The contact owns a 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLA250. The contact stated that there was water leaking from all four grab handles above the front and rear driver's and passenger's side seats. Upon inspection, the contact noticed water stains around the sunroof and headliner. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V912000 (Visibility, Air Bags); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 MERCEDES-BENZ CLA250. WHILE DRIVING 65-70 MPH, AN ABNORMAL EXPLOSIVE SOUND WAS HEARD. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SUN ROOF HAD EXPLODED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SUN ROOF WAS NOT IMPACTED BY ROAD DEBRIS AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. MERCEDES-BENZ OF TAMPA (4400 N DALE MABRY HWY, TAMPA, FL 33614, (813) 579-2138) WAS CONTACTED BY PHONE AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,506. THE VIN WAS INVALID. *LN*JB
