ALSO, THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES WERE FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. *BF. CONSUMER STATED 2-3 TIRE AND RIM REPLACEMENTS FIRST 4 MONTH OF PURCHASING IT. CONSUMER PURCHASED A SECOND CAR. AGAIN SECOND HAD HAD CREAKED RIM ON THE WHEEL, WHICH CONSUMER REPLACED. CONSUMER HAD CRACKED WHEEL, LANE ASSIST HAD ELECTRICAL FAULT, REPLACED ACCELERATOR PEDAL, REPLACED HORN PLATE, STEERING WHEEL AGAIN VIBRATION MOTOT MALFUNCTION, REMOVE BATTERY, REPLACED 12/18. CONSUMER HAS RECEIVED 4 SAFETY RECALL LETTERS ON THIS CAR AND OUT OF 4 LETTERSM, 2 CAME IN 2/19, 3/19. CAR'S WARRANTY IS UNTIL 4/2019.*JB

TAKATA RECALL. OUR COMPLAINT IS REGARDING THE UNREASONABLE DELAY IN PROVIDING US WITH A GOOD REPLACEMENT PART. BECAUSE OF THE RECALL WE HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO USE THE CAR OR RISK SERIOUS BODILY INJURY OR DEATH IF THE AIRBAG SHOULD DEPLOY AND EXPLODE. IN THE MEANTIME WE HAVE TO FIND ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION, CONTINUE MAKING PAYMENTS ON THE CAR, AND ARE UNABLE TO SELL IT. SHOULD WE DECIDE TO USE IT AND GET INJURED BY THE AIRBAG WE WILL HAVE NO REMEDY AT LAW BECAUSE WE THEY WILL CONSIDER THAT ASSUMED THE RISK BY USING IT EVEN WITH KNOWLEDGE OF THE RECALL. WE WANTED OUR REPLACEMENT PART MONTHS AGO AND NOW ITS BEEN JUST TOO LONG. OTHER VEHICLES WITH THE SAME RECALL HAVE HAD REPLACEMENTS ALREADY. MERCEDES BENZ IS NOT ACTING FAST ENOUGH AND THIS DELAY CAN ONLY CAUSE MORE PROBLEMS FOR OUR SOCIETY AS A WHOLE AS SOME PEOPLE MAY CONTINUE TO USE THEIR CARS DESPITE THEW RECALL. WE RECEIVED OUR NOTICE IN FEBRUARY OF 2018. TO THE QUESTION BELOW REGARDING "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN" I USED THE DATE OF THE RECALL NOTICE. WE HAVE AVOIDED USING THE CAR AND HAVE NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THANK YOU.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 MERCEDES-BENZ C250W. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DECELERATE ON ITS OWN AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MERCEDES-BENZ OF PALM BEACH (4000 OKEECHOBEE BLVD, WEST PALM BEACH, FL 33409, 561-689-6363) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. WHILE DRIVING BACK HOME AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE DRIVER HEARD A HISSING SOUND AND DARK SMOKE GUSHED FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. FLAMES APPROXIMATELY SEVEN FEET HIGH POURED OUT FROM THE HOOD AND ENGULFED THE ENTIRE VEHICLE. THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CAUSED BY THE PREVIOUS REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED AN INVESTIGATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,187.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 MERCEDES-BENZ C250. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, WHICH WAS A SAFETY CONCERN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE SRS WARNING INDICATOR WAS RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER (MERCEDES-BENZ OF TAMPA, 4400 NORTH DALE MABRY HIGHWAY, TAMPA, FL 33614, (813) 579-2138) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SRS WARNING INDICATOR NEEDED TO BE RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,200. *TT CONSUMER STATED CALLED MERCEDEZ BENZ HOTLINE & CUSTOMER SERVICE TWICE. 1ST THEY TOLD IF SRS LIGHT WAS ON TO STOP DRIVING CAR IMMEDIATELY & HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALER- WHICH I DID ON 12-13-17. SRS LIGHT WAS RESET BY DEALER AFTER HAVING CAR FOR 5 DAYS ON 1-2-18 LIGHT (SRS) CAME ON AGAIN& I HAD CAR TOWED TO DEALER AGAIN. AT THIS TIME DEALER TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING MORE THEY COULD DO FOR ME. TAKATA RECALL - I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION IN OCTOBER 2017 TK HOLDINGS INC.'S CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPTCY. THIS WAS THE FIRST NOTIFICATION THAT I RECEIVED THAT MY 2014 MERCEDES C300 HAD A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER NEVER PROVIDED ONE. I LOOKED UP ON-LINE REGARDING THE RECALL AND DISCOVERED MY CAR IS AFFECTED. I HAD SCHEDULED SERVICES AT THE DENVER MERCEDES DEALERSHIP ON 12/28/17 AND TOOK IN THE DOCUMENTATION I HAD RECEIVED/DISCOVERED ON-LINE AND ASKED MY SERVICE REP ABOUT IT. HE TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO GO ON-LINE AND REGISTER. THAT WAS IT. IF MY CAR HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR A SAFETY REASON I CERTAINLY DESERVE MORE OF AN EXPLANATION THAN BEING TOLD TO GO REGISTER ON-LINE. WHEN WILL THE DEFECT BE RECTIFIED AND WHEN WILL THE MANUFACTURER/DEALER CORRECT THE DEFECT SO THAT I AM NOT IN DANGER?
STEERING WHEEL SPRING GROUNDING PROBLEM CAN ACCIDENTALLY DEPLOY AIRBAG. RECALLED IN OCT 2017 BUT I'M TOLD PARTS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL MAY 2018. THIS IS AN UNREASONABLY LONG TIME. I WENT TO TRADE-IN THIS CAR TO PURCHASE A NEW ONE AND WAS TOLD THAT NO DEALER CAN SELL A CAR WITH A PENDING SAFETY RECALL EXCEPT "AS IS" THROUGH AN AUTO AUCTION, WHICH LOWERS THE VALUE OF MY CAR BY OVER $2,000 VERSUS A NORMAL DEALER TRADE. HOW DO I RECOVER THIS LOSS WITHOUT SUING MERCEDES? ARE THERE ANY GOVERNMENT REMEDIES OTHER THAN PRIVATE LAWSUIT?

TAKATA RECALL: TO DATE NOTHING HAS HAPPENED. HOWEVER, MY AUTO IS LISTED IN THE AIRBAG RECALL NOTICE AS HAVING DEFECTIVE GROUNDING IN THE STEERING COLUMN WHICH COULD LEAD TO A PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES AND PAIN THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION AND A PHYSICAL THERAPIST. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN UNKNOWN BMW COLLISION AUTO CENTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DECLARED TOTALED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 34,000.

I RECEIVED NOTICE THAT TAKATA AIR BAG ON PASSENGER SIDE CAN EXPLODE AND SEND METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING THE FRONT PASSENGER POSSIBLY CAUSING DEATH. SINCE 2017 NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO REMEDY SITUATION.

TAKATA RECALL NOTICE RECEIVED IN THE MAIL. I CONFIRMED MY CAR WAS INCLUDED IN THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL VIA WWWAIRBAGRECALL.COM AND CALLED PARK PLACE MERCEDES IN GRAPEVINE, TX. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE INSISTED MY CAR WAS NOT RECALLED. SHE WAS RUDE AND JUST KEPT SAYING IT WAS NOT RECALLED. BTW, THIS HAPPENED OCTOBER 25, 2017. THE DROP DOWN BELOW WOULD ONLY LET ME ENTER OCTOBER 24 OR BEFORE.
THERE IS A RECALL ON MY C-250 CONCERNING THE TAKATA AS WELL AS THE STEERING COLUMM WAS TOLD THAT IT COULD CAUSE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY AT ANY TIME. HOWEVER, WHEN I CALLED MERCEDES THEY SAID TO WAIT UNTIL THE SRS LIGHT CAME ON AND STOP IMMEDIATELY CALL FOR A TOW AND THEY WOULD BRING IT IN AND COULD TAKE QUITE SOME TIME TO GET PARTS AND REPAIR. IN MY UNDERSTANDING IF THE AIR BAG SHOULD DEPLOY DOING 70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY IT WOULD ENDANGER MANY LIVES. NOT SURE I CAM COMFORTABLE WITH THE ANSWERS I GOT FROM MERCEDES. WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT.

WHILE IN MOTION (DRIVING) ANOTHER DRIVER TURNED IN FRONT OF ME, CAUSING ME TO T-BONE HER (POLICE REPORT WITH DESCRIPTION ATTACHED). I SLAMMED ON BRAKES TO TO LESSEN THE UNAVOIDABLE IMPACT. I ESTIMATE MY SPEED AT 30-35 MPH. MY AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. MY CAR WAS TOTALED, AS WAS THE OTHER DRIVER I HIT. I HAD 2 SPIRAL METACARPAL FRACTURES IN MY LEFT HAND FROM HITTING THE STEERING WHEEL THAT REQUIRED SURGICAL PLACEMENT OF TWO PLATES AND 12 SCREWS, AND MY KNEES HIT THE DASH BOARD, MY RIGHT HIP BRUISED FROM SEATBELT,I SPRAINED NECK AND BACK AND PARTIALLY TORN LEFT ROTATOR CUFF. ALL OF THE OTHER DRIVERS AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, AND SHE WALKED AWAY FROM THE ACCIDENT. NOT ONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.I WAS TAKEN TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM VIA AMBULANCE FROM THE SCENE. MY LEFT PANT LEG WAS CUT BY PARAMEDICS TO SEE MY KNEE THAT HAD OBVIOUS BRUISING AND SWELLING. I WAS DISCHARGED BEING TOLD I NEEDED TO FOLLOW UP WITH A HAND SURGEON TO HAVE MY BONES IN MY HAND REPAIRED AFTER X RAYS. I'VE BEEN OUT OF WORK SINCE THE ACCIDENT. TAKATA RECALL HEADLIGHT, MODULES COMPONENT CONTROLLING THE HEADLIGHT, AND THE SEAL. MOIST GETS IN THE HEADLIGHT AND DAMAGES THE LIGHT. HAD TO PLACE ON BOTH HEADLIGHTS AND THE MODULES UNITS IN THE BACK OF HEADLIGHTS THAT CONTROLS ALL LIGHTS. WAS IN MOTION BOTH TIMES. DASHBOARD INDICATED CHECK ALL LIGHTS; IT WAS CORRECT. BOTH NEEDED SERVICED
INOP DRIVER DOOR INTERIOR HANDLE. DEFECT AFFECTS THE SAFETY INTEGRITY OF THE PRODUCT. TOOK IT TO DEALER FOR WARRANTY REPAIR 6 MONTHS AGO AND THEY STILL ARE UNABLE TO FIX IT.
STATIONARY VEHICLE'S DOOR LATCH STOPPED WORKING WHILE TRYING TO EXIT THE CAR. THE LATCH IS LOOSELY MOVING AROUND WITH NO CONNECTION TO THE DOOR LOCK WHATSOEVER.
